Add cd to iTunes match

I have a stack of CDs to add to my iTunes. I have iTunes Match and wondered if I can add the songs to the cloud without having to wait for the CDs to import on to the hard drive? It would save a great deal of time and disk space if I could. Does anyone know if this can be done?
Thanks

Does anyone know if this can be done?
No, iTunes Match needs the CD tracks as audio files in your library to be able to match them. You can delete the original tracks you imported, after they have been matched with the songs available at the store and keep only the matched versions.

  • Can't add computer to iTunes Match (Windows)

I subscribed to iTunes match and got a confirmation email.  When I click on "Add this computer" on iTunes, a box pops up prompting for my password.  I enter it, and  the iTunes status bar briefly flashes "accessing iTunes store" but then nothing happens.
Am I doing something wrong, and am I the only one having this problem?
    Thanks!

Heres the fix.  I had to manually download iTunes 10.5.1 from Apple's website.  For some reason it wasn't auto updating.  After i finished installing, I opened iTunes, went to Store>Turn On iTunes Match. It prompted me to add my computer, and it went through the process.
Here's the link for the current version of iTunes (10.5.1)

  • Not possible to add computer to iTunes Match

It's a bit of a strange issue. The iTunes Match page in iTunes looks like it does not load a style sheet. Font is in Times New Roman and page looks ugly in general. The buttons "No Thanks" and "Add this computer" do not work. I can click on them, but nothing happens. It does work well on my other Macbook.
I tried solving it by deleting all iTunes references and downloading en re-installating, but no luck. Restarting the program and or computer does not help. The Match page does access the Apple servers on first load.
    Anyone any idea's?

Files in .wav format don't carry a tag, but iTunes should be able to store data for most fields in it's internal database. The main exclusion is artwork which it can sometimes show for .wavs if they are matched with an album on sale in the store but to which you cannot attach your own artwork. Or at least that's the way it works on the Windows build. I can certainly attach comments to my few test .wav tracks and I've just confirmed it works with the current build, 10.2.1.

  • Manually add songs with itunes match

    Hi All,
I am wondering if it is possible to manually add songs to my new iPhone 5s via iTunes and the lightning cable.
I use iTunes match and love the service but it seems crazy that I would have to download 1200 songs plus across the internet to have them on my new handset.
Is there a work around that lets me manually put the songs on my iphone and then enable itunes match without loosing all those songs?
I am on a very slow and data limited internet connection and it will take me months to get all my music across.
    Cheers for any help,
    Elle

I think Apple has to comply with the reality; lately this company I adore is gettin on too much new things way before they work as it's supposed to.
Itunes match is great if I can download my songs on the go, it's a nightmare when I have to add new songs.
Why can't I manage them manually?
Why am I forced to spend money to upload them and again spend money to downolad them when I can use a cheap usb cable?
Apple stop you run and come back to do simple things that seamlessy works, that's what you're famous for; not the "200 new functions" a year that nobody is able to let work...

  • HT4914 how do i add CDs to Itunes Match without the slow uploading process?

Uploading CDs to itunes is really slow. i just want the CDs I have to be available in iTunes at the regular iTunes quality. I can't find any settings to enable this. Has anyone figured out how to?

    Hello jamie,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iTunes Match.
If iTunes determines that the songs that are on the CDs you are importing are in the iTunes Store, it will match the songs rather than uploading them.  If iTunes is unable to locate the songs in the iTunes Store, it will need to upload the songs so that you can access the songs on other devices:
    How iTunes Match works.
iTunes determines which songs in your collection are available in the iTunes Store. Any music with a match is automatically added to iCloud for you to listen to anytime, on any device. Since there are more than 37 million songs in the iTunes Store, chances are your music is already in iCloud.3 And for the few songs that aren’t, iTunes uploads what it can’t match (which is much faster than uploading your entire music library).
Additionally, you can force iTunes to scan your library once you upload new music to your computer:
What if I add new music to my library?
Do I need to tell iTunes Match to scan it?
No. iTunes Match will automatically rescan for content, so you don’t have to. But you can force a refresh by choosing Store > Update iTunes Match in iTunes.

