Add channels

Hello to everyone,
I'm having trouble finding out how to manually add channels. I'm using a tv @nywhere master it found a lot of channels but not all.
So now I'm very

puzzled.
Is there anybody out there with the answer ?
Thanxs

Verizon is in negotiations with Fox for FSC HD, so hopefully we'll see that soon. MSG HD and MSG+ HD are still being withheld. Even though MSG has been spun off from Cablevision, they still share the same upper management. The FCC has eliminated the loophole that has prevented Verizon from getting these HD channels, but you can bet that MSG will use every legal means possible to keep the HD signals off of Verizon in order to protect Cablevison.

• HT4799 how do I add channels to apple tv

Hi,
I would llike to find out why my Apple TV does not have channels such as Bloomberg, ESPN, Skynews and others.  I have a Malaysia apple ID?
Is there a way to add these channels to my Apple TV

It is not possible to add channels to the ATV.
Not all features are available in all regions.

• How do I add Channel names to my raw data using a plugin?

I have a Campbell Scientific datalogger which outputs raw data (no headers, etc.)  I need to add channel names and units to this data for display in DIAQdem.  I know there's a way to do it, but I haven't had the class yet (coming to the base soon) and don't have a lot of time to try and figure it out for myself.  I'd appreciate any help that I can get.
I've generated a script using the Data Plugin Wizard, but as expected, it's very long and verbose... most likely has WAY more information in it than I need.

Hi NavyJack
I answered a similar question a while back.  If you just want to add a list of static channel names, then try this approach with your existing DataPlugin that you got from the ASCII DataPlugin Wizard:
http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=60&message.id=8232&query.id=66481#M8232
You are of course absolutely correct that the boiler plate code you get from the ASCII DataPlugin Wizard is way more complicated than you need for your data file.  If you are able to send me a sample data file, I could probably send you back a very simple DataPlugin which would be much easier to tweak for channel names, channel units, etc.
What DIAdem version are you using?

• The cost to add channel SNY?

WHAT IS the cost to add channel SNY?

It depends where you live if you can even get it from Verizon.   Note Direct TV has it national with live games blacked out.  Also it depends which Verizon package if you live an area that gets SNY.
Until you provide your location and package all that can be said is it depends.

• Could not add channel to favorites list. please try again later

Since the last update to my FIOS box a few weeks ago, we've got new HD channels (which I CAN tune to) that I can not add to my favorites list. I get an error that says"could not add channel to favorites list. please try again later". I also tried 'add all to favorites' and it still will not add them. I have removed and re added other channels to make sure the 'mechanism' itself ins't broken.
I've tried manualy powering off and on etc to try to get it working again., but nothing has helped. I use the favorites to tune the box so that I can skip over channels that I don't have (that is to say, my favorites list is just the channels that I get [no HBO etc]) so it's a big hassle to  not be able to have all the channels I have available.
Does anybody know what I can do about this?

You need to call the FSC and have them do an INIT , not just a reset, of your box - this fixed the problem on my 3 STBs.  This will wipe out parental controls, audio compression settings, RF channel output (if applicable), and any other user settings that reside in nonvolatile RAM.   The problem is a corruption of the nonvolatile RAM that can only be fixed by a box initialization - again NOT JUST A RESET.
If it is a DVR you will not lose your recordings and you may or may not lose your series programming settings (I didn't).

