  • I want to add lion to a second computer in my home.

I went to Apple's site to do this, logged in using the same login I used to purchase and download Lion for my laptop and the site went to a payment page with my credit card info which indicated to me that I was about to be charged. How do I add Lion to a second computer without being charged?
    Thanks

I'm having the same problem and I've tried installing it on the second computer about ten times.  Keeps going to the credit card page.  I'm definitely logged into the MAS using the same AppidID I used to originally purchase Lion, and when I go to "Purchased" Lion is there with all my other purchcased apps, but when I click on "Install" it goes to my credit card page with the info pre-filled except for the CVC code and the button at the bottom right says "Billing Info".  Not sure if clicking on that will charge me again or not?

  • Add iTunes Library to Second Computer

I'm sure this is a very simple thing to do, but have heard horror stories about people losing their entire library, so want to be safe. I have iTunes loaded on my PC and the library is also on my iPod. My wife just got a new PC. I want to add iTunes to her PC, and be able to import all of the content into her iTunes library too. I would think this is as simple as downloading iTunes then connecting the iPod, but I worry something will get messed up and I'll lose all the content I have. Any advice for a novice?

    Hi,
This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329 will walk you through moving your iTunes Library to a new computer.

  • How to add music from a second computer to my iPhone 5

I just got an iPhone 5. I can manually control music from my personal laptop and put it on my iPhone. However I can't add it from my brother's lap top. When ever I try to click "manually manage" on his computer, it tells me to erase everything from my iPhone and sync his library. I did autherize  hi computer. How do I add music from his computer with still keeping all of my current music?

    Thanks AmishCake.
While I'd prefer to not have to do this I suppose it's the only way with my current set up.
Lots of hostile attention on this forum from people who claim to not care about what I do.

  • How can I add AppleTV to a second computer?

Our AppleTV has been used with a PC laptop and shows up in the Preferences and in the iTunes on that PC.  I just recently bought a MAC Book Pro and wanted to be able to add QuickTime movies and iPhoto pictures to our AppleTV wirelessesly.  I can't figure out how to get our AppleTV to show up on my MAC Book though.  I want my PC to be the primary spot for the iTunes so moving it from the original PC to my new one is not an option.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
From the Apple TV select settings > computers > connect to shared library. Take the passcode you are given, click on the Apple TV in the device list in iTunes on the MacBook and enter the passcode.

  • HT1848 I downloaded a book on itunes on one computer and it is not listed on a seconded computer.  Same account.  I have tried updating purchases and transferring recent purchases, transferring purchases from another devices.  Still does not appear.

I purchased a book on one macbook in my itunes account.  I tried to open it on another account while logging into itunes account.  The book does not appear.
I have tried updating purchases, the bottom at the bottom-update purchases from another device.  Still does not appear.

If it's an audiobook then you will need to copy it over from the first computer to the second computer - audiobooks are currently one-time only downloads, so they won't appear under the Purchased link for re-downloading.  If you copied it onto a device from the first computer then you should be able to copy it off that device to the second computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. If it's not on a device and both computers are on the same wifi network then you should be able to copy it over via home sharing (there are instructions on this page), or you can copy it to, for example, a flash drive (you can find it's location on the first computer by control-clicking it in your iTunes library and selecting 'Show In Finder') and then add it to the second computer's iTunes (File > Add To Library).
If it's an ibook then you should be able to re-download it from the store : re-downloading.

  • How do I add a second computer to my account?

How do I add a second computer to my account?

Your single license allows you to have two active installations, meaning you can have it installed and enabled on two machines.  You can have the software installed on as many machines as you like, but only two of them can be in an activated state at a given time.
As far as using the two machines at the same time goes, the jury is currently out on that - I had the question in for clarification but did not get a response yet.  They recently rewrote the license agreement and the portion that explicitly stated you cannot use the two at the same time was either removed or relocated somewhere else that I have yet to find.
If you mean that you want to have another machine licensed for someone else to use then you need to buy a new license for that other person.

  • I need to combine 2 sets of bookmarks in one computer. One set was just replaced -- how do I get it back and add it to the second?

I am combining the contents of 2 computers into one new computer. I did a file transfer from the first, which transferred all of my bookmarks and passwords; when I did a file transfer from the second, it replaced the bookmarks and passwords that had already transferred. I want BOTH sets together as one Bookmark list in my new computer. How do I find the set that has just been replaced and add it to the second transfer?
One last thing -- I can still access the computer from the second transfer, but the first has been wiped clean. I wish I had known that the bookmarks would be replaced before I did the second transfer.

Keep this in mind, when you are restoring a JSON backup it will '''replace''' existing bookmarks (same thing with swapping in a places.sqlite file). When you '''import''' in HTML format, those bookmarks will be '''appended''' to the existing bookmarks.
I think what you need to do is to recover the backup from just before you attempted to add the second set of bookmarks - hope that Firefox automatically backed them up before you replaced them (very strong probability that was done '''if''' you closed Firefox between the two restorations, but if you didn't close and restart Firefox between those actions it may not have happened). That should give you the bookmarks from the first PC that is wiped clean. - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Lost+Bookmarks#w_restoring-bookmark-backups
Then do an '''export''' into HTML format on the 2nd PC that is still operational. '''Import''' that bookmarks.html into the PC you are working on, to add them to the existing bookmarks. <br />
    Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks -> Import & Backup - Export HTML... - to a USB stick <br />
    '''''then''''' <br />
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks -> Import & Backup - Import HTML... - from file on that USB stick

