Add movies to iPad

I have a work iPad synced to a computer in it. It is not synced to my iTunes - however I can add apps and music by using the add to option in iTunes
I wonder if anyone knows how to add movies as this option does not seem to be present

For example, if I am away from my computer for a few days is it possible to delete movies off the iPad and then install new ones that have already been purchased over Wifi.
Not without paying for the movie again, and the same applies to music.
An exception to this is with 3rd party apps. You can re-download a 3rd party app from the app store with your iPad or with iTunes on your computer and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally.
Additionally is it also possible to purchase movies on the iPad over WiFi that have not already been purchased.
Yes.

  • Add movies to iPad over WiFi that are already purchased

Hi - I am considering whether to purchase a 16gb or 32gb. I do not plan on have more than 4 HD movies on the device at a time, with a dozen or so plus apps, and a few books(mostly Kindle books). I was wondering if it is possible to download movies from iTunes wirelessly via WifI that have already been purchased. For example, if I am away from my computer for a few days is it possible to delete movies off the iPad and then install new ones that have already been purchased over Wifi. Additionally is it also possible to purchase movies on the iPad over WiFi that have not already been purchased.
Thanks in advance for the comments and advice.

I have movies on my Hard drive that I would like to add to my iPad how do I get them into iTunes to download to my iPad?

READ the article from which the question was posted.  Then follow the instructions for importing content to iTunes on the computer.
Once the content is in iTunes, connect the device, select the content desired to sync, and sync.

Not from Apple directly, but you can try Best Buy. They say that they'll accept non-US credit cards as long as the delivery address will be in the US.

  • How to add movies on iTunes?

How to add movies on iTunes? So I could put it on my iPad.
    Thanks in advance!

I also just tried an experiment. With the movie file on the desktop, begin to drag it across to the playlist area of the iTunes window. Hold the Option key while dragging. The file will copy in place, without adding itself to the Media folder.
I like to drag to the Playlist area because it is immediately accessible. I'm sure if you drag to the upper portion it will still get in there. But then you have to find it to work on it.

  • NEED movie to iPad export in Q.T. Pro

Quick Time Pro desperately NEEDS to add an export format:
         "Movie to iPad"

As far as the "in touch programer" goes.......I still believe someone would see this problem and within QT Pro create a link from .Mov to iPad only whereby the source file is somehow popped up to the higher dimensions so the output on the iPad is clear and not distorted.
A 320x240 display might be referred to as a 240p or 240i 4:3 aspect ratio frame containing 76,800 pixels.
A 640x480 display might be referred to as a 480p or 480i 4:3 aspect ratio frame containing 307,200 pixels.
A 960x720 display might be referred to as a 720p or 720i 4:3 aspect ratio frame containing 691,200 pixels.
As you can see from this progression, linear increases in the display dimensions increases the number of pixels (data) exponentially. That is, doubling the dimensions increases the number of pixels by a factor of 4, tripling the dimensions increases the number of pixels by a factor of 9, etc. Therefore, magnifying the 320x240 file to 640x480 pixels, means the encoding application must come up with 230,400 pixels from nowhere. Similarly, to increase the dimensions from 320x240 to 960x720, the encoding application must "manufacture" 614,400 pixels to "fill in" the display. Most applications simply replicate the original source pixels for scaled encoding or scaled display use. I.e., 640x480 encode or display would simply use 4 pixels arranged in a 2x2 matrix to represent each of the originally decoded source pixels in the new file or display or 9 pixels in a 3x3 matrix to represent the scaled encode/display for 960x720 target dimensions.
As an example, here is a sample 320x240 display which contains a reasonable amount of detail.
If you click on the above imaage, I believe you will see the 640x480 rendering. (If I have this figured out correctly.) In any case, this image is beginning to lose detail and texture. While the encoding of data at one set of dimensioins and displaying at another is a frequently used trick to save bandwidth, most users stick to a 2x limit.
Hopefully, clicking on this image will display what the original 320x240 file would look like encoded/displayed at 3x the original dimensions. If you look closely at the frames on the eyeglases shirt edges, you may note some pixellation along with a loss/smearing in details and textures.
In any case, Apple has a long standing tradition of not allowing most "presets" to upscale clips larger than their source dimensions since this work flow can greatly increase file size without producing better quality than the built-in player-device scaling feature. Still this is easly gotten around by merely performing a manual encode using QT 7 Pro or GarageBand. In fact, the manual encode would allow you to access the "Sharpen" feature which might be useful.
My little Nikon would NOT take videos at those size dimensions.  I knew when I was taking the demo, it made funny sounds.  When I loaded it on my computer, it was NOT a video but still frames that skipped mightily.  So, that camera was out as far as larger size.
Our big Canon digital did take a video.  It was larger when viewed in QT and nice and clear.  BUT when I went to QT and exported to Movie for Apple TV,  the output was BLANK.  TWICE with 2 different demos.
Can't help you here without additional information. As previously stated, MOV merely refers to the container—not the data contained in the file. Different digital cameras recoderd using different compression formats which may or may not be stored in an MOV file container. Further, some digital cameras may use different compression formats for different recording modes. A "muxed" MPEG-1 file conversion would normally lose the audio using QT conversions. Many Lion users are complaining that Motion JPEG clip convert with a "black" display screen which may be the result of a lack of native support for this video format as indicated on the Apple web site.