• Add 'channel' logo to every frame

Hi,
is there a way to add a tranparent background image to every frame of my movie, as if it was a channel logo ?
I could build a transparent image of the right resolution with the logo on the bottom right. But how do I add it ? Ideas ?
Erik

I have QTPro... How would you do that?
1) Create logo in graphic application like Photoshop with transparent background
2) Export as "Transparent Image" (e.g., with alpha-channel as in a PNG file)
3) Open your edited movie in QT Pro
4) Open the "logo" file using the "Open File" QT Pro option
5) Press Command-A to select the "single frame" logo
6) Press Command-C to store the logo in memory
7) Activate the edited movie player (i.e., mouse click on it)
8) Use the "Add to Selection & Scale" option to add the logo in memory to the edited movie and match the length of the added track to the length of your edited movie
9) Select the "logo" track in the upper half of the properties window and the "Visual Settings" tab in the lower half of the window
10) Set the "Tansparency" pop-up to "Straight Alpha" (Since the logo was the last track added it should be visible, but if it isn't, adjust "Layer" to a "lower" number to place it over your edited movie)
11) I usually reset playhead to beginning of the movie, press Command-B to deselect in/out points and save the file as a "Standalone" MOV file.
And that's all there is to it...

• Can i add channels to my apple tv? iTunes store selection doesnt offer any choices. just to link an account

before I bought my Apple TV I researched what it was supposed to do. it doesnt mirror Angry Birds.
just as a mention, the list of channels i thought i could mirror or watch thru the hockey puck, are just false.
too bad for Apple

Oh yea, by the way, Apples motto… It Just Works shouldn't have taken a year + forums to learn its software. Maybe I missed that page in the consumer users manual, but the whole purpose for Mac/ Apple is a user friendly interface. At least, I thought that was Steve Job's directive.
Why can I download channel apps on my iPhone and iPad but not add the channel apps on my Apple TV like I can on Roku? Since these are available in the App Store, why should I have to use 2 clients to watch 1 channel? Seems counter productive.

• Add channel of audio after capture

I captured some HDV footage of an interview, started editing a sequence with it, and then realized that only the left audio channel (boom mic) had been captured, but not the right channel (lavalier). I have the right channel audio as an aiff. Is there any way I can add it to the master clip so that I can get both channels as I continue editing the project? Recapturing is not an option.
Thank you for any insight.

Select the video (with left ch audio) in the browser, then select the single right channel audio in the browser...command-click on either and select 'merge clips'.
You will be prompted how to sync the clips. If the clips have identical timecode, you could use that. If not, you would want to set inpoints or outpoints on the clips (which are in sync) prior to merging them and select either of those options.
FCP will create a new clip in your browser.
In the FCS1 (FCP5) manual, this would be found in Volume II, Pg. 48.

• Add Channel data in blocks through Data Plugin.

Hi,
I have to create a plugin for a binary data file. I have no probelm creating the plugin, as I know all the required formats but now the issue is I am supposed to load channel values of a specific region of interset. For example, If data file has values of data for the time 0 to 13sec, then I am ssupposed to read in channel with data only between 5 to 9 secs. Can anyone please let me know how can I go about for selective data loading through plugin?
Thanks,
Priya

Hi Priya,
This is not a built-in feature in DIAdem, although R&D is looking into the feasibility of adding this as a feature at some point.  In the meantime I developed my own back-door way of getting the job done.  You can pass the reducing information in a text file of the same name (but different extension) as the binary file, then the DataPlugin can read the data reduction information and declare the binary block to start at the correct byte position, skip the correct number of values, and end at the correct last value for the desired interval.  Below is a simple example of a DataPlugin outfitted with the "Red" routines.

• How to add Channel mixer?

Dear Photoshop Elements Users
I am new to this and for my photography assignment it says I need to edit image using Channel mixer which elements 13 doesn't have.
I am bewildered....
Im trying to work out how and what I need to download (found info that there is free download CS5?) but can't work out where the actual button is to say download now!
can anyone help me?
thanks

Your best bet is to purchase Elements + for $12. It is version specific and has Channel mixer.and a lot more.
About Elements+

• Add Channel Mixer functionality to LR

Something I often do is shoot IR with my Sigma SD-14 by removing the hot mirror/"dust cover." The resulting images are pink-magenta-yellow.
Doing a monochrome conversion in LR really doesn't work, whether auto or something else. Grainy, noisy, looks like crap.
What works great is using the PS channel mixer with the "red filter" preset. PERFECT and OUTSTANDING dynamic range, optimally low grain.
Because the high-precision color sliders in LR don't work like anything at all like the channel mixer, it's not possible to get the equivalent out of LR. You can't just drop out blue and green by sliding them all the way to the left - you get noisy mush.
I would love, love, love to have the channel mixer.

