Add Internet Radio Channel to iTunes.

How can I add internet radio channel to iTunes?

Take a look here:
"How to Listen to Internet Radio Stations": _http://www.macinstruct.com/node/101_
And if you are having trouble with a url- look at the html source. This gives a rough example of an internet radio site that you can listen to in Safari. So, How do you get the url into iTunes?

Is it possible to create a link that I can place on a website to an internet radio stream on iTunes?

Yes, but it WON'T play through the browser. It'll require any visitor who clicks it to have iTunes installed, and it'll open iTunes as soon as they do.

  • Can itunes or SONOS internet radio channel be networked to an OPPO BDP-103D

Good afternoon. I just purchased an OPPO BDP-103D blu ray player. I've connected it to my router via an ethernet cable and am trying to get the player to stream music from my itunes library. Similarly, I'd like to also stream internet radio to the player. Some people have suggested that I install DLNA software. I am not sure what that is. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

I can't even edit the above post to fix spelling mistakes. What a joke apple has become.
Oh, but I can edit this post... wow... fail.

  • How do I add my radio staion to itunes radio?

We stream a 24/7 internet radio station, currently available on our website and also available on TuneIn Radio and ooTunes.  How do we get our stream added to iTunes Radio?
    Thanks,

if you put a CD in the computer, you should get a pop up window that asks if you want to import it.
Or you can go to the 'add to library' or 'import' options in the file menu and use that. a window pops up for you to browse and select a source to bring in your music files. that works for cd's as well as music files on your hard drive.

  • I upgraded to iTunes 12, and promptly lost my internet radio playlists. How can I recompile my Internet Radio playlist in iTunes 12?

I've been eyeballing iTunes 12 and not enjoying it. I didn't much like the original upgrade to iTunes 11, but at least I kept my beloved Internet radio station playlists.
After upgrading iTunes to the latest version, not only is the interface once again all screwed up from the previous version (LITTLE changes, people. Not BIG changes) now I can't find how to create a playlist of my most commonly listened-to radio stations.
This is kind of a deal-killer for me with iTunes, because when I'm taking care of kiddos, I can't stand to hear the same songs over and over and over again - it's far easier for me to plug in the station list and select from the list of my favorites (much like having my radio station presets in the car when we're driving) instead of scrolling through everything.
So, does anyone know if this functionality (adding Internet Radio Stations to a playlist) is gone forever, or is this yet another Apple "upgrade" like the iPhone 4 and its "wonderful" new phone antenna?
Seriously, it's like the product management group of the software just decided that convenience wasn't healthy for its users and went right to removing long-time functionality that was the only real reason I kept iTunes around instead of another music content management system like MediaMonkey or WinAmp.

Click on a station and drag to the left. The playlists sidebar will open up. Drop on the playlist you want to add to.

  • How do I access internet radio stations in iTunes 11

In the previous version of itunes, you could listen to internet radio.  In the new version this seems to have been eliminated on the ipad.  Is that correct, or maybe I just can't find it.

There was never Internet radio on the iPad. Now there is iTunes Radio but it is only available in the. U.S. at this time.

  • Delete Radio channels in iTunes?

I have a huge number of Radio channels that Apple iTunes (v 10.6.1) comes with by default (as you know if you've ever looked at the Radio listings).
How can I delete most of them so I don't have to scroll through them?
If I have to do it via Terminal or going in to the System folder it's okay.
    Thanks for any info.

You can create a playlist and drag only the stations you want to this playlist.
Then go to iTunes prefs > General and uncheck Radio..

  • Where can I find Internet radio in the iTunes 11?

I upgraded to iTunes 11 and no longer seem to have the option to click on "Internet radio".  How can I do this in the new iTunes?

Thank you soooo much!... this worked!... I could not see that before, but do now.  Many thanks Stephen!

  • How Do You Add A Radio Station In iTunes?

    Greetings:
Subject line says it all. I wish to add talkradio station WABC to my iTunes listing. You can hear it on-line, but how can I add it to my iTunes listing?
    Thanks!
    JimWG

Like James Bearde said, you can't add it to the Radio list in the Source, but streams can be added to the library.
If you provide a link to that specific station, we can have a look.

  • I just got a MacBook Air and there doesn't seem to an internet (radio) option on iTunes. I'm in Canada and have it on all of my PCs. What gives?

There's not option for it. How can I have it (and have for a long time) on my PCs but not on the Mac? Am I missing something?
    Thanks!

  • Can I add radio stations to iTunes?

Thanks Ryan, but how in the name of our dear lord in heaven do I add a radio station to a smart playlist.
All I have is the URL:
    http://www.garnierstreamingmedia.com/asx/radio538.asp
    So no drag+drop.

