Add new characteristics in OFP8

Hi all gurus,
I would like to have the shipping condiction VSBED in the list of permitted characteristics to create a new search key for Automatic Packaging.
So far, I know it is related to structure KOMGP.
Does someone know if it is permitted and how to do it ?

Dear all ,
We need to create 2 new characteristics and add it to our Release strategies in production systems.
we have more or less 2500 opened POs.
Can I add directly in the Production system ?
Does anyone knows the impacts on the system if we do that directly in the PRD ?
Someone have a list of things to do prior this change and a list to do after this change ?

Hi,
Try the same in Quality server and check for few POs.
If a new characteristic is added to a CLASS eg. in ur case Pur group is added as a new characteristic to CLASS then Release strategy tab gets triggered only to those POs for which all conditions are met.
In ur case if olds POs purchasing group is different from the one mentioned in the values of Pur Group characteristic then u will not be able to release POs once u go to change mode to old POs since release strategy tab itself disappears.

Report painter:- How to add new characteristics.

We are creating the new report through report painter by copy from report : 1aip-001 ,
We require additional Characteristics i.e. not available in the available characteristics, So
how we can add the require new characteristics.

Cannot add a new characteristics from the system catalog

Hi,
I am trying to pull and add a new characteristics from the existing characteristics catalog. However when i save and activate the new char, the system throwing a yellow warning message as "Field KMKDGR has the same name as field KDGRP". When i proceed to save it since its just a warning message the system says all fields are saved. However when i quit and come to the characteristics list of the op concern, i notice the new characteristic is not added into the list of characteristics. Why is it so?
Is it because of the warning message?

The warning message can be ignored...
Once you save the char, you need to reactivate your data structure in KEA0... Ideally, when you save and press the back button, system itself gives a pop up message to reactivate the data structure...
1. Push the char from right to left
2. There will be a "match-stick" icon at the top left of the screen.. Click it
3. Then press back button
4. Whether with our without pop up message, activate your data structure in KEA0

Add new key figs or characteristics and "Repair full request"

Hi Gurus, here are my questions
1.If I add new key figs or characteristics(which are not Key fields) to ODS and Cube containing tons of data, Will the transport for structure changes fail due to presence of data?
2.The extractor to the ODS which inturn is feeding the cube, is delta enabled. So the newly added objects wont have entries for historical records. If I change this extractor to "Repair full request" after adding the new fields, will the new fields then get populated?
3. After the "Repair Full Request" activity, Can I change the Infopackage setting back to delta update mode?

Hello Simmi,
1. Transport should go fine. As you are not changing the key fields, it should not cause any problem even if data is present.
2. Yes. But make sure what data you want to laod. As with full repair, system is not going to check for duplicate data. The responsibility lies with you.
3. Sure. if you mark the full load as repair, the delta settings will be unaffected.

Add new key figure with characteristics in report painter

Hi expert,
I am create a new report painter in GRR2 under report group 8A2 (EC-PCA: Standard Reports) and i would like to create a report show on G/L amount with segment.
When i click on first column to assign "key figure with characteristics" i am not able to find characteristics "segment".
Please kindly advice how to create in new characteristics in report painter?

Hi,
"segment" is not a characteristic of classical profit-center accounting (libraries 8A*). Its a New GL characteristic, thus create a report painter report for New GL library.

Add new field to HR PCR forms

Hi All,
We are trying to enhance adobe form for scenario SRQ1.
We want to add some new fields to tha form.
For that we have copied the existing standard form to zform.
We have implemented the zinterface too.
To add new field on form we created as an import parameter in form interface.
We added to context of adobe form and on layout.
But we are not getting that field in 'special_data' table in BADI implementation of SRQ1.
Please let me know how and where we should write a code to add new field in 'special_data' table.

But now we are facing problem in adding data to additional_data table.
Can you tell us something about it.
Actually in set_additional_values method of BADI we are adding data to additional_data table but on form it is not reflecting.
Please advice.

Adding new characteristics to cube with data

Hi Gurus,
i need to add some characteristics to a cube already in production, this cube is customized version of material stocks/movements cube (0ic_c03).
i am looking for a way to add the new characteristics without having to do reinitialisation (opening stock,...), i am thinking about a loopback process but how do i manage to get the new characteristics populated for the historical data?

Hi,
If you want to load historial data, you must take ECC down time and re-intialization is required.Becasue you are adding new object in Cube and for that you need to change the Update rules, then need to load historical data, so without down time and reinitialization it is not possible.
Check like below.
You have data in PSA, so try to delete data from Cube and then load from PSA. Because you may write code in Update rules on;y I think. So in that case, it may work.