You should try it and see the effect I am describing for yourself. Noise reduction is not helpful. When channel mixing is done correctly there is no need for noise reduction. The high-res sliders in Lightroom and ACR, though, do not do channel mixing. They operate on specific hues and can't be used as an equivalent to channel mixing no matter how you move them around.

• Channel list array adds channel ""

Hi
I have made an application for measuring frequency via a HP34970A.
HP34970A Closes port 101 --> HP5313 measures --> and then HP34970A open the port 101 again. Contunies to port 102.
i want to use #101 & #102 but # "" is added as well, and gives me a 50sec timeout waiting period.
The probe watch for the channel list input shows 101, 102 & "".
On the output it gives me
#101 reads 5,8ms
#102 reads 1,6ms
# ""    reads 0,0000000
How can i remove "" from the channel list? i am sure it is not in the list itself, only 2 channels there.
Thanks,
Solved!

Your loop shouldn't iterate more than twice.  So I see no reason it should try for a third time.  Is there more to the code than what you gave us here?
And you are not opening your relays.  You need to wire the Channel List of your last sequence frame.

• Data acquisition from multiple channels.

Hello
Right now, I am able to acquire the signal from a single load cell and display it.But I would like to know of how to acquire  acquire signals from two load cells simultaneously.I am using Labview 6i and I am using AI S-Scan with AI config to acquire the waveform. It would be of great help if you could suggest a simple method to acquire the signals.
PS: Please find the attached file used for acquisition from a single load cell.
Looking forward for your reply.

Hi Manasa,
If I understand what you are trying to do, it is relatively
straightforward to configure your application to acquire data on two channels.
I was unable to run your vi as it was missing some of the subVI’s
from your application.  However, your
attachment was sufficient to see what you are trying to do.
Here is how to add channels:
1.
In the I/O Channel Constant, you can add
additional channels by using a comma or a semi-colon.  For example, to scan the first four channels
you would put 0:3 in the constant (see attached screenshot ChannelConfig.jpg).  To scan the first and third channel you would
put 0,2.
2.
The AI Single Scan VI will now read from
multiple channels.  Often it easiest to
configure the output of this VI for viewing by first putting the data into an
array using the Build Array VI.  It can
then be plotted in a waveform graph. (see attached screenshot ReadtoGraph.jpg
and WaveFormGraph.jpg)
Just a few notes about “simultaneous” sampling:
Most of the NI data acquisition cards have a multiplexer
between the various input channels and the Analog to Digital (A/D) converter
creating a very small delay between each channel (usually ms range or
smaller).  NI does make several data acquisition
cards that can perform true simultaneous sampling, meaning that there is an A/D
converter for each channel.
For the large majority of applications, the small delay
between channels is negligible.

• The FIOS Channel Listings need to be rearranged.

