Add open in IE tab to the bookmark toolbar

I downloaded the IE tab add-on but when I try to right click there is no option to open in IE tab. What should I do?

Please try updating Firefox to the most recent version if possible.

  • When opening a new tab from the bookmark it opens in a section of the screen

    sometimes I open bookmark link from the favourites, it happens regularly that those do not open in a new tab or window but in a portion of the screen, as if I pressed Ctrl B and opened it in there in the bookmark.
    Your prompt reply is much appreciated

    Opening in the Sidebar is the default action for bookmarks that are created via a "Bookmark this Page" link or button on a website. Make sure you use the many "Bookmark this Page" methods that are in Firefox instead.
    Right-click that bookmark and select '''Properties''', then un-check the preference for '''Load this bookmark in the sidebar''', and then click Save.

  • How do I get rid of "Open All In Tabs" from the Bookmarks dropdown menu? [STUPIDITY] Also, my bookmarks run off the bottom of the screen and I can't see them all.

    The bottom of my bookmarks in one subcategory extends beyond the screen on my TV and I can't see them all. I can't see where any arrow to extend the bookmarks to the bottom of the list is so I've been clicking below the last visible bookmark in that list and I hit that STUPID "Open All In Tabs" crap (then everything locks up). WHO IN THE WORLD WOULD WANT TO OPEN ALL OF THEIR BOOKMARKS AT ONCE???? Seems really, really stupid to me. And why won't the bookmarks drop down list allow me to see all of the bookmarks I've saved on that topic? It does not automatically scroll down as large lists on other drop down menus routinely do.

    I agree. It is a brainless moronic subcategory!!! I would love to get rid of it!

  • How do I get the bookmarks toolbar's width to autofit to its buttons when placed next to tabs?

    FF4: I'd like to be able to put the bookmark toolbar right next to my tabs (not above or below). However, when I do this, the width of the toolbar does not shrink down to fit only the buttons, i.e. the bookmarks toolbar takes up a lot of blank space.
    This happens whether placing it on the right or left, or when placing tabs in the bookmarks toolbar.
    To ask the question in another way, is there any way to autofit the bookmarks toolbar to its contents when placing next to tabs?

    Thanks for the reply.
    That's actually exactly what I intend to do. I've tried this both with and without the extension installed. The attached image includes two screenshots: (top) bookmarks toolbar to the left and (bottom) to the right.
    When placed to the left, the tabs end up way over to the right and not up against the bookmark toolbar's contents, restricting the amount of space for tabs to fill.
    When placed to the right, the bookmark toolbar's contents are not right justified and, again, restricting room for tabs.
    Hopefully this clarifies my question.

  • How can I move the Bookmarks button on the Bookmarks toolbar to the left side, please?

    I have just done a full reset to get rid of various problems and am trying NOT to alter things without a good reason as that is probably how I broke it before... but I really do need my bookmarks button on the left!
    I cannot discover how to open a customise menu for the bookmarks toolbar??

    You should be able to move the Bookmarks Menu button to the left end side of the Bookmarks Toolbar ot to another toolbar while the customize window is open.
    *Firefox menu button > Options > Toolbar Layout
    *View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
    *Right-click empty toolbar area

  • Every time I try updating to 9.0.1 the bookmarks toolbar text is a mess, words are separated by inches of empty space... a real big mess. I tried updating again today with the same results. Why does 9.0.1 keep doing this?

    I use Win7 on a wide screen laptop. The icons and words on the tabs of the bookmarks toolbar are widely spaced, bookmark text is so widely spaced that labels aren't completely seen (i.e. on the tab with the label 'Will's bookmarks' only Will's...'' can be seen), tabs are normal in size but the words on the tabs have wide gaps between them. It really looks bizarre. this has happened every time I have attempted the update, 4-5 times now.

    Do you have an extension like TACO (Abine) or TrackerBlock that maintains a set of OPT-OUT cookies?
    * Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out (TACO): https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/targeted-advertising-cookie-op/
    * TrackerBlock: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/trackerblock/
    * Beef Taco (Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out): https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/beef-taco-targeted-advertising/
    If you do then you need to disable or uninstall such an extension.
    If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file <i>cookies.sqlite</i> that stores the cookies is corrupted.<br />
    Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

    Somehow your bookmarks that normally appear on the separate Bookmarks Toolbar (the part on the left) got onto your main Navigation Toolbar. To move them back, return to Customize mode and drag "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" to the Bookmarks Toolbar. Then click Done and hopefully that will stick.

  • Firefox 8 changed how "open all in tabs" works for bookmarks. How do I get it back to the way it worked in FF7?

