Add Japanese language to Blackberry desktop application software list

I have installed Blackberry Desktop Software 6.0 for blackberry curve 9300.
I wish to install japanese language pack to view japanese character on my cellphone.
Language is not available in the application list.
How can I import this new language?

When I go the languages available in the Applications menu of Blackberry  Desktop Software 6.0, there's no East Asian package available to be installed.
Hi cchr
Have you Downloaded the OS having East Asian  or all language ,First download it from the Carrier site. Then after installing it in your PC or Laptop you have to delete one or two Vendor .xml files.
Search your C: drive for Vendor.xml and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml ( On your Pc change your folders option to show hidden files/folders ) :
     C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\Windows UserName\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Then have a try.

  • Cannot install Blackberry desktop application

I have a Windows 7 operating system.  I have now tried three times to install the Blackberry desktop application from the Blackberry website with the latest version of the program on my PC (including a reboot) to no avail.  I only get a message (from Soluto) that the Blackberry program has crashed and there are no solutions yet.  Any ideas on how to correctly install this program?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    I suggest this thread:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
You may or may not need all that is there, but perhaps the Run As Administrator portion will help your situation.
If needed though, it starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
    Good luck!

  • New BlackBerry Desktop Manager software for Mac

Let me know if there is a better "BlackBerry" forum to ask these questions -- but just wondering if this software will backup Address Book on my Mac to my BlackBerry without erasing everything I've already entered into the Blackberry by hand the past 2 years...
...also we have the Enterprise (corporate account) BlackBerry license (BB 8820) - if I use the newly released BlackBerry Desktop Manager software will that make a real mess of things or is it compatible.
Thanks for any comments or references to other forums or such. I come here because everything I've done with computers since 1989 is MAC - and this is a great discussion site-- and yet my latest job is using BB's... (and most others are on PC's...)

  • Calendar as part of Blackberry Desktop Manager Software

    Hi All,
It would be a good idea to have the BB Calendar as part of Blackberry Desktop Manager Software, so appointments could be entered on the PC and then sync with a BB or the other way about.
I don't have an enterprise server, just plain old MS Outlook on my PC.
    Regards,
    Leslie.

    Hello,
As what I assume to be a business strategy, RIM specifically does not provide a PIM/Organizer with their software. Rather, they provide conduits to various PIMs so that the user has a choice as to which PIM they prefer. See this matrix for which PIMs are supported by different versions of the RIM DTM software:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB12268&sliceId=1&docTy...
BES is not required in order to sync a calendar to a BB. You can indeed sync, with the tools available today, bi-directionally calendar, contacts, email, etc. etc. etc.

  • Cannot Add or Remove Applications using the latest Blackberry Desktop Application, 700_b060_multilanguage.

    1.    I was running Blackberry Desktop BBM 610_b038_multilanguage.
    2.    I, yesterday, installed 700_b060_multilanguage.
    3.    It offered me an update to my device software, 5.0.0.975 that I did not apply as I wanted to take a backup first.
    4.    After the backup, when I wanted to update, it told me that no update exists.
    5.    After that when I connected the set, I saw many new options in the Application section.
    6.    There were many languages and applications like that abhorrent Facebook that I did not want.
    7.    I cannot seem to be able to add/remove languages AND other Applications.
    8.    I select (+) or deselect (x) my required applications and click on the apply button.
    9.    Something seems to happen and then I am back at the same page where I was with the same Applications installed that were there in the beginning. The two options that are at the bottom of the section that tells about the pending actions still shows the two actions that were there in the first place.
    10.    What can I do to remove the extra languages and applications installed and install what all I really require?
    Thanks.
    Ra.
PS. I cannot have a Data Plan on this connection for the next fortnight or so as my number is under migration from being a pre paid one to a post paid connection that offers BB services.

  • Installing Blackberry Desktop Manager Software

    Hi,
I'm trying to install the Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.0 Sp1 software
    onto a few PC's.
Once I've customised the setup.ini file and run "setup.exe /s" from the
local drive (or network drive), the program setup installs the software
    correctly.
However, when creating a Zen App object and inserting the following in
the "Run Options" tab, all I get is the MSIEXEC options screen (same as
    running msiexec.exe /?)
    Path to File:
    C:\Setup\Blackberry_Desktop_4-0_Sp1\Blackberry_DM_4.0Sp1.exe /s
    Working Directory: C:\Setup\Blackberry_Desktop_4-0_Sp1\
Any idea why the setup works when executing from Windows Explorer, but
fails when executing from Zen App objects?
    Thanks for the input...

    Hi Anders,
    Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I definitely selected the option "A Simple Application (No
    ..AOT/.AXT.MSI file)"
It's worth mentioning that the setup.exe file calls an MSI file called
    "BlackBerry Desktop Software.msi".
That appears to be done via the setup.ini file. See below.

