Add bookmark doesn't show folders

MBP 2.6 GHz (2008), 10.6.8, Safari 5.0.5, When I select Add Bookmark... I get a dropdown that shows the webpage, and below that Cancel and Add buttons. Above all of these there should be a pull down with a way to select which folder to store the bookmark in. If I click around where this should be it finally shows up. How do I get it to not be hidden to begin with?

You can do that if you update to Safari 5.1

'Add Bookmark' doesn't always work

Quite often when I try to Add Bookmark (onto the bar, or the menu), nothing happens. I haven't figured out why it sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. Any suggestion?__ (thanks)
I'm currently using Safari 3.2.1 and OSX 10.4.11 on a G5. Lots of free disk space.

ICloud add-in doesn't show up in Outlook 2007 Trust Center

I have installed iCloud two times so far and the add-in doesn't appear at all. Does anybody know how to get/install the add-in?

Bookmarks will not allow me to create folders and organize bookmarks doesn't show the bookmarks I have

I go to "Bookmark this page" then click on "Bookmarks menu" I get a drop down menu that gives me a solection of files to go to and within that is "choose" selection.
When I go there the "new folder" option is greyed out. Therefore I cannot set up a new folder. I am aware that I can create a folder within the bookmarks drop down itself.....but I have always used the above mentioned facility.
Can anyone help please.
BTW I have uninstalled and reinstalled latest version.

My appearance add-on doesn't show enough of the entire picture, so how can I see the whole picture?

I download a few delightful "Appearance" add-ons -- full size -- however only a miniscule part of them show on my screen. And the pert that shows is covered by the tool bars. I have already given up displaying them on my screen, and I've decided I'd like to add them to my photo collection if that would be allowed. Is there a way I could simply download them for wallpaper or file away to look at now and then without signing a contract or anything? I have no desire to post them anywhere or claim them as my own creations.

“Persona” — a type of Apperance add-on — is just a fancy name for a toolbar background. You can show more of the image by adding more toolbars:

Finder doesn't show folders straight away

Hi guys,
For about the past month or so, my Finder window hasn't displayed folders as quickly as it use to... The Finder window will appear as soon as I open it, and my favourites will be listed on the LHS, but if I click on any of them (e.g. Documents), nothing will be displayed in the main window for at least 10 seonds. Even the applications favourite doesn't display my applications for quite a while. It misbehaves less than 50% of the time at the minute, but it will do the same thing in other applcations. For example, when I try to save a Pages document for the first time, none of my folders will be displayed in the save window for quite a while.
While I'm waiting for the folders to appear, I don't see the spinning beach ball, so it doesn't seem as though things are just really slow, they just aren't there for a while...
Any advice/comments would be greatly appreciated! I'm a little worried that my hard drive may be coming to an end!

It finally occurred to me to relaunch Finder (duh!) and now it shows the new files/folders.

after reading your message about how "20Myfolder" works for you, i did a bit more experimenting. it seems like my initial assumption was wrong. it is actual any folders with a period in its name that cause it not to show up. eg. i name my folders "01.Photos"

Bookmarks doesn't show ANY of MY bookmarks I had before I got the new Firefox. Where are they?

Before I got the new Firefox, I'd have to go to a web page, tap MENU, tap BOOKMARKS and a list of ALL my bookmarks would appear.When I tap BOOKMARKS in Firefox now, I get a list of Firefox items and NONE of MY BOOKMARKS are listed. When I tap MENU, bookmarks is not one of the choices. How can I bring up all my bookmarks? Where did they go? I've never lost so much information just by downloading an upgrade. An upgrade to the best ever browser! I've always loved everything about Firefox. Its not only user friendly but I can tell the improvements are state of the art!! Until now that is. I'm confident there will be a positive outcome to my dilemma and I'll be able to continue.

Did you upgrade from an old version of Firefox to a new one? Upgrading should not remove any of your bookmarks or settings, as long as you just install the update (without uninstalling the previous version).
If you switched from a different browser to Firefox, the bookmarks from your old browser will not be imported into Firefox. (This is a feature we would like to add in a future version, but it is not ready yet - sorry.)

