Add font to photo

How do I add font to a photo using iPhoto?

Do you mean you want to add text onto an photo?  If so it can't be done in iPhoto.  You'll need to use a 3rd party editor with iPhoto.
Some Image Editors that support  layers:
Photoshop Elements 9 for Mac - $79
Rainbow Painter - $30
Imagerie - $38
Acorn - $50
Pixelmator - $60
Seashore - Free
Portraits and Prints - Free
GIMP for Mac - Free

  • Font for photo info does not work on this MAC

We are running a new MAC (OS 10.6.2, 2.66 GHz Quad) with Lightroom 2.6.  When I try to add photo data to a contact print, I see a series of boxes with AAAs.  I got the same result with the Identy Plate when I changed the font.  I changed to another font and it was fine.  This leads me to believe the default font for photo info is not supported on this machine.  We really need to use the photo info feature.  Is there a way to either
    1.  Change the font to one that is supported on this machine
    2.  Add the default font to this machine

Considering the hundreds of thousands of Windows apps available, I doubt you're going to find such a list.
Is there a comprehensive list posted somewhere that show which PC software has compatibity issues?
Well since Windows software does not run on Mac OS, every application is going to have compatibility issues.
You'll either have to buy the Mac version (if available) of the software you want to use, or install Windows on the Mac.

  • Add Fonts to Photoshop?

Does anyone know how to add new fonts to the dropdown list of fonts in Photoshop? I've added some fonts to my System Fonts folder, but they don't show up in PS. There doesn't seem to be a Fonts folder in PS itself.
I've posted this question on the Photoshop users forum, but they're mostly PC users and replied that in Windows, adding a font to the system Fonts file automatically puts it into PS as well.
I'm using a very old version of PS - 3.0.1 - but I'm sure there must be a way to add fonts even in that old version.

    Hello fflynn,
I don't have a total answer but I do offer some minor help. I use PS 4 running OS 9.2.....when I install fonts into my system folder....(Fonts) ....they show up in PS. I have X and 9 on this slot load but I am not very good at X... I would suggest the following:
    1. - Make sure you are installing fonts that will work in other apps. That way you know the fonts are usable
    2. - Be certain that you install the fonts in the correct folder. This folder can be found in the system folder then in a folder called fonts......This is where it would be in OS 9....As for using classic I am not certain.
    3. - Perhaps you should post a question on how to add fonts in classic mode. That way they should work in any classic application. People may not know how to do the additions to PhotoSHop.
Lastly I just wanted to tell you that in my situation....PS 4 using 9.2 - - just adding the fonts to the fonts folder lets them show up in the drop down menu of Photo-Shop....Wish I could give you a more complete answer but hope this helps a bit............mGb.........Jim

  • How do I add fonts to the MacBook Pro

I want to add some fonts to my MacBook Pro. Where do I put them so they will show up and be useable in the Font List?

Safest way to add fonts for a non-technical user is via the Font Book application that's part of the base system. In its File menu you will find the Add Font... option.
Advantages: no duplicate fonts and can choose whether the font is private or available to all users.
    Disadvantage: not geeky enough....

  • Is it possible to add high resolution photos to an ipad2 without synchronising it?

    Hi,
I'm looking in to offering potential clients an ipad with all their wedding photos pre loaded, but is it possible to add photos without synchronising each ipad to my mac? When I first got my ipad2, I couldn't use it for anything until I had connnected and registered it with Apple........I have got the camera connection kit, but haven't found a workaround for adding photos without synchronising yet?
I haven't been able to find much info on the subject so far? There must be a workaround?
    Cheers,
    MacSlates

The first thing that currently needs to be done with a new iPad is to activate it by connecting it to a computer that is running iTunes - it can't currently be used 'properly' until after that is done. After iOS 5 is released and is pre-installed on iPads then I think that should change and you will no longer need to first connect to a computer.
The camera connection kit can be used to add high-resolution photos to the iPad, unlike syncing via iTunes where the photos get 'optimised' by the transfer process. If adding the photos to the SD card yourself then you need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them
Otherwise there are third-party apps such as Simple Transfer which can copy photos to/from the iPad from your computer via your wifi network. But photos transferred this way will only go into the Saved Photos/Camera Roll album in the Photos app, not into a 'proper' album - and until iOS 5 is released and installed you won't be able to move the photos between albums on the iPad : from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
Even organize your photos in albums - right on your device
Also a problem with syncing photos to the iPad via iTunes is that they then need to be on the other person's computer when they then connect to it - otherwise the photos are likely to be removed from the device. Photos copied via the connection kit or copied via third-party apps shouldn't have that problem.

