Click the half-shaded box, and choose "Show Menu Bar."
That will enable the menu with File, Edit, View, etc. Then you can proceed as above. -
Roboform toolbar is not available in the latest version of Firefox. Or, if it is, I don't know how to enable it. Te toolbar4 used to be selectable from the view dropdown menu.
Roboform have made a marketing decision to only make version 7 of their toolbar compatible with Firefox 4, and you need to pay to get the upgrade.

I have over 1000 duplicates in both my files and in the Itunes library. The duplicate function appears to have been removed from teh latest version of Itunes. How do I identify and remove multiple duplicates from my library and my music file
The show duplicates/show exact duplicates features have been left out of iTunes 11.0. Rumor suggests they will be restored in the next build. In the meantime I have written two Windows scripts to make playlists of Duplicates and Exact Duplicates, either from a selection of tracks or the entire library. Note that, as with the iTunes feature, this list makes no distinction between "originals" and "dupes", you have to decide which is which.
There is also my DeDuper script for automatically removing duplicate copies but keeping one remaining copy of each set. This can preserve ratings, play counts, playlist membership, etc. which are lost in a manual clean up. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background on deduping and the script.
If you want to manually remove duplicate tracks use shift-delete to remove selected tracks from the library as well as the playlist. Keep one of each repeated group of files and don't send the others to the recycle bin unless you are sure that there are multiple files on the disc as opposed to multiple entries to the same file. Same advice to backup applies.

Why will my new iphone4 not sync with the latest version of itunes?
Hello. I have just purchased the iphone4. I have duly upgraded my Windows Vista Toshiba laptop itunes to the latest version 10.2.2
The upgrade appears to have been successful, and so I connected my iphone4 into my laptop. itunes still logs on ok and to the new version, but I get the following error with regards to the sync to my iphone..
"ITunes requires a new version of Apple Mobile Device Support. Please uninstall both Apple Mobile Device Support and iTunes, then install iTunes again" How can this be? I have just upgraded to the very latest itunes, and this is my first Apple mobile device so no previous versions are applicable!!
Any help gratefully appreciated.

I have to uninstall and reinstall iTunes just so my iPad2 will be recognized. I don't want to do this every single time. What is the problem? My iPhone4 isn't recognized too unless I reinstall iTunes.
Hey thanks ingo2711 :) for some reason it worked and my iPhone is been recognised! Yay! Ha ha :) I did what u suggested and removed iTunes completely from my computer then I also restarted my computer and proceeded to reinstall iTunes. I don't know if it helped but I also reset all settings on my iPhone as well :) I'm so happy right now lol thanks again :)

Library Duplicated
I just updated to the latest version of iTunes and it duplicated virtually every track in my library. I need a quick way to delete the duplicates. Sorting by "Date Added" will not work, because every track is listed as added on 12/12/2011 even though this happened today 12/19/2011.I've written a script called DeDuper which can help remove unwanted duplicates. iTunes for Mac has never had an "Add folder to library" option. This is only available on Windows version.
Select Add to library, select the folder then click OK.
Or drag the folder(s) to the iTunes library at top left of iTunes. -
Help I just moved my music files to a external hard drive and am using the new crappy version ( i know my opinion) of itunes and cant add the files to my libray it gives me the add file to library option but not the add folder to library option what am i doing wrong?
In iTunes 11 uncheck the preferences setting in in the iTunes Preferences panel "Advanced > Copy Files to iTunes Media folder when adding to Library"

I have an external hard drive that has a huge music library that I wish to make my Library in ITunes. I have already set the location of the library to the hard drive folder (under Preferences/Advanced). In the older versions of ITunes there was an "add folder to library" option. After selecting that option, ITunes would then take a long time to analyze the songs in the new folder and I could then transfer songs to my IPad. The new ITunes has an "Add File to Library". I selected *.* to include all artists and songs in the library, but ITunes does not begin to analyze the songs and artists in the hard drive.
How do you get Itunes to recognize the songs and artists in the new song directory?.As long as you don't have an existing library that is synced with a device or holds oodles of carefully crafted playlists, ratings etc. then...
Hold down shift as you start iTunes. You should get an option to choose or create a library. Click create, browse to root of the external drive and click save so that your library is say X:\iTunes where X: is the letter of your external drive. All new content downloaded to the library will stay on the external drive.

Open iTunes and navigate to the app store. Select a free app to download. A simple way to do this is to scroll down to the top free apps box on the right hand side, hover your mouse over the first item and click on the free button that appears when you hover over it.
A pop up will open asking you to sign in with your Apple ID click "create new account", click continue to create your account. Check the box to accept the store terms and conditions and click continue.
Enter your email address, password, security question, and date of birth, click continue. Now, you will be asked to provide a payment method. Note now that the last option says "none". -

If you feel misled then that is how you feel and I understand that. You are entitled to feel that way. But the iPad DOES work with Leopard 10.5.8 but you have to sync with the cable. When I bought my iPad1 - I was using a MacBook running 10.5.8. I upgraded to Snow Leopard in anticipation of the next generation of Apple iDevices and this past Christmas I received a new MacBook Pro running Lion 10.7. I still have the MacBook running Snow Leopard and my wife uses that one as her own laptop now.
As the iPad became more popular - users cried for a PC free device as well and now the iPad is PC free as long as you are running iOS 5. So apple has provided a way to use an iPad without the need for a computer at all. I really believe that Apple has provided a way for many people to take advantage of their newest device and it does not necessitate the purchase of a new computer or OS.
I am by no means defending Apple, but I think they have done a pretty amazing job with a device that is still just under two years old. It is still "backwards" compatible with two older versions of Mac Operating systems and with two MS operating systems as well.
I realize that everybody cannot dump their current computer and OS every time a new device hits the market, but at some point, software is upgraded, computers are upgraded and new phones, MP3 players, iPods, and iPads are released. Unfortunately, if you want the latest and greatest technology, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and spend the money. -
