Add new Oracle VM 3.0.2 server & network, SAN configuration

Hi,
I'm installing an Oracle VM 3.0.2 cluster with 4 Oracle VM servers.
The cluster has been installed with 2 servers, the network has been configured (3 VM Network and 1 admin network).
The storage has been configured, some VM has been created.
And live migration has been realized.
Perfect
When i'm connecting on the server, I can see the network configuration on linux (bridge, vlan, etc...), storage (pool and repository,)
Now, i have two other servers and i'm installing one with Oracle VM Server 3.0.2.
The installation is OK, i discovered the server in oracle VM Manager without problem.
When I'm adding the servers in the pool, the operation is successfull, and now I have a pool with 4 servers.
In Oracle VM Manager, i can see these new servers in Network, VLAN Groups tabs, Storage Arrays.
But, on the server, the network configuration is not configured, I don't have the configuration like other server.
No bridge, no new vlan.
And the ocfs2 repository filesystem is not mounted.
And I don't know why
Do you have any idea ?

We fixed a bug in 3.0.3 where the networks are not created on the new server correctly. 3.0.3 is busy being uploaded to the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud, so it should be available in a few days. In 3.0.3 we automatically configure the network on-the-fly as guests that require each network component are started.I have upgrade to 3.0.3 :
- the Oracle VM Manager
- these 2 servers already in the pool
- and the new server
I add it in the pool, and the network are not configured.
I make an new install from scratch of the new server, and same problem.
I create a new VLAN segment in the pool, and this segment is configured on all servers, including the new one.
I copied the network configuration from a active server on the new server
I rediscover the server
Ok, the 3.0.3 seem to be available on Oracle Delivery, i will download it as soon as possible.
The repository needs to be presented to the new server that's joined the pool. Can you explain me ?I find the present/unpresent repository on the repository tab, it's ok now.
Now I can migrate a VM to the new server, all works fine.
I'm waiting the last server to be available (san connection problem).
I will see if the problem is the same.
Best regards

  • How to install a new oracle 9i  in the same server where a 8i is installed

Hello and sorry for been an inexperience dba.
Now I need to install 9i oracle version in the same server (solaris os-5.9) where is previously installed a 8i. I'm reading the installation guide and I know that I have to make two different oracle home, and then two different owners .
My problem is when I've seen the kernel parameters and their permissions and of course all of them have the owner the old oracle user.
Do you know if I have to change some of this parameters?
How to do that, and where can I find some guide to follow ?
    thanks in advance

and then two different owners .Not necessarily, you can use the same OS user, of course on a different Oracle Home.
where can I find some guide to follow ?http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/html/A96167_01/pre.htm#sthref106

  • Automatically add new SQL data sources on secondary server

Hi there.. I have found an issue that I cannot resolve.
We have two DPM servers set up to be secondary servers for each other.. it has worked well for months and I was very happy with the setup.
What I had not realized was if a new SQL database was created and was picked up by the local DPM server, the secondary server did not pick up the new data source.
Is there a way to get a secondary server to refresh the list of data sources it should be backing up without having to manually updating the Protection Group once a week.
    Many thanks
    Chris
    Chris

    Hi,
Have you attempted the following? From the secondary DPM Server modify the protection group in question.
From the select group members step expand the needed SQL server.
Select the SQL instance (ensure the check box is checked off next to the SQL instance) then right click.
Now click on Turn on auto protection (Figure 1) to enable.

Figure 2:After SQL auto protection is enabled.
    Also the below may assist.

  • Creating New Oracle Database on Windows 2000 server

These are the steps I am going to take. Are these correct?
1.) Set the Environment Variable. Do you need to use Oradim or is "SET ORACLE_SID=EGWASDEV" OK?
2.) Create a INIT.ORA file placed in a separate directory from EGOVDB.
3.) Create DATABASE Script. (See Attached)
4.) Create Tablespace Script. (See Attached)
    5.) svrmgr1
    6.) Connect Internal
    7.) startup nomount pfile="E:\oracle\admin\egwasdev\pfile\initegwasdb.ora"
    8.) Run CREATE DATABASE Script
    9.) Connect Internal
    10.) Run Tablespace script
    11.) Run E:\oracle\ora81\Rdbms\admin\catalog.sql
    12.) Run E:\oracle\ora81\Rdbms\admin\catproc.sql
    13.) Change Password for SYS
    14.) Change Password for System.
    15.) Modify Listener
    16.) Modify Tnsnames
    17.) Setup Dbstart (to automate)

When I connect internal I get a TNS:protocol adapter error. If I reference the SID of the existing database then I will be logged into that database. I thought I shouldn't be connected to any database in order to.....
    startup nomount pfile="E:\oracle\admin\egwasdev\pfile\initegwasdb.ora"

  • Add new Alerts to system monitoring

    Hi,
My Name is Tomas Piqueres and I'm working with Solution Manager. I'm monitoring one of my systems and I'm setting up some alerts.
The problem is when I'm trying to add some alerts that are outside the last node (the corresponding with the server name).
For example, I want to activate an alert to see the free disk space in database, at satellite system I select the alert and set properties. Here I found the full name of the properties:
    <SID>\Microsoft SQL Server\Space management\DB:PRO\N:/MSSQL/PRODATA1/PRODATA1.mdf\PRODATA1 Free Disk Space
With the full path, I go to my Solution Manager> transaction DSWP>Select my solution>Operation setup>Setup System Monitoring
Here I only can add new User Defined Alerts for my server and my SAP System. If I select User Defined Alerts for my database I get the error No properties can be maintained for the selected node (MTE).
If I try to add an alert for the server, the path for all of the alerts possible is <SID>\<server name>\.....
So I can't add the alert I've got from satellite system.
Is there any way to add more alerts?
    Please, could you help me?
    Thanks and regards,
    Tomas.

