Add iWeb page to exisitng site?

Is it possible to intermingle an iWeb page within an exisiting website without creating problems and messing up my exisitng site? Or do I need to add some other way?
I imagine I could uploadt via FTP (to my server's public_html folder???) and use Contribute to link the iWeb page(s) to my exisitng site...
If all this is possible would someone give me the steps?

Is it possible to intermingle an iWeb page within an

other way?
Yes, this is possible. You just do this with links in your existing site.
I imagine I could uploadt via FTP (to my server's
public_html folder???) and use Contribute to link the
iWeb page(s) to my exisitng site...
That's right, you can upload your iWeb site folder to your server's public_html folder...just be able to describe the site folder in a URL...
If all this is possible would someone give me the
steps?
1. Publish iWeb site using "Publish to Folder" onto your desktop. You will see a folder containing two things: an "index.html" file and the actual site folder.
2. Upload this site folder to your server using your FTP program. Put it wherever you are instructed to upload HTML files. Upload just the site folder (one of the two items resulting from iWeb's Publish to Folder command).
3. Test out your iWeb site by accessing it from the URL that it should be accessible from your server... this will be the URL that you must provide links to in your existing site.
4. Edit your existing site to provide links to the new iWeb pages...using contribute or whatever you usually use. Link to your iWeb site using the URL you discovered in Step 3.
Hopefully this is all working! Good luck!

  • Add iWeb pages to .mac main page

    Hi all,
    I've just created two new pages with iWeb; I've put a photo with a link in my .mac main homepage and it works fine; however, I don't know how to add those two pages at the top of the main homepage menu where all the names of my .mac pages appear one next to the other.
    Is there a way to add the page title with its link?
    Thanks,
    Antonio

    You probably need to make a new page in homepage and then edit its html so it is just the code to redirect to your iWeb.

  • Redirect iWeb Pages To External Sites?

    I have a persona domain that I have linked to my .mac account. I have a previous blog that I am trying to substitute on my site instead of having to create a whole new one using the iWeb blog feature. How do I do this?
    Currently, I have tried to change my CNAME records at my Domain control panel. I use blogger.com so I entered in a new CNAME record that would direct to the correct destination field.
    All I want to happen is to have on my navigation bar where it says blog to redirect to myname.blogger.com. I can not figure out how to do this. Maybe I am just making it too complicated.

    I was struggling with this same problem for a few hours tonight and finally got it figured out.
    1. Create a blank page in iWeb and set it to be included in the navigation bar.
    2. After publishing your site, find the file iWeb creates called "index.html" and open it with a text editor. (I like TextWrangler, but TextEdit should work as well.)
    3. The file should be very short. Find the section that looks like this:
    meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url= PageName.html" /
    4. Replace the portion after "url=" with the full external URL you want the navigation bar link to point to. For example, your final line might look like this:
    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://myblog.blogspot.com" />
    5. Select "Save as...", and use this file to replace the blank iWeb page you created for the Navbar. (If you made Blog.html, this will become your new "Blog.html" file. (Don't just save the file, or you'll screw up your index file. We're just using it as a template.)
    For an example of this fix in action, here's my site where I did this exact same thing earlier this evening:
    www.timelypersuasion.com
    (click on the "blog" link in the navbar to see the external redirect)
    Hope this helps.

  • 'Add a Page' missing from Site Actions

    Hello,
    We are having a weird problem on our SharePoint 2013 server where the menu item "Add a page" is no longer in Site Action menu.
    All sites are publishing sites and we have custom masterpage with custom pagelayouts too.
    We don't have other custom packages/webparts/solutions installed, everything is standard SharePoint except the masterpages and pagelayouts.
    There are no javascripts error on the pages. We are running as Site Collection Administrators.
    The menu item was there before, it suddenly disappeared.
    We also installed the design package on another server and the menu item "Add a page" is there.
    There are errors in the logs saying:
    0x0D08 Web Content Management
    Publishing
    8ts5 Unexpected
    Exception in file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\Template\Layouts\EditingMenu\SiteAction.xml: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    Does anyone know what have caused this?
    Thanks.

    Hi hipplan,
    According to your description, my understanding is that ‘Add a page’ is missing in your site.
    Whether ‘Add a page’ occurred on a subsite at the same site collection.
    This issue seems to be caused by custom something in your master page.
    Please  deactivate and activate publishing features at site collection level and site level.
    Check whether the Wiki Page Home Page is active at the site level.
    Then do the followings:
     1.Open IIS
     2.Click  Application Pools
     3.Select the web application pool that you use for your site
     4.Right-click it, and select ‘Recycling…’
     5.Reset IIS
    After the above, open the site again, compare the result.