FCP X 10.0.9 Import Window doesn't show folders on desktop

Hello,
I have a number of folders on my desktop that contain movie files, jpeg files, you name it. When I try to import from the desktop, the import media window only shows the files and not the folders they are in! I have thousands of files on my desktop! For the life of me I can't figure this out. I have included a screen shot of what my window looks like when I select the desktop to import media. Again, I have a number of folders that don't show up, only the files in them. This is maddening when trying to import files! I know i can move the files to my hard drive but i am used to desktop work flow. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I've not heard of this problem before.
All I can suggest is to try trashing the preferences with this free app.

Shut down FCP X, open PreferenceManager and in the window that appears:-
1. Ensure that FCP X is selected.
2. Click Trash
The job is done instantly and you can re-open FCP X.

I'm getting favicons for most of my bookmarks, so there might be some issue with the coding or the image format.

Open Mail app and then click on Mailboxes(Left up)>Go down and select your Hotmail acoount and then try Refreshing by pulling down the list.

I have no bookmark button in the toolbar. If I add a bookmark it doesn't show up in the sidebar. When I close down the computer everything disappears.

I am unable to edit bookmarks or create folders. I have tried Firefox in the safe mode and the problem does not go away. I have tried all the steps in the troubleshooting section and nothing helps.My bookmarks toolbar always shows as empty no matter how many pages I have bookmarked. I cannot edit a bookmark by clicking on the yellow star. I f I try to edit via History then it will only work occasionally.

Do one or more of the following

> Uninstall & Reinstall iTunes
> Reset iDevice (won't erase everything)
> Go to My Computer (windows xp) or Computer (windows vista & 7) and see if iDevice shows
> Restore the iDevice completely (will erase everything)
> Make sure the iTunes and/or iOS firmware is up-to-date.

"bookmark this page" doesn't show all my folders

I want to save a bookmark in one of the folders in my bookmarks. I hit "bookmarks" then "bookmark this page". The dialog box show up with "bookmarks menu" in the folders box. I expand the folders box and it shows only 3 of my folders and a box labeled "choose". I select "choose" and where before I would get a complete list of bookmarks and folders, now none of my bookmarks show up.
This is a new computer and the bookmark list was moved over from my old one.

Do you only see the default three main folders?
You should have an icon to the left of each of them to expand these main folders and see their sub folders.<br />
Note that this icon may be hard to notice.

Open Folders in Add Bookmark Dropdown

Is there anyway to close the open folders that appear in the Add Bookmark dropdown? I have many folders and subfolders and with them all open when I try to add a bookmark it makes it really hard to find a specific folder. Or is the workaround to just us "Show All Bookmarks" and drag and drop your bookmarks?

If you want to add a bookmark, you should get a dialog box dropping down that let's you select where to save it. But if you don't get that, you can always just save the bookmark to the bookmarks menu, then Show All Bookmarks and move it from there to wherever you like.

Tried to install newest itunes, crashed during install, and now crashes my computer every time i try to uninstall. Itunes doesn't show up in the Add/remove prog list at all. tried to roll back over a month, still crashing.

So I tried to update to the newest Itunes. It locked up my computer part way thru the install. Black screen, computer turned itself off. Now anytime i try to do anything with Itunes it shuts my computer down. I can start up fine in safe mode but when i try to uninstall from there, Itunes doesn't exist. the other apple programs do, but no itunes. when i try to uninstall the other programs in safe mode it tells me it can't because the windows installer isn't loaded. I have system restored to over a month ago and itunes still doesn't show up in add/remove programs. however, i can open itunes. it just tells me a file didn't get installed and to uninstall and reinstall. So, how do i remove a progam that doesn't think it exists and crashes my computer when i try to do anything related to it??? I'm out of ideas. running windows vista.

I think my problem is fixed now.
For the fun of it, I reinstalled iTunes 9.2.1 today (using the exact same installer as I did yesterday), but this time I didn't uninstall iTunes first. As expected, iTunes recognized my iPhone (as I expected it to, until my next reboot).
A few minutes later, Software Update showed up and among the updates is "iPhone SDK Compatibility Update". The description indicates that installing this should fix an issue where iPhones and iPod touches aren't recognized by iTunes. Isn't that interesting?
I installed that update and most of the others waiting for me (including Java, Safari 5.0.1, and a few others - not 10.6.4 though, due to the issues with nVidia graphics cards). After the reboot, I started iTunes, and it saw my iPhone!
So, if you're having this same problem, I'd recommend tracking down this update and see if that does the trick for you. Hopefully it will.
