Add email account after installing 8.0.2

I had to delete my email account since it froze. iPad 2 will not accept the same info to add the account back. Any ideas how to get me email account back on the iPad?

    I have tried to search to see where this has been covered previously and have followed many of the helpful suggestions.
    I have updated to IOS 6. On IPhone 4.
    I was unable to send email. I have followed all tips such as switching phone off.
    I have deleted email account as it kept saying "null accout is already configured..".
    Now I can't add my email account again.
    I have been on email providers website and can get web mail fine.
    Any suggestions would be most welcome.

    precisely the same issue on 2 computers on 10.9 and 10.10
    - the accounts are google apps for business accounts
    - imap is on
    - 2 step verification is off
    - upgrading the 10.9 machines resulted in the same issue/error
    - running onyx and cleaning out everything did nothing
    - trashing mail prefs nothing
    - creating new user account on the macs...same issue
    - i can setup the accounts on my own 10.10 machine (ios also works for those 2 accounts)
    completely dead in the water....my next step to try is to clean install the 2 effected machine....

    I'm afraid that I have the very same problem. How did Apple not see this. Surly email is a major part of any opperating system and should have being more than double checked before releasing. I understand software glitches but this is a major pain in the backside. I'm totally stuck and can't use my macbook pro

    Mail doesn't sync properly with my university IMAP mail account after installing LION... worked great before with snow leopard.
    when i try to configer the "incoming mail server" section, I fill everything out correctly and yet I get this message:
    "can't verify the identity of imap.'myuniversityname'.ca"
    there is some text explaining it after. If i press continue anyway, no new messages are transfered from my university server to mail on my mac.
    I am running a 2010 13" macbookpro

    You might put in a call to your university's tech support department. What you're experiencing is likely an issue they can help you with.

  • How to add email accounts on Ipad 2

    I can't add email accounts on my Ipad 2. When I select Settings, Email-Contacts-calendar  the Ipad returns to the begin screen. I don not get any possibility to select an email provider or add an account. Just the begin screen.

    iphone does support hotmail, but Windows Mail (Windows Vista) does not support Hotmail. you also need to have a subscription to hotmail (aka windows live)....they no longer allow IMAP/POP access w/ free accounts. i purchased the Hotmail Plus subscription for 19.95 yearly ($1.66/month) - this is the cheapest one.
    here are the Hotmail settings for iphone:
    Select OTHER for mail account:

    address: full e-mail address

    save
    choose POP
    incoming mail server:

    user name: full e-mail address

    When I signed up for iCloud, I was told I could keep my .me email address, but now I'm not so sure. What do I need to know?
    Also, does iCloud have anything like iDisk for sharing large files, or should I be using something like DropBox?

    Nobody who had an @me.com email address has lost it, as long as they followed Apple's repeated advice to migrate to iCloud before June 30th last year (2012).
    If you failed to do as Apple said, then your old MobileMe account will have been deleted along with its contents. Apple were telling customers for over a year what to do and by when.
    You were warned repeatedly that MobileMe was ending and that you needed to migrate to iCloud 18 months ago to retain your @me.com address.
    Why are you commenting on this so long after the cut off date?

    ok just bought a macbook pro retina. im trying to add email accounts to it. i have yahoo msn gmail and hotmail accounts i need to add. every time i fill in the add accounts it will not accept any passwords nor will it save any under preferences.im not stuck,any help? my ipad accepts them as does my galaxy note phone,but this will not no matter what i do?

    You can add an email account by connecting to your computer's iTunes, selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes and on the right-hand side use the Info tab to sync the account's settings from, for example, Outlook on your PC or Mail if using a Mac. Or you can add the account's details manually via Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account.
    If terms of a security lock do you mean for the iPad as a whole ? You can't password protect the Mail app, but for the iPad you can set one via Settings > General > Passcode Lock - but if you do set one remember it, as the only way to remove the lock if you forget it is to restore the iPad via your computer's iTunes

  • Send Picture via Email, Prompted to add Email Account (Exchange Account exists)

    I recently deployed a Kerberos authenticated Exchange account to a dozen iPhones (4S's and 5's) in our department and lost the ability to send a picture using Photos->Sendto button ->Mail.  I get prompted to add a new mail account.
    However, there is a working Exchange account already added to the phone.  This is a function that previously worked, the only difference that I can think of is that this new account is certificate authenticated and using Kerberos, so there is no password programmed into the account.  I am thinking that this is making the iPhone think that the account isn't completely setup.
    I can send a photo by opening a new email message and manually attaching the photo there, but my users are going to freak out when we go company wide with this new mailbox.  Any suggestions?

  • EMAIL problem after installing 10.10.2

    I noticed that an email I sent out last night (through gmail) had not gone out.  I also noticed that one of my emails had an image that wouldn't download.  The email was there, but not the image.  I got the circle, and eventually a timeout notice.  I can't delete the email in question; it just comes back.  Any idea what might be going on here?  My other three accounts are working okay -- or at least it seems so.

    If the old email account is a non-iCloud email account, then yes.  You will continue to receive email from your old account as long as it is still set up in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars.
    However, if the old email account is an iCloud email account, you will have to add it back on your devices in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud, then sign in with your old iCloud account IC, in order to continue to receive it on your devices.  If you do this, the old email will be fetch only, not push.

    Just got a blackberry curve 9220 to but my extra number on it as it was for a very good price. 
    The thing is i don't want to register to my network data plan i want to use this device only with wifi
    the thing is i can not add my Gmail account!
    All toutrials shows that when i click add an email account i shoud have internet email account or enterprise account.
    Every time i click on the setup an email the next window is "Activate Enterprise Account" 
    Is there anyway around this or that's it i have to get a data plan to use my balckberry?!!

  • Outgoing email issues after install of iOS5

    Getting a message that "cannot send mail", recipient was rejected by server.
    This has started after installation of iOS5 this AM.
    No problem receiving mail.
    Outgoing settings appear to be correct.
    Suggestions?

    Delete the email account and then add it back again. This process will reverify your login info and server settings.