  • Can not add movie to itune

    Hi,
I just set up new itunes for ipod touch but i just can not add movie file (mp4) to library in itunes. Please help! Thanks so much!

Make sure you're looking for it in the Movies or TV Shows libraries, or do a search for it by name.
Did you check if the format is compatible with iTunes (QuickTime plays more formats if you have add-ons)?
"but when I open that file with itunes"
This statement confuses me as your point 1/ says you can't find it in iTunes.

  • How can I move my iPad's iTunes backup from one user to another?

Is it possible to move my iPad's iTunes backup from one user to another, so as to change which user the iPad is syncing to without deleting any app data? Currently the iPad is synced to one user on my iMac, and I would like to transfer it so that it will sync with a different user on the same iMac (using iTunes, of course). I'd like to replace content from the old user's iTunes library with my user (eg. music, movies), but I don't want to loose app data in the process if I can avoid it.
I have tried to use the pathway /Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup but my iMac doesn't seem to have a MoblieSync folder. I wouldn't know what to do with the backup anyway though.
Can anyone help me or is this request too complicated, difficult, or impossible? Thanks for your help!

The Apple Document covers this. See the footnotes of my google docs
I've done this, it is easy, but takes time and patience.
On the existing mac with OSX and Configurator:
    ========================================
    - run disk utility and verify your disks are ok, a must
    - make note of the user logged in when using configurator  such as "bob"
    - connect a new or newly reformatted USB formatted for Apple
    - run time machine and backup to the USB
    - Take the mac off the network,
    - Buy a new mac
    - setup the mac with a new logon account like Paul or  "bob2"   do not use BOB !!
    - finish the new purchase setup, get to your desktop
    - now run the migraiton assistant  moving bob from the USB to the new mac
    - reboot, logon as bob, launch configurator and connect just one ipad.  Test

How do I add movies to my iPod Touch that I have on DVD?

If you mean commercial dvd's, that you purchased, then it is illegal to do so and cannot be discussed here.

  • What is an exchange and how do I find the password in order to add a second iPad to my accunt by restoring from the icloud??

What is an exchange?  I am trying to add a second iPad to my account by restoring/synching from the icloud.  It asks for my exchange password but we do not know what that is.

If you are referring to the service listed in the Mail, Calendars and Contacts area, that refers to Microsoft Exchange, a server system they sell for email, calendaring and address book. If you have such a service, your company will tell you.
Exchange has nothing to do with iCloud, though, so you should not be attempting to set up an Exchange account in your iPad to get synchronization with iCloud. Here's how you set up iCloud on your iPad:

  • Why can I no longer add movies to my itunes library?

