Add email address

I have just aquired a Blackberry Curve 8520 and have been unable to add my personal email address.  I have tried all the usual set up systems, asked my email provider for help and my pay as you go contract provider but all have failed.  I am told my email and password must be incorrect.  I have changed my password to a new one but that doesn't work either.  Not getting anywhere. Please advise!  Davyjones

Have agreed to pay Tesco extra £5 a month for Blackberry - is that the same?
Yes, it should be, but it sounds like you're not yet provisioned.
Additional things you might try:
1) Register HRT:     (OS5) Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Scoll to any line entry and > press the Menu key  > and then click Register Now. If you have an OS 6 device, Look at Options > Device > Advanced... etc.
2) Resend Service Books:   KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

  • Option to create or add email address

Option for to create or add email address in email setup in not display. What could be reason. Can anyone suggest me for this.

    Hello,
I'm not quite sure exactly to what you are referring...can you provide more complete details please? For example, are you not able to create a hosted (e.g., @carrier or @BB) email address? Or is it that you cannot add into the email configuration your existing (e.g., Yahoo, GMail, etc.) account?
    Thanks and let us know!

  • HT201320 Can't Add Email address for FaceTime or Messaging????

Just bought replacement Ipod touch because battery died on old one, can't add email address for facetime and messaging because it says it is already in use.  Don't have any information on old ipod...any suggestions?  I was able to add the address for mail, but it won't let me add it for messaging or FaceTime.

Did you register your old ipod with apple?  If so go here https://supportprofile.apple.com and delete it from your profile

  • How to add email address to contacts

Running Miuntain Lion. How do I add an email address to the contacts. When I add a contact I can add the name and address but there is no place to add an email address only a home or work address. I tried adding the email address in both of those columns with no luck.

Open Contacts' Preferences (under Contacts in the menu bar).  Choose Templates at the top.  You should see something like this:
The field I circled says "email" in there.  If you don't see one of these fields, use "Add Field" in the upper left.

  • How do I automatically add email addresses to the address book?

I'm trying to work out a way to ensure incoming messages to Mail with a specific phrase in the subject line will have their email addresses automatically added to a specific group in my address book. Any ideas?

I have one that is close, so I have made a couple of changes and it MIGHT do the job. I recommend backing up your address book before trying. You will need to change the script at line 3 to use whatever group name you want. The script will most likely fail if the group does not exist. This version has had very limited testing, and in particular there is no error handling built in - I don't know how it will behave if the sender of the mail has not provided a two-part personal name.
Store the script in your (not the system) Library/Scripts/Applications/Mail and point your rule at it. You will also be able to use it by selecting messages in mail and using the Scripts menu.
    AK
click here to open this script in your editor<pre style="font-family: 'Monaco', 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; overflow:auto; color: #222; background: #DDD; padding: 0.2em; font-size: 10px; width:400px">using terms from application "Mail"

  • How to add email address based on email alias? Get-Mailbox | Set-Mailbox -EmailAddresses @{add= $_.Alias + "@TEST"}

I can't get this to work via the pipeline, but if I type in someones specific email address to get, it works fine.  Any help on the syntax?
    Thanks!
    Get-Mailbox [email protected] | Set-Mailbox -EmailAddresses @{add= $_.Alias + "@TEST"}
: NOT WORKING.  This just adds "@TEST" to the email addresses
    $test = Get-Mailbox [email protected]
    Get-Mailbox [email protected] | Set-Mailbox -EmailAddresses @{add= $test.Alias + "@TEST"}            : WORKING.  This adds "me@TEST" to the email addresses

Wow, lots to try!  Thanks for the help.
Can you help me understand what this is doing?
    @{Add="$($_.Alias)@TEST"}
I understand $_ is the current object in the pipeline, but how do I interpret the $($_.Alias)?
Sure, the extra $() surrounding $_.Alias is known as the subexpression operator:
    http://ss64.com/ps/syntax-operators.html
Basically this allows you to use a property directly inside of a string. It's important to use double quotes in this instance, so the string can expand.
EDIT: Here's an example you can run with Get-Mailbox:
    Get-Mailbox |
    ForEach { Write-Host "This will append @TEST to the username: $($_.SamAccountName)@TEST" }

  • Cannot add email addresses from my address book

I can send one email using my address book by clicking "send email" in the drop down menu. I cannot add multiple email addresses from the address book - each time I clid "send email" an entirely new message is craeated. I don't necessarily need a group. I am using new mail in Lion, mail 5.2. "To" no longer is an active link to the address book. Is there a way to make it work like mail worked before this upgrade?

