Add files to a DVD

How do you burn more files to a DVD.
I did burn photos that were in Finder file format, then I tried to burn iPhoto files, but was unable. I went through the help instructions; chose the iPhoto pics exported them to Finder file, then dragged the folder to the DVD icon to copy (it would not take the folder). Then I tried, selecting the iPhoto exported folder in Finder and chose 'burn to disc'. (It keeps asking for the disc). I ejected the DVD and re-inserted, but this did nothing.
Thanks for your help

Once you burn data to a DVD-R you cannot add more files thereafter. If you use a DVD-RW disc then you can copy the files already on the disc to your computer, erase the disc with Disk Utility, add the files to those that were already on the disc, then burn the entire lot to the disc.

  • Can't Add Files To RW DVD

    Hello,
I'm a musician and successfully backed up a Pro Tools session with no Problems to a -RW DVD. I tried to back up a second session and got an error messege stating I couldn't not add to the DVD. From Apples Help Menu I learned the only way I could add the other session was to erase the DVD and burn both session at the same time. This is unexceptable for obvious reasons. Is there a work around? Do I have to backup each session on it's own DVD? This is a serious design flaw in my opinion. I thought RW media was designed so you could add data to your disc when needed. What's up with that?

There is no defined standard for a multiple-session DVD. Therefore to add files to a RW-DVD you must erase it first.

No, RW media is designed so that you can erase it and reuse it.
You can create multiple sessions CDs with CD-Rs you don't need CD-RWs. The RW has nothing to do with the ability to write multiple sessions.

  • Can you add a PDF file to a DVD?

    Greetings!
I have a client that wants to make an electronic brochure for a home listing. I am thinking I can create all the media in Photoshop and make a Slideshow in iPhoto and put it on a DV. Simple. Now, I'd like to also offer him a 4 page brochure that I save as a PDF file and I'd like to add that to the DVD so the customer can print it from their computer.
How do I go about adding the PDF to the DVD when I burn it. I know you can add images that people can look at or print from the DVD, but is it possible to add a PDF or anything else, like maybe a PowerPoint or Keynote show?
    Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays!
    Cheers!

  • How to add non-DVD files to a DVD?

    Hi all,
I desperately need your help! I've created a DVD using Studio Pro, and I've burned the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS on a DVD
In addition however, I've added a folder named POWERPOINT, which contains various powerpoint presentations. I did this to allow PC-users to view some powerpoint presentations as well. On a DVD-player, obviously, those wouldn't be seen.
Now this system seemed to work, however not exactly as I wanted: on some dvd players the DVD starts at some random point in the menu; not at the start. Furthermore, the reproduction company encountered an Error:
Title Set Files not in correct physical order /
ISO and DVD file locations disagree
My question: is this error related to the fact that I've added powerpoint files to the DVD? and if so: is there another way to add non-dvd content to the dvd?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Select the DVD icon, (in the graphical or Ouline list) and in the inspector, look at the bottom of the inspector. You will see DVD-ROM content. Make sure you have put all of the content you wish to include in one folder, organized the way you want inside that folder and then using the DVD ROM content option select that folder.

  • Itunes refuses to add files to library

I recently had a problem with my computer which forced me to reformat. before i did this, i saved all my music to DVDs, along with any files i wanted to keep. I have since reformated, added all the files from the DVDs to my computer. I have downloaded itunes, and "added folder to library" through itunes. the folder i added was the "My Music" folder, in which i saved all the music from the DVDs into. after a short while, i realised a lot of my music had not been added. when trying to add this music using "Add file to library", nothing at all happens. Also, when manually browsing the folder, and double clicking the music that has not been added (which is displayed with the little itunes symbol), itunes loads, but nothing happens. the music is not added, nor does it play. it seems to have affected mpeg4 and mp3 files. what is going on?

So you have a DTS audio DVD.
You say you've "encode the contents into 5.1 wav files which work in QT".
How did you manage to decode the DTS stream into WAV files?
How many QT files do you have?
What you should do is to let your receiver do the decoding of the DTS stream, and just get your Macbook to send that stream to the receiver via whatever TosLink adaptor you already have.
iTunes is ONLY stereo, so if you have a multichannel WAV file, it won't read it. Also, I'm sure there are restrictions on bit depth, so if you have 24 bit WAV files, I'm guessing that also won't work in iTunes.

  • How do I get files from multiple DVDs that are using thesame file names?