Baltimore, Maryland Yes, you can add radio stations to iTunes. However, you cannot add the radio stations to the “Radio” source in the source list. You only have the ability to add radio stations into the “Library” source.
You can always make a Smart Playlist, though, and name it something such as “My Radio Stations” or a name of your choice. What this will do is organize all of your personal radio stations that are not listed in the "Radio" source and create easy access and some organization to your downloaded internet radio stations in iTunes. To find internet radio stations, here are a few links:
    • DDance.FM Digital Dance Radio
    • Macstreams/Rogue Amoeba
    • Live365.com
    • UK Radio Stations
    • Shoutcast
    • Radio-Locator (not the best for locating online radio feeds)
There are other sites, of course. When you go to these sites, you will see lists of internet radio stations. To get the station of your choice into iTunes, you will need to download either the .pls, .m3u, or .mp3 file from that station. Once the file has downloaded, find it on your computer and double-click it. This should open iTunes. Note: XM Radio Online will not work for this. If it ever does work, I will update this. Sorry! If not, drag the file into iTunes Library and it will import into your library. Now, onto organizing and creating the Smart Playlist of your internet radio stations.
To create a Smart Playlist based on the internet radio stations you have downloaded, go to File > New Smart Playlist. A window will appear asking you for information. Make sure the “Match the following condition:” box is checked. From the first drop down menu, choose “Kind.” From the second drop down menu, choose “is”. To the right of that is a blank field where you can enter in what kind of file you wish to have in this Smart Playlist. You will want to add “MPEG audio stream” (without quotes) in that field.
Lastly, check the box that says “Live Updating” which will update your Smart Playlist of radio stations when you add more stations to your library. Then whenever you want to listen to your favorite radio station, you can click on that Smart Playlist in the source list and you will see all the internet radio stations you have added to iTunes.
    Enjoy the music!
Note: There is no way of adding an internet radio station to the "Radio" source list in iTunes. Contacting Apple more than likely won't yield a response, but you can list your station on Shoutcast, Live365, RogueAmoeba (links listed above) to be seen and heard by listeners worldwide.
iTunes does not support Windows Media Player format or Real Player One format, so those streams cannot be played through iTunes and must be played through their respective applications.

I read the answer to this question and appreciated the information, but where on the web do you find the sources that were listed - namely:
    • DDance.FM Digital Dance Radio
    • Macstreams/Rogue Amoeba
    • Live365.com
    • UK Radio Stations
    • Shoutcast
    • Radio-Locator (not the best for locating online radio feeds)
I would like to add internet stations, too, but don't know how to find the stations.

  • Please walk me thru creating a playlist in iTunes for internet radio stations

Please walk me thru creating a playlist in itunes specifically for internet radio. The itunes help page is not detail enough.

    Create a new playlist
    Open iTunes
Click the + button in the lower left corner of the window.
    Name your playlist
    Add radio stations:
On the left side of the iTunes window, at the top is the "Library" group. Under "Library" should be an item called "Radio." Click that to open the radio listings. If you do not see "Radio" in iTunes, go to the menu bar at the top of your screen and open iTunes > Preferences. In the preferences window, under the General tab, make sure Show > Radio is checked and click OK.
Find a station in the Radio listing.
Drag that station from the listing on the right side of the window to the new playlist you created on the left side, and drop.
You now have a playlist with a streaming radio station in it.
To add stations not listed in the iTunes radio listings:
Locate the stream URL (if you need further help, post which radio station you want exactly)
Copy the URL to your clipboard (command+C)
    open iTunes
In the menu bar at the top of your screen, click on Advnaced > Open Stream...
    Paste the URL (command+V)
    Click OK
Your new radio stream should now appear in a playlist called "Internet Songs." Open that playlist.
Drag the station from the Internet Songs playlist into your own playlist.

HOW CAN I ADD FOREIGN RADIO STATIONS TO ITUNES? I HAVE NO URL'S.  I HAVE THESE STATIONS IN MY BOOKMARKS BUT WANT TO CONCENTRATE THEM ALL IN ITUNES. THE GENIUSES HAVE NO ANSWER NOR DOES APPLE VIA TELEPHONE.

I HAVE NO URL'S.  I HAVE THESE STATIONS IN MY BOOKMARKS BUT WANT TO CONCENTRATE THEM ALL IN ITUNES. THE GENIUSES HAVE NO ANSWER NOR DOES APPLE VIA TELEPHONE.
When you have the stations in your bookmarks, you should be able to get the url.
Open the bookmark in Safari or your browser  the URL should be displayed in the URL field at the top of the Browser Window. Copy that URL and open the stream in iTunes:
    Choose File > Open Stream.
Enter the full URL of the file you want to listen to.
    What exactly is the problem?

  • ITunes not recognise iPod if playing Internet Radio

Anyone had this since iTunes 6.0.5 update and also the iPod update last week. If have Internet radio playing in iTunes and you connect your iPod the Mac recognises it, however iTunes doesn't see it. I know this used to work as I pretty much always have a net radio station of some sort playing when on my Mac.
I would submit it as a Bug but no idea if you can.

Appears to be fixed in recent versions

this issue just arose over the last month or so and no changes have been made to my bandwidth.
    Except for the following possibiblites:
Your bandwidth might be being throttled by your internet provider.
Your internet may have a fault.
Perhaps your Wi-Fi security has been breached by someone nearby.
Perhaps the other services (Grooveshark and Spotify) use a lower bandwith (I don't know).
For numbers 1 & 2, try a speed check to see if your internet connection is as fast as it's supposed to be.
For number 3, change your password to your Wi-Fi.
For number 4, check the Bit Rate of each stream.
On the other hand, if this new information that you added is fact ( it actually occurs if I even listen to music from my iTunes library, not just internet radio ), then perhaps iTunes is at fault and the best fix may be to repair iTunes.
To repair iTunes, download the iTunes installer and when you run it, use the Repair option.
