Add music to slideshow

I can't seem to be able to see my itunes library when trying to add music to a slideshow.  I have tried the help topics but neither method seems to work (e.g. To add music to a slideshow; If you don't see your itunes library in the source popup menu).  Has anyone else encountered this and found a solution?
Thanks
Lorna

Can you see the iTunes Library from other apps - like iMovie for instance?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
You can't add music in iPhoto to create a slideshow for the Apple TV. You can only add music from the Apple TV itself.

  • Lightroom 5.7.1 will not allow me to add music to slideshow. It errors and quits everytime. Just began happening. Any suggestions for resolving?

I've been using Lightroom for many years. My machine is an iMac, plenty fast and lots of RAM. I went to change the song that was already in Lightroom for a slideshow and once I selected the song, Lightroom quits and an error comes up. Do I need to remove and reload lightroom? Anyone else had this problem?

Hey! I had the same problem you did just today when I was trying to get my second iPhone to sync. What you need to do with music or anything extra that you doing you have to creat a second playlist or picture or anything that you would like to use, so that you can add to the second device that you are going to be using. I am not sure if that will help but it helped me out a lot!! Good luck!

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether your problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click  Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • I have a MacBook Air and recently downloaded the new operating system. Since that time, I am no longer able to access my personal ITunes library to add music to IPhoto slideshows.  I put I tunes library on my desktop, as suggested. How do I drag it?

I have a MacBook Air and recently downloaded the new operating system, 10.10 OSX Yosemite. Since that time, I am no longer able to access my personal ITunes library to add music to IPhoto slideshows.  I put I tunes library on my desktop, as suggested. How do I drag it to the I Photo slideshow?

That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots  and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

  • I have a Macbook Pro running Yostemite.  Lightroom 5.7.  Whenever I try to add music in the slideshow mode, lightroom shuts down.

Please help!!  I have a Macbook Pro, running Yosemite. Lightroom 5.7
Whenever I try to add music to a slideshow, it shuts down the program.

Try resetting your SMC and NVRAM before attempting to install again.
    Resetting the NVRAM/PRAM
Note: This will not delete any data.
The NVRAM/PRAM stores information such as speaker volume, screen resolution, startup disk selection, and recent kernel panic information (if any). You should reset the NVRAM/PRAM if you experience issues relating to these functions.
Shut down the computer by going to Apple () > Shut Down…
Select Shut Down or allow the computer to shut down automatically.
Turn on the computer by pressing the Power Button.
On the built-in keyboard, press and hold the Command (⌘), Option (⌥), P, and R keys before the gray screen appears.
Continue to hold down the keys until the computer restarts and you hear the startup chime for the second time.
Release the keys on the built-in keyboard.
Resetting the SMC of an Intel-based portable Mac with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: This will not delete any data.
The SMC is responsible for controlling various system functions. None of your data will be deleted by resetting the SMC.
Shut down the computer by going to Apple () > Shut Down…
Select Shut Down or allow the computer to shut down automatically.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter into a power source and then connect it to your Mac if you have not already done so.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift (⇧), Control (⌃), and Option (⌥) keys and the Power Button at the same time.
Release the (left side) Shift (⇧), Control (⌃), and Option (⌥) keys and the Power Button at the same time.
    I hope I helped.

  • Why does LR crash every time I choose music to add to the slideshow? How can I fix it?

I have LR 5. I just put a slideshow together, but when I go to add music, LR crashes. What is wrong? How can I get the music added to the slideshow?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
    Step 1
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Post the messages from the time of the last crash, if any — the text, please, not a screenshot.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.
    Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

How do I add music from itunes to my slideshow in premiere?

What have you tried, and do you receive an error message?
In general, itunes has DRM (copy protection) so it will only work according to the license... and as far as I know, Apple's license does not allow use in a new product, only in the Apple player... new product being the video you want to create

  • PSE 8.0 Slideshow crashes when I attempt to add music

I'm running windows 7, PSE 8 works fine right up until you add music then it crashes everytime. Any ideas? Conflict with other programs?

