Add metadata to Flash flv file?

I am trying to add metadata to a Flash Video file (in hoping Google can index my video).  I have Premiere CS3, and in the help menu it says, "Using Adobe Media Encoder, in the Export Settings dialog box, select XMP Info on the settings tab menu".
For the life of me, I cannot find the XMP setting tab.  Anyone know the best way to accomplish this task?
Thank you!

I do not use CS3 but i think its under the little wing menu next to 'Others'

  • Add metadata/XMP to psb file

Is it possible to add metadata/XMP to a .psb file? In Bridge the File Info Panel option is greyed out, and so are all the fields in the metadata panel.
If it's not possible to add metadata to a psb file, can anyone suggest a suitable solution so that when I save a JPEG from the psb file, I can easily get the metadata for the image into that JPEG file? I want to make sure that if I later make some changes to the psb and re-save as a JPEG, all the metadata that was in the original JPEG would not get lost (or if it does get lost, there's an easy way to add it back again).
    Thanks
    Dave

Thanks for the info, I tried saving a RAW file as a psb like you suggested, and it did indeed let me add metadata in Bridge.
So I did some more testing, and I still have no idea why I can't add metadata/XMP to these two psb files I have. They were both created by PTGUI, but I just tried creating a new psb file with PTGUI, and I could add metadata to it okay, so it doesn't seem PTGUI is causing the problem. I also tried making the file large dimensions and megabytes wise (like the two problem files), and still I could add metadata to it okay, so it doesn't seem that large file size or dimensions is the problem either.
So the solution seems to be to take a new psb file, copy all the layers from the problem psb into it, and then save the new psb file and delete the old one, then I can add metadata to the new psb file okay.
    Thanks for the help

  • Flash flv file problems

I don't know if this is a fault on my part or not, it probably is though. I have been at this for over two days now, trying to figure out a way to do convert quicktime to swf.
I managed to create a flv file of the movie, the audio and video works with it. However when brining it into flash, the video time stretches so much that it's incredibly slow. Oddly enough the audio stays the same. I can export it as a swf after publishing it, but I don't like how messed up the audio and video are.
Is there a way to restretch the video in Flash? Or any other solution you can think of. I really need help as I have exhausted all resources that I can possibly think of. I am an amateur at best with these programs. Thank you for any help...

The biggest issue with out of sync audio/video when "embedding" an flv into the main timeline is that the frame rate of the Flash doc is not set to exactly the same frame rate as the video. So if the video was shot at 29.97 frames per second, you need to set the Flash doc to exactly that, 29.97. And unless there are some Internet download connection speed issues, it pretty much keeps the audio/video synced.
It only makes sense that playing a 29.97 video file in a 15 frames per seond Flash doc will slow the video display way down, since one frame of video equals one frame in Flash... but the audio part just plays at normal speed... otherwise it would be way distorted, like playing a tape/record in slow motion.
Here's a short sample video embedded directly into the timeline in a Flash doc set to 29.97 frames per sec:
    http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/tutorials/sync.html
That being said, I would still not recommend embedding video into the main timeline except under special circumstances. Use the FLVPlayback component or NetStream to play an external video.

  • How can I add metadata to a MTS-file in Adobe Bridge?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your help!

Don't think Bridge and .MTS files are a good match but don't use those file (nor much video at all, mostly photography) myself and can't check.
But you can try it yourself very easily.
To be sure make a back up so when it does not work nothing is lost. Point Bridge to the folder with MTS files (use the folder panel for quick navigation on your HD) and when you can see a preview (or file thumb) check the metadata panel IPTC or other fields.
If you see a pencil at the right side of the panel for a field click on it and you can add info, if there is no pencil you can't.

  • How can I create a flash .flv file?

I am going to deliver 12 ultrashort films (about 1 min. each) in flv format.
    How do I do that?
I dont have Flash but there seems to be some cheaper converters that can be used - however I wonder if they will produce a quality that is good enough.
And are any of them better than others?
    Thanks for any clues.
    Ulla

Thanks but it's not a web design issue.  I has to do with the security settings on Wiki 3.  I had to disable the FiltersEnable function to get Flash embeded.

  • Flash file with flv. files in it

I have a flash file that is 4.6mb and I need to add 10 to 15 flv files. Is that going to mess up the flash file at all?

It will add as much weight to the fla/swf file as the weight of the flv files, which would be a deterent to using it on the web.  Whether or not it messes up the file is a matter of design.

Update: actually this has nothing to do with i915 (I can see the issue earlier in the journal), and after hours of downgrading/reupgrading madness the problem just disappeared... It was probably a bug of Firefox because of the number of tabs opened in the same time or something like that... Maybe related to a website in particular, since I saw some libmozalloc segfault in the log. Anyway, topic invalidated.

  • Workflow Questions - Premiere on Mac - for FLV file

    Hi.
I want to add subtitles to an FLV file using Premiere Pro. I'm working on a Mac.
I know that I can't use the FLV so I would have to convert the FLV to an intermediate format first. Then Import that into Premiere, add the subtitles, render and convert back to FLV.
So my question isn't directly associated with Premiere, but I would like to know what you guys would recommend as far as the workflow I've described. What intermediate file format would be best so as lose minimal quality? Which software to use for the conversion from the FLV and back into the subtitled FLV?
    Thanks!

