Add Page to Browser Favorites

Hi all,
is there a possibility to bookmark portal pages, without the button in the page toolbar? Just by clicking on add to browser favorites in the Browser. The problem is: No matter which page is diplayed on the Browser I have in the Adress bar the URI:
http://ServerName:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default
So if add this to my bookmarks, the portallauncher is added and not the page itself.

I know what you mean, but unfortunately you can bookmark pages by clicking in the toolbar the button "Add to Browser Favorites" which creates a link something like this: http://ServerName:50000/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/administrator/super_admin/super_admin_role/com.sap.portal.content_administration/com.sap.portal.portal_content. That's fine for me, but I think there must be a "JavaScript" way to tell the browser to do his on his own, without the portal feature "Add to Browser favorites".

via "Add to Browser Favorites", you can get a URL for opening exactly the portal page you are currently on. Is there any possibility
to get (or create/generate) the URL for such a page from ABAP-side? We have the requirement to send e-mails from the ABAP
backend with links (URLs) to a corresponding portal page (like the example below). This has to be done quite generic, mi.e. the server,
the port, the application parameters, etc. cannot be hardcoded but have to be generated in a generic way.

It is hard to know exactly what to suggest since I don't know the full story behind the process you are trying to implement. However I can make some suggestions:
1. Use short URLs. These can be configured in the portal and will allow for easier navigation. you will see this as a "quick link" parameter in the page properties.
2. Rather then hard coding any values use a configuration table in the ABAP system.
3. If the process starts in the portal you could have your portal application send the necessary data to the ABAP system so it could use it to generate the email (e.g. Server/Port/Parameters etc...)
4. If it is a dual stack system you may be able to leverage the co-existance of portal an ABAP on the same server.
5. What about using a web service on the portal to supply the URL to the ABAP system. You could call this web service from the ABAP and have the portal provide the data that way. This would be good if your process kicks off on the ABAP side and not via the portal.
Anyway, I hope some of those suggestions help.

Firefox won't open after i downloaded a Page Speed browser add-on

I went to Google Webmaster Central. To check my site performance it asked me to :

It then asked me to restart firefox. I said ok and firefox switched off but never started again. It won't open when i try to start it again.
I have a lot of saved bookmarks and don't want to loose them. Will this happen if i uninstall and reload firefox or is there a way to get this version working again.

Try opening Firefox in [[safe mode]], whilst in safe mode you can access the add-ons manager and uninstall the Page Speed Browser extension. Hopefully this will resolve your problem.

In the Portal Environment, the end user has an option to "Add To Browser Favorites". This will trigger the "Add a Favorite" window in the Internet Explorer and the user can save the favorite as needed. Do we have a similar cabapility in ABAP Web Dynpro if the Web Dynpro is not delivered through an SAP Portal?

No. There is no similiar option in the Web Dynpro framework, nor can you access JavaScript in order to interact with the web browser and supply this feature. Browser Favorites can be maintained by the NetWeaver Portal Framework or in the NetWeaver Business Client by the surrounding frame. In the case of the NWBC, it isn't actually browser favorites but a separate set of favorites merged with Easy Access Menu favorites.

Unwanted blank add page opening my browser

I keep having what looks like an add page starting my browser on its own or opening a tab on its own when I an using the browser. It comes up blank but the tab has different names on it. How do I get it to stop?

How to add a table to Favorites

Hello Friends
I have this table that I keep using regularly.
Everytime I want to use it, I have to give transaction code SE11 and then select the table I want etc. etc.,
Instead, is there a way to just put it on my favorite and once I click on it, it will automatically open it.
I have done this for my abap programs that i have written using SE38, but not the tables itself.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

How to add pages to the Frequent list

In Windows 7, in the Start menu, there's a section for Firefox. The right arrow points to a Pinned List, and a Frequent List.
How do I change the tabs in the Frequent section? Unless I'm mistaken my list hasnt changed in weeks.

I don't think you can edit the Frequent section, but you can add pages to a Pinned section in a somewhat roundabout way. Does the solution in the following thread help?

If the Frequent section annoys you with its irrelevance, you can disable it using a hidden Firefox preference. Here's how:

Can not preview HTML pages in browser

I am unable to preview my HTML pages in a browser eg. safari. firefox etc... before uploading them to my server. I have tried going into preferences and clicking on the preview in browser section and adding a new primary and secondary browser but it will not work. I was able to preview my pages in browser mode fine up until a few days ago when it suddenly stopped working. I am using Mac OS X version 10.5.8, Prosessor 4x2.5 GHz PowerPC G5. Memory 4.5 GB DDR2 SDRAM. I have Dreamweaver CS3. My test server is set to none.

When I try to preview HTML pages in browser it comes up with a message saying 'Would you like to define a primary browser now?' but when i try this it does not work, it will not recognise the browsers when i add them to the list.

Add pages to community links -- what's missing

Community links display external links, documents, and users fairly reliably. I'm having trouble linking to an internal page, though, with the "Add Page" control. I can launch the page browser and select the page I want, but when I click OK, I'm getting a very descriptive message: "Error - The server has experienced an error. As we discussed, this issue has been reported as bug # 7824743. The bug is still open and the current workaround from the bug notes is to use the ‘Add Links’ button and paste in the url from the desired page you want to add. This works fine, however you will need to have the url beforehand.
I have documented the bug number in your ticket and also added your ticket to the bug notes. As per Oracle policy I will now place the case in soft close status. You can check the status of the bug directly on metalink if you are looking for status in the future.

Line 1 & 2. A reference to the context node is created This context node(Node_Name) which is mapped to the UI elemenents on the adobe interactive form.
Line 3,4 & 5: reference to the window manager, component and window are created(all those starting with 'if' stands for interfaces, if you want details about these interfaces, goto transaction SE24 and insert their name and search for parameters and methods.- putting all these details as you said you are new to Wd ABAP).
rest of the lines: creating window API and assigning mandatory parameters to this window.
last line: opening window whenever this particular(wd window) is getting called.
for more details goto SE 24 search with 'if_wd_window".

Add page numbers to a document in Pages

How do I add page numbers to a document in Pages on the iPhone?

When I tap the spanner I don't see Document set up.
I see this:

How do I add page numbers to my document without the page numbers automatically changing. I do not want the page numbers the software automatically places into my document.

How do I add page numbers to my document without the page numbers automatically changing? The title page is blank, I can type in 1 on the 1st typed page, but the #1 automatically goes into the next page and will not change.

Click at bottom of the first page:
Menu > Insert > Section break
Click somewhere in the 2nd page (not the header/footer)
Inspector > Layout > Section > Page Numbers > Start at 1 > Configuration > uncheck use previous headers and footers
Click into the header or footer of the second page:
Menu > Insert > Auto Page Numbers…
If there is anything in the header or footer on the first page that you don't want just select it and delete it.
If you really wanted to manual place page numbers on each page you will have to use a section break between each and every page. I can't imagine that would be useful.
