Well there's sommeting missing (or that i cannot find) in iWeb...
How to add the possiblity to let visitor the option to "add comments" on our blog ???
Most of Blog editors include this option, so i'm surprise apple forget this option ???
I saw the post with iComments... but is it the only solution to have comments on our blog "create on a mac" ?

Could those of you who haven't done so please provide your site URLs. It may help in isolating this problem if we can see exactly what's happening.
In another similar thread where I've checked a provided URL I've noticed that the blog text has been converted to an image, and I'm beginning to wonder if this is what's causing the problem. There's certainly something strange showing up in the source for that site which doesn't apply to Joel Suplido's blog pages which work correctly.

  • Error when people attempt to add comment on my blog?!?

    hey guys, first post!
Ok, so I've just enabled people to add comments to my blog, but when ever anyone clicks the 'add comment' button, a box pops up and says 'We're sorry. We are having a problem processing your request'. to see in action, go to www.theeversonfamily.co.uk and go to my blog.
what can i do to sort this out? Really owe anyone who can help out!
    thanks chris

I was having this same problem so this is what fixed it, I don't know if it will stay fixed because I just did it a few minutes ago but it did allow comments to be posted.
    Click on Inspector.
    Click on RSS.
Check Allow Comments AND Allow Attachments.
    Then Publish.
Once I saw that it was working I went back and unchecked Allow Attachments and it still worked. Good luck!

  • Comments on the blog of iweb '06 does not work

When someone tries to leave a comment on my blog on my iweb website, it seems to not allow people to do so. What could the problem possibly be?

If you still have problems with comments on your iWeb blog, you could hyperlink from your iWeb site to a web-based blog. For example, the free Posterous is as simple as blogging gets — you can post a blog entry via email or from a web browser:
...And since your blog would no longer be stored on your Mac, you'll avoid the future possibility of having to do a long and slow +Publish All+.
If you went with a new blogging system, you could perhaps use an archiving app such as iterasi to preserve your current blog for posterity before removing it from iWeb.

  • Comments added to blog change page's appearance

    Hi,
I'm sorry if this is a repeat posting, but I couldn't find anything about it after a perfunctory search.
When people add comments to my blog, it upsets the vertical layout of the page (i.e. white space doesn't stretch as far as it should). Looking at the pages in iWeb, there doesn't seem to be a problem.
    This page for example:
    http://web.mac.com/mccormickdavid/iWeb/TrombonesInTechno/Blog/2E725615-0820-47EB -A9A7-9256043FABA9.html
the space behind 'bosh blog podcast photos' should be white up to the black bar (and appears so in iWeb). Same applies at the bottom of the page.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance,
    David
p.s. apologies for the mundane nature of the site.

I have seen this problem with the shifting background before. Your ultimate option is to eliminate the page background and let the browser background show through.
Another workaround might be to make a screenshot of a square of white space (your background), then use that square as your page background image...choose tiled in the dropdown menu of the inspector.

Visitors have not been able to add comments to my blog page. I have read all of the Discussion related topics, publlished & re-published, and still cannot add comments-mostly because on a pc I cannot see the letters that I have to put in the little box, and on my MBP it may say something llike I entered the incorrect letters/numbers, and this last time it looked llike I was going to be able to add my comment, and then I got the above message.
Please let me know what I need to do to make my "Add Comment" work, and thank you for your help.

You haven't a problem. You simply did not read the iWeb Help :

  • How come you can't add comments to blog that you create in IWeb unless you have a mobileme account when you can no longer get an account.

I have a site that i'm working on for class and i need to be able to have people comment on my blogs and stiff and they can't because im using FTP because I don't have a mobileme account.  WIll this be changing soon that you can all comments to your site using IWeb.

You need to use a commenting system like Disqus or Intense Debate...

