dw menu->New->general->html
save the file to within the site, add content, upload
go to an existing page, and make a link to the new page.

Adding keywords to a web page with Dreamweaver 8

Hi,
Does anyone of you know how to add keywords to a web page
with Dreamweaver 8? I want the link to the web page shows up when
people google the keywords. I pulled out the instructions from
ehow.com and followed the instructions by using the HTML Keywords
function in the Insert menu. I tested it on Google website by
entering the keywords but it did not work.
Any clues would be helpful.

Let's put it this way - those sites I have that are highly
ranked do not
have any meta keywords on them. So - you do the math....

I don't want to be the one to put you off. I'm in over my head too but I really enjoy the pain of grappling with Dreamweaver. It isn't really for the novice user and unlike any other app I know, it will be of greater benefit to those who have some knowledge of the underlying languages it deals with. i.e. HTML, CSS and some others. Strangely, I also hear from people that know the coding well, that they don't like/use/need Dreamweaver.
If you only want one site, and don't really need to wrench your own unique identity from what you are doing, why not look at a free site from Wordpress.com? I am sure you can use your own domain, and as you get proficient at it, you can expand what's there by paying for it.

Importing MS Word into PDF adds extra page with document info

I am still evaluating Acrobat Pro, including Life Cycle Designer to create Forms, currently testing converting existing forms made in MS Word to PDF. There is someting that I do not know how to resolve is when I import files from MS Word, an extra page with details info about the document is copied as well. It contains info such as number of pages, author, date of creation etc....20 lines of info.
This becomes akward when inserting the document into an existing pdf...or just create a new form from the Word document....adds the extra page ..
Is there a setup somewhere that I could modify to not have the extra info? or how do I delete it? I try to select the text but cannot (within life cycle)

If you are importing into Designer, you should ask in that forum. If in Acrobat, then you might try printing the WORD document to a PDF first and importing the PDF. However, with Acrobat you will not get the form fields that you are preserving with Designer.

Make invisible page with dreamweaver 8?

hi there, I need a help please, about "can I make an invisible page with dw8?"
invisible page I mean is can I mean my website visitors can still have access to this page but this page name is now listed in the menu list.
and also, the 2nd is:
if I have 5 pages, and I want the menu list (consist of pages name) to be shown in only 3 of them how to do it?
I'm beginner, if you might think this is a silly question.

As for your first question do as you say, create the page and do not link to it from within your main content.

Smartofrms: add final page with LOGO (print invoice)

Hi all,
In Smartforms, I would like to insert a final page with the LOGO of the company in whole page size.
I already used &PAGE1(first) and &PAGE2(next) but I am not able of to call a third and final page (ENDPG).
I followed this steps:
- created the final page (ENDPG)
- created the window (WINLOGO) containts LOGO
- used commanD "go to new page" ( ENDPG ) in the window footer (TESTO_CODA in &PAGE1/&PAGE2)
   but the compilation is in error: "No new page allowed in secondary window"
I not sure wich command needs to do this operation.

Your approach is correct but you need to put the command node at the end of the MAIN window for your first/next page definitions, not in a secondary window.

Linking to other pages with JSP

Hi guys,
I'm just getting my feet wet with creating Java portlets, so sorry if this question has been answered many times before and seems ridiculously simple.
Say I have two pages in portal. Page A has JSP portlet 1. Page B has portlet 2, also JSP.
What I want to do is create a link in portlet 1 on page A, clicking on which will navigate the browser to page B and pass a parameter (through the querystring?) to portlet 2.
How do I go about doing this? If anyone has an answer, or a place i can find documentation about this, I would be thrilled.

The JPDK parameters & events sample does exactly the same thing. Register the event provider & add these portlets to your page. The provider.xml for event provider is located at %OC4J_PORTAL%/j2ee/home/applications/jpdk/jpdk/WEB-INF/providers/event
Also go through the eventform.jsp & publicparam.jsp in the WEB-INF/htdocs/ folder. However, before starting with this, if you are not too familiar with the "Parameters and Events" concept, you should start from the document overview.parameters.events.html at %PDK_EXTRACT%/pdk/articles

Now the media opens up in a new tab page? You can check if any application preferences changed in Preferences > Applications.
Is there a website you can provide an example for? Does it happen on multiple sites? And if you disable Quicktime in about:addons does this do this still?
This may explain any changes that you are noticing. However the only preferences that can be changed in Firefox is within the video player settings as far as I understand, but happy to find out more when you post back.