  • Trouble getting iWeb pages to hosting site

    I am having trouble getting my updated iWeb pages loaded to my GoDaddy hosting web site. Every time I update a page in iWeb and then upload the pages by ftp to Godaddy, the home page either does not show up or it is badly distored or botched. Godaddy says it is an iWeb problem. The guy said something about "scripting". I am lost and frustrated. Help please!
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the help. I have rebuilt the Index page, again. I tried the local folder, saved to Sites on the Mac. Then I uploaded just the index page directly to Godaddy using the ftp in my file manager, but this time nothing.
    I went back to the iWeb ftp to upload the Index page to the subfolder in my root directory on GoDaddy and moved all the files I could find to the root. THis time I have some of the elements of the index page in place (pictures, links) but none of the template background, colors, or fonts. All the other pages are OK.
    Here is my home page: http://www.hijinkscotties.com
    Did I miss an iWeb update that has changed anything in the program? Is this a scripting issue? (Whatever that means?)
    Thanks-

  • Adding Individual IWeb pages to existing site.

    I have a website that I created not using IWeb. Can I use IWeb to create a photo gallery page and add just that page to my website. I have a ton of pages and I don't want to start over but I like the way the slide show galleries work in IWeb. I also have good search engine placement and I don't want to mess with a good thing.

    I would suggest that it is never a good idea to try creating another page with something other than you created your original site with.
    Go back and create a page with the package you used to create the original site or totally re-build the whole site again in iWeb.
    I'm not sure you will be able to get this to work because of the way in which iWeb publishes with an html page and the CSS folder that goes with it - most others create the pages and one CSS file for the whole site.
    If you just want one page, then why not create it by hand using a text editor such as TextWrangler? Create what you want and just place a link within that page to the CSS folder that already exists for the rest of your site. This way, you will achieve a uniform look to your site with the extra page and you can easily create the links to the rest of your site and then just upload one page using Cyberduck or Transmit or something similar.

  • Iweb page link to site

    Can I set a page from iweb to go to a web site?

    You can create a link from your site to another site yes.
    Type your text and then highlight it and then open the Inspector and choose Hyperlink and then choose Hyperlink to an external page and you have created your link to a site outside iWeb.

  • Under Site Contents - Where is the add a Page or Web Part Page option.

    It seems the only way to add a page to a site is to create a document library first.

    Where is the SitePages Document Library.
    Up next to SkyDrive I click Sites. I select "My Child Site" It is a brand new site. Under the Cog there is Shared With, Edit Page, Add an app, view site contents and getting started. On the left I have Home, Site contents. If I go into Site contents I have
    the option of Lists, Libraries and other Apps or the option to create a new subsite.
    Just to be sure I clicked Create a new Subsite". Once it is up I still don't have an option to create a page. And under the Cog I have the same settings as before.
    It seems like I have to create a document library app, create a page in the library, Add the app as a web part to the home page and then have a lot of clutter from the document library app. e.g. +new document or drag files here, current view... As opposed to
    a list of links to the pages.
    It seems like a site should also be a document library or list to begin with.
    I could swear in 2010 when you were in a new site you could could click create a page from the home page.

  • Is it possible to add a page in MUSE without it adding corresponding link in Menu Widget?

    I'm building a website that has just three main linked pages. However, I want to add additional pages to the site but not have their links show up in the main menu widget. Is this possible?

    Hey thanks, mac-heibu,
    That was sooo darn easy.  I overlooked it.

  • I am running 10.6.8 and using iweb for my web site. After several SEO analysis they all indicate I need H1-6 header tags. After looking at the source code I see there are none in iweb. Is it necessary to add? If so, how do I add H Tags to iweb.

    I am running 10.6.8 and using iweb for my web site. After several SEO analysis they all indicate I need H1-6 header tags. After looking at the source code I see there are none in iweb. Are they necessary to add?  Why would one add these tags and how do I add H Tags to iweb? And are there examples to look at? I am slowly learning about simple web design and assumed that iweb was stand alone without having to write code. Is this one of the reasons iweb is no longer supported? Thanks for looking at this!

    A simple text page like this:
    Heading
        sub heading
              text paragraph ....
    Is traditionally represented by html tags like:
    <h1>Heading</h1>
         <h2>sub heading</h2>
              <p>text paragraph ... </p>
    I would guess that the use of h1-h6 tags helps search engines to understand the structure of a page as the tags imply a certain structure.
    This can be compared to more generic tags like <div> that could represent any kind of content - and may be what iWeb uses (you'll have to check yourself).
    I would generally recommend that you use some kind of up to date blog/site building tool, perhaps Wordpress or Squarespace (I haven't used either one myself) that support current web technologies - this should reduce your SEO issues and make it easier to properly support mobile/tablet users.

