Add-In for Virtualized Outlook 2013

I have downloaded the App-V 5 SP2 version of Office 2013 by following the instructions on the Microsoft site
http://technet.microsoft.com/library/dn481351.aspx?ocid=wc-bl-sprblog and the applications are loading successfully. But when I tried to add Enterprise Vault using a connection
group, the add-in does not load when Outlook 2013 is opened. I can see the App-V connection group folder as well as the EV client folder, but the add-in is not available in Outlook.
I followed the instructions on the following sites for updating Add-Ins in virtualized office 2013, but still the add-in is not available in Outlook 2013.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/gladiatormsft/archive/2013/07/25/app-v-on-that-failed-office-add-in.aspx
http://www.the-d-spot.org/wordpress/2014/01/14/app-v-5-error-publish-connection-groups/
A separate App-V 5 SP2 package of Enterprise Vault was linked to the Office 2010 SP2 package using a connection group and it loads successfully.
Any idea what could be blocking the add-in from loading when Outlook 2013 is opened?

Hello,
Have you reviewed this using Process Monitor to determine what happens during the startup?

  • Add font for virtualized Office 2013

    Hi,
I need to add a font for Office 2013.
Usually, a font should be added to Windows\Fonts. I believe it should work for virtual Apps too?
Can we do it on package level?
    Thanks.
--- When you hit a wrong note its the next note that makes it good or bad. --- Miles Davis

Generally you can add fonts to app-v packages.
Tim Mangan did some research on the pulishing performance of that and also documents some background information: http://www.tmurgent.com/appv/index.php/resources/research/293-deploymentperformance
However: As the Office 2013 App-V package can't be modified with the Sequencer, you'd have to find other methods. One would be to copy/install the Font inside the virtual package using a DeploymentConfig, or you install the Font locally - maybe also using
    the DeploymentConfig.

  • Recieveing "OnUCAppointmentGetVisible" error in Outlook 2013 (64 bit) - "Custom UI Runtime Error in Lync Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office 2013"

    Hi All,
I originally posted this in the MS Support forums (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-outlook/recieveing-onucappointmentgetvisible-error-in/1a40eca2-8cd1-40f1-a92f-cb08f0af6b72), but was directed over here.
I have recently upgraded an installation of Office 2010 to 2013 (both 64 bit) but am now receiving an error which says:
Window Title - "Custom UI Runtime Error in Lync Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office 2013"
An error occured while calling the callback: "OnUCAppointmentGetVisible"
This seem to happen when I initially open a calender entry, and when I close the entry (most only the first time I close the entry).
I did have some developer tools installed for Office 2010 and VS 2010 which played around with Excel,2013 but I have now uninstalled these.
In addition, BCM 2010 was installed (but for the time being has been uninstalled), but I don't think that is the culprit.
The issue is being caused be an Outlook add-in. I have three COM add-in enabled, but the one causing the issue in the "Lync Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office 2013".
We are currently trialling Lync in a demo installation which is in a different domain to any of the Exchange accounts, but should this cause a problem? For the time being I have disable this add-in.
    Regards,
    Chris
    Chris

    Hi,
Sorry for my misunderstanding. If the issue is determined to be caused by Lync Meeting Add-in, please remove this add-in from Outlook, then go to Control Panel to repair Office 2013 program. After repairing,
this add-in would be automatically reinstalled. Please check whether the issue persists. About how to repair Office programs, please refer to:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/repair-office-programs-HA010357402.aspx
If the Lync Meeting Add-in is not automatically reinstalled, please try to manually add this add-in by the following steps:
    1. Starting Outlook 2013 as an Administrator (right click, run as Admin).
    2. Click File > Options > Add-ins, Manage Com Add-Ins Go... > Add..., C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\UCAddin.dll, OK.
    3. Close Outlook and start it as a normal user.

  • Can' add Exchange account to Outlook 2013

    Hi,
We have an Exchange 2013 server which as far as I know is fully working - Outlook clients on the domain connect fine, OWA works fine and mobile devices work fine.
However I have a problem when trying to add an Exchange account to Outlook 2013 when this computer is on another domain (separate network, separate domain, separate company).
I assume Outlook is searching for an Exchange server which isn't there but how can I get around this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Please try to alter the authentication method on the relevant CAS servers to Basic and test the issue. For details:

  • Add-in for Access 2010/2013 with Visual Studio 2012 (2013 Preview)

    Hello!
Am i right: Microsoft wants to kill Access in favor of Azure/SQL stuff?
I was unable to find any Projects in Visual Studio 2012/2013 to create an Addon for Access 2010 or 2013 (only Word, Excel, Outlook).
    There is even no Microsoft.Office.Tools.Access.ApplicationFactory
to install add-in to Access App.
    Any solutions for VS 2012?
Or i should use outdated Shared Add-in with VS 2010?
    Thank you!

