Add event to calender and edit and add contacts

I updated my Iphone and now I can not figue out how to add and event to my calender or edit or add a new contact!!!

I had the same problem. I had to go to Settings, iCloud and turn on Calendars.

I am very tired of clicking pages wich do not contain the anwsers.
Meanwhile, my friends and colleagues laugh at me, with their smasung's, HTC 's, LG 's, and iPhone's.
Which all sync (nearly) hassle-free with all they want.

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum.
Please reset and update the phone to fix any software issues you're experiencing on both your E7 and N8.
Connect your phone to Nokia Suite and create a back up via Tools > Back up.
Now disconnect the phone from Nokia Suite and enter *#7370# and default security code 12345 into your phone. Once the phone has rebooted, please reconnect with Nokia Suite and click on the green arrow icon where you will be able to update the phone to it's latest software version. If no update is listed, please reinstall the current software. This option is displayed in blue.
When the updated has completed, please restore the back up via Restore > Back up.
You should now have a fully working phone. If you're still experiencing difficulties with your Email account, please delete the account and reconfigure, you can do this via Menu > Mail > Select the email account > Long press > Delete mailbox.
If the above doesn't work, please contact your local Care line where they will be able to look at your previous repairs and look for a solution.
Please get back to me if you manage to resolve the issue, otherwise I can provide further support.

I was really frustrated by this change in Lion as I prefer to use the month view and I hate the way it defaults to an all day event. So I was very pleased to find this solution in the Mac OS X Hints. Simply type "Dinner at 6 pm" and it enters "Dinner" at 6 pm for one hour. If you want anything other than an hour, put "6 - 8 pm" (or whatever period you want. Brilliant. Just wish Apple figured out a way to tell me that without having to search the communities here for an answer.

i have done the same activity ( buy a new iphone 4 -> upgrade to ios5 - > configure email) with success-
than when i start to move the contacts from old mobile to iphone (using the microsim) i receive the same crash
in disgnosis e use i saw 2 dump with this title 'latestCrash-Preferences.plist and LatestCrash.plist. in each file the date is the same and i read:

I am not sure how this works but it seems that it may be all or nothing.
To turn off Facebook events on your device:
Settings > Facebook > Calendars > Off

My husband and I share an account. He has a very large number of contacts that I do not need and don't want on my phone. I turned off syncing my contacts to the cloud for this reason but now do not seem to have the ability to add contacts or edit my existing contacts. Any suggestions?

It seems like you need to set up your own iCloud account. Just set one up different from his. Create a new one if you don't have another already.

On his phone, sign in Settings>iCloud and enable Mail so that he can have his own email address. Then add your account in Settings>Mail, Contacts & Calendars and enable Contacts and Calendars. They will then appear on his phone alongside any syncing he has set up. This will keep your emails separate, or you can add Mail as well so that you can both access that if you want. You can add his account in the same way on your phone and enable any data types you want to sync.

Troubleshooting a start up script can be difficult. There are some third party programs that also keep logs of start up programs, however for Firefox this may be different.

In the control panel there is also Administrative tools to view event logs, but this may be something a local technician can walk you through.

My ipod isnt letting me add contacts at all i open it up and then i see the sign but a second later it goes away

You'll have to restore your iPod as new. If you restore your iPod and then restore it from the backup you'll just be putting the problem right back on it.

My requirement is to add Contact's Phone number and Email on Lead result list.

I have enhanced context node ' Result ' and added new field through wizard (Ex: ContactPhone) using following details.
add model attribute:
BOL entity: BuilContactPerson
BOL Attribute: TEL1_NUMBR
After the successful creation, i added ContactPhone field from available fields to display fields.now i could able to see the newly added field on Lead result list.i see message 'BTPARTNER not bound' under telephone colomn for each record.
Can we add these two fields from standard BOL structure and use it , so that no coding required, system will take care of data retrieval?
or should i go with adding custom fields and write logic to get the data for each lead's contact?
please help me with approach and on above error.

Hi Ganga,
Since these fields are in a table view, its not possible to bind them with the standard BuilHeader BOL Object. Hence, we need to write the custom logic for these methods.
You have two options here.
Option 1:
Add the fields in the result structure and modify the Genil Search class logic and replace the standard GENIL class with custom class.
Option 2:
Create the custom attribute directly in the BOL structure and write the custom logic in getter method.

I was informed that I should be able to FaceTime from my laptop via video call without an iPhone.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
1. The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
2. Connect to a different network, such as a public Wi-Fi hotspot, and try again.