  • How do I add Bloglines graphic to my iWeb page

    I have created a knitting blog using iWeb and .mac. Most knitters use Bloglines to follow their favorite sites. I have added RSS to the top of my blog but would also like to add Bloglines and its subscribe button.
    I went to Bloglines, created an account, and went through the steps to pick an icon and generate the HTML to add to my web page. I have no clue how I'm suppose to add this code in iWeb.
    I did a search of iWeb's help and it seems there are only 3 choices for adding feeds, RSS, podcast, and photocast. I just want to add Bloglines to this list.
    Am I not understanding what RSS is? I thought it was different than the more specific Bloglines. Traffic to my site will be limited if I can't figure out how to hook into the knitting blogline community.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kathryn

    Instead of putting the HTML code that you get from Bloglines into your iWeb HTML files, it will be easier just to import the button graphics into iWeb and then attach the appropriate hyperlinks to the buttons using the iWeb Inspector Hyperlink tab... Here are some general steps...
    1. Go to http://www.bloglines.com and log into your account.
    2. Click on the Feeds tab.
    3. Click on the "Get a Subscribe To Bloglines Button" link
    4. Decide which button you want to use and the Control-click on the button image.
    5. Select "Save Image to Desktop" from the menu that pops up.
    6. Go ahead and enter your iWeb RSS feed URL and then click "Generate HTML"
    7. On the next screen, you'll see some code that looks like this:
    8. Copy the underlined URL from your generated HTML code. This is all you will need.
    9. Now launch iWeb
    10. Drag the button graphic that you saved into your page
    11. Select the button and the open the Inspector Hyperlink tab.
    12. Check the box "Enable as hyperlink"
    13. Next to Link To:, choose "External URL"
    14. In the URL field, enter/paste in the URL from Step 8
    That should be it! You can select the button graphic on the page and copy and paste it to any number of locations on your iWeb pages now. The link and everything should stay intact.
    Let me know if this works out for you. Good luck!

  • Can I add a custom .html page as a separate page within my site?

    I'm creating a website for my local baseball association using iWeb 1.1.2.
    I'm given several .xls files for schedules, rosters, etc. and I can save them as an .htm/hmtl page.
    But within iWeb, it doesn't look like I can import them as a separate page within my site.
    Is this possible? I suppose my only option is to create an external link to the pages correct?
    Will iWeb '11 allow me to do this?
    Thanks!

    Yes, you can in one of two ways:
    1 - put the custom page on your server and embed it into one of your iWeb pages using an HTML snippet and iFrame code as done in this demo page: Embed a Site Within an iWeb Page.
    2 - put the custom page on your server and in iWeb create a totally blank page, name it for the custom page and add the following redirect code in an HTML snippet:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    parent.window.location = "URL TO THE CUSTOM PAGE"; </script>
    Thanks to Cyclosaurus for this code
    When the visitor clicks on the page in your iWeb navbar they will immediately be redirected to the custom page.  You'll need to add a link on the custom page to send them back to your iWeb site.
    If you modify/update the custom page it will be automatically updated in your iWeb site without having to open iWeb.
    UPDATE:  3 - or add an HTML snippet to on of your pages and put the HTML code from the custom page into it.  That will display the custom page on your iWeb page.

  • Incorporating iWeb's blog page into another site

    Hello all,
    I have a site hosted by go daddy.
    Is there a way to incorporate the blogging function (or any page for that matter) of iWeb as a page in the site?
    I find Word Press just too complicated when it comes to editing the look of it.
    thanks,
    Al

    Paste this code in a HTML Snippet. It will add a menu item to the navagation bar :
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    theNavUL = parent.document.getElementById("widget0-navbar-list");
    TheLi = parent.document.createElement("li")
    TheLi.innerHTML = "<a href='Tuinproject.html'>More</a>";
    TheLi.className = "noncurrent-page";
    theNavUL.appendChild(TheLi);
    TheLi = parent.document.createElement("li")
    TheLi.innerHTML = "<a href='/'>Home</a>";
    TheLi.className = "noncurrent-page";
    theNavUL.appendChild(TheLi);
    clearInterval(chkNavLink);
    // -->
    </script>
    You can see it here :
         http://www.wyodor.net/mfi/ipad/Welcome.html
    (The 2 menu items on the right)
    Study the widget-markup files to see how it's done.

  • How do you add a "top of page" button to an iWeb page?

    How do you add a "top of page" button to an iWeb page?

    Two solutions:
    The Easy One:
    Create a Form (which will be the button) and add text to it or choose a picture from iphoto. Now give the form/picture a hyperlink to the same site. So now if you press the button, the site will refresh and start at the beginning/top
    The advanced way:
    1. Publish your site on the web (not just local). Copy the URL
    2. Now create a Button like displained in the solution above. As Hyperlink you'll now have to set external site and paste the before copied link AND add the following at the end of the url:      #widget0
    3. Add a html widget to the top of the site.
    4. The widget's content should be   <a name="anchor"></a>
    5. Publish your site again on the web and look wether it works.
    This way won't work, if the created site is linked as an iframe.

  • How do I add a banner on my iweb page

    I have a website published thru iWeb and an FTP server... I'm trying to add a banner for which I do not have a swf file. Here is the banner:
    http://files.slamcom.com/Ricard/Banner-560x120-Boule-NYC.8.html
    How can I add the banner on my site? I tried just copying the source code but it didn't work. Do I have to change the code?

    There are copyright issues when you use someone else's banner. Other than that use iFrame code and the URL you posted. You can find out more about iFrame and HTML snippets at http://web.mac.com/catucker/InsideOutside/iFrame.html.