Website page with jquery datepicker does not calculate dates while other pages without datepicker and all other browsers do their job

I wrote two mobile pages with dreamweaver cs5.5 and jquery. Both do online calculations. Both appear and accept input. One page using jquery datepicker does not calculate. Solely in Firefox. IE9, Safari, Chrome display correct results. Debuggers show no error. Firebug seems telling me that Firefox does not get a result from datepicker function.

Thanks. But did not help. I had done this several times before, reload, clear cache, disable extensions etc. Always used standard theme. I tried the same on two different machines, with next to last version and after having installed the latest version. In the debugger I can see that variables "zeit1" (jquery datepicker) were not filled with the datepicking results, while in all other browsers zeitX shows the current date and the app shows the results that are expected. Given that another comparable app - only without date and datepicker functions - works in Firefox I think one should explore why solely datepicker - or the function using datepicker - does not show results solely in Firefox on desktop (no mobile device with Firefox on hand) . I indeed believe that there is a mistake in my code which is detected only by Firefox (10.0.2 at the present time, with Win7 64bit - had the problem with 3.6... on another machine). Given that you could run the app with results on your machine: could it be the context of locale/culture (here: de)?

Open URL with Dreamweaver

I'm a webdeveloper who works with tons of different pages each day. Many of these are sent as URLs by others in the organization, via email, etc.
To increase efficiency, I'd like to use our testing environment to automatically open URLs with Dreamweaver. So, basically, open a URL in the test environment (test.example.com/testing123.html), then have a link on the page to open that exact page with Dreamweaver.
Question is....does anyone know a way to open a specific file with a specific desktop application from the browser??

In Firefox, you can click file and Save Page As, then save the page as an HTML file. Under Tools>Options or Firefox>Preferences (Mac) you can go to the Applications tab and add HTML as a file type and select DW as the default app to open them.
Personally, I'd caution against that because it messes up things that you really should be using Firefox or IE to open. (CHMs or application help files for example).

after calling the chkBreakdown function and found out that it has record, then pop up an alert that tell the user this record have breakdown, and then link to the other page with the same window.
so the problem is how to identify user click on which row in the table.

As a workaround, I created a Blank page and used the Copy Region wizard to copy the IR region over to the blank page. Same error. Looks like this particular IR's metadata is somehow corrupted?

I can try. I rarely use the Builder UI to import applications because it is extremely painfu land usually never works but with apex.oracle.com I don't have a choice.
First, I used the Import function to install my app. After a long time, I got an error
But the file was already uploaded so I went to the Export/Import repository and clicked on the Install link. I chose the auto assign a new app id and clicked Install and after a long time I got this error.
So I used the browser's Back button to go back a couple of screens and clicked the Install button and got this error
Just on a whim, I went to the Builder home page and voilà the application was already there! Hopefully, the import function will be improved soon. But I digress.
Anyway, I am not able to reproduce this. The Copy Page functions works fine on apex.oracle.com. Looks like it is indeed a 9.2 bug. I will see if dropping and re-importing the app helps.

Navigate to a page with this.pageNum

Hi,
I have a 3D PDF and I have added several other pages with normal text to this pdf. The 3D Media is on the first page. Now I'd like to navigate from the first page with Javascript to an other page.
this.pageNum = 3;
works for all pages except the first page with the 3D media.
When I am on the first page and call this.pageNum = 3; page zooms out and centers the 3D Media but doesn't go to the page 4. But when a press then the adobe button for going to the next site, the pdf goes directly to the fourth page.

I know, but I have no other idea, how I could resolve this. DBA do not want to see hundreds of Discoverer user created in the database. I have to authenticate users via APEX (calling Microsoft Active Directory using the built in LDAP package) and then I have to navigate them to the appropriate Discoverer enabled Oracle user. This seemed to be the less painful solution.
These are simple end users, and reports are not that sensitive to justify more effort than described above.

Favicon in DWT will not appear on other pages?

I made a Favicon.ico and placed it in my .dwt Template file.

When I view the template file on the net I see the favicon image.
But when I go to view the other pages with in the site I do not see the favicon.
I have checked and I see the code in all the pages but the favicon still does not appear.
The favico only apperas in the template .dwt file and no other pages.
