Add folders to mail accounts so I can file mail to different mail accounts

How do I make individual folders in my mail accounts

Hello Apple. Thank you for such a quick reply. Looks like the iOS5 folks listened to my post. That's just wonderful - and quick.  Here is what they plan to do: Your inbox is about to receive some great new features. Format text using bold, italic, or underlined fonts. Create indents in the text of your message. Drag to rearrange names in address fields. Flag important messages. Even add and delete mailbox folders on the fly. If you’re looking for a specific email, you can now search in the body of messages. And with iCloud, you get a free email account that stays up to date on all your devices. So there!

  • How do I add folders to email accounts

How do I add folders into an email account?

You can add a folder if you are running iOS 5. Go into your mailbox in the mail app. Select "Edit" in the upper right hand corner of the mailbox column. At the bottom of the column, a button labeled "New Mailbox" will appear. Select the button, give the folder a title (they call it mailbox throughout, but you're really creating a folder). If you want to next the new folder within existing folders, click on your mailbox title under "Mailbox Location" and it will show you any existing folders. You can then leave it at the top selection to make it a high level folder, or select another folder to nest the new one inside.
    Hope that helps!

  • How to add folders in mail

I just got the iPad 2 and I'm trying to find a way to add folders to my Comcast mail.
All there is is inbox, vip, sent, and trash.
Where and how do you get more folders, like save and apple?
    Thanks.

    It's me again.
Is this not a problem for anyone else?
Am I just not seeing what to do?
It would be nice if someone would just give me a hand or send me to somewhere that might have an answer.
    Thanks again.

  • Can I add folders to mail on the iPAD?

Just loaded 4.2.1 on my ipad. The mail only has in,sent and trash boxes. Can I add other boxes or folders to be able to sort my mail as I do on my mac.

I do not think so. You could not with iOS 3.2.2 and I do not think that changed and can't find any way to do it in the revised Users Guide. However, if it is an IMAP account a lot of times if the folder exist on another computer or webmail they will appear on the iPad. That is not true for an POP3 account.

  • How can I add folders to mail, using Hotmail?

So, I just registered my hotmail to sync, but it only shows the inbox folder.
I would like it to work just like it does with my iphone 4s or iPad 3 (all my registered mails show the original folders of the mails).
I have already tried using Microsft Exchange account, but it asks me for a Server Adress which I doesn't know.
    Any help would be great!

actualy dont dowload Mbox from Fluent Factory, very poor app..... sorry but I've tried and there will never be any support from them when you need to.
but the good thing is that Hotmail and Outlook.com finally rolled out support for IMAP.
    Incoming Mail Server: imap-mail.outlook.com
    Outgoing Mail Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com

No more duplication issues once you switch over, and no need for a third party (mBox)software to bridge the missing feature gap.

  • How do I add folders to mail in iCloud?

I press the add icon but it doesn't owrk.

If you are on iOS 5+ and it's an IMAP type account then you should get an Edit button at the top of the list of folders that you currently have on your email account. If it's a POP type account then you won't get the Edit button, and you are limited to the folders that you already have.

  • How does one add folders to Mail?  Kindly advise

Please refer to the subject line.

Yes, the iPhone is the most awesome piece of hardware I've ever touched but boy is it missing a lot of very basic stuff. No copy / paste, no filters in email, no folders, no way to add contacts to groups, no way to send pictures to other phones. Hopefully they will get some of this stuff fixed soon because its a real problem if you are going to be trying to compete with the black berry's out there.

  • Add to folders to Mail on a Touch+

How would one add folders to Mail in an iOS device?
Also I’ve several alert sounds I created in my desktop that I would love to have on my iOS device so how would I (or could I) add them to the Mail in my Touch?

You can't create mail folders on the iPOd.  If you have an IMAP or Excahnge account, if you create folders on a computer  or via webmail they will appear on the iPod,  If you have a POP3 account, there is not way to create folders on your iPod.
Google for custom ringtones for iPod touch and your will find some good hits.

  • How do you add folders and organize bookmarks? I've been able to do it in the past, but can't seem to figure it out now

I've been trying to add folders to my bookmarks menu and can't find the option to do that.
Also, how do I add directly to a folder. As of now, I have to add it as a loose bookmarked item, then click and drag to a folder.

  • How do you add folder to pop account, only shows inbox & trash

Added time Warner cable e-mail account but cannot add new folder, only has inbox and trash
    Help please

You can only add folders to IMAP accounts (and then via your email client, not in the Mail app on the iPad); POP accounts don't support additional folders

  • Can you add folders to iPhone mail accounts?

I figured this out with my .Mac account but can't seem to get it to work with my other POP accounts. Anyone has any success with this?

You cannot add folders on the iPhone at this time.
The reason you can add folders to your .Mac account is because .Mac utilizes IMAP, and IMAP supports server-side folders (which are what you're adding). The iPhone itself does not have any folders on it, and doesn't allow folders at this point (outside of whatever directory structure already exists for the system and apps).
POP does not support this functionality. If possible, I would recommend switching your other account to IMAP on your computer. I
f not, a solution I provided for my father on his iPhone was to make his .Mac account all-inclusive, and simply forward his other accounts to it I realize this is not ideal for all users (such as myself), but something worth at least bringing up.

    Josh

  • Can you add folders to your email accounts?  How?

I read somewhere that folders can now be added to Mail with iOS5.  If that is true can someone help me do that?  Thank you.

Adding folders to POP accounts is a limitation of them being POP accounts.
And these are user-to-user forums, they are not monitored by Apple (there are too many forums/threads/messages for that to happen). If you want to leave feedback for Apple then you can do so here : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

Try unmounting the volume on your iMac using Disk Utility. Then mount it again. You may need to reboot the laptop or relaunch its Finder process (using the Force Quit window) after remounting the drive on your iMac. Remember that no process may be accessing any files on the drive you plan to unmount, or the unmount will fail. Unmounting and remounting an external drive on my iMac made it become visible on my MacBook Pro after it had disappeared.

I would like to add folders to my Verizon email account on my iPhone 4S so that I can save particular email messages.  Is there a way to do this?  Thank-you.

YOu would have to create the folders on the server side, you can't do it on the iphone itself.