How do I get files from multiple DVDs that are using thesame file names? Message says "file already exists in catalog"

I am viewing your question from different perspective, that is, the issue that you face when you are ripping VOBs from a second DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc using Premiere Elements,
It is best to give the Premiere Elements version and computer operating system that it is running on. In the absence of that, I will generalize.
    Assuming that you are using
    Premiere Elements 12
    Add Media
    "DVD Camera or Computer Drive"
    Video Importer
Typically the Video Importer Save In: is C:\Users\Owner\Videos
Each of your DVD discs is going to have the same names for the ripped VOBs (VTS_01_1.VOB and so on depending on the duration of the movie). Consequently, after the ripping of the first DVD's VOBs and their save to Videos, you will end up with that "files already existing..." block for the ripping of the VOBs from the second DVD.
The answer is, for each DVD disc VOB ripping, to plan ahead and create and set for different folders in Videos in the Save In field of the Video Importer.
Please review and then let us know if that works for you. Please do not hesitate to ask if you need clarification on anything that I have written.
    Thank you.

  • Backing up files onto a DVD+RW disc

I have backed up files onto a DVD+RW disc from my Mac.  However, when I go back to do another update, I get the message that I can't copy file because the disc is a read-only.  Why do I get this message?

It's foolish to backup to a CD or DVD, get yourself an External HD (they're relatively inexpensive) and use Time Machine. Please get one that is 1.5 to 2x the size of your internal HD. If you don't know how to use TM then simply look on YouTube and search for "Time Machine Tutorial" and you will find many videos.
The reason you get the error message is because writeable CD & DVDs can only be written to once, you cannot go back and add information. This make the practice silly and ineffective for backups.

  • Making VOB Files Play on DVD Player

I am using MPEG Streamclip to create edited VOB or TS files of personal DVD recordings. I can burn these files onto a data DVD, but I can only use my computer to play them. What I need is some kind of application that I can point to all of my VOB or TS files and it would create a IFO playlist in a VIDEO_TS folder that would run on my DVD player. I hope that makes sense. Basically, I need to go from a folder full of VOB video files to a DVD that will run on a DVD Player.
    Thanks in advance!

If you still have Toast 6, please update it least to version 6.0.9. Previous Toast versions could alter audio/video sync of muxed MPEG files. Some versions of Toast may have trouble burning some MPEGs with mp2 audio -- a workaround is to demultiplex the MPEG to m2v and m1a (or aiff) with MPEG Streamclip and burn them with Toast. Toast may lose audio sync or be too picky and reject some MPEGs -- a workaround is to demultiplex the MPEG to m2v and aiff with MPEG Streamclip and burn them with Toast. Converting to "Headed" MPEG adds a special header to the MPEG file that lets you import unsupported frame sizes into Toast 6 or 7 and skip recompression. However, DVDs made from "headed" MPEG files are not guaranteed to work with all players.
Sizzle does not have encoding capabilities. Maybe it is just re-muxing the files?

  • Superdrive only reads half the files on a DVD

    I am running Mac OS X v10.3.9 on a 1.25 ghz G4 iMac.
I got a commercially produced data DVD for Christmas. I don't know if it is dual layer or what, but it contains 5.35 GB of mostly acrobat files.
I can read and/or copy about half the files on the disk, the other half of them error out or lock up the finder when I try to copy and when I just try to read/open them the ball spins for a long time then just stops without opening anything.
All the files open without difficulty on the Windows PC at work.
    Is this weird or what?
I rebuilt my permissions and no improvement. Any ideas what else I should try?
    Thanks!!

Could the disc(s) in question have been burned using a utility that allowed
multiple sessions; and not been set to be used in both Mac and PC?
Some can do that and not be recognized. Third party disc burning utilities
can also add files to burned CD-RW or DVD/RW discs; but they may not
all be seen by the different optical drives and/or software in other systems.

  • Files burnt to DVD have correct names but wrong content?

I burned 161 tiff files to a DVD using finder.
The files each have a different file, unique, name which match the file names on the hard drive
    but
the content of all 161 files on the DVD are duplicates of the first image although the content of the files on the hard drive are all different.
    Any ideas?

Something seems to go wrong with the aliasing
process. Frustratingly enough it doesn't seem to
happen in some consistent way. It appears that you
can check before you burn, that while the filename
and thumbnail appear correct, if you look at the
preview (presumably in column view or with the
Inspector) it will show the error.
    Thanks Francine,
That answered that the problem is real. It has only happened to me once that I know of in September 2005. What version of 10.4 I was using at that time is unknown so I do not know if Apple has corrected it since in a later update of the OS.
When you scan film and send the files back to clients getting a phone call that all the files are the same is something I really didn't want to hear.
I now have to verify all of the images and with this client had to reburn 8 more DVD's. All add up to more cost to provide the same product.
I purchased Toast to do the burning, again added cost to do something that the OS should do as a basic function.
Again thank you very much for your help.

  • What is the difference between: "Place..." or "Add files for Upload..."?