  • HT4913 Hi, I was trying add a second computer on iTunes Match. I was signed into both machines with a single ID which already has iTunes Match. When I selected iTunes match, it asked me to buy it again rather than add. Now I've got it on neither machine-

Hi, I was trying add a second computer on iTunes Match.
I was signed into iTunes on both machines with a single ID which already has iTunes Match from the primary machine. When I selected iTunes match on the second, it asked me to subscribe to it again rather than add.
To try to fix this, I signed out of the primary machine and so i was only in the second computer.  This didnt work and when i tried to log back into Match on the primary machine it has the same problem now, asking me to buy iTunes Match when I already have it!
Now I've got it on neither machine- can someone please help!!
    Cheers,

Only one library can be matched at a time. If you continue, the other iTunes Match session will be stopped and this computer's library will be matched instead.
    Hi,
You often get this message when match thinks that you already have a match in progess on another computer.
If you are happy that all your music is on your new hard drive (or if it is only in the cloud), you should select "this computer".

  • QAdmin won't add second computer unless I make second computer client

In QAdmin, when I go to add a second computer as service node, I get the wheel of misfortune.
However, if I make the second computer controller, I can add the first computer as service node.
I tried booting in safe mode and repairing permissions and resetting QMaster. That did not help.
So, there is something screwed up on my main computer (G4/867 MHz) that is not on the second (g4/800 MHz).
    Both have OS 10.4.8.
    What might I try nest?

    O.K.,
The problem was that the firewall was enabled. I had looked at the check boxes in the sharing/firewall system preferences panel, and other than file sharing which was already selected to be allowed, the other services I guessed wouldn't be used. That was wrong.
Having had dial up since the last century and only in the last two months finally getting DSL service, I was nervous about not having a firewall. I was unaware that the DSL router that the phone company provided already provided firewall protection. Another thing the Apple Tech support person told me was that unless a service in activated, there is no port open to the outside, and thus Apple's software firewall is there just to reassure folks when in fact it is not needed.
When I read in the documentation to turn off the firewall, I wondered how that could seriously be. Was I supposed to not have my home network connected to the internet? This seemed totally screwed up.
But then, it turns out that the software firewall that is part of OSX is not really needed. Can you see Apple having a footnote to that effect in the qmaster documentation? Of course not. We are all supposed to know this stuff.
I did suggest that Apple tech support include a check list of common problems with getting Qmaster up and running for those who call in during the 90-day period for software installation support rather than saying that it is something beyond installation support.
Now of course I have other issues. It looks like it is going to be a long process for me before I realize a functional home cluster for Compressor.

  • I cannot copy the sync code fromthe second computer back to the first!

When I try to sync my PC with my laptop, I am unable to copy the code from my second computer to my PC. I don't know what I am doing wrong - but both come up with a code and I cannot even get as far as putting in my 'sync' number.
Anyhelp would be appreciated. I have tried following the steps given on adding another device but I get stuck when it comes to this three-part code.

No it didn't solve my problem - I still cannot type a code into the "Add a Device' page. A code comes up in both my PC and my laptop - but they appear to be 'fixed' and I cannot type over them into the boxes.
Please help as I want to take my laptop overseas and would like to have my bookmarks and passwords with me.

  • I signed up for sync on one computer and got a pairing code on the second computer but now I can't bring up the pairing screen on the first computer. Why not?

I set up sync on the first computer, then got a sync code on the second computer. Now I can't bring up the sync screen on the first computer to sync them together.

    Hi shopper104, <br>
    # Click the Home button (or type about:home in the location bar) to bring up the default Firefox home page.
    # At the bottom of the home page, click the Sync link to open the Sync settings window.
    # Then click the Pair a device link and the Firefox Sync Setup window will open.
    # Enter the twelve character code generated on your other device and click Next.
    # When the code is accepted you will see a Device Connected message and your device will immediately begin syncing. Click Finish to close the setup window.

  • Can I sync my ipod nano with my second computer/ netbook while travelling?

Looking for some advice on how to connect my IPod nano with my second computer while travelling. That's what happened: I have my iTunes library on my computer at home and can sync my IPod nano (6 th generation, replaced onyl recently) with that library. While I was travelling and wanted to use my IPod I received an error message asking me to connect the IPod with iTunes in order to recover/restore (sorry, the message apeared in German, so I do not know the exact wording in English) . As I only had my second computer - a small netbook - with me, I downloaded iTunes and connected the iPod - only to receive the message that this Ipod would sync with another computer (sure!) and would I want to sync it with this iTunes library instead now? (Of course not, I did not dare because that library was empty!). So there I was with my computer with iTunes library at home and an iPod stuck in recovery mode and not doing a thing during my vacation. Any suggestions? If I have to take my great big workstation with me to get the iPod running again, I might just as well leave the iPod immobile at home. (;-)

On your home computer connect your Nano, click on the name in iTunes, move right to the Summary tab then tick the box that says Manually Manage Music. You will now have to er, manually drag your music to your iPod, and manually eject it when done, but you will be able to add music from two different computers.

  • I have a second computer. How do I get Firefox with my bookmarks etc. on the second computer?

I downloaded firefox, but did not see a sign in function that would bring up the same home page etc on the second computer.

If you are wanting to use Firefox Sync to synchronize the data, you need to set up the account on both computers. For details on using Firefox Sync see https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-firefox-sync
You can copy the bookmarks and other data between the two computers. There are some add-ons and utilities that can make this process easier. The first one is the FEBE add-on ([https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/febe/]) which can be used to copy a profile. Another option is the free MozBackup utility ([http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/]).
