Add On Rollover to Regular Slideshow Widget

There is a Show Hero On Rollover option in the Composition "slideshow," but no option for this in the regular slideshow. I just had a fellow Muse friend ask how to do this. Sounds like a good option to me…

Captions in Lightbox Slideshow Widget

The metadata in my files have both a Title and a Caption, yet when i Add Images to the Lightbox Slideshow Widget, I am stuck with Lorem Ipsum on every photo. Do I have to add the Captions manually for every image?!

Can someone at Adobe please confirm that there is no reading of the image metadata. I thought it was limiting that it was only the caption field available. I am stunned if this is the case that no metadata is being read. I am working on a photo web site and got to the point of importing photos with the 'captions' checked. Huge surprise. It is hard to believe that something as fundamental as basic metadata fields (caption, title, filename, copyright) isn't pulled with the image and available as needed. C'mon, you are the company that has Photoshop and Lightroom. Do you guys talk to the other teams?
I was looking at Muse galleries as an alternative to the LR web module for 2 reasons: one is flexibility in layout, and the other is speed, since the LR gallery export cranks along at a glacial pace to the point of being almost unusable. And this is the LR4 upgrade; much slower than LR3. See the LR threads on this if you're interested. Still waiting for that fix.
The thought of manually entering caption info to a dozen galleries, each with 20 or 30 images, is nonsense. This makes Muse a non-starter for photo galleries. This is basic capability. Adobe should be embarrassed that LR4 doesn't do what it should in this regard, and that the feature needed don't even exist in Muse. Everyone expects a few bugs in the early days of a new software, but not missing essential, fundamental features to make web galleries useful.
Rant now over and I will happily apologize if the metada fields are, indeed, available. Please explain how. Thanks.

Transparent rollover state on slideshow?

I have a lightbox slideshow on my home page but I'd like add a link to that page when you hover over an image. And for this I'd like a transparent rollover state. The problem with adding an image as a rollover state at the moment for me is that it keeps showing up behind my thumbnail image. Is there a way to get the result that I have illustrated below? (B. - is the rollover state)

I figured it out. The slideshow widget frame was layered on top of the menu items, invisibly covering all but the left and right edges - that's why the very left menu item - Home, and very right one - Links, sort of worked, since just a bit of them were not covered by the slideshow frame. I moved it down about 8 pixels to be just below the menu items. Now they work fine! I probably could have arranged the frame backward to avoid moving it, but this works for me.

Adobe Muse slideshow widget not working on Ipad

The Muse slideshow widget i'm using is working fine in desktop version (on my Imac and Macbook Pro Retina), but the targets (buttons) are not working when i open the website in my Safari Ipad. When i open in Ipad Chrome, it's working fine.

To answer your first question, a widget is essentially a app extension. Try the stock market app below, once you download it you'll be able to add a stock market widget to Notification Center. If the link below doesn't work go to the App Store and enter Stocks Widget by Peeksoft in the search field.

Why animated gifs disappear in slideshow widget?

I opened my project with new version of Muse 2014 but animated gifs on the slideshow widget disappear. They are already visible in previous version of Muse. I made a new slideshow and add some animated gif but there is a blank page when i preview the page. Is there a bug or am i doing something wrong?

The exclamation mark is an indication that the file path/link between the thumbnail and the full size master has been broken. Do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

Add photos option missing in lightroom widget

I attached an image from an older tutorial out on YouTube regarding creating a Lightbox in Adobe's Muse.
We are running the latest Adobe Muse CC version and whether I try to create a lightbox, blank photo display or anything else for a photo gallery, I am NOT given an option to "Add Images" as in the example I placed below.
It's possible that Adobe did away with this but I am not sure why they would? Can someone please help me. Am I not selecting the correct window in order to get the "Options" window to appear when clicking on the blue/white arrow? What I get is a "Compisition Options" window no matter which container I select. And again, NOWHERE inside that window am I given an option to upload or add photos.

I believe you are using composition widgets not the Slideshow widgets.
They both are different and Slideshow widgets has the options to add images.
Please check the screenshot below showing the different locations to find them.

