how can I add languages??
I need to translate the "resources" files.
I have the language variable "$lang", in my pages, but I don't know where put it to point to es: resources_ita or resources_esp etc. etc.

Gujarati isn't one of the languages that ExportPDF supports for optical character recognition (OCR). For a list of supported languages, please see Adobe ExportPDF FAQ.
Acrobat supports a larger list of languages for OCR, but unfortunately Gujarati isn't one of them.

It would be helpful if you could reply with the specific wording of the error message you are getting. If it's too difficult to type out, you could try to capture a screen shot of it. This article has tips on doing that: [[How do I create a screenshot of my problem?]]

Problem in changing display language, please help

I set my Mac's language settings to Japanese when I on my Mac for the first time.
Now I want to change the display language to English, so I changed the settings through System Preference -> International. I dragged English to the top of the list and re-log in the OS. All the menus are changed to English, but the login screen remains in Japanese.
I have tried to repeat the action several times but no luck. Can someone please tell me how to change it login screen back to English?

Mail in error - anyone who knows computer language please help.

My iPod has been messed up for a while, and i have tried to fix it but to no avail; so i decided to send it in. however, when i tried to access the page after i log in, it said PeopleCode compile error(Field APCWSS_WRK.AP_WSS_ISSUELAB not defined (2,17)) for program APCWSS_PROBINFO. Activate (2, 405).
after i click ok on this one, another pops up that says basically the same thing except for activate (2,300). after that there is another one that says the same except for activate (15,60). whatever that means.
any help would be great. and im getting a bit desperate so really, any help would be great.

Intermediate Level
A. Try to connect your iPod with another computer with the iPod updater pre-installed.
B. Still can’t see your iPod, put it in Disk Mode and connect with a computer, instead of doing a Restore on iPod Updater. Go and format the iPod instead.
For Mac computer
1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
6. Open the iPod Updater and click “Restore”
For Window computer
Go to folder “My Computer”
Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
Now select “Format”
Eject your iPod and do a Reset
Open the iPod Updater and click “Restore”
In case you do not manage to do a “Format” on a window computer, try to use some 3rd party disk utility software, e.g.“Partition Magic”.
C. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
Tips
a. It does not matter whether the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted firmware files on the Hard Drive of the iPod. After that, when the iPod re-connected with a computer, it will be recognized as an fresh external hard drive, it will show up on the iPod updater.
b. It is not a difficult issue for a Mac user to find a window base computer, for a PC user, if they can’t find any Mac user, they can go to a nearest Apple Shop for a favor.
c. You may need to switch around the PC and Mac, try to do several attempts between “Format” and “Restore”
Advance Level
A. Diagnostic mode solution
If you have tried trouble shooting your iPod to no avail after all the steps above, chances are your iPod has a hardware problem. The iPod's built-in Diagnostic Mode is a quick and easy way to determine if you have a "bad" iPod.
You need to restart your iPod before putting it into Diagnostic Mode. Check that your hold switch is off by sliding the switch away from the headphone jack. Toggle it on and off to be safe.
Press and hold the following combination of buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds to reset the iPod.
iPod 1G to 3G: "Menu" and "Play/Pause"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Menu" and "Select"
The Apple logo will appear and you should feel the hard drive spinning up. Press and hold the following sequence of buttons:
iPod 1G to 3G: "REW", "FFW" and "Select"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Back" and "Select"
You will hear an audible chirp sound (3G models and higher) and the Apple logo should appear backwards. You are now in Diagnostic Mode. Navigate the list of tests using "REW" and "FFW". The scroll wheel will not function while in diagnostic mode. For further details on Diagnostic mode can be found at http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/ipodsupport/diagnosticmode/
Try to do the 5in1, HDD R/W and HDD scan tests. Some successful cases have been reported after the running the few tests under the Diagnostic mode. In case it does not work in your case, and the scan tests reports show some errors then it proves your iPod has a hardware problem and it needs a repairing service.
B. Format your iPod with a start disk
I have not tried this solution myself, I heard that there were few successful cases that the users managed to get their iPod (you must put your iPod in disk mode before connecting with a computer) mounted by the computer, which was booted by a system startup disk. For Mac, you can use the Disk Utility (on the Tiger OS system disk), for PC user, you can use the window OS system disk. Try to find a way to reformat your iPod, again it does not matter which format (FAT32, NTFS or HFS+) you choose, the key is to erase the corrupted system files on the iPod. Then eject your iPod and do a Reset to switch out from Disk Mode. Reboot your computer at the normal way, connect your iPod back with it, open the iPod updater, and hopefully your iPod will appear there for the Restore.
If none of these steps address the issue, your iPod may need to be repaired.