  • Need to re-add computer to iTunes Match each time I open iTunes

Every time I start up iTunes (10.6.1.7) on my Windows Desktop PC (Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit), I see the cloud with lightening bolt icon next to the music item in the iTunes Library indicating that iTunes is not connected with iTunes Match.  I am able to work around the issue easily enough by clicking on the store menu, turning off iTunes Match, and then turning iTunes Match back on (and entering my Apple ID password and waiting a few minutes for iTunes Match to redo the initialization process).  I would like to actually solve the problem instead of having to work around it every time I fire up iTunes.  Any recommendations?
    Thanks!

I have iTunes 10.6.1(7) 64 Bit on OSX Lion 10.7.4 and I have to log into and resetup iTunes Match every time I open iTunes after I have restarted my Mac.

  • Quickly add music without iTunes Match

Ok. I have iTunes Match working perfectly and I love it, except for one thing.
I import a large music file... it's a 1-hour megamix (about 60mb) and I want to immediately get it on my iPhone and head out the door for a workout.
But I have to wait til iTunes uploads the file to iCloud which can take over 15minutes. Then I've got to download it on my iPhone from the cloud.
Is there way I can bypass this and simply drag and drop my music onto my iPhone?
    Thanks in advance.

Not at this time. With iTunes Match enabled direct syncing via USB or Wi Fi is disabled.

  • Imposible to Add a computer to iTunes Match

I just got a new Mac and I've just tried to add it to my Apple Id, and I got a message similar to: "You already exceed your 5 devices" and I understand the message, please avoid to tell me how to deauthorize all the devices, I know how to do that and besides even if I want to I can´t do it because I already did it and I can't do it again until 2013, I know about the limit of 1 deauthorized per year. My concern is not that, iTunes Match is supposed to support up to 10 devices. Until now I did authorized 1 iPhone, 1 PC, 1 iPad and I've just tried my new mac... but something happened and I can't authorized mynew Mac to add all my iTunes Match music trough iCloud.
Any ideas? I am from México and there is no Apple Retail Store to go and made an Genious bar appointment, and the local support here is useless because is trough retailers.
Sorry for the grammar, English is not my born lenguaje.
    Thanks.

  • I want to use iTunes match as "client-only" on one of my computers.

I have an iTunes library at home that is currently sending everything up to Match.  I have my laptop at work that I just want to be able to listen to music from iCloud on.  The laptop has an empty iTunes library, but whenever I click "Add Computer" under iTunes Match, it says it will cancel the matching going on from my other (full) library.

I connected my work iMac today (no local music) and have been streaming my iTunes Match Library all day. No songs have been downloaded locally. You have to click the iCloud Download buttons to actually download the music on another Mac.
Looks like it may be caching the files (sort of an enhanced stream) and not putting them into the iTunes folder.
Play a song in the cloud, turn off internet and play the song again. If it is cached, it will play. If is is simply streamed, it won't.
The cache has a short lifetime - might be on reboot (haven't verified), but you're right, it is caching locally as you play.

  • ITunes Match - Sync with iOS device

I am thinking about buying iTunes Match, but i first wanna make clear some things up...
    here are my questions:
    1. Will I ever have to sync my iPhone again with my computer (over WIFI or Cable) or will my iPhone automatically download the music! Or will i have to individually download the music on to my phone? Because now if I load a new CD in my iTunes i just plug my phone into my MacBook and after that all my selected playlists will be updated and ready to listen to (without any internet conection obviousely), how will this be with iTunes Match?
e.g.: I have this new cool tune that I import and put into my list "my favorite songs"! Will this song immediately be on the same list on my phone? online or offline?
    2. What do I have to do if i wanna delete an album on my computer? But I mean delete it forever, also out of the cloud! how do i do this, and will these tunes also dissapear on my iPhone (like they do now as soon as I sync my iOS device with my Mac)? Will I have this music present in my cloud forever?
    Thank you for your help!
    Cheers
    Yannick B.

    Hello Yannick B.
Once you have enabled iTunes Match and then add music from a CD, it will automatically add those to iTunes Match for you or you can go to a drop down menu Store > Update iTunes Match to add the tracks. If you have iTunes Match enabled on your iPhone, you will see the changes rather quickly once uploaded.
If you want to delete music from iTunes Match, just delete the tracks and a prompt will ask if you want to delete from iCloud. That should answer those questions for you.