  • Adding a metadata to Flash builder list

    Hello,
Where should I look for if I want to add metadatas to Flash Builder's metadata list ?
I just want my custom metadatas to beneficiate from the metadata coloring Flash builder editor offers. Or even better, define another color for my custom metadatas, but I don't think this is as easy or even possible. ( For instance, the default metadatas come with the blue color, mine would be orange )
    Thanks,
    Alex Galays

Hi, this might seem like a relatively simple problem but after spending some time, I haven't yet arrived at an appropriate solution.
    1. I have spry repeat list.
    2. I want add a counter (required by a javascript function nested within the repeat list).
I have tried ds2.getCurrentRowID and that failed.
One simple way of thinking of the problem is: how would you modify a spry repeat list to display each row, numbered 1 through n down the left-hand column?
                <tr spry:repeat="ds2" spry:odd="evenRowVenue" spry:even="oddRowVenue" spry:hover="hoverVenue" onClick="MM_callJS('GEvent.trigger(venue_list[INCREMENTING COUNTER HERE],\'click\');')">
                  <td align="left"><a href="venue_show.php?vid={@vid}">{@name}</a></td>
                  <td align="left">{@street1}</td>
                  <td align="left">{@city_suburb}</td>
                  <td align="left">{@state}</td>
                  <td align="left">{@country}</td>
                  <td align="left">{@rating}</td>
                </tr>
{ds_RowNumber} is what you are looking for.
    So in you case:
    onClick="MM_callJS('GEvent.trigger(venue_list[{ds_RowNumber}],\'click\');')">

The Moyea FLV Plugin to force Premiere Elements to import flv files is a popular question from time to time.
I know from personal experience that it does work for Premiere Elements 4, 7, and 8.0/8.0.1.
I have just downloaded the Moyea FLV Plugin from the site whose link I had previously posted in your thread in order to verify that it still works with 8.0/8.0.1 and flv importing. It still does. This was verified with a flv file, the Moyea FLV plugin, and Premiere Elements 4, 7, and 8.0/8.0.1.
    Some tips, if necessary,
Once the plugin is installed, I found no desktop icon for it.
What happened is this...You open your Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 project, you import your flv file with Get Media/Files and Folders.
At that point, you get a Moyea Software pop up with Order or Try. I hit Try.
At that point, the flv is imported, but look for it in "Project" when the Organize (blue) header is the selected. It did not pop up in the Organize/Media sector.
I have yet to remember or try versions later than 8.0/8.0.1 with this plugin. My recollection is that the plugin does not work with these later versions of Premiere Elements.
    More later if necessary.

  • How to replace Adobe Flash media player for flv files with GOM player?

By default, Firefox opens Adobe Flash for flv files. Flv files aren't listed in my application page. How can I swap Flash for GOM or another player?

    Sam,
    Welcome to the forum.
Where do you need to play this "sprite" (the name for such a Flash video)?
If you need to add that to a Video, then there could be a few challenges in PrE.
If you need to add it to a Web site, then Flash Player (free from Adobe) should be able to display that.
Can you please give us just a bit more info, on how you wish to use the sprite?

  • Flash Player for FLV files with alpha channel encoded

My goal is to play the the transparent background flash video on the bottom right hand corner similar to the video on this website : http://www.dropshipblueprint.com/
I already have the FLV file with alpha channel encoded.  I was made to understand I will need a special flash player that can read alpha channel in the flv file to make the background transparent? Is this correct? If yes, then how to accomplish this or where do I get that player, maybe opensourece player?  If the player is not a solution then how do I accomplish my end objective taking into consideration I have the FLV file with the alpha channel encoded.  Thanks for your help. • Making Flash Player Default Program for .flv Files

I'd like to use Adobe Flash Player as my default program to open .flv files.  How do I find the flash player executable file on my computer?  I have the latest flash player successfully installed on my computer (Win7, 64-bit, Firefox) but cannot locate the executable file when I use the find program to use with this file type browse command.  Any ideas on where it may be located?  I did not see it in any of the Adobe folders in the program files (x86) folder.  Thanks for your help.

Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable player.
There is a standalone player (Projector) that you can download from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html, but this player can only play .swf files.
There used to be an Adobe Media Player to play .flv files, but is is no longer available.  Use a 3rd-party player like VLC Media Player to play .flv files.

  • Adding metadata to .mp4 files or .flv files

I just recently discovered that I cannot tag .mp4 files or.flv files with metadata in bridge? Anyone know of a workaround to add metadata to these files within bridge besides using Quicktime?
    Thanks

    .....Seriously??.....
Nothing- Oh well I guess I'm the only one with this issue.
Anyways if anyone cares to know- the workaround to this issue is this:
(well it's really not a workaround as much as an upgrade)
When checking out the upgrade trial to my CS4 Suite I found that Premiere Pro CS4 can export to h.264 video as .f4v and these files can be tagged with metadata within bridge just like .jpg's- Nice. Only problem is the preview of these .f4v files do not fit the preview window- very odd- I have to use the filmstrip view to view these videos otherwise they get cut off by the normal preview window
Oh well that's a minor gripe at least I can tag these with metadata
Maybe this helps someone because I know it drove me mad trying to figure this whole thing out recently

  • Problem Inserting Flash Video (.flv) File in Page Using Dreamweaver CS4's Insert Media Command

    I am using Dreamweaver CS4.
I am attempting to put a Flash Video (.flv) file on a standard HTML page in Dreamweaver.
When I either click the Insert Flash Video in the Common tab on the Dreamweaver toolbar, or if I choose Insert > Media > FLV to inert the video, I get the standard Dreamweaver FLV interface. I make my choices, click OK, and when the video is place on the page, I get the following dialog box:
"While executing inspectSelection in flvProgressive.htm, a JavaScript error occurred."
    with an OK button.
If I preview the page, all that loads are the various buttons of the skin that I have chosen and no video.
Anyone have an idea what is going on?

Are you sure you aren't working with a template driven page?
When you insert media files into DW, it must write code in the <head> tags to reference Scripts necessary for Flash media to work on the web.
If you're working with a page that was created from a Template, the DWT page must have editable regions in the <head> tags, or you won't be able to add media to your web pages.