  • Add new printer driver

    Hi,
We need to add new printer driver in SAP application server , how to add new driver?
Actually we have some graphics and fonts which is not supporing SAPWIN .we have different printers ,these printers I could not see in SPAD .
I foung many notes which did not help me . Can you please suggest step by step how to add new driver.
Please dont suggest help.sap.com , It will not help me .
    - Lisa

First, you need to download the sap driver of your printer model from the manufacturers websites, usually the file has an extension *.pri this is different from windows drivers. Next, save the file to a any directory (e.g. c:\temp) then logon to your System. In TCODE spad > goto Utilities > For Device types > select Import. A window will be opened > tick Device Type >
Object name: type the exact filename of your downloaded file (xxx.pri) to be imported
    Mode: IMPORT
    F8/Execute
Select the Local Object button and browse to the location of downloaded file and select open, this will start the import process. When import process is complete a pop message will be shown "Object successfully imported"
Note: For alternative drivers try to use ZSAPWIN.
    Hope this helps.

  • Need help setting up DB Link from my Oracle 11g XE to SQL Server.

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a DB Link from my Oracle 11g Express Edition in a Windows XP machine to an SQL Server. Here are the steps I've done so far.
    1. Created and setup an ODBC Connection for the SQL Server DB. Named it SQLSERVER. Windows Authenticated.
    2. Modified listener.ora. See below.

  • Oracle XE connection to SQL Server 2000

    Hello everybody,
I need to make a connection to a table in SQL Server 2000. I am using Oracle XE with Apex 3.0.1.
SQL and XE are on the same server(windows server 2003).
I need to make an application that uses some data of the SQL Server and for the rest it uses data from Oracle XE.
How can I make this connection to SQL Server from Oracle XE? Some suggestion where I should start, would be great.
It would be great if the Apex developers would not notice that the data is retrieved from SQL Server, is this possible?
For 10g there is a gateway for this I believe, but not for XE.
    Thank you for your time!

Thanks, after searching some information about Heterogeneous Services.
I came accross this site http://www.databasejournal.com/features/oracle/article.php/10893_3442661_1

  • I have working Netgear network. Want to add new Time Capsule and run 2nd network for new apple TV and Imac, and keep the netgear network for my PC and Canon printer.

I have working Netgear N600 dual band router network. The existing network has an XP netbook PC, canon printer, 2 Iphones, Epson Air printer, an Ipad, 3 roku boxes, backup drive. Just bought a new Apple TV box, and time capsule 2T.  I have an IMac on order but don't have it here yet.
My goal is to add new Time Capsule and create 2nd "apple" network for new apple TV, Iphones, Ipad, Epson Air printer and new Imac, and keep the netgear network for my PC, Roku TV boxes, and Canon printer and backup drive.
The Netgear router, the time capsule and new IMac will be on the same desktop, I dont need to backup my netbook PC to time capsule.
    Where do I start?
Which device connects to my modem first, the TC2 or the Netgear?
Is it best wait for the Imac before starting or can the TC2 be set up from my Ipad or PC?
    Thanks.

    It is pretty simple..
Setup the TC in bridge and plug it into the Netgear.. I would leave the netgear as the main router for now, although in the future you can swap things around. The netgear firmware may have issues with bonjour and airplay/airprint?? Does your ipad print ok now?
You can setup the TC using Mac, PC (at least up to win7) or iOS.. they all have airport utility available.
Bridge mode is set differently depending on the version of the utility. This is v5 and how the windows one will look (at least similar to).
    v6 will be as
With the TC in bridge you will still create a wireless network.. and give it a different name from the netgear.. then all the apple devices can connect to it. Use ethernet rather than wireless if the imac is on the desktop with it. Much faster and better for using Time Machine backups.
If you run into any issues.. just post the particular issue. It will take a bit of getting used to, but isn't hard.

  • Can not add new server

    Hi,
I install Oracle Workshop for WebLogic 10.3 on Windows Vista and I create new remote server without problem but I can not see server state.
So I delete server and try add new one. Unfortunately when new server popup window is open and I click next (to Specify a WebLogic domain directory/Specify a remote host name) I can not type connection data because all fields but Re-enter password are disabled for remote server type.
Next I try reinstall Oracle Workshop and this takes no effect.
    Thanks for answer.
    Peter

In new installation BEA2 I create new domain and start it. After configuring WebLogic Runtime Oracle WebLogic Server connection start to live.
Same procedure with old installation doesn't work.