  • IWeb Add Comment Functionality

I have set up a blog where users can add a comment. This works fine for me using firefox on an imac, and on my laptop using xp and IE 6.
However some windows users using IE 7 are having issues, whenever they click Add comment the form that pops up is blank or the Add Comment button on the new form is missing ?
Anyone know why ? Is it an IE 7 issue ?
    Thanks

What you should do is look at this link it should help a bunch!! Please mark it as solved if it does work!

  • New blog entries experience "error updating .Mac", and no "add comments"

Blog always worked fine. Now new blog entries get error updating .Mac message. New post does appear online, but there is no Add Comments option, despite it being selected in the inspector. Also, the blog main page doesn't show a title in the title bar at top. Might this have something to do with the new Mobile Me features (which I haven't tried or signed up for). When I delete the new posting and publish, it publishes fine. This error even happens with the template pg, so it's not anything to do with my formatting. Thanks for your help.

I have not tried publishing a new Blog entry since the new "me" thing, but I did try just a text edit on an existing Entry and republished the Entry. It seemed to function normally.
However, all of my Comments are missing from all my Blog entries - although the hit counts are still there.
And my Slide Shows won;t work and thumbnails won't enlarge on my photo pages.
Everything was working perfectly before this big "improvement" we just got.
I sure hope this is temporary or I just might throw a fit. There was a lot of valuable stuff in those comments, and if there won;t be a Comments function at all, I won't be able to keep my blog at mac. com or me whatever.
    Why fix what isn't broken?

  • Add comment error - can't post entries to blog

I helped my daughter create a website with a blog page for a school project. I've used the iWeb inspector to allow comments and images. It worked during an early publish to but the add comment no longer works. A box opens now that reads "This entry no longer exists. The entry may have been moved or deleted." Her project is now due for school and the blog won't work. Any help would be appreciated. I am posting via .Mac.

The error occurs when accessing the site via the web. Site access is fine and all pages but the blog work. I haven't been doing the captial W, but I would think that would just keep me from finding the site - I'll try it though. On the post-publish comment, I've certainly updated the site as it was built. So if I change the website at all and re-publish, it disables commenting? Can I get commenting back or do I have to build the site from scratch? Thanks.

  • Can you add an RSS feed on an iweb blog that would allow visitors to receive new entries by email?

Can you add an RSS feed on an iweb blog that would allow visitors to receive new blog entries through their email?

RSS feeds don't do that - if they add the feed to an RSS reader (including Safari or FireFox) they will see new updates every time they check: but sending them emails on each added episode would require extra programming in the actual program, which iWeb doesn't provide. You would need to have a mailing list and send out an email manually each time you add an episode.

  • Comments - appearing on blog but upon opening iWeb no comment are shown

I am unable to edit/delete my comments because they are not appearing on iWeb when I open it on my computer. However, the comments are appearing on the blog. For instance, on my most recent entry there are 4 comments but when I open iWeb on my MacBook Pro it shows no comments. Weird? Any ideas?

Answered my own question - apparently it was a glitch and when I published a new blog entry the old comments appeared. Just a glitch I guess.

  • Comments don't appear in iWeb (3.01) application

Exactly as the subject says really.
Comments seems to be working OK on my published site (me.com account). Visitors can add comments, I can view and delete them online but they don't appear in the iWeb application.
The dock count increases when I have a new comment and blue dot appears in the entries list next the blog entry that has a comment. However, when I select an entry that definitely has a comment (online) I scroll to the end of the page (in iWeb) and nothing appears. The last part of the page just says is "Add a comment".
Anyone seen anything similar? Do you have a fix?
I would really like to be able to read the comment offline.
    cheers
    -darrell

If you click on the Entries page in iWeb the entries can be selected and each will have the commenst that were posted at the time iWeb was opened. I'm not sure what you have to do to refresh the comments if you've had iWeb open for a while. I opened and closed the site icon in iWeb and it refreshed the comments along with adding the number of new comments on the iWeb icon in the Dock.