Thumbnail images of Thumbnail Slideshow Widget not releasing Tooltips

I'm running Muse v2.2 Build 6 CL 770942 and had mistakenly assigned a number of tooltips to a number of thumbnail images of a thumbnail slideshow widget. After deleting those tooltips via the contextual menu on selected thumbnails and the "edit image properties" item in that menu, and after re-publishing to my Creative Cloud-hosted non-live site, and after refreshing my page in Safari 6.0.1 (8536.26.14) running OS 10.8.2, the tooltips are still there. This seems to be a bug.

I cleared the cache to no avail.
I tried opening the page in Firefox 15.0.1, and the tooltips not only still appear when I rollover the thumbnails, but all thumbnails, menu links, and heroes are totally off the page to the right!!

Can i create a button that links to the slideshow widget

I am creating a portfolio site for a class. It is a one page site, One of my sections is going to be my "work" section. I want to categorize my work, So I have made buttons that pertain to each category of work. Is there anyway that I can link this to the slideshow widget. When one of the category buttons is clicked I want the slideshow widget to pop up. Is this possible? I can not find a tutorial and I am very new to Muse. Thank you!

You can't directly associate a button with a slideshow. However, you can embed slideshow in a tooptip target and add the button to the tooltip trigger as mentioned in this post : Re: How do i create a button which will show new content on same page?

Need help with slideshow widget appearing online

Hey out there a big thanks in advance for this.
I have slideshow widgets set up for my artwork and graphics pages on my website and they were working fine before the last Muse update. I then went into Muse to add more images to said slideshows and export and upload them just like normal. Everything went fine and then I finished uploading and viewed my site and the widgets did not appear...I also experienced some margin formatting difficulties but that is probably unrelated. I have not changed any permissions and have not changed anything besides adding in a few images only to one of the two slideshow widgets. I have completely deleted and re-exported and re-uploaded everything as in all of the files twice and still nothing. I really need some help with this one as soon as possible. Again a huge thank you. Sorry, should've been more clear on that. Yes, the images
have been converted to movie clips, adn the linkage ID's are
img1-img8. The reasoning behind that is that, at some point, new
pictures will take the place of the current pictures.
The attempt at randomness is actually a leftover from a
previous incarnation of this project. Ideally I'd like the pictures
to always play through in the same order, but I'd like it to start
at a random place in that order so it's not always the same image
coming up when the page first comes up. So, basically, I left it in
for lack of a better idea.
As for the setInterval() and runTimer() and "Void" question,
that part is complete patchwork on my part. I'm not surprised that
I missed something or included something extra. There isn't any
code beyond what's attached in my previous post.
I think, at the time, I was hoping that the "if(timePassed
> nTimeout){" part was on the right track, but are you saying
that the void cancels that part out?

Trouble inserting video inside slideshow widget

Hi there,
I am trying to add a youtube video inside the Lightbox widget. I have tried using the social widget/youbube and using the iFrame code from the youtube video and placing it inside the slideshow widget.
I followed an older tutorial online, but I can't seem to make this work using Muse CC.
What I want to do is create a small button, which in this case would be a small dot instead of the thumbnail, then once clicked a video would open.
If anyone can help me solve this I would be grateful.

1. Select the Basic Composition widget. (see attachment)
2. Make sure 'Hide All Initially' is checked (modify any other options like fill outline etc.)
3. Select the YouTube widget and slide it into the Basic Composition box. See attachment (box outline will highlight in blue to indicate the widget is inside)
4. Make sure 'Auto Play' is checked in the YouTube options.

