Add Pages Title to result source

Hi everyone,
I've created a search center in a site collection, and i am trying to add all page titles of the all sites and sub sites within the site collection to a result source. what i am trying to achieve is when a user enter a keyword in the search box most relevant
title of the page should show up at the top. I've selected 'local SharePoint results' as default but its searching on matched keywords in everything, page titles are not showing up.
Please Help
P.S i am a newbie on SharePoint

Hi,
I think there are 2 options available here.
1. You can add a new query rule which prompt a top
result block which searchs source named Pages (system).
     With this, you can get a result bock stick to the top which show pages result.
2. Or change the ranked result for Local SharePoin Result
promote pages result to the top.
    With this, you can get pages result on the top of the result list.

  • Page Titles & Photo Captions - help?

    CAn anyone help? I am needing to add captions to the photos on hte site I built with iWeb and can't work out how to do this. I think they are also known as Alt-Tags.
    Also, I have been trying to add page titles, the words that appear in the blue line across the top of Internet Explorer, for example, but can't do that either. At the moment it only displays what my page is called, e.g. Welcome. When I have tried to change it, it seems to also change the headings of the pages in my navigation link which I don't want to do.
    If anyone can help, I'd be really grateful! I'm a bit of a novice so easy explanations are best. I'm using iWeb version 1.1.2 if that makes a difference.
    Thanks!!

    Just ran across a free application, iWeb SEO Tool, that is supposed to be able to write those tags to the images before you publish. You can download it here: http://www.ragesw.com/products/iweb-seo-tool.html. It also advertises that it can optimize a site before uploading. Haven't tried it yet.

  • Is it possible to add the page title to the menu bar?

    Does anyone know of any addons that allow you to add the webpage title to the menu bar? I already took a look at the addon Personal Titlebar, which purports to add the menu bar onto the title bar, but had no luck getting it to actually do what it advertised.
    I like the way the menu bar looks beside the orange Firefox button, but would also like to be able to see the full page title in the blank space between "Help" and the title bar buttons (min/zoom/close). I don't want to enable the actual full title bar. That would be a waste of space.

    That creates a title bar on top of the existing menu bar, which is what I want to avoid. I was hoping someone had created a way to combine the two easily, rather than having them exist as separate bars using double the screen real estate and leaving giant unused areas.
    I was hoping for something more like what I mocked up in the included image. The top is with the title bar enabled, the bottom is the preferred result.

  • Add unique title and description to other Blog pages

    Hi,
    There's a few pages that I cannot work out how to add a unique title and description tag within the Blog.
    These are:
    The page numbers - in the footer of the Blog if you click page 2, 3, 4, etc
    eg: http://www.cardiotech.com.au/_blog/Latest_Fitness_News/page/4/
    The Tags pages - if you click a tag and you're then presented with a list of articles for that tag it still displays the default Blog title
    eg: http://www.cardiotech.com.au/_blog/Latest_Fitness_News/tag/Exercise/
    The Archives pages - if you click on a month under Archives and it displays all the articles for that month it displays the default Blog title
    I just need to know where this template is or even if there is one?
    Hope this makes sense.
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Hey there.
    You can not edit/add unique titles for these.
    As a note I can see you still have _blog - You can enable the proper SEO Custom url now and it probably says so in a yellow box on the detail part of the blog.

  • Someone said to add the title on each web page on the main text box. Which is that?

    I read in the discussion items that you should not bother with meta tags but just wirte the title in your main text box on each page with the word image in the beginning. Where in the main text box? The first one on the page? That has my web page title. Help. Judy

    iWeb uses the textbox in the Header layer of an iWeb page as the title in the browserwindow.
    Do not remove the original textbox, as you cannot replace it other than by selecting another theme and then change it back to the original theme again. Ruining the layout in the process.
    If the textbox in the Header is missing, iWeb uses a textbox down the page in the Content layer. If that textbox is also missing, it uses another textbox. If that fails it uses the pagename in the Sidebar.
    Sometimes you may want a different text in the titlebar and not display it on the page itself. Or not display it at all.
    So use that textbox in the Header layer. Type your text. Then select the textbox. In the Inspector choose T, click a color to open the color palette and drag the opacity slider to 0 (zero).
    Do Command-T to open the font palette and make the font smaller. (Or do Command--(minus)) Also use a font that doesn't change to an image. Arial is a good font. Perhaps do it first before making the text invisble.
    Resize the textbox. You may want to change the height of the Header layer.
    Do Command-Shift-B to move the textbox to the back, possibly behind other objects.
    Next add a optional second textbox to the Header layer and use that one to display text on the page.
    If you want to move the textbox to the front again to make changes, but can't remember the location on the page, drag the area with the mouse to select the objects.
    Deselect objects you do not want to move forward by Command-dragging the mouse over these objects.
    Next do Command-Shift-F to move the textbox to the front. Repeat the steps in reverse order to make the text visible.
    Practice.

