  • Add new printer driver

    Hi,
We need to add new printer driver in SAP application server , how to add new driver?
Actually we have some graphics and fonts which is not supporing SAPWIN .we have different printers ,these printers I could not see in SPAD .
I foung many notes which did not help me . Can you please suggest step by step how to add new driver.
Please dont suggest help.sap.com , It will not help me .
    - Lisa

First, you need to download the sap driver of your printer model from the manufacturers websites, usually the file has an extension *.pri this is different from windows drivers. Next, save the file to a any directory (e.g. c:\temp) then logon to your System. In TCODE spad > goto Utilities > For Device types > select Import. A window will be opened > tick Device Type >
Object name: type the exact filename of your downloaded file (xxx.pri) to be imported
    Mode: IMPORT
    F8/Execute
Select the Local Object button and browse to the location of downloaded file and select open, this will start the import process. When import process is complete a pop message will be shown "Object successfully imported"
Note: For alternative drivers try to use ZSAPWIN.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can not add new printer on CUPS

    Hi,
I'm trying to add a new printer using CUPS web interface. After I enter my username and password, it then says "Access Forbidden." My user is in the printer group which is allowed to have access to administration privileges per the following line
    SystemGroup printer
in the cupsd.conf file. When I tried to log in as root, it does not give me access either but comes back with the login window again.
    Thanks for your help.

From the wiki page on CUPS: "When prompted for a username and password, log in as root"

  • "Add New Printer" can't finish setup...grayed out

Can anyone please help me with this?
I have a Brother MFC-290c multifunction USB'ed into my Extreme Gigabit. It shows up there in Airport Utility.
Upon printer setup in the Preferences Pane I click the + symbol to add a new printer. The Brother shows up at that point and where it is connected but the "Add" button is grayed out as though I need to select a driver as well yet there is no driver suitable in the drop down list. Do I need to install my Brother driver onto my Powerbook before this will work?
The setup guide makes no mention of this in the section on adding a printer.

Congratulations, you have just entered the crappy side of Apple, Leopard. I have the same problem with my HP 5510 attached to my Extreme 802.11n. It works great form my little powerbook running Tiger (the best OS I have ever used), but me and my wife just bought new Macs and of course both have leopard and neither will print. We have the same no river in list issue. I have spent countless hours trying to fix personally and with both Apple and HP. Both sugest that I spent even more money to purchase a new Printer that will work. Yeah so it will no longer work when Sow leopard comes out... Thanks Apple/HP...
Sorry, to here about the bad luck... I'd like to suggest doing a Google on Cups and Gutenprint although I am not sure if anyone is supporting these anymore.

  • Can't add new printer to iMac G5

    Hi,
I've just purchased a new Epson Stylus CX7800. I installed the software, plugged in the USB cable and restarted the computer. When I try to add the printer in the Printer Setup Utility, it's listed but when I select it, the button to "add" it doesn't become active. Also listed is a thing called FlashPaper, which when highlighted, is able to be added. WHY CAN'T I ADD MY NEW PRINTER!!!! I'm so frustrated right now, please help!
    J

Take a deep breath & count to ten...............
If you have not already done so after the installation:
    Repair permssions & restart.
Go through the installation process per the instructions in the Epson manual, the Printer Setup Utility and/or double check to make sure you installed properly the first time around.
If the above still does not work and/or appears you have done everything correctly, then you will need to check out Epsons Support Site. You may need to update the drivers.
    Good Luck!

  • Can not add new printer

I reset my printer list on my mother's MacBook and tried to add a new printer. There are no printers to add in the Add Printer list. I ran Repair Disk Permissions and still I can not add any printers through the System Preferences>Print & Fax. Why are there no printers to select?

Try reinstalling the printer drivers (software) that came with the printer or go to the printer manufacture web site and download the drivers there.

  • Can't Add New Printer

In the Print & Fax section of my system preferences it used to show my USB printer. But then, for some reason, it disappeared. Now when I click the add printer button, I can see my printer under the default printers tab, however, when I click to add my printer it asks for a password of someone in the "lpadmin" group. My administrator password does not work for this.
If anyone has any ideas at all, they would be much appreciated.

  • How to add new printer

    Hi All,
We have a new printer assigned to the Columbia Shipping Department for SAP. The new printer is COLALJ051, however, when attempting to process shipping documentation in the GTS cockpit, the default printer under all our user names still executes to the old printer COLALJ003 and we have to manually chage each document which can be 60 or more documents per conttainer. Very time consuming.
    Thanks
    Sitanshu

    Hi Sitanshu,
Go to the Custom declaration document in change mode, then go to the communication tab. Here, under the output device column, U can see which printer is configured.
To change the printer, u click once on the output device then on the output parameters icon. This displays a screen where u can select the desired printer.
    Hope it helps.

