Add a stolen iphone to icloud using serial number from original box

My iPhone 5 was stolen after I upgraded to the iPhone6.  My iCloud only has my new iPhone 6 listed.  Is there a way I can add my stolen iPhone 5 to my iCloud using the serial number or IMEI/MEID from original iPhone 5 packaging/box without having the iPhone 5 in hand?

You cannot add a device to iCloud with a serial number or any other number. The only way to track the device is if Find My iPhone is activated prior to the device being stolen. If you turned off Find My iPhone and/or removed the device from your iCloud account, then you will not be able to track it.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.
If the device is wiped by you or another, you may not be able to locate the device (although some have reported they can)

  • If my ipod was stolen can i get my serial number from apple?

how would i get my serial number through apple store if it was stolen today? i need it ASAP beause im in school and the day ends at 1:45...someone help me please

I don't believe you can get your serial number from Apple since they have know way of knowing that you are indeed you, but you can call Apple tech support at 1-800-275-2273 (if you have a cellphone or can make an 800 call from school) and ask.
Otherwise, if you have access to a computer to which you synced the iPod, or someone you can call does, you can find the serial number in iTunes on that computer. See:

when i tap a name in iphone favorites it uses the number from the name below it

    Try this:
First, turn FaceTime off in Settings>Phone. Then, delete all of your favorites entries. Next, turn FaceTime back on, then add all of your favorites back.

Sorry, there is no way to track your phone. Call your carrier, & if they offer blacklisting, have them blacklist your phone.
Since you're running iOS 7.0. the phone is useless to anyone but you, as it cannot be re-activated without knowing your Apple ID/Password.

  • Use Find My iPhone w/ Just a Serial Number

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 4s from a 4.  After a few weeks, I removed my old phone (iPhone 4) from the Find My iPhone web page application.  About a week ago, I took out the old phone to charge it, and it mysteriously dissappeared.
All I have for the old iPhone is the serial number.  I have a suspecision that a particular person took the phone as that person was at my house around the last time that I remember seeing the phone and shortly thereafter, this unemployed person got an iPhone.  This is only a suspicion, and I will not make and acusation without proof.
Cell phone service for the device was discontinued when the new phone was activated.
Is there any way for me to locate MY iPhone with only the serial number of the device?  Apple support says that there is not.
Surely there is a way to locagte the phone by serial number.  I have proof, via my apple account, that this device is owned by me.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I think find my Iphone was set up, but I'm not sure.  If it has been stolen and someone is now using it, they will probably connect via a cellular network and or wi-fi.
The problem is that I deleted the device from the Find My iPhone web site and now would like to "turn it back on".

  • My ipad was stolen however i have the serial number...is there any way i can see if someone is using it?

My ipad was stolen but I have the serial number.
How can I track it and how can I register my new one?

If they haven't already wiped it and started over, and you activated Find my iPhone on your iPad, you might be able to track it.  If you did not activate Find my iPhone, you will not be able to track it.  Apple will not help you.  But, you should immediately go and change your Apple ID password, and any other passwords you use for accounts like Twitter, Facebood, Mail, Apps you make purchases with, like the Starbucks Mobile App, etc.

  • My ipad was stolen. how to block this stolen ipad by using serial number?

my ipad was stolen. how to block this stolen ipad by using serial number?

You can't. If you had set up MobileMe / Find My iPad on it before it was stolen then you could try locating it either via me.com on a computer or Find My iPhone / Find My iPad on a another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or MobileMe disabled on it.
Apart from that you should report it to the police, and as a safety precaution you should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

  • I lost my iphone, gps is off and its now switched off, can i use serial number to find it?

i lost my iphone tonite i tried to check it with icloud but it showed offline, i rang many times but the phone now is switched off, is there any possible to use serial number to locate my iphone?

For Find My iPhone to work, several things need to happen: the iPhone needs to be connected to the internet, the iPhone needs to not have been wiped. I believe it will turn on Location Services if it receives a Find My iPhone request, but I am not sure.
While the phone is off (or your software and settings are wiped), it can do nothing to help you find it.

  • I did not know about iCloud until after my iPad2 was stolen but I have the serial number so is there any way Apple/iCoud can help trace it when the thief logs into Apple's website /store etc? Thanks

I did not know about iCloud until after my iPad2 was stolen but I know the serial number so is there any hope the thief can be tracked when he or she logs in to the Apple store etc? thanks

iOS devices cannnot be tracked or located with just the serial number. Unless you shared your Apple ID and password with anyone, then your account cannot be accessed at the iTunes Store.

  • How to get MAC Address of a stolen laptop by using Serial number?

Hi my Lenovo G560 laptop was stolen on 17/04/13. I have the serial number. In order to trace the laptop, I need the MAC address. Unfortunately I don't know the MAC address of my stolen laptop. My question is, is it possible to get the MAC address by using serial number?
    Serial Number: xxxxxxxxxx

    hi Subrahmanya,
Sorry to hear about your trouble. Unfortunately, the only way to get the MAC address is to run a query on the unit (physically or or remotely). Using the serial number to query information on the system will list the devices that are included on the unit (this doesn't include the MAC address).