Hello,
You can try the following:-
1) Add a composition widget.
2) Add text frames to the triggers to create first level of menu.
3) To the target of trigger in first level, add another composition widget.
4) The triggers of this new composition will be the next level of menu.
5) You need to set the 'Show target' value to 'On rollover'

Fullscreen Slideshow Widget Bugs

Overall I'm happy with the new Fullscreen Slideshow Widget but noticed a couple things
Touch does not work on Surface 2
Tested no an iPad and swipe works until you hit the last slide. You need to hit the arrow buttons or swipe back to the previous slides

For whatever reason, Microsoft with IE chose to implement a different API for touch than any other touch device. Today the output of Muse supports swipe on Android and iOS. I expect as Windows 8 devices gain marketshare we'll invest the engineering resources to add IE-specific code for swipe.
Tested no an iPad and swipe works until you hit the last slide. You need to hit the arrow buttons or swipe back to the previous slides
This basically mimicks the most common behavior of swipe on iOS devices. In the future we're likely to add functionality and user control to support a choice between having collections stop at the first/last item when swiping or having a continuous loop behavior.

November Update Erased Slideshow Widget

My site is PandV.org. On there I have 4 picture galleries each using a basic slideshow widget. They resided on a separate galleries page, but single-picture links to the galleries page are on the home page. The same for both my desktop and phone versions (I have no distinct tablet version).
When I upgraded to the November update, every one of these slideshow widgets simply vanished from the galleries page, on both my desktop and phone versions!
Even more odd, the pictures on the home page that linked to the galleries page had also vanished, on both desktop and phone versions!
So, I called up the version of the site in muse made before the November update. I went to the galleries page and copied and pasted the slideshow widgets to from the old desktop galleries page to the November update galleries page. The paste worked perfectly.
But there's more: now, the pictures and links on the home page re-appeared, in perfect place. And the same is true for the phone version.
The problem seems solved to me, but I thought you'd want to know of this decidedly odd behavior.

I'm not sure, but I think so, yet I really don't know how.
As per my description of the problem, when I pasted the slideshow widget from the working pre-november muse file to the November release file from which they had disappeared, it asked me if i wanted to unlock the relevant layers. I didn't understand why that question came up, since as far as I was aware all layers were visible and unlocked.
So, I told it to unlock what it needed to and the paste went ahead as normal.
Yet, aside from that, it is still a mystery to me how the one paste operation I described fixed the missing slideshow widgets on both layouts (desk and phone) gallery pages, and put back the images that linked to them on the home page.
I wish I could be of more help, but as I mentioned above, the non-working November update muse file doesn't exist anymore.
As always, thanks for your quick attention and commitment to make Muse a great product.
P.S.: I'm sure they were visible and working on the published site before the November update. It is the file file that uploaded that working site that I edited with the November update and noticed the problem. I check this site regularly and such an important part of it missing would have been noticed by me or my co-workers.

IFrame element from other website breaks Muse's basic slideshow widget

I'm not sure if this is a bug or what, but the minute I add this iframe element from a website that has a calendar on it, my site stops functioning and the slide show dissapears. I've tested this in different ways and it all seems related to the iframe. I'm not sure if this is just simply a z-index issue, or something bigger. Essentially, adding this iframe element makes the slideshow widget dissapear. Deleting the iframe element allows the slideshow to reappear and function properly.

Just preview in browser and you'll see it stops functioning, but if you delete the calendar iframe, the slideshow will function normally again.
So, is this a bug? Its a pain in my *** because this is the final element that I need for my website! Just getting this to work and I'm set! An incredible frustration that I'm stopped by such a simple thing like this.
Can anyone else confirm that what I'm experiencing is accurate?

Is there any way around the slideshow widget limitations

Unless I'm missing something, the only lightbox/slideshow widget that allows you to change the transition speed between images doesn't have an "Add Images" button, and also appears to force you to keep thumbnails. I don't like the quick fade look I'm getting. Is there a way to drill deeper into the options on this, or do I have to move on to Dreamweaver and do my own jquery coding to get the slideshow I'm after?

As far as slideshow is concerned, we have the option to control the transition speed in all the options (Basic, Blank, Lightbox and Thumbnails) out of which Basic and Balnk are the options which have Add image option and do not force you to use Thumbnails.
If you are specifically looking to use the Lightbox effect then I am afraid it does not allow you to get rid of the thumbnails. Reason being, we need a trigger for Lightbox effect to come up and these thumbnails are the triggers for it.