I am currently running iTunes 11.1.5.5 on Windows XP. (Yes, I know...it is an old computer that is dedicated to running iTunes and allowing me to run home sharing accross my network.)
My iTunes Library is housed on a NAS on my home network.
In the past, I have been able to easly add movies that I have converted with Handbrake by using the File>Add File To Library method. This worked just fine and would place the added video file in the Home Videos tab. I could then change the Media Kind under Get Information and easily have the video file relocated to the Movies tab.
This would allow me to view my movies on my appleTV while my home sharing is turned on and iTunes up and running on my computer.
The process to add videos just stopped working.
Now when I try the exact same process, nothing happens. The video file never shows up in iTunes at all. What gives?
Does iTunes have a limit on the size of the library? Is there a new process to add videos that I am not aware of?
    Any help would be great.

... and I have Read/Write permissions to the files and the folder they are in.

  • Premiere Elements 11 -- Visual C++ Runtime Error when trying to add Movie Menus

Premiere Elements seems to be working fine in all reapects, except when I try to add Movie Menus, nothing shows up in the Movie Menu area, and eventually I get a Visual C++ Run time error as shown in the attached image.  When I click OK, the program crashes.  This is repeatable.
I am running Windows 7 with latest Service Pack.  I am running dual GeForce cards, with the latest drivers.  No other software is giving me any issues.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Nick

    Steve,
    Thanks for the reply.
I have my two graphics cards SLI sttings properly configured, and they have been working correctly for every other Premiere unctionality, as well as all of the rest of CS6 applications (and Lightroom).  I have double-checked that I do have the latest drivers from nVidia's site.
I do have the latest QuickTime software.
I have gone in and updated all of the optional Windows updates.
I keep getting the same error, but I think I can describe it better.
When I go into the Movie Menu panel, the "Add a theme" link in the panel does not respond.  When I click the Menu Theme button in the upper right corner of the Movie Menu panel, I do get the library of themes to select from, but when I select one, it does not load in to the panel.  (It does download the content from online, though it doesn't show on the screen. I just see the "Add a theme" link in the middle of the page.)  The Adjustments panel on the right is completely blank.
I can click the "Done" button to close the Movie Menu panel.  But when I try to open the Movie Menu panel a second time, it crashes immediately and I get the error message from my last post in this thread.
I have repeatedly re-booted my computer, but I get the identical behavior.  All of the other functionality of Premiere Elements still work.
If the next receommendation is to re-install the software, do I have to move my projects anywhere?  Or do I just leave them and re-install?
    Thanks,
    Nick

  • HT4623 Hello!! I have just updated my iPad to version 7.0.4 and the screen will no longer rotate. It opens in landscape and after I have chosen an activity it rotates to portrait and doesn't move round as I move the iPad. Its frustrating

Can someone help please.  Since I updated my iPad to version 7.0.4 the screen opens in landscape but as soon as a select an activity it rotates to portrait and will no longer turn as I move the iPad. It is frustrating as I like to work in landscape.  Any suggestions?

I do not know if this will work or not, but when my iphone (currently not behind bars if you know what i mean) goes into a recovery loop I use this trick.
first try to get your iphone onto to apple boot logo. you can do this by holding the power and home buttons at the same time. if you can do that you're in good shape, possibly.
Next try to power down the phone. since you can't do the "slide to power down" method you'll need to hold both buttons again. this may cause the phone to power down the up again, keep holding until completely powered down.
Once powered down press the power button and up volume button at the same time and hold them both until the apple logo comes up.
once the apple logo comes up then release the power button and continue to hold the volume button.
Your phone should boot up normally then be sure to go to itunes and backup.
I do not know for sure if that works on any iphone or just my iphone and the state it is  in. but it sure is worth a shot.
    Hope it works
