Add existing project to DTR

Hello,

I created my workspaces after the projects.
Thanks for help,
André

Hi Andre,
Yes indeed you can add exissting project from NWDS to DTR.
(Actually this not the right forum for this question, best choice is Java Development Infrastructure Forum) However i will try to answer your question.

  • How to import an existing project into DTR

I have one question for NWDI:
    There are two senarios:
    A. I created a web dynpro project without NWDI. Now I want to import it into DTR. Is there any workaround?
    B. My NWDI crashed and can not be recovered. Then I install a new empty NWDI. Since I checked out all the DCs to my client side. Is there any workaround to re-import the project into the empty NWDI?

    Hi,
You can transfer local DC project into NWDI. I have a doc which tells the procedure to Convert local CAF DC project into NWDI. For Web Dynpro project the procedure will be same. So you can go through the doc
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/3e479a6a-0b01-0010-62bd-dcfe09c67c41
Without NWDI you can also do your development by usind DCs in your local plugin folder. Here is one doc also.

I think it will help you to solve your problem.

  • User Interface stopped working after adding existing project

Hi, I've just created a new User Interface for one of our service beans. To do this, I created one application (called UserInterface) with one project (also called UserInterface), this project uses JSF JSPs to get the GUI. On its own, this project works fine. But whenever I add existing projects to the application, the UserInterface stops working. I right-click my jspx page, choose run and all I get is an empty page. The point is, the UserInterface should get connected to the service bean that's in the second project (ContentServices), so somehow I have to add the project to the application, don't I?
Sorry for being a little vague about this but I don't know quite what to ask and where to search for... can someone give me a hard push in the right direction?

Found it with some help from a colleague. The new project contained a library with some jars that had the same name as some jars that were in the old project. Those didn't really mix well together :-)

  • Can't add a webdynpro project to DTR...

    Hi at all,
I've posted this already to WebDynpro but I don't know how to move it because it is maybe better to post it here.
I have created a local webDynpro application and as I got access to my DTR I added it to it. Everything was looking fine until I said that I want to remove the application from my client and created the project again.
On creating the WebDynpro project, the NWDS give me some error messages that some files are readonly!
(Web Dynpro Generation: Existing output file .../roadmap/RoadmapComponent.java is read-only!)
After that I removed the readonly flag in the windows explorer and rebuilded the project. But on the next checkin and sync from the DTR I got the same message.
I deleted the webdynpro project from the DTR and made sure that all files of my local copy were writable.
But still, if I create the project on the DTR, there are some files that are readonly if I sync them from there...
Does anyone know what the DTR is doing there, why it's automatically setting some files to readonly and how to solve that problem???
I read a lot in SDN how to add a project in the DTR, but all that doesn't solve my problem. I have no idea what I can do else.
    I'm appreciated for answers.
    Regards,
    Dennis

    Hi Roy,
usually you need all your source folders, whatever they are named. For a Par I would assume src.api, src.core and dist. for a regular Java project src (or src/packages).
If you are working with development component you must include the .dcdef file and the def folder. If the cfg contains files you should also add that.
As negative list: you should not include the bin folder (where NWDS/Eclipse puts generated classes), nor any folder starting with gen (e.g. gen_wdp for WebDynpro projects should not be checked in. The gen folder itself should never be checked in either, it contains the build results from a local DC build).

  • How to add existing jsp file to a project?

I am trying out 10g developer preview. Looks like a lot of bugs are there in the tool. I would like to know how to add existing jsp file into a project. I tried the Import functionality, but it shows the option to create a project and include only Java files. Is there a way to do this? Thank you

Just copy the files in the directory where the rest of your source file is.

  • I would like to add a project to an existing project.

I am trying to add a photo project to my existing project. Both projects work independantly. I did the the file add procedure and now both projects work independently when chosen from the project. I would like to link them up now by adding some navigation between them, Maybe a button from one to the other so I can access the function and come back to the original. I cannot get an access to link the two. I am wondering is there a way to do this.
Project A gets a button that connects with Project B then Project B gets a button that takes you home to Project A.

  • Add new system to an Existing project in Change Request in Solution Manager

    HI,
Is it ok to add new systems and remove systems to an existing Project in Solution Manager with Change Request Management activated?
Currently, Change request is already set-up in our solution landscape, however, a new BI Dev and QA systems were created to replace the old Dev and QA systems that was initially set-up in our Charm. Can you please share with me the steps that I need to do to successfully remove old Dev and QA from Charm and replace them with the new systems? Is it safe to do this in an open project and maintenance cycle?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Please, check the topic "6. Changes in the logical components of a project where Charm is already activated" of the link below:

  • IMovie, cannot add to existing project

I've opened an existing Project ( that has not yet been "shared" or "exported", and when I try to add a photo "click and drag", it shows up on the project screen, but when played "space bar", it does not appear- only the previous photo.
    Can someone help?
    Thank you

    Try this:
<CTRL> + click on that picture in the Project Browser. Then choose Reveal in Finder. When the Finder window opens your picture will be highlighted, <CTRL> + click on that picture Again and choose Open with > Preview. In Preview go to the Tools Menu > Adjust Color:
Make just tiny, ever so slight adjustment to the Exposure Slider. Then go to the File Menu > Save. Quit Preview.
In iMovie quit the program, then launch it again. See if iMovie can play that particular picture back. If it is still stuck on the previous picture perform this same operation on the Previous picture instead. Something in these steps forces iMovie to re-index, or account for the changes in the picture forcing it to refresh it in the project. And this sometimes clears up the problem.

