Add field group to Asset Master Data Screen Layout

Hi Gurus !!
Does anybody know how to add field group in SPRO(Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data)?. I have created my layout by coping 1000, but then I need to add Fund Center in Time-Dependent data logical field group.

I don't think you can add a funds center to the Time dependent tab.
Instead you need to use Derivatuon strategy. Use tcode FMDERIVE for strategy and FMDERIVER for GL accounts to cost center and cost centers to asset numbers or number range. From here the system derives teh funds center.

We have created bunch of new fields for asset master data, but we want to make them visible only for particular asset class. So we need to customize in SPRO Asset Master Data Screen Layout, but there no specific field groups that we can customize. So how to create and add new field groups to manage them by radiobuttons Required, Optional, No or Display?

Displaying Evaluation groups field in the asset master data

Dears,
The Evaluation group fields in the allocation tab in the asset master data was not displayed in the layout, is there is any harm of displaying it in the production system after 3 years from Go-live.
i think it should not make any harm, i just want to confirm.

There is no harm.. These fields are used for reportng. They dont impact the process in any way

Add a custom field to Business Partner(master data screen)

Hi MM experts,
My requirement: Basically have to pass special accounting number (from FI module to MM module ). For that, we need to create new custom field in the standard screen (master data) of business partner.
How to achieve this?
Is that by creating field exit (create a new field in the standard screen and updating business partner master data with this special accounting number)? IF so, could you please explain how to achieve this little bit clearly?

Hello Solemn,
You should catch the FormLoad event of form 134 (Business Partner), and add a static text and editbox. In addition, you need to do the data binding right after adding the item.
Or, you just use the standard UDF function of B1.

Dunning term field in Business partner master data Screen

Hi all,
I have created a dunning term and i want to assign this dunning term for all customers in my DB. could anybody tell me how do i assign this.
I dont want to assign it by going into each and every BP master data. ive 3000 customers to whome i need to assign this dunning term.

What you can do is using DTW to update Dunning Term for this 3000 BP. You can find the template under oBusinessPatners - BusinessPartners.xlt.

How to activate fields under origin tab in the asset master data

Hello Gururs,
While creating asset master data under origin tab there are two fields in display mode . I am unable to change these fields . the fields are 1.) Asset purchase new. 2.) Purchase used. I want to check one of these two check boxes. But they are in display mode. How can i activate these two fields.
In asset master data screen layout also i didnot find these two fields under origin category . Pls advice

status - DISPLAY
Reason - Authorization for asset view used
In screen layout field i didnt find these two fields . Can you tell me where these settings has been done . How to change the status for these fields.

How to display field Functional Location Field in Asset Master Data

Dear Experts,
I really appreciate for your advices on how to display Functional Location Field in Asset Master data.
I have checked the configuration on path IMG:\Financial Accounting->Asset Accounting->Master Data->Screen Layout->Define Screen Layout for Master Data
I have chosen the screen layout and review all Logical Field Groups. And there's no field "Functional Location" is available. I also didn't find "Add New" button to add "Functional Location" field.

I am sorry this is not possible.
Note 140482:
The field was created as a precaution. However, it is not being used at
present and consequently is not supplied.
In particular, you cannot use the field as a criterion for a selection
in Asset Accounting reporting. This is still true even if this field has
been included in the selection view delivered for the dynamic selections
by modification.

Screen Layout for Asset Master Data

Hi all,
we are using SAP ECC 6.0 with a base component 700 Level 15 and the Logistics and Accounting component 600 Level 12.
I hope you can help me with the following tasks. It should be said that I am not an expert FI-AA, so you must bear with me.
It is desired, that the Screen Layout for asset master data, should have an additional field "customer order" as a required field.
So I go to the Customizing
--> Financial Accounting --> Asset Accounting > Master Data> Screen Layout--> Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data --> Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data
--> and then into the third level of navigation in the u201Cfield group rulesu201D (rule for R & D development costs and then logical field group time-dependent data)
So there I should be deposited the "customer order" as a required field.
But:
1. The "customer order" is not available in any field group. How is it possible that I add the u201Ccustomer orderu201D to a field group?
2. I am not able to add any field, in the above transaction?

I want to come back to my problem listed above.
In the APC Values Posting (Transaction ASKP) the costs have been assigned to a WBS element. Now, it should not be assigned to a WBS element, but to a customer order.
For that I created in the asset master a new customer's own field "Customer Order".
For this I have implemented the customer enhancement AIST0002 (Customer fields in asset master).
The new field "Customer Order" is now available in the asset master as desired.
So far so good.
Now, the new field "Customer Order" must be specified and activate as an Account Assignment Object.
Is this possible and how can I add my new field to an Account Assignment Object?

Hi Pedro,
SAP allows entering upto 8 fields on the asset master. These fields are called 'Evaluation group'. Out of 8, 4 are four character long and others are 8 character long.
You can configure them @ the following 3 nodes in IMG:
Financial Accounting>Asset Accounting>Master Data-->User Fields: Define 4-Character Evaluation Groups & Define 8-Character Evaluation Groups & Change Key Words in the Evaluation Groups.