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking.  If you are coming from pre-Mountain Lion, then Address Book has changed to Contacts.
    Open Contacts.
Select an Account in the group list, if you want the contact in a specific group. If Groups aren't showing, you can display them from the View menu.
Click the Add card button ( + ).
Enter the information for the contact.
If you need multiple entries for a particular field type, a new blank entry will show up below the one you are adding.
If you need other fields, use the Card menu to Add a new field type.
If you want to change the default fields available when you create a new card, choose Edit Template…
If you have sent emails to someone and you want to get that address to add to a Contact, use the Previous Recipients command in the View menu in Mail.
If you need to add a new Group, hover the cursor over the account name, and a + button will appear. Click it.

  • How to add email addresses to my address book?

I want to add important email addresses to my address book but I do not know how to do this. How can I do this?

Wow. Do you really have Firefox 3.0b5? It's ancient. You should update Firefox by downloading the current version from http://mozilla.org/firefox and running the installer.
Firefox doesn't have an address book - it's a Web browser. You'll need to visit the support site for whatever e-mail application you are using. If it's Mozilla Thunderbird, visit http://support.mozillamessaging.com/

  • OS X Server 4 not allowing me to add email addresses

Yesterday, working with OS X Server 4 Mail (running under Yosemite) I created a domain and managed to add three email addresses. No problem.
Today I'm trying to add a fourth address for that same domain: I hit the plus button, and type in the name; when I hit tab to advance to the address field, Server instead deletes the entry. When I try clicking on the address field, again the entire entry is deleted.
Is there a use case for "delete new entry before user can type address in" ?
    -Mike

No, I am not even given an option to say it is IMAP it assumes and only allows a POP3 (which is different than the screenshots Earthlink has)
Using Earthlink name rather than the older one for an error did allow me to later then edit it to a IMAP Email, then I had to correct about 3 settings that iOS got wrong for the server settings
    Under Know issues https://support.earthlink.net/articles/email/imap-email.php#1-3
"Some email programs will try to guess the settings before they allow you to manually enter them.  If the program does not use the right settings, you may receive an initial error when it attempts to confirm your email settings.  You will have to manually configure these programs after the initial attempt by the software fails.  This is commonly seen in Thunderbird and iOS devices like iPhones and iPads.  "

  • Who is Mail not allowing me to add email address?

    Hello,
I am having trouble with "Mail" i was wondering if any one of you guys can help.
I am trying to add my Office 360 email on mail, i added it on my iPhone but can't seem to add it on my Mac. It is coming up with an error saying "Please fill out the email address field correctly.....".
I am assuming because my website (lets call it xxx) is not .com or .net instead .Digital extension.
    Help! thank you!

I've tried the paper clip attach button in the new mail window, right mouse on file in Finder, compress and email. Nothing works.
Drag and drop will create a link to the file and show an icon but its only a link, not the actual file. If I send this, the recipient cannot open the file as the raw source is like this:

  • Add Email Address on My Apple ID Web Page

There is an option to add an additional email address on the MY Apple ID Web page.
It it located below my Alternate Email Address.
If I add an email address with a @me.com host address I receive the error: "Email is already verified for another apple ID".  I can enter any combination of names and the same error occurs.  Obviously,  the error is not related to the name I enter.  So the question is:  What is the system expecting as a proper name and host for a new email address?  If it is a non Apple host, will it be created as an address similar to my Primary Apple ID?  And what if anything is it different from an address I create without being created on the "My Apple ID" web page?
    Howie

    Good day ESL1016,
If you change the email address associated with your Apple ID there are a number of places that have settings that need to be changed. One is in the Messages application. This article explains how to make those changes -
What to do after you change your Apple ID email address or password - Apple Support
Look for the section titled Messages and under it Mac with OS X Mountain Lion or later.
Open the Messages app, select Messages > Preferences, then click the Accounts icon.
If you're signed out, click Accounts and sign in with your updated Apple ID or password.
If you're signed in with your previous Apple ID, click Accounts, then select your Apple ID from the list of accounts. Click Sign Out, then click Sign Out again when asked to confirm. Sign in with your updated Apple ID or password.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Safe computing,

  • Add email address for all users on server

We recently upgraded one of our servers to Yosemite Server from Mavericks, while everything migrated over basically with out any problems for what ever reason it cleared out all the email address's for users in the open directory database.
Is there a way to quickly add back in the email address [email protected] to each open directory account on the server, while it would be possible to do each one by hand we have over 4,000 users on the server and each needs to be getting mail on multiple domains on hosted by the server.