    Sorry Donald M from Microsoft,
You need to rethink that response.  IDTExtensibility2 is an outdated Office 2003 technology.
Everything EXCEPT the ThisAddIn.designer.cs reference to ApplicationFactory _factory compiles when you switch references in another Office application's VSTO project template to msaccess and dao libraries.  Even the Access icon shows up in Visual
Studio 2013.  The only reason a Ribbon.xml project will not load into Access is that Microsoft hasn't provided the Microsoft.Office.Tools.Access DLL for it.  If you leave the Factory reference pointing to global::Microsoft.Office.Tools.Factory,
the add-in compiles but will not load.
MICROSOFT: Please provide us the missing Factories for MSAccess and OneNote.

  • Change the default country code for new contacts in Outlook 2013 for countries not listed in Control Panel Region Format

    Dear all,
I would like to change the default country code for new Outlook 2013 contacts. My country is Mozambique (+258) and is not listed under Control Panel> Region> Formats> Format:
Is there any place (registry maybe, anywhere) where I can manipulate the existing formats or manually add a new format to the List ??? - for example Portuguese (Mozambique).
    I am using Windows 8.1
I have tried changing the country on the phone and modem options and nothing changes. Also changing the Home Location on Region> Location to Mozambique didn't change a thing. The only place where I change something and produces results is the
    Format List.
Any ideias???? If not, is there a place where I can ask Microsoft to include Portuguese (Mozambique) on future windows updates???
    Kind regards,
    Osvaldo

    Hi,
Windows uses the information set under
'Phone and Modem'  in the Control Panel to determine the default area code.
You can change the country/region to
    Mozambique
and set your area code here:

  • ICloud Add-in Keeps Disabling Itself in Outlook 2013

I have installed and synced the iCloud add-in with Microsoft Outlook  2013 (32-bit) on my Windows 8 (64-bit) desktop.  It has worked reliably for more than one year, reliably syncing data between my PC, "the cloud" and my iPhone 4s.  A few days ago, I noticed that the add-in was not enabled in Outlook.  I enabled it via "file", "Options", "Add-ins" in Outlook and it then worked just fine.  However, each time I closed Outlook and re-opened it, the add-in had once again been disabled and had to be manually enabled again.
I have uninstalled iCloud, "repaired" Outlook, re-installed iCloud and the situation has not resolved itself.  I have now gotten used to the hassle of manually enabling the add-in each time I open Outlook, but I would obviously prefer to get things operating properly.
An suggestions how to solve this issue?

I have had this issue on three separate PCs.  It's maddening but I have found a solution that works (at least on my PCs).  I fixed it with this tip I picked up in another forum.  Here are the steps:
1 Connect to Outlook 2013 as Administrator (right click Outlook icon and select 'Run as Administrator')
2 Disable Icloud Addin (In Outlook Options)
3 Close Outlook and restart PC
4 Run Outlook 2013 as Administrator
    5 Reactivate Icloud Addin
    6 Close Outlook 2013
7 Restarted Outlook 2013 as normal User
Have had no issues since.  This fix worked on both Outlook 2010 (one install) and 2013 (two installs) for me.  My theory is that something done in the enablement step requires actual 'Administrator' instead of delegated 'Administrator' rights.
Happy trails, I hope it works for you too!

  • Outlook 2013 patch of November 12, 2013 makes Outlook repeatedly prompt for credentials

    Hi,
Since November 12 Tuesday patch day my Outlook 2013 would repeatedly prompt me for credentials on one of my Exchange account. I reported this to our help desk in charge of mail services and they couldn't explain how this can happen as my mailbox was configured
correctly using Auto Discovery. Deleting and recreating my Outlook profile did not help as didn't further tips found on the net. I could confirm my correct credentials 10 times in a row and the window wouldn't stop popping up immediately again. If I clicked
cancel, the prompts would reappear after a couple of minutes. This can be hugely disruptive to one's productivity.
Since I realized all had been fine since that massive roll out of updates, I began to wonder which update exactly may have caused it. My plan was to uninstall updates of that day one by one and to narrow down the culprit.
    My first shot was successful:
Security Update of Microsoft Outlook 2013 (KB2837618) 32-Bit edition
When uninstalling this one, another update is removed automatically:
Update for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB2837643) 32-Bit edition
That was it. Once these guys were removed, there was finally peace again. But beware! If you have automatic Windows Updates enabled, they are quietly streamed back to your computer in a matter of minutes and the infernal prompts start again. Hence, you basically
have to turn automatic updates off and then make sure these get not installed again in future.
At least until Microsoft provides a patch for the patch.
As a sidenote, I should mention that this problem only occurs for one of my 3 Exchange accounts, all with different companies (none is a Microsoft Cloud-based one). So perhaps it is the interaction of that new update AND some faulty server-side settings that
are at the root of the problem, really. As I'm no sys admin, I wouldn't know how to figure it out but leave the clues given here to the experts. Very ironically, I never encountered any problems with any of my Exchange accounts on any of my Mac or iOS clients.
EDIT: In the bugfix description ttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/2837618 they list under known issues: "After this update is applied, you may experience issues with S/MIME certificate verification in Microsoft Outlook. This issue is caused because the update
disables remote intermediate certificate fetching in Outlook." And then they give you a registry hack to apply at your own risk. I do not know how to decipher this, do "issues with S/MIME certificate verification" give rise to the infinite loop
    of credential prompts?