    Need Adds on to highlight or select several(next) pages in search result on current page?

    Do you mean this: you would select a bunch of links with your mouse, then right-click and choose something like "open all these links in new tabs"?
    There are extensions like that. Here are a few examples, but since I don't use them myself, I don't recommend any particular one. You can check the reviews and try the one(s) that sounds good to you:
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/multi-links/ Multi Links]
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/selection-links/ Selection Links]
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/SnapLinksPlus/ Snap Links Plus]
    If you already have one of those but it stopped working, make sure you have the latest version. You can check for updates to your extensions here:

  • SharePoint Online (2013) - Add Result Source

    Sorry for starting a new thread - but the others all seemed to go off into space with no real answer.
    I only want local sharepoint sources in my results.
    I want to exclude/include specific paths.
    Lets start with a simple request:
    Exclude all site collections except for two sites:
    Step 1 - Add new Result Source:
    Protocol = Local SharePoint
    Type = SharePoint Search results.
    use Query Builder.
    {searchTerms} -Path=https://xxxxxx.sharepoint.com/sites/xxxxx/xxxxx*
    When I do a test NOTHING has been excluded. I would like to do the following:
    {searchTerms} -Path=https://xxxxxx.sharepoint.com/sites/*        [NOTE: exlude everything]
    Path=https://xxxxxx.sharepoint.com/sites/sitecollection1/site5/*   [Include site 5]
    Path=https://xxxxxx.sharepoint.com/sites/sitecollection2/site3/*   [Include site 3]
    Question1:  Should this approach work?
    Question2: Should my include statements come before the exclude or after the exclude?
    Question3:  Why is my very simple statement not working when I click on Test?
    BTW, When I click on test I still get hits across all site collections and sites.  The exclude seems to do nothing.
    HELP!!  This should be simple.
    By the way, I think the search approach is very simple.   A little more documentation would be nice.
    Chris M.
    Cheers, Savin Smith

    Are you testing this as an "ordinary" user or a site collection administrator?

  • Page Title Option in SharePoint 2013 Wiki Page.

    In SharePoint 2013, How can I add title to the page that is created under Site Pages library, out of the box I don’t see any option to add title under “Edit Properties section” , please find the attached screenshot.
    I am trying to navigate to the
    /_catalogs/masterpage
    by opening site in SharePoint designer but I don’t find the test1.aspx page.
    Thanks, Ram Ch

    Hi Ram,
    Based on your description, my understanding is that you want to add Title to a wiki page from Site Pages library in SharePoint 2013.
    By default, when we edit a wiki page’s properties, the Title is not displaying. If you want to change the Title of a wiki page, you can modify the current view and add the Title into the view, then use “Quick Edit” to change the Title.
    If you want to add the Title property into a wiki page, you can do via SharePoint Designer 2013.
    The steps are:
    Open your site with SharePoint Designer 2013.
    Click “Site Pages” from the left panel, then click the page that you used and click “Edit file”.
    Find the content place holder with ID “PlaceHolderPageTitle”, then add the following code into the below of the content place holder.
    <asp:Content ContentPlaceHolderID="PlaceHolderPageTitleInTitleArea" runat="server">
            <SharePoint:ListItemProperty Property="Title" runat="server"/>
    </asp:Content>
    The result looks like:
    Note: when you edit the page in SharePoint Deisgner 2013, make sure it is in Advanced Mode.
    Best Regards,

  • Managed property and result sources

    I'm trying to create a search results page that only returns results where the query value = a managed property.
    I am getting these results back but am also getting back results where the query value if found within a documents contents which I do not want.
    We have 3 different crawled properties that I have mapped to a managed property called PropertyFile.
    I have then created a result source and have set the query builder to be: PropertyFile={QueryString.PropNo} and I pass a value such as PropertyFiles.aspx?PropNo=67910
    I have gone into my search results webpart and set the query to PropertyFile(Service). But nothing is returned.
    Have I missed a step?
    I have tried adding PropertyFile={QueryString.PropNo} to the query builder in the search results web part but still nothing (do I need to add this query text in both places??)
    The managed/crawled property mapping seems to be working ok as we have another search page (migrated from 2010) that uses it and works fine... we are trying to replace this functionality with 2013 tech.

