Add annotation with Adobe Reader
Hello,
We have gotten the RIKLA from Adobe.It is said that PDPageAddNewAnnot will work on any PDF document which has been Reader-Enabled for commenting.But I found it can't work.Is there other method to add annotation? Or maybe I use the wrong method.

I can make the transformation now. But there is still a big problem. After add annotation using COS API, how to notify Acrobat to redraw? Each time I had to minimize the Acrobat to make the annotation show.

How do I manually add the php3 file type to work with Adobe Reader, Safari does this automatically.
downloading php3 files auto jumps to text edit,, cannot tell it to open with "adobereader" , no chance to do so. Tried reading on how I might add the file manually to tell preferences applications to add this file type and open it with adobe reader. Only saw download the file and then firefox will let you open with a program. Can't get there in that text edit opens it.
Safari has no problems with this in that it opens it in adobe reader easily, no work on my part so ????

If you can't coax Firefox into revealing the content type indicated by the server, could you post a link to one of the PDFs, assuming no login is required to access one? -
Is it possible to add tags to files with Adobe Reader?
Hi,
I scan many of my hand-written notes from meetings during my work day. I would love to be able to assign a few tags to the file so that I can find them easier with file searches (in Windows) in the future, without having to put every key word in the file name. Is it possible to do this with just Adobe Reader, or do I need advanced versions of the software?
I look forward to any suggestions!Not possible with Adobe Reader. Possible with Adobe Acrobat. May be that is possible with your scanning software.

Installation Issue with Adobe Reader 11.0.03.
Hello,
I am having issue getting Adobe Reader XI to install onto a machine and needing help resolving it. The machine itself meet and exceed the requirement for the installation. There was a previous version of it installed, but was remove via Group Policy and now it is being deploy via SCCM 2012. So far out of 100+ machines all have successful installed adobe reader XI through the new deployment, except one. Thanks. The PDF file was made from a web site article and I guess this is the same as scanned as I cannot highlight. The cursor changes but cannot highlight what I want.
I was able to add text and I did this in Red and will ask the VA to read under the sections marked in Red.

How do I open a PDF file with Adobe Reader if it is in iBooks
I have a number of PDF files in my iBooks library. I just downloaded Adobe Reader for the iPad. I can't see how I can open those PDF files. The only thing I seem to be able to do with them is to open them from iBooks directly. Doing that does not provide me with the features that Adobe Reader would provide (such as searching for particular text, etc.).
Use iTunes to save the PDF FROM iBooks, and to add them to Adobe Reader.
Connect your iPad to your computer. Bring up iTunes on your computer.
To save a PDF FROM iBooks, click on "Books" in the Library section on the left. Select the PDF you want to save and right-click and choose Show in Finder (Show in Explorer in Windows). Go up one level in your computer hierarchy and you'll see all the "Books" (PDFs and eBooks) in iBooks. You can leave them here if you want to view the PDFs in iBooks in the future, or drag them to the Desktop.
To move the PDF TO Adobe Reader:
Return to iTunes. Click on the iPad on the left in Devices. Click on the Apps tab. Scroll down the the File Sharing section as shown below. Click on Adobe Reader. Click the Add button and select the PDFs you identified in the previous step. They'll be added to Adobe Reader -

one of our authors is using adobe reader x 11,1, and I send him a pdf (enabled commenting and measuring), but for some reason the commenting-fields does not show on his screen?
should I save the pdf in another way?What do you mean by "commenting fields" exactly? By “commenting filds” I mean the tools in top of the page – delete, highlight etc. When I send the pdf, I save it as “file - save as - reader extended pdf – enable commenting and measuring”, otherwise the commenting tools normally don’t appear by the author.

When I try to read a page with Adobe Reader I get the following message:
Adobe Reader cannot show documents in this browser.
Why is that ? It occurer a short period ago, and prior to that I have had no problem.
I have no problem when I use Safari - but normally I prefer Firefox.
So, please help me - and tell me what to do.

Impossible to review pdf with Adobe Reader 9.0
Hello,
I'm trying to use the option in Acrobat sending pdf to review by users working with Adobe Reader but it
doesn't work as described in the help.
I'm sending the review with Acrobat Professional version 7.0 and the receiver with Adobe Reader 9.0.
Normally it should work as it is indicated Adobe Reader 7.0 or higher, but the receiver is not able to add comments and the toolset which should be provide according to the Acrobat review wizard doesn't open.
Who can help?
thx! AnjaWith Acrobat 7 you can only send out Browser Based Review, (which is replaced by shared reviews in version 9).
The reviewers will need to open the PDF inside a browser, and have access to the location of the PDF to be reviewed.

Auto populating a form with Adobe Reader
Hi,
I have a few questions regarding fillable forms- any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Basically, I'm trying to make a fillable form that users can fill in with adobe reader. Within the same document, I need a page that will have several fields that will auto-populate based on the user responses typed into earlier fields. Is this possible to do? I haven't purchased acrobat yet, but if it's possible to make a form like this, then I'll buy the program. I know it's possible to do something similar in MS word, but I find those forms really clunky and they're a pain to use with locking/unlocking etc. Ultimately, I need a form that is very simple to use and can be filled in (including the auto-populate function) with just a basic adobe reader, as not everyone using the form would have acrobat. I also need some options for making the final auto-populating form aesthetically pleasing. Would acrobat do the job?
Thanks again for your help!You might want to explain exactly what you mean by "autopopulate". The answer is yes, it's certainly possible, but may need some scripting depending on exactly what it is you want to do.
Regarding aesthetics, that's up to you. Normally you'd create the form layout in a program such as InDesign, Word, or whatever else you have available and use Acrobat to convert the source document to PDF. You'd then add the interactive form fields in Acrobat and set them up to behave as you want.

How do I open .dll files automatically with Adobe Reader through Firefox?
Hi,
When I print eBay labels through Firefox, a .dll file is downloaded. This used to open automatically in Adobe Reader, but now it opens as a text document in TextEdit, so I have to manually open Adobe Reader, change options to show "all files", and then locate the .dll file and open it.
When I try to change the default application in Firefox preferences, I can't find anything with the content type "dll".
Is there a way to have Firefox automatically open .dll files with Adobe Reader?

I quit out of Firefox, renamed the file like you said, restarted my computer, and restarted Firefox.
When I went to download a label, Firefox asked me which application to use, and I picked Adobe Reader. I also checked the box to make that the default. This automatically opened the file in AR, and then when I did it the next time it worked perfectly.
Again, thank you so much for your help with this - although it's just a bit of time here and there saved it really adds up!

Not able to select annotation in Adobe Reader X

If I hide both toolbar and navigation panel then I am n't able to select annotation in Adobe Reader/Acrobat X. This wasn't the case with earlier version of Adobe.
So is this issue of latest Adobe?

ArvindI checked in version 10.0.1 also. I am not able to select annotation with left mouse button click. This happens only when both toolbar and navigation panel are hidden. You can check this at your end.
And using RMB click, I am able to select annotation. I think this is an issue of latest Adobe as earlier we were able to select using LMB click even when both toolbar and navigation panel are hidden.

Two ways to print a portion of a page: zooming or using the Snapshot Tool.
ZOOMING:
Zoom into the area you want to print.
Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure "Current view" is selected under "More options" (you may need to click "More options" to open it).
If you aren't satisfied with the preview, try clicking "Fit" under the Size button.
SNAPSHOT
Choose Edit > Take A Snapshot.
Drag a rectangle around the area you want to print.
Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure that "Selected Graphic" is selected under "More options".
To enlarge the snapshot to fit the sheet of paper, choose "Fit" under the Size button.