With the MS update rollout of 14 January 2014, the new patch to remove manually to maintain normal functionality and not have the above repeated credential prompts is: KB2850061 (Update for Microsoft Outlook 2013), http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2850061
Otherwise, since that day, the prompts kept reappearing on my computer.
Please vote up my posts if you find this information useful.

  • Outlook 2013 crashes when PDFMaker add-in is enabled

Outlook 2013 crashes when the Acrobat v.11.0.3 PDFMaker add-in is enabled. Outlook 2013 will automatically disable the add-in.
The Outlook 2013 version is 15.0.4517.1509, 32 bit. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit is the OS.
Below is the screenshot of the Outlook Account Info page.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I was having to start Outlook 2013 two times every time I turned on my computer (running Windows 8.1 64-bit). The first time, Adobe Acrobad crashed Outlook, disabled PDF Maker, and closed. The second time Outlook started, told me it disabled PDF Maker, and gave me the option to re-enable. I then click to re-enable PDF Maker.
However, I tried LoriAUC's suggestion #1, to launch Outlook 2013 as Administrator. When I did that, Outlook just started up without disabling PDF Maker and without crashing. And PDF Maker remained availble to use within Outlook. That's the way it should always work.
So, I remember that Outlook ran fine with PDF Maker until this month of February 2014. I wonder what changed, Outlook or Acrobat Standard Edition so that Outlook crashes (unless running Outlook as Administrator).
In the meantime, I wonder how to make Outlook start as Administrator automatically without my having to do any extra steps. Or is there a better fix.

  • I cannot email attachment directly from Acrobat to Outlook 2013.

I get the message "there is no default mail client"  But outlook is correctly set as default.  can email from other apps, just not acrobat. I have differnt computers with different systems and each cannot email to outlook.
Using Acrobat 11 Standard to Outlook 2013 64bit under Win 8.1 Pro 64bit and Acrobat 9 to Outlook 2013 64bit under Win 7 Pro 64bit.  Also, Acrobat 11 to Outlook 2013 64 bit under Win 7 Pro 64 bit. The common element is Outlook 2013, but Microsoft Tech says it is a Adobe issue since other apps work.  Was using Acrobat 9 to Outlook 2003 32bit under Win XP 32bit.
Is there an issue with 32 bit Acrobat to 64bit Outlook 2013?

Yes.  I discovered that. So I upgraded Acrobat to v11.0.5 on that computer.  I have 2 computers in my network, both run Win 7 Pro 64bit; Acrobat 11.0.5; Outlook 2013 64bit.  Each computer will not email, returned the message "there is no default mail client". (Each computer has a separate license for Acrobat, Outlook 2013)
Edited the registry in 1 computer, it worked. This computer was running Acrobat 11.0.0 at the time of the registry edit.  Acrobat upgraded automatically to v11.0.5 it corrupted the registry files, Outlook would not open until it rejected the Acrobat Add-in "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin".  This happened in both computers. I then edited the registry in the other computer and it worked.
Each computer boots up to "there is no default mail client" pop up. Ran repair in both Acrobat and Outlook, didn't work. No issue other than the Addins corrupts Outlook 2013. Each computer has the same issue.  Home computer with Win 8 Pro 64bit, Acrobat 11.0.5, Outlook 2013 64bit, with Addins and registry edit, is working fine.
The issue seems to be 32bit Acrobat conflicts with 64bit Outlook 2013. What does the Addin do?

  • Outlook 2013 send and receive setting

    Hi all,
I have a strange Outlook 2013 problem. Occasionally, "Scheduled an automatic send/receive even XX minutes." setting in Send/receive page gets uncheck by itself. Sometimes, I notice that my emails are sitting in my outbox and when I check the send/receive settings, above
    setting is checked off.
Has anyone else seen this issue and know of a way to prevent it from happening?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
There are several possibilities that may cause this issue.
    1. A GPO setting may forbid the user to define Send/Receive Groups. If other users couldn’t check that checkbox, either, please verify with your administrator if there’s a Group Policy forbids that setting.
    2. The 3rd-party services/add-ins could also be the possible reason, let's troubleshoot this from running Outlook in safe mode, to determine if it is 3rd-party add-ins related:
    To start Safe Mode:
Press win + R and type ”outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe mode, disable the add-ins to verify again:
    1. FILE > Select Options
    2. Under Options – click Add-ins and now you are able to disable Add-in for your Outlook
    3. Once you have disabled the unwanted Add-ins, restart Outlook to apply the change
Feel free to post back. Thanks.