Your iPod warranty is expired
You don’t want to pay any service charges
You are prepared to buy a new one
You can’t accept the re-sell value of your broken iPod
Rather than leave your iPod as paper-weight or throw it away.
You can try the following, but again, only do it as your last resort and at your own risk.
Warning ! – It may or may not manage to solve your problem, and with a risk that you may further damage your iPod, which end up as an expensive paper weight or you need to pay more higher repairing cost. Therefore, please re-consider again whether you want to try the next level
Last Resort Level
1. . Disconnecting the Hard Drive and battery inside the iPod – Warning !! Your iPod warranty will be waived once you open the iPod.
In Hong Kong there are some electronic shops offering an iPod service for Sad iPod, the first thing they do is to open up the iPod’s case and disconnecting the battery and the Hard Drive from the main board of the iPod. Wait for 5-10 minutes and reconnecting them back. The reason behind which I can think of is to do a fully reset of a processor of the iPod. In case you want do it itself and you believe that you are good on fixing the electronics devices and have experience to deal with small bits of electronic parts, then you can read the following of how to open the iPod case for battery replacement (with pictures)

Have I tried this myself? No, I am afraid to do it myself as I am squeamish about tinkering inside electronic devices, I have few experiences that either I broke the parts (which are normally tiny or fragile) or failed to put the parts back to the main case. Therefore, I agree with suggestion to have it fixed by a Pro.

Changing Store Language - Please help

I am an English speaking and reading person located in Hong Kong.
I recently upgrade iTunes to 7 and now I am automatically linked to the Japan Store. Problem is that I can't read anything on the site. This is really frustrating. I can't even login with my User ID.
How can I either change the Site to English, or change shop locations. I use the site for downloading Album art to my iTunes database.
What ever was changed in iTunes 7 makes it completely un-usable for me. Please revert back to iTunes 6 where I had more control.

Syncing error when trying to add songs, please help.

My ipod nano has suddenly stopped letting me add music to it from itunes and just says that it is unable to sync. Is there a way to fix this without resetting and deleting all of my music? And it is not due to a lack of space since I still have 1.32G left.

This is exactly what has happened to both our iPod nano's recently, one older model and one new one. Very annoying, I have restored them both and synced them again but get the same error 13019 message.
Both iPods are pretty new and out iMac is only 4 months old.
This has basically rendered them useless, surely they are not meant to be that disposable?
Have looked at the above suggestion which to a feeble minded person like me seems a complicated way of possibly fixing something which to my mind is a fault?