  • Cannot add new printer, selection grayed out

I have been using a brother MFC-9420CN. I have been sharing this printer with a windows computer over a wireless network. It has worked flawlessly since I hooked it up. After the last 10.4.6 update for the OS the printer no longer works. I first noticed it when I selected print from a menu. The top selection said the printer name but there was a grayed question mark next to it. I opened the printer utility. The printer was there but would not work. So I removed it from the list and went to add it once again. When I clicked on add a new menu popped up. The menu searched for new drivers and then stopped. On the bottom of the menu is three selections. One for name, one for location and one for print using. They are all grayed out. Because there is no selection in the above menu for me to choose. I tried deleting all the brother print drivers in /library/printer/brother folder. Then I reinstalled. Same problem. I cannot selet a printer now. I also tried hooking it up diretly and nothing happened. I then tried the IP printer selection. At the bottom there is a print using selection. It shows the brother cups driver but when selected and then I choose to add it a message comes up that says "An error occured while trying to add the selected printer error code 50" The printer still works over the wirless connection on the windows computer. Thanks for any help...

I found a work around for this matter. Most of the time, I use spotlight to remove anything on the hard drive that has anything to do with "Brother Printers" Then I reload the CD that came with the printer and it works ok. Every now and again if I cancel the print job on the printer the computer will do this hiccup and say there is no printer. This is my work around.

  • Can't add new printer Dell 1350

I am trying to add a Dell 1350 laser printer to my list of printers.  When I try to add it, i am unable to find an appropriate file for "Print Using:" option.
If I choose Autoselect, is states that Software for this printr isn't available from Apple.
I downloaded the driver from Dell and installed it, but nothing shows in the Select Printer Software list in the Print Using drop-down.  I can't seem to find a file on my iMac that is appropriate either (e.g., Dell-specific or generic printer driver)

You make it a little difficult to help you because you haven't provided any information about your system. Going forward please complete your profile (Your Stuff (upper right) - Profile.) I'm going to guess you use OS X Snow Leopard or Lion, if so please see Printer and scanner software for Snow Leopard & Lion for a list of supported printers. If you cannot find your Dell then you can try Gutenberg's printer drivers and maybe you will be able to find one. You can find their site at:
    http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php
You can also check Dell's web site to see if they provide a driver. Because Dell is really a MS Windows company they don't invest much at all in supporting peripherals that users would like to use with OS X. To be honest I think the Gutenberg drivers are the best bet. If they can't help I'd replace the printer with one designed for OS X, they're are hundreds to choose from.

  • "Add New Printer" share from Windows...

I have a Canon i950 inkjet hooked up to my PC and noticed that there is the possibility of accessing it from my Powerbook by the Printer Setup utility. So I tried this today and it only managed to start up the printer.
Both machines are on a wireless LAN with a router and Airport Express configured between them. The printer is hooked directly to the PC via USB cable. (I do not wish to connect the printer to the Airport Express' port as I do not have a long enough cable.
So while setting this up, after choosing "Add Printer" and chose "Windows Printing" from the list, then "Network Neighborhood" from the list below that, I then navigate through the network to the actual printer which is displayed. I then select it to activate the printer model list beneath and choose Generic Printer Driver because my particular model is not listed.
But I see these are all mainly GIMP-Print drivers. I'd like to know if I can add my driver to this list or be able to cross-reference one of these drivers with my printer's driver.

I really appreciate your response but after visiting the links I've come to 2 realizations.
    1) My printer model is not indicated in the List of supported printers for GIMP (Gutenprint) driver and their implications are that if it's NOT your expected results may not be satisfactory. To me this sounds like a unnecessary waste of my time. I like things to just plain work when they're designed for a specific model.
2)I'm not about to fork out $60. for a printer driver from Printfab when the one I have works perfectly fine. My attempts at trying to run through Windows Printing were merely for convenience purpose only. The options to go directly through the USB cable or through the Airport Express are still clearly there.
So then, regarding your reply, am I to gather that what you are saying is Windows Printing will only work with network interfaced printers?

  • [Gnome 3] cant print from USB printer, Fail to add new printer

    HI all!
    I installed the following:
    cups
    libcups
    gutenprint
Then add your CUPS server's IP address or hostname into /etc/cups/client.conf, after ServerName. That is all you need. Every application should quickly find the printer(s) shared by that CUPS server.
did not understand what am i suppose to write in the client.conf: 127.0.0.1 or my hostname (thegrid)
it says that later version on cups does not require to blocklist the usblp but i did anyways
    but it didnt work
    i restarted the computer too
    any suggestion

Hi, you can install "system-config-printer" ( i think resolve your issue).
    sudo pacman -S system-config-printer.
I have a Cannon PIXMA 280. My steps to install the drivers( may be help you ) :
$ sudo pacman -S cups ghostscript gsfonts
    $ sudo pacman -S kdeutils-print-manager gutenprint */KDE.
    $ sudo pacman -S system-config-printer gutenprint */GNOME.
    $ sudo systemctl start cups.service
    $ sudo systemctl enable cups.service

  • System Preferences Freezes When Attempting to Add New Printer

Running into an issue on a Mac Pro here. It crashed earlier today, and when I try to go into Print & Fax in control panels, it says "Loading" and then just pin wheels. There were several documents waiting to print at the time of the crash, but I can't get into the print cue now due to this. Is there a preference that could be corrupted?
    Thanks!
    R~

Try /Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.PrintCenter.plist, move it to your desktop and restart.