    In fFF7, right clicking a bookmarks folder displayed a menu with "Open all in tabs" as the first item. Selecting this option closed all other tabs, then opened the group in new tabs. This changed in FF8--now the group is opened in tabs adjacent to the already opened tabs. How do I get it to act like it did in FF7 (and before) where the open tabs where closed before opening the new folder?
    Thanks

    So your advice for a feature that worked fine, was intuitive, and we want, but was removed from Firefox, is to add an extension? That's not helpful.

    When I open a bookmark from the bookmarks toolbar, it opens in a side bar instead of a new tab or window. How do I change this to open a new tab?

    Right-click on the bookmark and select Properties. De-select the setting "Load this bookmark in the sidebar"

    Why does the Right-click -> "t" delete a bookmark on the bookmark toolbar, when Right-click -> "t" opens a new tab elsewhere in Firefox. The bookmark toolbar use Right-click -> "w" to open in a new tab. Please change this to "t" to... I keep deleting all my bookmark because you don't make the commands consistent!

    If you have accidentally removed bookmarks then use "Organize > Undo" in the bookmarks manager (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks) to get them back.<br />
    The Organize button is the first of the three buttons on the toolbar in the Library (Bookmarks Manager).<br />
    That only works if you haven't closed Firefox.

  • How do I get a Vista 64 bit XP machine to show a "+" icon on the tab bar to "Open a new tab" and the "Open a new tab" icon on the far right of the Bookmarks tool bar?

    I have Firefox 4.0.1 installed on two laptops, one with Windows Vista, 64 bit and the other with Windows XP. Both machines have the "Open a new tab" icon on the far right of the Bookmarks tool bar. The XP machine also has a + icon on the tab bar to "Open a new tab" while the Vista machine does not have that + icon. I like using that; is there any way to get it on the Vista machine?

    After weeks of trying, I stumbled on the solution:
    # Right-click on an empty section of the Tab Strip, select Customize... and the Customize Toolbar window will open.
    # At the bottom of the Customize Toolbar window, there are additional options for changing the appearance of the icons in your toolbars. From the Show drop-down menu, you can choose what to display in the toolbars — Icons, Text, or Icons and Text together. By default, Firefox just shows Icons.
    # Select Icons and Text
    # When you are finished making changes, click Done to close the Customize Toolbar window.

  • When clicking "open in new tab" a link that is on the bookmarks toolbar, but hidden (meaning that they are visible when clicking on arrows on right side) nothing happens. Actually all right click features do not work on those "hidden" bookmarks.

    I have lots of bookmarks on the bookmarks toolbar, so they some are hidden on the right side, you have to click on those arrows in order to reveal those, and that's were I found out that right clicking on any of those bookmarks does not have any effect.

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • How can I remove 'Open all in tabs' from my bookmarks?

    How can I remove 'Open all in tabs' from my bookmarks? It's very annoying when you click on it by error. I downgraded from 29 to 28 because of the various bookmark issues I was having. I never had this issue with previous version of FF, why did they have to mess with stuff that was working.
    I love the new layout. Thanks

    Firefox 28 contains security vulnerabilities. It's best to start a new thread (ask a new question) about the other issues you're having with Firefox 29 and resolve them.
    * https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html
    # Install Stylish and restart Firefox when prompted.
    #* https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/
    # Open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A).
    # Click User Styles on the left.
    # Click the Write New Style button at the top. Paste the following in the text box, give the style a name, then click the Save button.
    <pre><nowiki>

    #BMB_bookmarksPopup .openintabs-menuitem,
    #bookmarksMenuPopup .openintabs-menuitem {
    display: none !important;

    If you don't want to install an add-on, you can use the ''userChrome.css'' file instead, but I don't recommend it.

  • Firefox 3.6 had a "Bookmark All Tabs" in the Bookmarks Pull down menu. How can I "Bookmark All Tabs" using Firefox 4.0.1

    I recently updated to Firefox 4.0.1 from Firefox 3.6. Firefox 3.6 had a "Bookmark All Tabs" in the Bookmarks pull down menu. There isn't a "Bookmark All Tabs" in the Firefox 4.0.1 Bookmarks pull down menu. Has this feature been eliminated from Firefox 4.0.1? If I want to save 24 tabs in one window of Firefox and 14 tabs in another window of Firefox, do I have to save all the tabs individually? How can I set the options, preferences, etc. so that I can "Bookmark All Tabs" at once in a window of Firefox 4.0.1. I am running Firefox 4.0.1 on a desktop computer with Windows7 Professional OS with Firefox as my default browser.

    Right click a tab and you will get the option to bookmark all tabs. Or use keyboard '''Alt + B''' which opens the old style menu. You can make changes to Firefox, as explained in this post: [/questions/799856#answer-155765]