  • Blackberry Desktop PC software v6.02 syn with Blackberry Storm

I am running MS Vista, Blackberry desktop v6.02 with Blackberry Story 9950.  I get an error 0x80040fbc.  When I was running version 6.01.18 I did not have a problem.  I have installed and installed the program about ten times.  Is there a fix for this or does anyone have version 6.01.08?
    Thanks

  • Blackberry Desktop Messaging Software - Unspecified Error?

    Hello,
Was unsure where to post this, but I'm having issues installing the Blackberry Messaging software on my home systems, a Vista Home Premium system and an XP system.  On both of them after all the "agrees" and "accepts", it comes to a screen that gives me an "unspecified error" and will not install.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,

Well, my solution only works about 10% of the time.  To recap, I noted that that when Desktop Manager is connected, I have two drive icons on my desktop display, one named Blackberry 1 ( the phone) and one named Unknown (my memory card).  I had some success getting application data to load and update by syncing then ejecting  the Unknown (memory card) icon from my Desktop and then tapping the applications icon inside the sesktop Manager window.  However, I now can get it to happen only on occasion.  Oh well.  We soldier on!

  • Blackberry Desktop Software - Request Option to Disable Software from Loading During Start-Up

After Blackberry Desktop Software automatic updates. Software become part of Start-Up option or menu. I do not want Blackberry Desktop Software to automatically load during Start-Up. The Desktop Software does not have a user friendly option to disable the desktop software from loading during start-up. Am writing you to add this feature to your desktop software. I've just completed loading v5.0.1 and again I need to hunt and peck a way through windows to delete this software from loading during start-up. This software needs to have a user friendly option to disable the desktop software from loading during start-up. When I loaded v4.x.x when I bought my blackberry your set-up wizard had this disable option, but all your subsequent software upgrades change my windows start-up to load blackberry desktop manager software. Please add this feature to your software.

  • Can't install downloaded Blackberry Desktop software

I downloaded the latest version of the BB 8100 desktop software from the BB site to my computer. It unzips OK but when it starts to install it stops every time. Have exited every Windows program first.  Any ideas?

    Problem:
Similar but not the same as errors 2738 1607 encountered with installing blackberry desktop manager software, there is no error message here, simply the WinZip Self Extractor completes, then the Installshield Wizard opens and appears to be installing.  After several seconds, a BlackBerry window opens (BlackBerry Desktop Software - Installshield Wizard) with the message: "The wizard was interrupted before the BlackBerry Desktop Software could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.    Click Finish to exit the wizard.
    Solution(s)
Ok, saw this thread was un answered so I thought I would reply in case anyone out there has this issue too, it drove me mental for a week too.  (before you read on I am not responsible for any messed up computers, blackberries or anything at all! This  is a GUIDE that worked for me and not the law!) So, here we go… I tried many many things to fix this, I am on Vista home, berry 9700 bold 2, TELUS Mobility (doesn’t really matter), Blackberry handheld OS 5.0, Vista Desktop Manager 5.0.1. English without media manager/roxio w/Sp1 downloaded from blackberry. I tried just about everything you can imagine, know my way around computers reasonably well (or so my mom tells me haha) and uninstalled the previous version of desktop manager with REVO uninstaller etc...
Some of the other things I tried that did NOT work for me but MAY WORK for you are as follows, what ultimately worked for me was step C and all sub sections of, I might start there but I am writing this in order of things I tried.
Solution A) un/re registering vbscript.dll (in c:windows\system32) to no avail…click start, run cmd prompt (should open as admin),
    1. Start à Accessories à right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator. A Windows Elevation confirmation screen will pop up. Confirm the action OR alternatively just run CMD from Start àrun à cmd and it should run as admin
    2. The Command Administrator Prompt opens to something like the following- C:\Windows\system32>. If anything else change directory by typing this without quotes: “cd\windows\system32”
    1)     Now at the command prompt, which should be- C:\Windows\system32  unregister the vbscript.dll file from Windows by typing at the command prompt (without quotes) “regsvc32 /u vbscript32.dll” (This will un-register the VB Script dll with your computer. A confirmation window will appear after this)
    2)     Now we want to register it C:\Windows\system32 regsvr32 vbscript.dll (This registers VB Script with your computer -- a confirmation window will appear after this as well.)
    3)     Try rebooting and running your blackberry software install
Solution B) Everything on this site : This Blackbery Forum Post (great post, thanks! Hey, you might learn something here that will come in handy one day if it doesn’t help you now, I did)
Follow each step there, try rebooting and running your blackberry software install as indicated
Solution B.Longshot) If A and B don’t work, you can try a repair of vista using the recover cd (if you don’t have one go here: neoSmart (I downloaded and burned image with aShampoo dvd burning software, restart windows with DVD/CD in the drive, press F12 on boot (or whatever gets YOU into ‘setup’, not the BIOS, change boot first device to CD/DVD ROM. I used this and it works perfectly, just follow their directions on the site and pick the right version for your OS etc) be *VERY*CAREFUL to NOT wipe your drive and just do a REPAIR (can take an hour), again if you don’t know what you are doing, skip this one and move on.
What DID WORK for ME, is the following (SORRY FOR THE CAPS BUT THIS IS IMPORTANT *** DO NOT ASSUME THAT USING AN UNINSTALLER LIKE REVO WILL DO ALL OF THIS FOR YOU - THIS WAS MY MISTAKE from the beginning, 25 hours later I realized that YOU NEED TO DO THE UNINSTALL AND SOME MANUAL STEPS EVEN IF YOU SELECT THE MOST THOROUGH***)
This one, D, worked for me specifically:
Solution D) Uninstall the BlackBerry Desktop Software, preferably using REVO UNINSTALLER  go:  HERE to get Revo (CNET)
Use the Advanced uninstall option, thorough option, the last one down the list, this will notonly use blackberry’s built in uninstaller, but scan for remnants of the software on your drive and registry
When prompted select all and delete everything it finds, do not skip any steps, reboot, try re-installing the blackberry desktop software
You could try a similar type of uninstaller if you have one; however, I don’t recommend leaving it to using the control panel add/remove programs, I did not try this with that method
Solution D part 2) Once you have uninstalled and rebooted
    - Delete the Research In Motion Folders from the hard drive AND Registry
Browse to C:\program files\Research in Motion, delete this folder
    Click Start à Run.
Type Regedit, and then click OK. (Please be careful here, only do this if you have a good idea what you are doing, you can really mess things up here, go slow carefully please please please)
In Registry Editor, delete the Research In Motion folder located at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\
Delete the Research In Motion folder located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\   (This key will supposedly be missing if you are removing Desktop Manager version 4.0)
Reboot, reinstall the Blackberry Software, issue SHOULD HOPEFULLY be resolved!! So there you have it. I am 99% sure one of those things will get you back on your feet....good luck,
    Good luck
I can be reached at 6packs at live dot com if you spot an error I can fix, otherwise please post to the forums!