I have a similar problem. I've just got PSE 8 to go with my new Win7 machine and all goes well except the slide show function. I already owned PSE 6 and now both versions crash (when loaded separately) when I launch slide show. My workaround is to open a previous slide show (created under XP) and edit that. However the slide show is still unstable and crashes regularly, especially when I add music (both my own files and those that came with PSE8). Even when I can add music I can't hear it in the slide show preview function. I know it's there because I can see it in the audio bar and hear it in the properties section. However, when I try to preview a slide show, there is no sound (at this point it regularly crashes). I've attempted to apply some suggestions from the Adobe knowledegbase but there is obviously an incompatibility somewhere (and my bet is with WIn7), I've tried to report it to Adobe but because I mentioned both PSE 8 and PSE 6 (which they no longer support) they don't seem interested.

  • I am losing music with slideshows in iPhoto.

After a recent automatic update (I think to the operating system), the iPhoto program began losing all music associated with slideshows, seemingly whenever the power was completely shut down.  I am using iPhoto 11, version 9.4.3.  After the power has been shut down, the music files previously associated with the slide shows are no longer associated.  I can see my iTunes library in the iPhoto program, but it will not let me add music, and gives me an error message something to the effect of, "...cannot be added because the original file cannot be located."  If I go into iTunes and create a new playlist, I can then again add music to the slide shows.
I did not have this problem prior to the recent updates.  Is there a way to maintain the link between the iPhoto slide show and the music even if the power is shut down?  It seemed to be able to do this prior to the recent updates.
Is there a way to save the entire slideshow to a file or DVD, so I can simply play it from a DVD or re-load it?
This seems to be an issue with the recent updates required by Apple.
    Thanks.

    1. As a former and current PC user, I have had several problems because I failed to update PC programs as recommended (security patches in Adobe Flash Player, etc.).  I assumed Apple was the same way; the programs would generally work better and be more secure if I installed the recommended updates that periodically arrived from Apple.  Perhaps I am mistaken and you could offer some better suggestions.
    2. I am using iPhoto '11, version 9.4.3.  It may not be the version I was using when I initially encountered the problem a few days ago.  When it happened, I checked the Ap store for recommended updates, and there was one for iPhoto, so I updated to see if that would fix the problem.  It does not seem to have fixed it.  I purchased this iMac as my first Apple system nearly two years ago, and have been using the software that came installed on it, altered only (as far as I know) by the recommended updates.  I generally really like it.  I am using Mac OS X version 10.7.5.  I don't know how to check to see if the iPhoto version is compatible with the OS X version
    3. The exact error message is, "The song "____" could not be used because the original file could not be located."
I have some slide shows on the iMac that we put to music out of iTunes and play on the iMac.  As long as the computer is put to sleep, and not shut down, the link to the music remains.  If the computer gets shut down, the iPhoto loses the link to music files.  When I open iPhoto, the slide show is there, but the music does not play with the photos.  When I open the music settings, I can open and see my iTunes library, but when I drag songs into the field for the slide show, it will not allow the songs to remain in the field.  I then double click again on the song I just tried to add to the slide show, and the error message above appears.
I went to the support page, and it suggested that I close iPhoto, go into iTunes, copy the iTunes Music Library.xml file to the desktop, go back into iTunes, create a new playlist, then open iPhoto and try again.  Going through this process seems to allow me to again add iTunes songs to the slideshow.  I just lose everything again whenever the power shuts down.  I thought saving the slideshow onto a DVD might work, but I have not figured out how to do that yet.  Is that a reasonable solution?  I could potentially save them to a DVD, flash drive, or the back-up Airport disk.  It appeared in the support community that people had difficulty with saving the format when the slideshow was saved directly from iPhoto, but that it worked better when first transferred to the video program (iMovie?).  I have never used the video program and don't know if I even have it.  I welcome any suggestions you may have.
    4. I have not noticed any other strange things with iPhoto.
    Thanks for your help,
    B

  • Iphoto 6 will no longer put music into slideshows using Leopard

    Hi Folks,
I've made numerous slideshows including garage band music whilst in Tiger 10.4.10. Now that I have switched to Leopard I tried making another slide show today, and when I go to add music to it, none of the folders displayed where music should be will open. I can see the folders such as sample music for garage band, library for Itunes, but none of them will open for me to select a track.
    Can anyone help with this?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
