Add borders to video clip in CS6

Can anyone tell me how to add borders to a video clip that is a PIP please. Premiere CS6

Well, in that case, I think I will just have to change what I am doing. I thought I was being a bit creative, but since creativity is not my strongest trait, I will gladly accept your opinion. It isn't too late, so thanks for providing your feedback.
I thought of using the Polaroid thing, with the larger white area below the pic, but I am using a video aspect ratio that would not accomodate that option. I also have to work around the fact that there are two children in many of the shots who I am not allowed to have in the final output so creative cropping is the way to go.  That is why the snapshot effect is being used primarily. To hide the fact that I am cropping them out.
This is a marketing piece for the school and the parents have refused to sign the release.
Thanks Ann. I appreciate the input.

How can I place a video clip in CS6 within an irregular shape please

Many thanks. I should have mentioned that I meant for the video to be an irregular shape also. However from what you said I have worked it out so thanks again for quick response. Pete.

  • In your opinion is it easier to add keywords to video clips in iPhoto move?

I just discovered keyword in iMovie and I'm loving it, but I noticed it is a recipe process, I'm used to adding keywords in iPhoto and it is so easy there with the shortcuts. Imovies keyword process doesn't seem as intuitive to me? I like to store my videos in iMovie library that way I can easily edit them and see them a ranged by date down the left side.if I stored them in iPhoto I believe iMovie can still see them but they just show up,as a bunch of clips in the iPhoto library section of IMovie,is that right. I'm pretty sure though that in iPhoto I can not add a keyword to only a part of a clip like I can in iMovie.what application do you guys use to add keywords to your video clips?

No, you cannot add keywords to parts of a movie, only the whole thing.

  • How do I add multiple video clips at once to timeline

I would like to add several short video clips to the iMovie (ios) timeline all at once.  Is there a way to accomplish this or do we have to select everything one clip at a time?
    Thanks

or... you can command click to select all the clips you want to apply the effect to, then double click the effect in the Effects browser. (PS - you can't simply drag and drop an effect on multiple clip selections, the effect will only be applied to the clip you drop it on -- but double clicking the effect will apply it to all selected clips at once.)

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
This sounds like a split screen effect to me.
If so, one view on Video 1 and the other directly above that is the other view on Video 2.
Then crop each so that each occupies 1/2 the Edit area monitor screen.
(generalized since I do not know your program version, see effects Transform/Crop).
I wrote the following in 2011 for a Premiere Elements 8 user in another forum
Your basic tools to achieve your goal are Crop Video Effect and Horizontal Flip Video Effect.
Video ONE on video track 1.
Video TWO on video track 2, directly above Video ONE.
Highlight Video ONE on video track 1, Edit Mode/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Crop, followed by adjusting the crop under Edit Effects (see bottom of Effects Panel) so that Video ONE occupies the left half of the screen.
Do the same for Video TWO on video track 2, Edit Mode/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Crop etc. so that Video TWO occupies the right half of the screen. BUT end with Edit Mode/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Horizontal Flip.
Highlight the video on either side to make adjusts in the Properties Palette and appropriate Panel (position, cropping, etc). But, remember that if you make changes in the "flipped" right side of the screen, Edit Effects/Crop Panel right option will be for left and left option will be for right.
You may or may not need the "flip" part of the effect.
Please review and consider. If I have misinterpreted your question, please let me know with details and I will rethink what you seek.
    Thanks.

  • Faces in iPhoto 11 video clips

I used to be able to add "Faces" to video clips in iPhoto. Now with the upgrade to iPhoto11, I can't do it any more. Any ideas?

Previously when videos were imported into iPhoto 09 a jpg was created from the first frame to use as a thumbnail. It's that thumbnail that was scanned by iPhoto for faces and not all faces in the video file.
Many videos end up with a blank frame at the start. So what good is the faces scan if it can only scan what's in the first frame of the video?
I'm guessing that's why it was dropped from iPhoto 11.

  • Need video clips to "fall into place" using scale and position, but Premiere isn't cooperating...

Hey guys, I'm working on a project for a client where I need 50 video clips to "fall" from full screen to a "puzzle" in the background, then I have some after effects to do, but my problem is that I can't seem to get a video to play "underneath" another video. Any suggestions?

Yep they are, as each clip needs to continue to play for the full 30 second spot, so I think you're right I'm going to have to move the project to Ae and do some precomps. Premiere started doing some weird stuff with my video clips (After pre-render it would invert the image and shift them all to black and white) which I couldn't find a fix for, so its back to the drawing board as far as prepping them goes.
I think Ann is right, too. The client supplied all the clips, (1280x720 MTS, 60fps) some of which are an hour long, but I only need 30 seconds or less of each clip so it could also be a conforming issue, as a lot of these files are HUGE. I was hoping my machine could handle it (ASUS G73JH, intel 8-Core i7, ATI HD5870, 12 Gigs RAM, 2TB external swap drive/storage, 1TB Internal HD, 512MB SSD Internal swap drive) just because I'm basically lazy and didn't want to have to pre-render each clip, but now it looks like I'm going to have to. I was hoping there was some new sneaky way of only importing select edits of video clips with CS6, but it looks like its manual edit/export for all 50 of 'em.
Good thing I was paid in advance

  • Moving audio with video clip

i tried to paste audio at playhead, but when i add a new video clip to the movie, the audio does not move with it. does anyone know how to help me!!!! please

When you lock the audio clip to the playhead, it won't move from the video point it was placed at. You need to UNLOCK those audio clips to allow them to move now. Really, you should get your video work in place first and then move/place your audio clips where you need them. That's the simpler way to approach this.
Re-reading your post again, it seems you haven't locked the audio to the playhead because adding video ahead should move everything together. Did you highlight the audio clips you wanted locked before clicking on "Lock to Playhead"? Play with it some more, you'll get it, or do what I suggest about adding the audio after.