When I first got FIOS over a year ago, there were slightly less channels, and the channels that were here were well organized by the group of 10 they were in. For example, the 50s are for major entertainment channels. The 70s to 90s are for Sports. It's logical.
But since then, Verizon have seemed to add channels at random. In the 190s, you have both Chiller and FearNET... as wel as E!... as well as the TV Guide Network, FuelTV, and ABCFamily. None of those are related. A ton of these channels need to be rearranged. Why is Sleuth inbetween Bravo and Logo? The 180s are as follows:
180 - Syfy
181 - A&E
182 - CRIME
183 - truTV
184 - GSN
185 - Bravo
186 - Sleuth
187 - LOGO
188 - Ovation
189 - BBC America
There is a logic to that. A&E, CRIME, and truTV should be togther, for example. But Syfy does not belong here. BBC America does not either, although it fits in well with 190 and 191, so I assume you could make that argument, though it breaks the channel listing logic.
The 460s and up don't make any sense to me. I don't even remember I have them. It's a random collection of channels that seem like they belong before the 50s, and are instead dumped at the end of the lineup. At the VERY LEAST, they should be before the PPV Channels, and not after. There's a bunch of PBS channels here, which is bizarre since there are a bunch of PBS channels in the <50s. And while I know you can't fit them in there because of all the Local Channels, it is confusing to me, as well as seemingly hiding the channels from me.
In addition to that, what is with the HD Channels? Some of them don't match their non-HD channel listing number. The Disney Channel is 250, for the non-HD version. For some reason, it is 780 in the HD version. It should be 750.
There are many areas where I would like to see improvement in simple things such as that. It's a much easier thing to fix than adding all the HD Channels I'd want

The only way i can see to do this, is to select your audio track in the timeline and export using Quicktime conversion/ "format" AIFF, check in options that it is set to mono. Save the file and import into Audition. It works for me although I have Soundbooth not Audition.
Good luck.

• Error -200452 depends on channel order

LV 2010, NI-DAQ 9.2.2, Win Vista, cDAQ 9172 chassis, NI-9211, NI-9219.
My client has the same issue with LV 8.6.1, NI-DAQ 9.1.5, Win XP, same hardware.
I am getting an error -200452 (Property not applicable) in a case where I don't understand why.
I'm assigning the user's channels to tasks in preparation for DAQ.
Chan A:  is Device 1, module 1 (NI-9211), channel 1, in TC mode
Chan B is Device 1, module 6( NI-9219), channel 1, in RTD mode.
Since these are on the same DEVICE, they are being assigned to the same TASK.
I am using the property ADC TIMING MODE to get rid of 60 Hz powerline variations in the signal (even sampling at a multiple of 60 Hz doesn't reject it as well as this property does.
The error occurs at the PROPERTY NODE function.
The thing is, if I assign chan A to the task -->BEFORE<--- channel B, then the error occurs.
If I assign chan B --> BEFORE<-- chan A, the error does NOT occur, and all seems well.
I have never imposed any restrictions on my client about having to configure things in a certain order, I don't want to start now.
Why is the order being imposed on me?
The error:
The TC code on 9211:
The RTD code on 9219:

I think the problem stems from the fact that the 9211 does not support the ADC timing property
--- I just found that out when I added the property to the 9211 case, thinking that it was the CHANGE in property value that was triggering the complaint.
and when you are using that property you are assigning it to all of the channels in the task.
--- I'm not sure I understand that.  If I use the property when the task contains A, then B, I get the error.
If I use the property when the task contains B (9219), and then add channel A (9211), I get no error.
Perhaps a clearer way to state it would be:
when you are using that property you are assigning it to all of the channels ALREADY CONFIGURED in the task.
If THAT is the rule, then that would explain it.  If A(9211) is ALREADY in the task when I use the property, then it's trying to apply the property to all channels already in the task, and failing.  If B(9219) is the ONLY one in the task, then the property is legal.  Adding the 9211 later does NOT try to apply the property to it.
Does that sound right?
Why don't you trying using the 'ActiveChans' property node to specify what channel you need:
--- I was hoping to be done with each channel as I process it.  (I am processing a list of channels that the user has specified, in no particular order, and I have to configure NI-DAQ from that list).
I suppose I can add each non 9211 channel to a list, and then use the ACTIVE CHANS along with ADC TIMING MODE to specify.
Or maybe I can use the ACTIVE CHANS list AS I APPLY IT.  That would mean several calls to the TIMING MODE property, one for each non-9211 channel.
What's confusing me is the statement "You must use the same ADC timing mode for all channels on a device" from the HELP for ADC TIMING MODE.
If one of those channels is a 9211 and another is not, then that statement is obviously not true.
