Add-ons manager doesn't load
I am at wits end... I have tried every solution to get the add-ons manager to load and nothing has worked. If you might know of a solution please let me know. I am running Firefox 11, Windows 7 and I have checked for and updated a plug-in. I even clicked on "extensions" and waited a few moments as suggested and then clicked on "Get Add-ons" and it still just says it is loading.

Firefox 6.0.2. Loaded something called "Productivity 3.1 Community Toolbar", version 3.7.0.6, "Toolbar powered by Conduit". Simply want to go to the Add-ons Manager and get rid of it, but don't seem to be able to reach the Add-ons Manager. Is there some other way to rid myself of this toolbar?
No one here is going to do anything about it. Send feedback to Apple.

Add-ons Manager never stops loading
When I try to use the in-browser Add-ons Manager, I can never progress beyond the "Loading..." phase. I still have the Download, Search and Options available. I have waited 5-10 minutes to see if the loading finishes. So far, it has not.
I do not remember what theme I am running. The only add-ons I remember are NoScript, KeyScrambler, and Privacychoice. All my add-ons and themese should be up-to-date as of 8/31/2011.By default the "Get Add-ons" tab is selected if you open the about:addons page (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons).<br />
That page tries to load content from the Mozilla server and that can take some time especially if the Mozilla servers are busy.<br />
You can click on the Extensions tab to see the installed extensions or one of the other tabs to see other installed add-ons.<br /> -
After Firefox 6 upgrade, Add-ons Manager does not load, it just says "loading" forever
nothing to add
Thanks for the suggestions. When you click on Tools and then Add-ons, theAdd-on Manager launches, and by default "Get Add Ons" is selected. Although I was not getting any response other than "Loading", if I then click on Extensions or Appearance or Plugins, I was getting a proper response from those three. After doing that and closing out Add-ons Manager and then relaunching it, my original problem disappeared. Now everything works fine. I tested it multiple times and is still OK. Can't explain it but OK for now. Maybe the Get Add-ons portion of the Web site was down at the times I was testing it? I'll keep a watch on it. Thanks for your speedy reply.

Recently firefox has started loading the plugin checker in a new tab everytime it starts. This is annoying and turning off the automatic check for addon updates doesn't stop it.
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
* Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

The Add-ons Manager will not display!
I've been having an intermittent problem with certain features not displaying at all. First it was that I could not "Customize" my toolbar for quite a while. It finally returned suddenly, in FF v4.01, after being unavailable since v3.5.
I've also been without the Magnifying Glass search icon since v3.5, which is still missing. And the show "Properties" option has also disappeared from the Right-Click Context menu, I don't remember if it started in FF v3.x , but I think it was right after upgrading to v4, and it hasn't returned since either.
Now it's the Add-ons Manager that has quit working. It has happened a few times before, but quitting and restarting Firefox brought it back.
This time, however, it seems to be completely disabled. I had just removed the IE Tab Plus extension, to be sure I hadn't installed it over the original IE Tab, which they said could cause unpredictable issues.
Next I used "Install Extensions" from the File menu of the Add-ons Manager tab, and selected a copy of IE Tab Plus I had saved to disk last October 2010 to re-install it. But nothing seemed to happen. No pop-up, or any indication/notification that an extension was about to be installed - nothing.
So I did a search for IE Tab Plus to acquire the latest version from it's Mozilla Add-ons page, where I noticed a "Comment" claiming the IE Tab Plus author was using it to secretly install Ad-ware, and recommended using IE Tab 2 instead.
I decided to do as suggested, but there is no link on the page to install IE Tab 2 from either. I decided to quit and reload Firefox, yet even in Safe Mode, I still can not get the Add-ons Manager Tab to load.
Note:
I also have Mr. Tech's cool Toolkit extension, which I believe added the "Extension Options" item to the Tools menu, and it is also empty now. It was not empty just before this. In fact it still displayed my extensions list after the Add-ons Manager had already failed to load again at all.Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

This can be a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.sqlite, extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.
See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions
If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is an update. -
When I start my browser up my everything that I have been working on comes up without any problem and I can open a new tab to go to another site without a problem, but when I go to the Add-ons Manager it can take over 3 minutes to load and that's if I don't stop it. My other question is can I view my add-ons, plugins, etc without having to open the Add-ons Manager?
Check out this similar thread: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/836711 Some websites, Mozilla included, appear to think I'm using a different version of Firefox from the one I am using; how can I fix this? | Firefox Support Forum]. Does that help?

Why won't add ons manager load?
Am trying to access Addons manager, and page comes up, but nothing loads. The box says "loading", the little symbol keeps spinning, but nothing happens. This is just happening recently, but it's disturbing, as I have no access to my addons at all.
Click on something below the Get Add-ons menu item on the left side of the Add-ons Manager tab.

Just received an update and some add-ons were disabled. Clicked on "Tools", "add-ons". Tab opens and says "Loading" but nothing loads and I can't do anything with add-ons manager. Is there a fix?

Add-ons manager not loading since I updated Firefox yesterday, right?
I updated Firefox yesterday when the update was offered. Now the add-ons manager (accessed from the tools menu) hangs. It says loading and the icon spins, but it never completes the load. I am running on a Mac. Thanks.
This fix is not working for me. It just spins and spins and I cannot see my Add-ons list. It is difficult to imagine why clicking 'Get Add-ons', which sets off a process requiring interaction with a remote database, should cure a problem with the Extensions list, which presumably sits locally.

Firefox 6 can't open add-ons manager to uninstall yahoo toobar which installed by itself.
Yahoo toobar installed itself on my computer and I can't open Add-ons manager to uninstall it. Add-ons manager window just keeps trying to load but won't load.
Open the Firefox Safe Mode and un-install that Yahoo Toolbar extension from there.

Why does add-ons Manager create a new tab every time I go to home page?
When I start Firefox my home page tab shows up along with an add-ons Manager tab and a plus sign for new tab. Every time I go to a web site and then return to my home page ANOTHER add-ons Manager tab shows up. This apparently will go on forever. I have had as many as 20 add-ons Manager tabs showing. The only way to eliminate them is to stop Firefox and then restart. Then it starts all over again. What is causing this?
I'm running the latest version of Firefox and Windows 8.1 on a Dell Inspiron with 8G's of memory and a 1T hard drive.
Please help. Can you post back here a screenshot from this issue?

Firefox 10 Add-Ons Manager does not open in a tab
In later versions of Firefox 9 and now Firefox 10, the "Add-Ons Manager" refuses to open in a tab. Instead, it opens as a window with no border that will not move and cannot be moved or closed except by closing it from the Start Bar at the bottom of the screen.
This occurs on 2 separate PCs, one running Vista, one running XP.
I know it should open as a Tab, but I see no way to do this.
Do I need to change some setting to get it to open properly?
Thanks,
Ken Westupdates 9 and 10 have caused me problems as well with add ons and the extra tab appearing welcoming me to firefox.
With update 10 all my add ons disappeared.. upon going to tools /add ons I found half my add ons were incompatable and the others were closed! I just opened them again and all was fine. Luckily the add ons I use often were still compatable.
The other option is to just add them again if they are compatible.. if not you can get around it by googling and comming up with a solution there somewhere.. One I use a lot is download helper and I had to do this about 3 versions ago to get it running.
There could be a solution in Help/trouble shooting and looking at extensions.. your add ons should be listed there and all be True..
If not you will most probably have to open Containing folder in top block and do something there.. Not sure what but will leave it up to the experts..
Seriously it would most probably be quicker to reinstal you add ons.