Can't Add Music-Please Help

Hi there. Figured I would run down my whole scenario and then hope that you individuals of greater experience and shuffle wisdom could help me. Here goes:
Purchased my first Ipod (2nd Gen 1G Shuffle) a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I have already exchanged it once at Best Buy for a new one. I have never used an Ipod but have used an MP3 player. The computer I am using was previously owned by my brother, who had his own Ipod and Itunes was previously installed on this computer.
Since purchasing the shuffle...:
I can't put any music on the shuffle, using any technique whatsoever. I can't drag and drop, autofill, nada. I have used existing tunes on my computer, tried importing songs from CDs, and even purchased a song from Itunes. None of the songs will go on my shuffle.
In an attempt to fix the problem I have:
1. Restored to no avail.
2. Reset the Ipod.
3. Uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes.
4. Erased all apple related products and reinstalled Itunes.
5. Updated to all the latest versions of Itunes.
6. Attempted to change, tweak, alter all itunes/shuffle settings and reversed those changes, etc.
7. Used apples ipod manuals, answers.yahoo, the whole internet, my own manual that came with my shuffle, and now finally this option (no offense) in order to troubleshoot myself without wasting anybody's time.
I can pretty much say I am at my wits end with this thing. While I'm not an IT or Comp. Science major, I also don't consider myself a complete moron so I'm not quite sure what I am doing wrong. Does it have to do with my bro's Itunes account previously being on this comp? Is it the songs I'm choosing? My roommate has a Nano and she is completely baffled to the point that while she really wants to help, she doesn't want my shuffle touching her comp or her Ipod touching my comp.
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ipod does indeed appear in the Itunes List.
When I drag and drop I get a message at the top either saying "Waiting for IPod" or "Syncing Ipod" for about 30 seconds or so and then nothing happens. The Apple Icon reappears at the top, no song, no message, no nothing.
I have used every USB port on my comp and yes I have used other USB devices before with success.

I jave just installed the trial of FLEX BUILDER 2 on my

I have a windows XP media center edition in Italian.
My flex installation is in English. And I have other Adobe
products also in English.
But... in the PROBLEMS pane and for every output I get the
messages in ITALIAN. And I want to get everything in english!! It's
so difficult to search for someting when you get an output in

Please check if the code that you have used for banner still exists , as there is no other reason the banner should still show up on page.
You can check with a new page , if its same then verify the code that you have integrated.

Why is it, if i have one video clip in the timeline, i can't just add a transition at the end of that solo clip to fade to black!?! please help!

i drag in an audio clip all of a sudden this becomes the be all and end all, and i want to sync some vid clips to that audio track, so let's say i drag in a 10 second video clip, at the end of the 10 seconds, i want to add a transition to fade to black.. i go to the transition window.. choose the cross dissolve or fade to colour, but it will not allow me to drag it on that video clip.. it always ends up on the audio track. this bloody application is so confusing compared to final cut. please help!

Yes, that little piece of info is critical. I'd say the biggest difficulty with FCPX is the whole new language.
If I read you correctly, your Audio is in the Main Storyline (Track 1 in plain old Editorese). This makes anything else you add (above or below) a "connected clip", which we can no longer think of as "Track 2" because Jobs sez so. So, yes, you cannot just add a transition to either end of a connected clip.
No argument with Tracy's solution, because I haven't seen any other general solution presented for any attempt to treat connected clips as the main storyline. And, of course, when they were "track 1" and "track 2", you could.
An alternative solution, however, is to highlight the connected clip and press Ctrl-V to bring up the Video Animation Editor. Click the "reveal button" for Compositing: Opacity (bottom, right). Once open, there is a "fade handle" to the right top. Drag it left for however much fade you wish. (there is one on the left as well, but you were only talking about a fade-out.)
A second alternative, perhaps for future projects where everything keys on audio, may be to create a Gap clip (used to be called slug) in the primary storyline before ever dropping in the audio. Then you can add video to the main story line and modify it without having to go thru hoops to do the simplest thing.

All my Windows operating Systems are set to use the UI Culture: German
With Update-Help or Save-Help you can download PowerShell help in different (any) language by use of the –UICulture parameter.
Update-Help –UICulture en-US
Because my Windows OS is set to use the German UI Culture and the Cmdlet Get-Help depends on it, I cannot access PowerShell help in a different Language (English) with Get-Help.
There is still no translated German PowerShell help and even if I have installed the en-US verbose Help files I cannot use it (easily)!
I made a suggestion on Microsoft Connect to add the –UICulture Parameter to the Get-Help Cmdlet, to make it possible to call Help in a different language then the Windows Ui Culture.
As a workaround until then you can use the .NET Class [System.Threading.Thread]::CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture to set the UI Culture and get Help in a different language.

Let's try a repair install of iTunes.
Restart the PC first.
If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair".
If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", and click "Change". Select "Repair" and click "Next" as per the following screenshot:
Can you launch your iTunes now?