Where can I get information about the detailed differences between the commands "Place..." and "Add Files for Upload..." of the Files menu?
Understand that in both cases the files are linked and not embedded. But what further differences are there?
I came across this issue because widget 039 (Animated Image Rollovers) from MuseThemes works only if you use the "Add Files for Upload..." option.
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
There are a few differences in both the options-
Place is used to add content to page (rendered) while Add Files for Upload... is used to upload files to your site but not on page (not rendered).
Placed images are published to /images folder on the server while images added using Add Files for Upload... option are published to the /assets folder on the server.
Placed images have a chance of getting renamed (if resized/interpolated in Muse) upon publish while images added using Add Files for Upload... retain their names.
Place can be used to add limited file formats like jpg/png/psd/swf/oam etc while you can upload almost any type of file using Add Files for Upload...
You don't see Placed content in the Hyperlinks dropdown for linking while files added using Add Files for Upload... show up in the Hyperlinks dropdown so that you may link to them and allow download.
Both serve different purposes and Add Files for Upload... is preferred by Widget Developers because it gives more control over uploaded content and assurance that file location and name will be as expected.
Hope the above give you clarity on the basic difference.
    Cheers,
    Vikas

  • Can't add files to library

I can load music off of cds into my library, but other music files that i have on my computer will not load. The little window comes up saying "loading files" and then it stops halfway through, and nothing is loaded - what is happening?

Yes I would like to know the same thing.I am trying to import or add files (home videos) to my itunes movie library and I followed the directions and nothing happens.
How the heck do you import or add videos from my camera that I've downloaded onto my computer and then want to add it to my Ipod through itunes library and it will not import ito the library.I ready to throw a brick through this thing!!!!Any help out there????

  • Can't add file to library

for some reason my itunes will not let me add any files to my library. it was working fine every day before today. all of my formats are in .mp3 form and they will not be added in either "add file" or "add folder". i tried redownloading itunes and repairing my program through my control panel as well. does any one have an ideas to help me?

try enabling your ipod for disk use and then dragging them over

  • An mp3 file on my computer will not import to itunes by either the drag-and-drop or the Add File to Library method.  Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.  My OS is Windows 7.

I purchased an mp3 from a private website on my laptop.  The itunes library i sync ipod to is on my desktop, so i copied the mp3 onto a flash drive and then into my desktop in the Downloads folder and Desktop folder as well as the itunes music folder, 3 places.  I opened itunes on the desktop and read the instructions for importing music that's already in my computer.  Neither the drag-and-drop or the Add File to Library method works.  I've tried both ways over and over.  Cannot figure out what the problem is.  I do note that the name of the mp3 file doesn't show the .mp3 extension, it appears as simply it's title, Eating Healthy, without any extension at all.  Could the filename be the problem, or do you have any other idea what I'm doing wrong?  My OS is Windows 7, using IE9.  Thanks.
ADDENDUM AFTER READING ANOTHER DISCUSSION HERE:  I have now tried right clicking the song in Windows Explorer and choosing Open With, clicking itunes.  The mp3 plays in itunes but does not add to the library.

I don't have a Recently Added playlist.  However, I discovered that the file I had named Eating Healthy was given the name You Can Enjoy Eating Healthy when it copied to iTunes.  I'm guessing iTunes pulled the full name of the piece from the internet.  Upshot--the mp3 did transfer to iTunes on all 3 tries, but I was looking in my alphabetized list under E, not Y, so I didn't see it there.  Thanks for your help.

  • URGENT: Need help to add files to OA Project in JDev 9i

    Hi,
    OA Framework Version 11.5.10.6RUP
    JDeveloper 9.0.3.5 (Build 1453)
    1. The standard iProcurement NonCatalogRequestPG page is running fine in PRODUCTION and I have been asked to do enhancements like VO extn etc so I am trying to import files from server to JDev on my local machine.
    2. FTP $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/icx/*.* to c:/jdeveloper/jdevhome/jdev/myclasses/oracle/apps/icx
    and FTP $ICX_TOP/mds/*.* to c:/jdeveloper/jdevhome/jdev/myprojects/oracle/apps/icx
    4. Open Jdev and create OA Workspace & OA Project (default package: oracle.apps.icx)
    5. When trying to Add files and directories to OA Project, created in step 4, its bringing all files at one level. I dont see any hierarchical directory structure i.e. I dont see package like oracle.apps.icx with sub-directories like punchout, icatalog, lov,etc What I see is all files at one level under xxicx.jpr
What am I missing here, PLEASE HELP...
    Thanks a lot!

What you are doing is very simple job and I am sure you will achieve whatever you want.
create a directory structure od seeded VO in your myprojects dir. then just copy vo.xml, voimpl.java and vorowimpl.java in that dir. create a BC4J component for thsi dir structure and then create new Vo with extends property as this seeded VO.
If you still have a problem, please upload screenshot of problem to some website, I will download from there.