  • ITunes Match not syncing with iOS 8.1

    Hello,
It appears tome that iOS8.1 has introduced a new issue with iTunes Match.
If you enable it on the iPhone it will sync properly the first time but after that it will stop syncing.
If I add any new songs, edit songs or albums infos, perform any action, I won't see any of this in my iPhone with iOS 8.1
I even don't have lyrics for songs, which I had with 8.0.2
Do any of you experience the same issue?

I've had this issue since iOS 8. From what I can tell, this issue is isolated to iOS 8; not an iTunes issue or a specific iOS device issue.
Here's my evidence to support that:
    1. I have never, ever had this issue with iTunes Match, and I've used the service since it was introduced. The issue started when I first updated to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5.
    2. I then purchased an iPhone 6 Plus. Issue persists
    3. I then decided to switch out my 6 Plus for a 6. Issue persists.
    4. Here's the kicker: I kept my 3rd generation iPad on iOS 7.1.2. If I add music to iTunes Match, it immediately appears on my iPad.
I've tried several workarounds in an attempt to fix it: Airplane Mode toggle, reboot, restore/setup as new.
I've only found one solution, and it works every time. Turn off iTunes Match on my iPhone, turn it back on, and voila, my newly added music will appear. Very inconvenient though, as this process deletes any of the songs I previously downloaded to my iPhone via iTunes Match.

  • ITunes match being weird on iPad

    Hey,
    Ok, here is my problem.
I have a huge music collection and I tried to add it to iTunes match from my MacBook air. During the iTunes match process it crashed a few times and generally didn't go well, the music collection ended up in a bad iCloud state with lots of the cloud symbols with the exclamation mark in the middle. I then switched iTunes match on on my iPad and the music collection was in a similar state: lots of greyed out songs, some played, some didn't, etc etc
So I then deleted the whole music collection on my Mac taking care to tick the "also delete from iCloud box" so I could start again and give iTunes match another go from scratch. I then added some of the collection bit by bit and it went a lot better on iTunes match. The music collection now seems good with no errors and everything seems to play well. I have only added about 5% of it, but it's looking good so far.
Now here is my problem: I then switched on iTunes match on my iPad and it just sees what was there before: loads of songs that I haven't added yet to iCloud, greyed out songs, errors, etc etc. How can I make my iPad see iTunes match in the state it is now on my Mac, the state it actually is in iCloud?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks.

It actually says 'this device is already associated with an apple id and i cannot use it for match for 37days. What the **** is going on? All my apple id's are the same one. Tis is outrageous for something i've paid for.

  • ITunes Match Loading

I have added some new songs to my laptop (windows 8.1) on iTunes
(Unfortunately I don't have any access to my iMac).
I currently have 858 songs on my iTunes playlist. So I wanted to add them to iTunes Match so all my devices to have all of my songs.
Above is what I am facing. My iTunes Match currently has 844 songs and its loading for like 4 hours ...Those 15 items won't upload to my iTunes Match even if i wait for more.
    What's wrong with it?

I'm afraid there isn't much I can suggest for this, I've been experiencing the same problem like many others since the start of the month. Unfortunately the troubleshooting steps out there don't appear to help with this issue.
I'd recommend contacting Apple Support at https://getsupport.apple.com/Issues.action by selecting iTunes Store > Connecting & Downloading > iTunes Match and pointing them to the community. It appears this isn't getting picked up by anyone and the issue is going unnoticed.

  • Why can't i add playlists to my iPhone from my mac while they are connected? I keep getting the following message "some items (meaning all of them) were not transferred because iTunes match is enabled." This is incredibly frustrating.

I keep getting the following message "some items (meaning all of them) were not transferred because iTunes match is enabled." when I try to drag and drop a playlist, song, or album to my iPhone. This was NEVER a problem before iTunes match or the last iOS update. So what is the deal? Why can't i just add music to my phone from the mac? There is space on the phone. The only way I have found to get the music i want to the phone is to have it download from the phone. This is not something i want to have to do: go through and manually add every album and recreate a playlist on the phone when its there on the mac. And, even more irritating, since the new update, when the phone is plugged into the mac i can't actually view from the mac what music is on the phone. This is incredibly frustrating and any help would be much appreciated in managing my music libraries for each device.

    Hi,
You cannot manually manage music with match turned on on your iOS device. If you want to manage music manually, you will need to turn off match on your iPhone.
