Add on page always opens when starting Firefox

Why does the add on page open up every time I launch Firefox? It does it only on my desktop computer, not my laptop and they both have the same version and options.

• Unwanted 2nd tab opens when start Firefox or go home on Firefox.

recently a second tab opens when I start Firefox or when I click on the Home tab. I uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox. The second tab is a photo of Anne Paquin. I have never clicked on a file of her photo. how do i get rid of the photo. it is annoying.

To set the '''Home page''' to your choice:
'''Tools > Options > General''' see if you have two web pages for your home key.
The easiest way to fix would be to bring up only the page that you want open as the only tab then
# '''When Firefox starts''': Show my home page
# '''Home page:''' (verify you have the correct page)
# click on "Use Current Pages" button

• Multiple tabs open when start firefox

it does NOT contain a pipe but still opens two tabs on start up

What pages load?
Are they blank tabs
If they are not blank you can open up new tab and
1) Type in a Blank Cleared URL '''about:config'''
2) Click the button saying '''I'll Be Careful'''
3) type in Blank Search Box at top '''Home'''
Or even type in the URL of the tabs opening to see if a Add-on is loading it
If it is a new blank tab in
1) Type in a Blank Cleared URL '''about:config'''
2) Click the button saying '''I'll Be Careful'''
3) type in Blank Search Box at top '''newtab'''
Do you use a add-on like '''Tab Mix Plus''' ?
1) open its option by going to '''Tools''' at the top of Firefox Menu bar
2) Select '''Tab Mix Plus Options'''
3) Then '''Events'''
4) The first Tab under Events is '''New Tabs'''
5) it will read "Load On New Tab" and have a drop down box
6) Select '''Home Page '''
7) At the bottom of the Tab Mix Plus Options select '''Apply''' then '''Ok'''

• Tabs not re-open when starting firefox

I have read that I have to reset firefox and use safe mode. Tried everything but the problem remains the same.
I still cannot have my tabs from my last visit when I reopen Firefox with my Mac.

A possible cause on Mac is to close all open windows before closing the Firefox application with the menu bar.
Make sure that you close the Firefox application via "Firefox > Quit" while you still have the window with the tabs open if you want to reopen the tabs automatically the next time.
You can also check "History > Recently Closed Windows".
* Use "Firefox > Quit Firefox" to close the Firefox application and the currently open tabs and windows if you want to reopen the current session the next time.
* Make sure that you use "Firefox > Quit Firefox" to close the window with the App Tabs and the Firefox application.
Otherwise the Firefox application is still running and you only closed a window.
*If you only close the window and not quit Firefox then use History > Recently Closed Windows.

• When starting, Firefox opens an extra tab that is about Firefox. I am tired of it already!

Firefox Start Page opens, along wiht my homepage, when I open a new window.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened

How many pages do you have set as your "homepage"?
Firefox allows for multiple homepages in separate tabs, separated by the pipe | symbol.
Try resetting your homepage.
You can use an extension to set which page to open in a new tab:
*NewTabURL : https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/newtaburl/
*My Homepage: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/my-homepage/

• LastPass password manager doesn't work with latest Firefox after downloading add-in, installing it and re-starting Firefox.

I'm using FireFox 20.0. I downloaded the add-in, installed it and re-started FireFox but LastPass doesn't show up in the add-ins nor does it fill in the login info on sites that I have in my LastPass vault.

What I've done is make LastPass my home site so when I launch FireFox, I log into LastPass and leave the LastPass vault page in an open tab. Then when I log into another site which requires a login and password which I've previously set up in LastPass, LastPass logs me into that site automatically. LastPass is a free password manager that works well in IE. Any time LastPass detects a login page, it enables you to set up the password and ID in its database and fills in the login info at future login prompts. My solution for FireFox is a bit clunky but when I need to use a second browser, it works.

I'm using a ThinkPad laptop and the passwordvault which was perfectly available in the older version of firefox don't open in tools any longer, when forced via lenovo thinkpad tool, it daoesn't launch the asked for site either.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
*https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
*Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

• Since the Version 20.0 update when starting firefox I have frequently got the error message "firefox is having trouble your windows and tabs" .

Since the version 20.0 update when starting firefox I have frequently got the error message "firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs" This has not occurred with previous versions. If I click on the box "restore" and close firefox the problem reoccurs if I click close I lose the bookmark sidebar. I am so sick and tired of these frequent and buggy updates (every one since 17.0 have caused norton 360 to stop detecting tracking cookies for several weeks and or broken the norton toolbar) that I will uninstall firefox and switch to another browser if this does not change.
