Add length to animated background clip--how does one do that?

Howdy there,
I am kind of new with Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express...I just purchased some animated clips off a website to use as a background for a foreground clip after getting the chroma key worked out with the green screen thing. What i am struggling with is to add length to the animated background clips. I can easily do that with still image where i can just change the time length but with a video, i.e. a .mov file used in the V1 track to go with a video in the V2 track it would not let me do that. The animated background clips that i have are something like 30 seconds long and i want to make them to be as long as i want them to be.
By the way, on my MacBook it is Final Cut Express, so i don't know if that makes a difference in having such capacity.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated!

You could change the speed of the animated clip. But if you want a longer clip without a speed change, you'll have to either buy the length you need, use a loopable clip, or make your own.

I am having the same issue too. It looks like many more people are having it as well. I called Apple Support a few times, but they use their standard naiive response: "we have never heard about this issue".
It is an issue of DHCP implementation on the Apple OS. My windows PCs and Printer are not having these issues..

on a Mac it is Option + Shift + K
Go to your account settings on Twitter and change your username.

Excel activex call changes between Office 2000 and Office XP. How does one manage that?

I have several Active X calls from within a VI. One in particular is
the Excel Cell Value property node in Office 2000. MS has decided to
call it Excel Cell Value2 in Office XP.
I have built and exe on a machine with Office 2000 and can run the code
on a machine with Office XP, but I can not build on the machine with
Office XP. I can also run a VI with that call
on the Office XP box, but if I mass compile the VI I get the broken arrow.
I guess I am confuesed as to why it can run but not compile. If the
ActiveX call is not there for the compile why is it there for the run?
If I can expect this does it work in reverse where I
build on an Office XP box and run on a Office 2000 box?

These problems you are experiencing do stem from the ActiveX changes between Excel versions. When you mass compile LabVIEW checks to see if everything is linked correctly, including ActiveX portions of your code. Since there are slight changes the LabVIEW compiler detects something is wrong, but cannot isolate the problem. You might need to force a recompile of that VI. Check out this link.

I pulled the bookmarks html file off of my computer after it crashed, and am trying to get my old bookmarks into firefox. How does one do that?

When my computer crashed, we managed to recover a bunch of the files and information from it. One of the files we pulled was the bookmarks.html from the firefox folder. The computer was running on Vista when it crashed, and I now have it running 7 Professional. The file is recorded as a Chrome html file on the new computer, and when I click on it, it pulls up a basic html page within Chrome or firefox that has links to the firefox website (kind of like a webpage version of the bookmarks folder from the toolbar, but without any of the bookmark adding capabilities). I'd like to get my old bookmarks loaded into firefox. Help?

Firefox hasn't used the '''bookmarks.html''' file for storing bookmarks since the Firefox 2 versions, in 2008. Later versions use '''places.sqlite''' for bookmarks and history. What you have is the default file that Firefox uses on new installations and new Profiles, which has like 6 bookmarks.

You can also use the shape tool to draw a shape roughly following the outline of the graphic you want to wrap text around, change the fill and stroke to "none", then paste your text within the shape. It's a few more steps, but it opens you up to many creative alternative layouts.

How does one peek at touches without ruining a UIScrollView?

method in a UIScrollView delegate, you will ruin the scrolling. How does one pass this even onto the scroll controller? I now that in a UIWebView you forward the event to the first object, but is there a known trick for handling UIScrollViews?

To further explain, if I want to note that touches began, and then pass the event onto the scroll handler, how does one do that? Do i pass the event to the "super"? where do I send it?

Premier After Effects... How does one places the whole movie clip into AF?

After years of using Premiere, I’m looking at using After Effects. Premiere does most of what I need (I don’t need moving graphics and titles) but the masking and rotoscoping seems to be better in After Effects. I’ve started a great video by Tom Green at school. This is probably silly question- I don’t understand is how does one places the whole movie clip into AF? I only see 30 seconds or so of the 5 minute clip on the timeline in AF.

A new problem: When I try a dynamic link with premiere AE says “Failed to connect to adobe Premiere Pro Dynamic Link”, but PP will link with AE. I just installed AF last week. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall them (along with the rest of the Creative Suite)?

I have tried all sorts of ways of adding my personal M4R file but can't find the place (within the UK versions of iTunes} to transfer this file so that I can select it as a ring tone.
I've tried also changing to the US version of iTunes and still can't find a way of doing it, although I have heard that it can be done.

You should be able to just drop it into the library within iTunes.

You can do something like this:
D2=B2*(1+C2/100)
this means in the cell D2 type the following "=B2*(1+C2/100)"... leave out the double quotes

but get "Cannot create Table" error.