  • Video clips seen as Image files

    I'm using Bridge CS5 (4.0.5.11) under Windows 7 64 bit.
Seems that all video files are being seen only as image files, so they can't be played inside of Bridge.  They play fine outside of Bridge, and the same files are properly seen as video clips under CS6 on a different computer.
Anyone ever see this behavior before?

I mean that Bridge will preview the video files as if they were in fact still images.
When you preview a video clip, you get a mini timeline, play button and volume control under the image in the preview window.  When you preview a still image, you don't get those.  Bridge is treating the video clips as if they were still images, so no playback possible.
The two types tested so far are XDCAM MOV files and AVCHD MTS files.  Is it possible support for these types were simply not added until CS6?

  • Stop Motion using photos + combining with video clips

We have about 3000 sequenced photos we want to put together into a Stop Motion video. We would also like to add an actual video clip to the beginning and to the end of the Stop Motiuon segment. Can this all be done in Premiere Pro? If so how? If not - what other Creative Cloud programs should we use and how?
    Thanks.

Why did you ask a new question when you already asked in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1389086

  • How do I add a video clip after my music?

Its sort of a wierd question but basically to me imovie09 is a bust since i cant really see a real timeline to edit my project. But what im trying to do is after i edited my video and the song i have ends i want to add another clip after the song but without the song playing. Everytime i add a clip it either goes to the top of my project or just adds it to the song. basically what im tryign to ask is, how do i add a clip after a song?

ohh ok, so what i need to do is detach the audio and it will become that thin green strip at the bottom of the clips is what you are saying?
you don't like tutorials, don't you?
where does the audio come from?
if you ADD audio/music/voice over to a project, there are TWO options.
    #1:
you drag it into the (grey) background of your Project - and it becomes a background track with its own 'behaviour': it will try to background the WHOLE Project as much as possible. as long there's audio left, any added video/still will lengthen the audio.
    #2:
drag audio ONTO a clip .... it gets connected PLUS it offers the usual options any clip offers; copy/pasting, cutting, fading, effects. here, I added a fade and the last video-clip is audio-less.
    safey?

  • How do you add a video clip to a slide show?

How do you add a video clip to a slide show using elements 12?

You can import some very short video clips into Photoshop and make gifs.  I can import short (10 second or so) .mvi video clips I've taken with my point and shoot camera.
Use File ->Import->Video Frames to Layers
CS3 doesn't recognize .mvi files until you enter *.* in the box, hit load, then find the file you want.
After the file has been loaded, go to Windows, and check Animation.
After the Animation bar loads, go to the right side arrow, check Make Frames from Layers.
Then Save for Web and Devices, and you've got your gif.
I find it much easier to use the separate software.

  • How do you add additional video clips to a multicamera sequence after aligning multiple cameras?

We shoot extended videos (1-2 hours in length)  all the training videos I've seen for CC walk you though aligning the inital cuts and then editing, but they don't say how to add the rest of the clips from that session to each video track.  Any tips?

Thanks Mark - That worked.  By the way, in case there are any other rookies out there trying to create a multicam sequence like this, make sure that you 1) create the MultiCam Source Sequence and then 2) right click on the Multicam sequence icon in the project window and then 3) choose open in timeline.
Once the project is open, verify that the camera views are sync'd and then drag the follow on video clips to the end of the appropriate video track.  Once that is done, right click on the Multicam icon again and choose New Sequence from clip and your complete project will be ready to edit.
Thanks Mark for the quick response.

  • Why is it, if i have one video clip in the timeline, i can't just add a transition at the end of that solo clip to fade to black!?! please help!

hey there, so im making a video for a family event..
i drag in an audio clip all of a sudden this becomes the be all and end all, and i want to sync some vid clips to that audio track, so let's say i drag in a 10 second video clip, at the end of the 10 seconds, i want to add a transition to fade to black.. i go to the transition window.. choose the cross dissolve or fade to colour, but it will not allow me to drag it on that video clip.. it always ends up on the audio track. this bloody application is so confusing compared to final cut. please help!

Ahhh, now I see the problem, Grasshopper.  Problem is, we are all Grasshoppers, here.
Yes, that little piece of info is critical. I'd say the biggest difficulty with FCPX is the whole new language.
If I read you correctly, your Audio is in the Main Storyline (Track 1 in plain old Editorese). This makes anything else you add (above or below) a "connected clip", which we can no longer think of as "Track 2" because Jobs sez so. So, yes, you cannot just add a transition to either end of a connected clip.
No argument with Tracy's solution, because I haven't seen any other general solution presented for any attempt to treat connected clips as the main storyline.  And, of course, when they were "track 1" and "track 2", you could.
An alternative solution, however, is to highlight the connected clip and press Ctrl-V to bring up the Video Animation Editor.  Click the "reveal button" for Compositing: Opacity (bottom, right).  Once open, there is a "fade handle" to the right top.  Drag it left for however much fade you wish.  (there is one on the left as well, but you were only talking about a fade-out.)
A second alternative, perhaps for future projects where everything keys on audio, may be to create a Gap clip (used to be called slug) in the primary storyline before ever dropping in the audio.  Then you can add video to the main story line and modify it without having to go thru hoops to do the simplest thing.