How to add new fields in report painter without library

Hi,.
I have to add new fields in report painter(std one) which is not in any library and so I am not able to add the fields in characteristics. Though I have added zfields in CCR1S but I am not able to add these fileds in characteristics in report painter(say - CJe3 t-code)
How to procedd for this.

hi,
first i copied the report 12KST1G in my Y12KST1G with form. In CJE2 when i Click this report then in the whatever fields coming in the characteristics we can put it in 'variables' tab and these will be the fields which is displayed on the selecton screen. So after doing the wbove changes in the exit , I am not able to get the fields in characteristics vale so that I can put it in variable. or do we have to do some chnages in the screen for this z report which is like std. one.
FYI..The display of the fields was done in z-report with library but this is like a report without library and we did some chnages in the exit.

Add new nodes to IDoc in IDoc-XML Schema Mapping with Java

Hello everyone, I'm not very sure if this is the right forum but I have a problem and I haven't being able to find the answer, my scenario is as follows:
-First of all our system characteristics: SAP ECC 6.0, SAP BASIS 700, PI BASIS 2005-1-700 and SAP APPL 600
-We are in Mexico and we are creating our own billing documents with digital signature and a digital certificate in XML format according to SAP Note 1303712 and all derived notes.
-Our actual schema is working fine: We generate our IDocs (one for SD and one for FI) in SAP and we send them to PI XI to be parsed by a JAVA program and then converted to XML.
Now we have the requirement to add new nodes (I might be wrong in the term, feel free to correct me) to the IDoc, it sounds very simple but I have only experience with ABAP and no experience with PI, also it's working only on our production landscape, so if I don't do it right it could be very dangerous.
I have already read the following notes that might help me: 1321680 and 1318342 but their configuration is just in the aplication server and don't mention anything about PI or the Java program.
So, if any one could provide me some kind of guide or important aspects that I should take care (like mapping, structures, etc) to enhance IDocs for this schema i would be very grateful.
I hope this post were clear enough, if it is not also feel free to ask me to clarify or provide more information.

Hi Omar,
Since the structure of the IDoc is changing (adding a new node), you would need to do the following in PI:
1) Reimport the IDoc in ESR/IR of PI.
2) Change the mapping/transformation logic in the mapping parser defined. If it is a Java code, you would need to reimport it in the ESR/IR. Use link below to understand more on jave mapping.

3) Delete the IDoc cache using transaction IDX2, after the IDoc is reimported.

How to add new columns in materialized view

We are using Oracle 10g Release2.
We need to add new columns to a prebuilt fast refresh materialized view. We want to add 4 new columns in this table and make them part of select statement in the materialized view. We can drop the view but we cannot do complete refresh after that because the paymentsInfo table has a creation_timestamp column which is populated by before row insert trigger with systimestamp. If we did the complete refresh, all values in this column shall be changed.

There is no way to add new Columns to Materialized view. To add new columns, it has to be dropped and re-built again.
Extract from Oracle Documentaion:
Use the ALTER MATERIALIZED VIEW statement to modify an existing materialized view in one or more of the following ways:
To change its storage characteristics
To change its refresh method, mode, or time
To alter its structure so that it is a different type of materialized view
To enable or disable query rewrite
If you have a problem of Complete refresh, then It may be beneficial to get the backup of the MView; Drop and re-create it with modified definition; Restore the backup data leaving the new columns untouched (assuming they are to be kept as fetched from the Master site).

For columns select 'key figure with characteristics' . There   give Key figure - balance c/f' and select the characteristic from the   left side list.
Then for rows select ' characteristic'    and   again select from left hand side list.
You define the total where required.   Save this form .
You can also   create report in GRR1 using the form created.

Hello Manish,
Based on your data input requirements, first create a characteristics in t-code ct04. Create a class (in t-code cl01) and assign the characteristics to the class. For characteristics, define "Values" by clicking on button "Other value check" and selecting "check values with function module". Input FM as "C14K_PHRASECHARACT_CHECK_F4".
Now, create phrases (t-code cg12) for the actual values which you wish to have as F4 values on your IHS screen for the custom fields. Then create phrase set (t-code :cg1b) and assign the phrases to the phrase set.
Go to spro>EHS>IHS>Basic settings>Assign value assignment types to classes..........define here the name of the tab under which custom fiellds should come. Assign the above created class here.
Now, go for master data match-up (t-code cgcz) , select first three checkboxes and execute.
Go to cgab now, and you should be able to see the value assigment type created in spro in IHS section . Double click it, and assign the phrase set against the created characteristics.

i am using REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE to populate fieldcat. the Internal table used is TB_FINAL with 20 fields.
in additon ,i have to add new fields to the Fieldcat based on a custom table . if the custom table is having 3 entries , i need to add 3 new fields to the Fieldcat.
and i need to Populate those new fields with data from CABN ( Characteristics table)
how to do this?
