Add Logfile member when the DB has standby

Hi
We have the production database with the following details:
From v$log
GROUP# MEMBERS ARC STATUS
1 1 NO CURRENT
2 1 YES INACTIVE
3 1 YES INACTIVE
GROUP# STATUS MEMBER
1 /u02/redogrpA/MM2PROD/redo01.log
2 /u02/redogrpA/MM2PROD/redo02.log
3 /u02/redogrpA/MM2PROD/redo03.log
4 /u02/redogrpA/MM2PROD/standby01.log
5 /u02/redogrpA/MM2PROD/standby02.log
6 /u02/redogrpA/MM2PROD/standby03.log
I am thinking to add 1 logfile to each group
but is it going to have any impact on the standby database?
Do I need to create the logfile in standby DB also or it will be created automatically.? and need to change any other thing like primary DB init.ora file etc..

Hi,
Gopalra is spot on... You nee dto have a similar configuration. Follow the set of steps and u should be sorted out.
( I assume u r using a pfile. We dont use spfile bcos of security concerns )
1.) On the Stdby Box : - Take the d/b off Recovery Mode.
2.) On the Primary d/b defer the shipping of logs to the Stdby Box.
3.) Shutdown the Primary Box & make changes in the init.ora files as per your requirement.
4.) On Primary Box , get the d/b into nomount stage and add the logfile to each group
5.) On Primary d/b open the d/b.
6.) On the Stdby d/b Shutdown the d/b & make changes in the init.ora files
7.) On the Stdby d/b , startup nomount.
8.) On the Stdby d/b get the d/b into nomount stage and add the logfile to each group
9.) On the Stdby do alter database mount standby database
10.) On the Primary d/b , enable the shipping of archive logs to stdby d/b
11. ) On the stdby d/b , get the d/b into recovery anaged mode disconnect from session.