Custom Field in Asset Master Data

Dear Experts,
I want to ask about a problem I'm having when adding a new field in Asset Master Data ( AS01 & AS02 ).
I'm adding new field on the Time-dependent Tab. I already create the exit & the new custom field, and with the help of the functional registered the new field.
I'm using a new installed SAP GUI 7.3 .
The problem is that the new field doesn't appear when I access the tcode unless I click on the new field location.
The problem seem doesn't appear in SAP GUI 7.1 & 7.2.
Is there any setting that need to be done or this is the problem with the SAP GUI 7.3

1, AS02 -> Menu: Environment -> screen layout -> Master data -> select layout and double click on Logic field group -> Select Logic field group 2 u2018Posting informationu2019 and double click on field group rules -> Change field group 13 to u2018Suppressed entry fieldu2019.
Alternatively
2, Use AO21 to customize the field as above.
Note: field u2018Planned. retirement onu2019 in asset master is connected to the function u2018Simulate up to planned retirement dateu2019 in asset reports. After field u2018Planned. retirement onu2019 of asset master data is deactivated, the function u2018Simulate up to planned retirement dateu2019 in asset report will be disabled.

I would like to know how to deactivate the control for the field "Planned retirement on"?
The control is the following "Simulate only to planned retirement" indicator in the selection screen of the given standard report.
Where can I found this indicator?

Useful life is asking mandatory field in asset master data

while asset master creation useful life is asking mandatory field in dep.key : ZSLU. actually i have to give "ZERO" in useful life field. i have set screen layout in AO21 also.again asking mandatory field. I got the one point, I think this is the problem,
Note: Base method 0011 (Ordinary: percentage from useful life) already assigned in dep. Key ZSLU. If we assigned in dep. key ZSLU, we should give positive values for useful life in asset master data.
I changed base method 0002 instead of 0011, it was accepted, If i change base method(0011),
i want base method instead of 0011?
which base method i have to give? please give suggestion?

i have changed optional field also. it's asking mandatory, i have tested base method 0002 instead of 0011. if i give 0002 or other base method, it is accepting.
Note: if we mention base method 0011, we must give passitive values in useful life.
what i have to do? please tell me?

Trading partner' field (ANLA-VBUND) on asset master data

Dear experts,
I have informed field Trading partner' (ANLA-VBUND) on asset master data but we have notice that, in our system, it has not got any function on an accounting level.
Trading partner is not informed in documents like:
CR - Loss
DB - Asset account (with trading partner informed on asset's master data)
We only get trading partner informed in postings like:
CR - Vendor with trading partner informed in vendor's master data.
DB - Asset account
By the way, although trading partner is informed on asset's master data, trading partner is not informed on depreciation postings.
At the end, I think that my expectations around the functionality derived on field Trading partner' (ANLA-VBUND) on asset master data are not correct. I could not found any SapNote or SapHelp regarding this question.
Does any body knows what is the functionality of field Trading partner' (ANLA-VBUND) on asset master data?

Thanks for your answer. Looking to the documentation you mentioned above I've found the following:
AA/Asset Accounting
* Asset transfers between company codes: If a fixed asset is transferred to another company code, two posting documents are required - one for each company code. The trading partner of each document must be set with the company ID of the other company code, respectively.
In my understanding there is no functionality regarding trading partner on asset master data level apart of transfers between company codes. Am I right?
I understand that my initial approach was not correct.

Add functional location in asset master

Dear Friends,
I need to add field 'Functional Location - TPLNR' in asset master data. I find the field TPLNR in table ANLZ but it is not displayed in Asset Master.

Functional location in asset master as an input field is not available as per SAP standard fucntionality .
It only comes in to picture when , we activate the Asset equipment syncro. i.e details of equipment in asset master , there also you wont find functional location as input field .
If the number of FL are not more then you can use the 8 digits evaluation group or you can use the field Location , else you will have to go for an enhancement for achieving the same .
You may explore the enhancement AIST0002 - Customer fields in asset master for the same.

How to bring Profit center field in to asset master

HI,
We are having new GL Profit center scenario active. My question is
1.How to bring Profit center field in to Asset Master?
I am not finding the field"Profit Center" under the configurations step Asset Accounting>Intergration with GL Accounting>Additional Account Assignment objects>>Activate Account assignment objects.
I know how to do it if it the Profit center field appears in the above step.HOW TO INCLUDE in the above step??Is there any prior activity I need to do?
2.If I could see the Profit Center field in the above step,then I can add it in T Code ACSET and select the field in Asset Screen Layout,so that it can come up in Asset Master.
If question#1 can be answered it will be great.

Hi,
Until some years ago Profit Center did not exist in FI-AA master data. The Profit Center was derived from other objects (like the cost center) during posting, but there was no way to enter a Profit Center directly in the asset.
Asset master data has been enhanced with EHP 5 to contain also fields for Profit Center and Segment. To make use of that functionality you need to activate the Business Function for "Segment Reporting" as explained in the Link posted by Jayj before.
Once Business Function "Segment Reporting" is active, you will be able to make ACSET settings for the Profit Center like for the other account assignment objects. Without the Business Function the field does not exist in asset accounting and therefore you cannot find it in customizing.
