Add audio to keynote?

Is it possible to add audio to a Keynote presentation?

Yes.
You can add audio files directly from the finder or use the Media Browser in Keynote and click on the audio tab - that will give you access to your iTunes library.
Audio files can be added to an individual slide as an audio object - this allow you to control when the audio starts and also allows more than one audio file on the slide (like sound effects, etc) that can be activated through the Builder Inspector. The length of the audio file can be adjusted using the Quicktime Inspector.
Another way to add audio is to have a background soundtrack that plays across multiple slides. Only one audio soundtrack can be used per presentation file. The audio is placed in the Audio Well of the Document Inspector > Audio tab.
Information about how to use audio as well as types of audio that work with Keynote can be found in the Keynote '09 User Guide available from the Keynote Help Menu (hint: you can download the file as a PDF for future reading).
Good Luck.

  • How to add audio to keynote on iPad

I want to add audio to a presentation on keynote but I don't know how? There isn't an option to add audio in the media section.

    Hello Cami231100,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
It looks like you will have to add the audio in Keynote on your computer, then import the project to your device from iTunes.

You can also include music and sound effects in your presentation by placing an audio file onto a slide. To add an audio file to your presentation, you must first import a presentation that contains the audio file you want to use, and then copy and paste the audio file to any slide or presentation on your iPad.
This article will help you get the project to your computer, so you can add the audio, and will help you get the project back to the iPad.

  • Keynote is an amazing tool for preparing presentations. However, keynote for iOS devices(e.g. iPad) doesnot have the simple way to add audio files in to the files. When we will have the update to add music files right into the keynote slide?

I have been using Keynote for presentation slides to be used in conducting training sessions. Though, Keynote has beautiful interface with elegant transitions to animate, it doesnot provide any way to add audio or music files into the slides in iOS devices alone. I have been waiting for the update to add this very feature, but cannot find it yet. When could we have this upate?

Send Apple feedback and tell them what you want. However, many app versions of programs are skinnied down, and that functionality may not be workable in the App version. Can't know until you suggest it to them however.
Lower right corner of this page, the contact us link, give it a try.

    Hi,
I have a similar problem. I transfered the videos I took with my ipod touch 4g 64gb and now I wanted to add them back into my ipod on photos Camera Roll. I went to the photos tab and checked "Include Videos" but everytime it starts to sync, Itunes stops working and a popout appears and says that Itunes encountered a problem and needs to shut. What can I do?

    Hi,
Error 7 is when a router or the connection to the router is broken in some way.
Some devices have features such as Denial Of Service protection (DoS) that cut a particular Internet Port when it thinks too much data is coming (Presuming it is an attack.)
iChat 5 in Leopard is not capped by the System Preferences > Quicktime Streaming speed (which we used to suggest was set at 1.5Mbps)
It now sees your whole Connection speed and your Upload may be much faster than this.
Your Download is likely to be much faster. However iChat will tend to operate at the lower figure of your Upload.
    DoS features are threshold based.
You may now be bumping in to this Threshold where you were not before.
SPI (Stateful packet Inspection) does a different job but has the same effect when it is overloaded by the speed of the data.
If you have either of these features, turn them Off (Disable them)

  • How do I add audio books to my shuffle

How do I add audio books to my shuffle

If this is a 4th (or 3rd) gen shuffle, and you use automatic syncing for loading songs...  Select the shuffle in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (buttons) starting with Summary.  Click on Books there.  This is the Books tab, where you tell iTunes how to sync audiobooks to the shuffle.  Set it up as desired, and click Apply.
NOTE:  If your shuffle is currently NOT set up for automatic syncing, its content will be replaced by content selected in the sync settings.
If you are NOT using automatic syncing for songs, so you have been loading songs manually by dragging them to the shuffle in iTunes, then you should NOT do the above.  Instead, you can load audiobooks the same way.  Drag the books you want to the shuffle from your Books library in iTunes.
If this is a 1st or 2nd gen shuffle, it is different.  Please post back.

  • Is there a way to make an audio clip not cover the whole project? I want to add audio clip or song and let it start at a certain point in the project. I'm working with iMovie on IPad!

Is there a way to make an audio clip not cover the whole project in iMovie? I want to add audio clip or song and let it start at a certain point in the project. Whenever I add audio or song it covers the whole project. I'm working with iMovie on IPad!

Thank you for your reply Karsten but unfortunately this didn't help me so far. Or maybe I'm missing something?
First the link is a tutorial for iMovie on a Mac. I'm using iMovie on iPad so the steps are inapplicable.
Second it is only possible for me to manipulate the end part of the sound clip to whichever duration I want. But I can't do the same with the 'beginning' of the sound clip.
I simply want to place some photos in the beginning of my video with no sound in the background then after like 2 secs I want to start the music clip. For some reason that is not possible! Cause every time I drop the music clip unto my project timeline it automatically place it self along with the first frame in the project! And consequently the photos and music are forced to start together.
    Hope I'm making sense...

  • Cant add audio to edit from itunes

Hey, I'm having trouble addding music from my iTunes music library. The location of my music files are as follows: Music: Itunes: Itunes Music. When I'm in iMovie HD, and I go to edit: add audio, itunes library, nothing shows up in the list below it. I can't figure out how to do this or what I am doing wrong.

That wasn't it but I restarted iMovie and my music appeared, I think it might have been because I uploaded the music while I was in iMovie.

  • Chapter stops before end of chapter when I add audio

    Hi
Basically the problem is, if I have a timeline with several chapters, each chapter being a different m2v file, then I want to add AC3 files for the audio. I have different AC3 files for each chapter.
Before adding the audio the preview works fine, but if I add audio to a chapter then iy abruptly ends just after a few seconds
    Can you help me please?
    Thanks a lot

Maybe it is just a preview problem. You could burn a
rewritable DVD to test if the final output would be okay.
I don't remember seeing any posts about this problem, but I vaguely recall having seen a thread about an issue with butting AC3 files together in a timeline. Because of the way AC3 files are encoded they aren't necessarily the exact same length as the video. With just one audio and video clip per timeline that doesn't matter. But by stringing AC3 files together you could end up with a sync problem that gets progressively worse.
If at all possible I would suggest to use PCM (.wav) files instead and let Encore handle the conversion to Dolby Digital.

  • Need to play Power Point Presentation with Audio in Keynote

My wife and I have lots of Power Point slide shows with audio from the days when we were windows users. We have downloaded a trial version of iWork 09 and would like to know how we can play these .pps files that contain audio in Keynote.
We appreciate any help that anyone could provide as we would much prefer to use Keynote/iWork than MS Office.

That's interesting about NeoOffice. I keep a copy of it up to date but don't use it too often.
This may be too involved for the OP but I would play the file in NeoOffice and record the audio with WIreTap or similar, export it as an MP3 file and then import it into Keynote.
WIreTap can have its input source set to Mac Audio so that it will record from any application that is capable of producing sound.
