Add iview/Pages to portal favourites?

Portal favorites option does not add the iview or page to portal favourite

Hi All,
When I click on the option button in portal content area after opening a Iview or page, the short cut menu is showing the option 'Add to Portal Favorites' . Clicking on 'Add to Portal Favorites' is not adding the iview or pages to the portal favourites section below the detailed navigation.
I checked the Page Title Bar Iview(com.sap.portal.pageToolbar) property in default framework page, to know whether 'Show Add to Portal Favourites' option is set to 'Yes', it was not set to 'Yes' and then I set the property to 'Yes' After this I tried adding to portal favorites but the functions are not getting added.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

I have check the default framework and the settings for show add to buffer and also the context menu settings,
favorites are not getting updated , unless we click on some other transac

Trigger Navigation an iView/Page from Portal component

All,
I am writing AbstractPortalComponent and after performing some logic, I have to forward the control to a iView/Page. Please let me know how I can trigger navigation to a iView/Page from within AbstractPortalComponent.

You can use EPCF Navigation API in response.write.

How eo add default page in portal under home tab in portal

Hi All,
I have to make one welcome page for my portal the reason behind is that when i log on to portal under Home role theare is no page assigned so blank view is available that looks very dull..
What i want to achive is that to createIview and assign that iview to role so that by default when i log on to portal directly that iview is displyed instead of blank view..
any help will bw appretiated. and rewarded with poinits.

Hi Vinit,
What you can do is that create the desired Page or iView and assign it to the "Everyone" Group, which is SAP Provided, as this group is by Default added to every user., so automatically when you will login to the portal that page or iView will be displayed.
The Everyone group will already have a role "everyone" assigned under itself.So create a Iview adn assign it to a role say "Welcome Page Role" and add this role to Group "Everyone".

Last Use Date for iViews/Pages/Workset - Portal clean up of old items

Is there any scripts that SAP has created that shows the Portal Admin which iViews have been recently used by the users and which ones have not. We would like to go through our environments and Clean Up/Remove old none used code in the PCD.
I am hoping there is a script that can be run which produces a report stating Last Used/Executed date. If there is nothing like this, does any one know if there is any Data Base table or fields that can identify this type if data so we can create/write our own script? The PDC inspector may do this but its a very manual effort and we'd like something that is automated and runs in the background.
I know we can turn on metrics, but that will not work for us because it completely bogs down our systems and we can't afford that. Hence we are looking for something that runs in the background and will not effect our environments.

Thanks everybody for trying to asnwer the first question.
But I guess what I am really looking to find out, for every item we have in the PCD, is there a way to find the last used date? We don't want to turn on the metrics for a period of time like some of the solutions have suggested since that will bog down out production system and it still won't help us identify in our DEV and Test regions items that might still be valid but haven't been touched for a while or are still in development phases.
I was hoping that there would be a way that SAP would allow us to enter in a folder name, iview, workset, page, role, etc and then have the system tell us the last used/accessed date for that item or all of the items in the PCD folders. Kind of the reverse thought to get this data instead of letting the metrics tell us which users have hit which pages, etc.
Does any one know of that type of option?

Translated content in Portal Favourites iView

Hi All,
I have Portal roles in two languages English and German. I set the browser language to check the translations. Initially the browser language is English. When we add the role to Portal Favourites and then change the browser language to German, the text in the Roles is changed but the text in the Portal Favourites iview still remains in English. Can anyone tell me how to translate the content of Portal Favourites iview?

Hi,
You can upload an Image or an HTML file in the KM Repository and then create an iview pointing to that file. Assign that to a role and and make the entry point YES.
Assign that role to user.
Whenever that user logs in the image will be displayed.

Problem while opening the BI reports in Portal Favourites

Hi All,
While trying to add a BI report in Portal Favourites, I am able to add the reports in portal favourites but when I click the reports(inside Portal Favourites) to open it , it will not open the reports but opens the very first page of the portal which we get after login to portal.
Please tell me how can I open the respective reports which I added in portal favourites.

Doesnt seem to appear as a portal issue neither it is a reader issue. Might be some issues with the network which isnt allowing the entire file to get downloaded and hence causing the browser to hang.

When user tries to add a km document to the portal favorites iView, a pop up message appears on the screen: "The property 'Write Tray API' of the page must be set to 'true'"

Solution
-Open the framework page for edit.
-Check the Desktop Innerpage (com.sap.portal.innerpage) and choose Properties.
-In the Property Category, switch to "Show All".
-Set the property "Use API of Tray" = to "Yes".
-Save your changes.

I have created a URL IView and selected the 'Add to Favourites' option as yes. and assigned the iview to a page and has set the properties of the page 'Add to Favourites' also as yes. But I can't see the option 'Add to Favourites'. Can you please let me know what's the reason??

Framework Page ->Open Desktop Inner Page -> Portal Favorites iview
Click on the Visisble check box.
Now refresh / delete cach and login again -> Now the Portal Favorite iView should be available beside detail navigation iView.
URL iView / page containing URL iView -> set the property add to portal favorite as True
Set the Property Show Tray to True as well
Now you will see the option for add to portal favorite in the URL iView / Page Context menu (top right corner).

currently I have created an iView in the CE 7.1, SP3 environment with Enterprise Portal lite. How to add iView to the Page and subsequently add the Page to the workset?
As now, there isn't a "add" when I right click on iView.

Integrating two iviews in a single page in Portal

I am trying to integrate two iviews into a single page, in portal, but i am able to see one iview running fine and for other iview it says serivce not found.
But when i preview the iviews seperately they work fine.

Web Page Composer: making iViews available in Portal Repository tab

Hello experts.
I'm trying to make some content (banners, images, iviews) for WPC (in SAP EP 7.4) and I cannot find any information how to add an iView to the Portal Repository (see the image). It says 'The contents of this repository are defined by your portal administrator', but I cannot find any documents describing the procedure. Any ideas?

Portal Activity Report - could not see the latest iview /pages hits.

I have configured my own iviews where they will display the 2 weeks iviews/pages that are accessed by users and count (hits) , but I am not able see the iview hits and iview names or pages hits or names in this Portal activity report, I could see only very old iviews not latest.
Suggest me if there are any settings or configurations that I need to make.