  • Blackberry desktop software shows erro while updating

can anyone help me .. I really need help im struggling since 4 months my blackberry desktop software is not updating my device when I want to do software update it shows error that " an error occurred while downloading blackberry desktop software. please try again"

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
For some reason, the "automatic" method is failing...consequently, you need to take control and override the automatic method. The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • Blackberry Desktop Software.msi missing

At startup, Blackberry Desktop software autoloads.. Windows Installer window pops up and says: “The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Enter an alternate path to folder containing the instruction package “Blackberry Desktop Software.msi.” in the box below: C:\users\ron\appdata\local\temp\WZSE1.tmp\1 Search says the msi file is not on computer. Attempt to uninstall Blackberry software interrupted…looking for same msi file to uninstall. Original install disk is V4.7 while installed version is 5.1..so can uninstall. Perhaps I goofed the install...perhaps Norton was a problem on download. Windows 7 OS.

What I did was disable the UAC in Windows Vista, reboot, install the Windows Install Cleanup Utility (MSICUU2.exe), use that program to yank out the old Blackberry Desktop Manager software, updated the Windows Installer version, rebooted, no more issues.  Just a side note, I had to run the cleanup utility twice on the Blackberry Desktop software to remove it, which was just a couple of extra clicks.  By the way, you have to download the MSICUU2.exe from a 3rd party site now.  Microsoft will no longer endorse the program.

  • Japanese Language

Is it possible to have BB Curve 9220 installed a Japanese Language?
Reading Japanese is OK, but I'm unable to type with it. ):
    At the moment, I can only use Japanese by copying and pasting characters from a note I downloaded. ;_;
    But it's just not practical.
    Can anyone help, please?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi kagamine
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums
Yes it is possible to Install  Japanese Language on your Curve 9220 ,All you had to do is download an OS pack having all language then install it on your PC then you had to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to add  japanese  language. You can try it this way :
1.Download and Install on your PC any  OS pack having All Language or Multi- language pack from here  Carriers
( Make sure you are downloading for the same device model )
2.. Download and install the latest BlackBerry desktop software from here BlackBerry desktop software
3.Search your C: drive for Vendor.xml and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml ( On your Pc change your folders option to show hidden files/folders ) :
        C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
        C:\Users\Windows UserName\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Once completed Open BlackBerry Desktop Software ( 7.1 ) > Select Applications. > In the Language and Input Support section, select the language to be added to the BlackBerry smartphone (a + will appear next to the language to install) > Click Apply.
KB13067 : How to obtain language packs for BlackBerry smartphone.
Please try it and let us know.
