Add new font in smartform - SE73

Hi All.
We want to use VERDANA font for our smartform. It is not available by default.
Can we upload it and use it? Our basis team says it has license issue. Is that true?
If no, how can we go about doing it?

Hi,
You can of course upload a new font, and as I'm aware there's no licence impact.

Creating the Standard Text:
Go to SO10
1. Enter Text Name. For example, ZABC
2. Text ID ST
3. Language EN
Click on Create.
And enter the Required Information and save.
To include a Standard text in SmartForm.
Follow the steps below:
1. Create a text node in the window.
2. Under general attributes select "Include text" as Type.
3. Specify the fields under Text.
Text Name ZABC
Text Object TEXT
Text ID ST
Language EN.

Typical issue with Font Book.
Restart your Mac and immediately hold down the Shift key when you hear the startup chime to boot into Safe Mode. Keep holding the Shift key until you see a progress bar towards the bottom of the screen. You can let go of the Shift key at that point.
OS X asks you to log in (you will get this screen on a Safe Mode boot even if your Mac is set to automatically log in). Let the Mac finish booting to the desktop and then restart normally. This will clear Font Book's database and the cache files of the user account you logged into in Safe Mode.

Here's how to add new font on your BlackBerry:
Plug your BlackBerry in your Desktop and copy the font in your SD card / Device
On your BlackBerry, go to your Media, BB Menu > Explore > BB Menu > Show Hidden.
Now, on your BlackBerry, copy the font where you saved it and paste to this location: device/appdata/rim/fonts/
Now, paste it and perform hard reset by pulling your battery while your BlackBerry is ON and reinsert again.
And its done.

For SE73, on screen
There is a button 'True Type-Font Importian'.
On pressing this button you will go to next screen.
Give unique name of font and .ttf file of your computer.
If you select Bold or Italic, select different font file respectivly.
and Execute.
Fonts are centralized for SAP.
if you are not authorized to do cross-client activity, it will not allow you.
Usually Basis Team does this for developers.

Add new font to PO Output for Communication Report

I'm trying to add a new font (Edwardian Script ITC) to the PO Output Communication report. I have added the font file through XML Publisher Administrator, and I have an RTF template report and a test XSL-FO report both correctly displaying the font. The PO Output for Communication report is not displaying the font and I believe it has something to do with the fact that it is a java concurrent program.
Any ideas on what additional steps need to be done to get this font to show up on the PO Output for Communication? Has anyone been successful in adding a different font to this report?

My RTF template is showing the font, and my test XSL-FO template is showing the font. The PO Output for Communication XSL-FO template is NOT showing the font.
I even tested by replacing the PO Output for Communication template file with my test template file. When I do that the font not applied in the PO Output for Communication report, even though it was applied using the same template in a test report.

Actually, before using Font Book as suggested, you should set its preferences accordingly. This lets you specify whether you want fonts installed by default in your Home > Library > Fonts folder (User Collection) or the Macintosh HD > Library > Fonts folder (Computer Collection). This is important.
Fonts installed in the User collection are only available to your account. Fonts installed in the Computer collection are available to all user accounts on your Mac.
You can then use Font Book to preview a font you've downloaded and decide if you want to install it. Double clicking an uninstalled font presents you with a Preview. If you click Install, Font Book will then install it according to the settings you made in its preferences.
You can also use Font Book to validate new fonts before you install them. In Font Book, select File > Validate File..., then use the resulting navigation dialog to select the fonts you are thinking about installing. This prevents problems that might be caused by installing a corrupted or incompatible font. If you simply add the font to your Home > Library > Fonts folder as suggested earlier without first validating it, you could install a corrupted or incompatible font. Better to know the fonts are good first.

I can't seem to add any new fonts to Pages 5.1. Is it possible?

It isn't Pages that opens files it is OSX.
In Finder double click any fonts you want and they are added to your OSX Font Library, then they are available in Pages.

Just restart flash application, you should be able to see the font.