  • Can I add multiple linked documents to an existing project?

Can I add multiple linked documents to an existing project without breaking the project?
The project I'm working on is due to go live in just a little over a month. I've recently acquired some training materials that contain information that needs to be merged into the help file. The problem is that there is not enough time to do it, get it reviewed, and so on.
So I had this idea of linking to the Word docs (there are 3) for now, then cleaning things up as we go along.
Is that a stupid idea this late in the game?
Would it be better to create a separate help file with just those docs and then merge the projects into a master project?
I am using RoboHelp 9 and Word 2010.

I don't think the idea in itself is silly but I think there might be a nicer solution.
Link the documents to a new project. How is described on my site. Alternatively import them.
Once you have got the topics looking how you want, then import them into your main project. You then have the topics ready to edit later on but for now they can go as they are.
Backup your main project before you start the import so that you can backtrack if you want to.
The TOC will not come in automatically this way but you'll likely want to add the new stuff manually anyway. Alternatively you can import the TOC and then append it.

  • Create existing MI project from DTR

    Hi,
I have a problem with creating an MI project (like SAP MAM 2.5) which is uploaded by someone else from DTR in my SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.0 (2004s) SP15.
When I press mouse right --> create project (in DTR perspective) on my project, everything is synced to my client, also the .classpath and .project file. When I switch to my MI perspective and then the navigation view or package view or MI view, all three I cannot find my project back in NWDS.
When I look at my C drive via Windows Explorer I can find all the files.
I reinstalled NWDS a few times. I also tried closing the NWDS after creating the project and restarting it, but this was also not working.
Can anyone help me what is wrong or what I am doing wrong.....
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
    Bart

    Hi,
this could have a few reasons:
check if the project is available in standard MI perspective. Then check if you have the same plugin.
If that is the case we can drill into it a little deeper.
Best solution would be - to be onest - to ZIP your workmates NWDS folder, copy it over to your location and unzip it there. furthermore you should have the same setup if it comes to JAVA and project files. If that is the case, you will have pretty much no issues with this, cause it should have the same behaviour on all computers.

  • Add soundfiles (voice over) to existing project – how do I make the sound optional for the participant to listen to?

Hi! I´d like to import soundfiles to an existing project. This is what I´m trying to do: I´d like to have a symbol on each page with a clickbox on top. When (if) the participant wants to listen to the voice over, he/she can click on the symbol and the voice is activated. Right now, the sound file is activated directly when I open the slide. Can anyone give me some advise? Kind regards, Gunilla

It helps if you mention the version you are using. Because you talk about 'click box on top of a symbol' you probably use an older version. Since shapes appeared, that can be used as buttons and can be filled with any image or text, this is no longer necessary: Turn an Image into a Button - Captivate blog
In that case you'll need to replace the slide audio (you see it on the Timeline) by object audio. Audio files can be linked to any objects, and they'll start to play when the object gets visible. First approach would be by creating an audio object. This blog post offers some details: Audio Objects: Control them! - Captivate blog
Second approach: use the command 'Play Audio' triggered by the shape button (or click box). I'd recommend strongly not to use this command as a simple action, unless you are happy with the playhead advancing at the same time: Why choose Standard over Simple action? - Captivate blog  Use a standard advanced action instead. If you were on Captivate 7 or 8 I would advise to use a shared action.
I hope you do have that command, think it appeared with CP6. It has the advantage that when another button is clicked that plays another audio clip, the first one will stop automatically. If you have to use an audio object, you'll have to hide the object to have the audio stopped.

  • Add existing items to project in vs2013

Is it just make a reference to the source file and no physical copy of the files is conducted? cos i add some .cpp by this, and after i deleted the original project the added files won't open, click on the triangle in solution explorer you can see the
variables, functions but it can't be opened. Seems it has been deleted. what the hell

If you are coming to C++ development from the C# world then this behavior might surprise you.
Unlike a C# project which tries very hard to have the project structure mirror the underlying disk directory structure (unless you go out of your way to add a project item as a link), C++ projects have no such impetus.  All items are added to
a C++ project as a link.  If want a copy you must manually make a copy of the item in the right location before you add it to the project..
On the other hand, when I started doing C# development I found the behavior of the IDE surprising and frustrating -- I kept getting multiple copies of my items and they would get out of sync.  Essentially the two worlds have a different philosophy and
you pretty much just have to live with it.