I had to format the C drive recently. I have reinstalled iTunes but I am unable to add anything other than music, TV shows and movies to the iTunes library. It is not showing any option to add podcasts, books, photos or apps. These things are available on my iPhone but are no longer there in the iTunes library. Please help.

In iTunes go to general preferences and check the boxes for those you wish to see in the library.

  • How do you add fonts in pages?

How do you add fonts and clip art in pages? I seem to have few fonts in pages. New to Mac. Thanks! Also seems that there is no clipart in pages? If there is, where can I find it?

On the Mac you add fonts to the System by double clicking on them, they then get opened in Font Book where you can open/close and organise them.
Most ClipArt offered with other applications is rubbish. Apple has left it to you to source your own, better material. This may help:

And if it´s not too much, where would I find compatible fonts?
Thanks very much in advance for all suggestions!

You don't add fonts to Pages - yu ad them to OSX. Here's a how-to:
    http://osxdaily.com/2011/10/03/installing-removing-fonts-in-mac-os-x/
If you Google Fonts for Mac, you'll find many possibilities. Be aware that (mostly) the really good quality fonst cost money

  • How do you add captions to photos in iDVD slideshows?

Is there a way to add captions to photos once you've put them into slideshows on iDVD? Or, if not, is there another way to add captions to them, though another apple application such as iPhoto? I haven't been able to figure out how to make captions for photos in iPhoto slideshows either. Please help!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. if you're creating the slideshow from stills in iDVD use the Settings button at the bottom to bright up the pane where you can add titles and comments. The downside of that is every photo will automatically have it's file name or title entered. If you don't want that then while you're in iPhoto use the Photos->Batch Change->Title->None option before you import into iDVD. Then none of them will have the titles entered and you can add them to just those that you want. Or you can add them while in iPhoto before importing.

  • How can i add text to photo in iphoto?

How can I add text to photo in iphoto without having lion or mtn lion?

You can't add text to a Photo in iPhoto. You need an external editor for that:
In order of price here are some suggestions:
    Seashore (free)
    The Gimp (free)
    Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
    Acorn ($50 approx)
    Pixelmator ($50 approx)
    Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate. You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • How to run (user)config.xml to add Fonts in embedded FOP 020.5 with PDF

    Hi,
we are having problems with showing certain PDF characters, resulting in # (ÂăãÆæßČč¢ results in Â#ãÆæß##¢).
Within the (user)config.xml you can add Fonts, see code, but how to run it from the XSQLFOPSerializer ????.
We copied the Arial Window fonts to Linux.
I tried several things but nothing worked, see code:
    * Tested with the FOP 0.20.3RC release from 19-Jan-2002

    FOPDriver.setLogger(logger);

  • IPhoto allowed me to add location to photos taken by camera with no GPS.  Photos doesn't have this facility. is there any way to do this?

iPhoto allowed me to add location to photos taken by camera with no GPS.  Photos doesn't have this facility. Is there any way to do this?

    From http://geotag.modesittsoftware.com/Photo_GeoTag/FAQs.html
    1. Does Photo GeoTag work with iPhoto and Photos?
iPhoto and Photos store their image files in various undocumented locations, and they seem to store the image metadata in separate locations.  If you edit an image in one of their sub-folders, iPhoto or Photos may not know about the change.  Instead export the image from iPhoto or Photos, geotag it, and then import it back into iPhoto or Photos to see the geotagged location.  In the future Apple may provide a means of accessing the image files directly, but for now you must geotag the photo before importing it, or if the photo is already in iPhoto or Photos, export, geotag, and then import.
So it would seem that it isn't much better than using iPhoto 9.6.1 to do the geotagging, exporting the original from that app, & importing it into Photos.