    Hi QPR_JAY,
    Please use the following format in your query builder in search results web part.
    {searchboxquery} AND PropertyFile:{QueryString.ProNo}
    Then keep your search results page appended with querystring, in your case it may be the following format, then input the keywords and search it, then it should show the items which are meet the AND operation for keywords and querystring value.
     PropertyFiles.aspx?PropNo=67910

  • Feature request:  auto-complete by typing Page Title (not only URL)

    I'm switching from Firefox to Safari.
    I really miss new Firefox auto URL complete feature.
    Please add it in the future updates.
    I can start typing a word in address line, and a drop-list of URLs appears with URLs AND Page titles.
    Example of a desired behavior.
    Lets say I've visited a week ago an article-page titled "World History" located here http://www.hyperhistory.com/onlinen2/Historyn2/a.html
    Now week later I dont remember the URL, i want to start typing "world history" and a drop list appears of URLs with Page Titles that contain this in a page title (but not necessarily in URL).
    Also if I would type "history" , i want URL "www.hyperhistory.com" to appear in results because it is part of an URL (doesnt matter if its the second word, it should be there.
    Example of a drop list is here http://img100.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture2df8.jpg
    Please let me know if that is possible with current Safari 3.2.1.

    As far as I am aware it's not possible for Safari to do that.
    We're just fellow users like yourself here, so it's unlikely your (good) request will be seen unfortunately. Send feedback to Apple via the Safari menu > Report Bugs to Apple... and/or http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

  • Page title bar

    Hi, we have the requirement of have a bar where only display the title of the page that is actually showing in the portal, nothing more, not commands...
    Anybody know the code to read the page title? With the layout tag library or framework tag library is not possible.
    Another option could be modify the page toolbar standar but I have seen that is build with js and not have a jsp, the light page toolbar does not show the page title.
    Thanks in advanced.
    Regards.

    Hi Optima,
    <i>The concept to get the title of the page is in following code:</i>
    import javax.naming.InitialContext;
    some other import also.
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, IPcdContext.PCD_INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY);
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, request.getUser());
    env.put(Constants.REQUESTED_ASPECT, PcmConstants.ASPECT_SEMANTICS);
    InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(env);
    IPage pageResult = (IPage) iCtx.lookup(<b>pageID</b>);
    Bean Vo = new Bean();
    Vo.setTitle(pageResult.getAttribut("com.sap.portal.pcm.Title",request.getLocale());
    <i>page result is a method in abstract public interface com.sap.portal.pcm.page.IPage
    and the jar to refrence is  com.sap.portal.ivs.api_iview_api.jar.
    To get the page id just search in PCD something like this</i>
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, IPcdContext.PCD_INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY);
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, request.getUser());
    env.put(Constants.REQUESTED_ASPECT, PcmConstants.ASPECT_SEMANTICS);
    InitialContext  ctx = new InitialContext(env);
    dirCtx =(DirContext) ctx.lookup("pcd:portal_content/");
    PcdSearchControls pcdSearchControls = new PcdSearchControls();
    pcdSearchControls.setReturningObjFlag(false);
    pcdSearchControls.setSearchScope(PcdSearchControls.SUBTREE_WITH_UNIT_ROOTS_SCOPE);
    dirCtx.addToEnvironment(Constants.APPLY_ASPECT_TO_CONTEXTS,                         Constants.APPLY_ASPECT_TO_CONTEXTS);
    NamingEnumeration ne =  dirCtx.search("","(com.sap.portal.pcd.gl.ObjectClass=com.sapportals.portal.page)",
    pcdSearchControls);
    pageList = new ArrayList();
    int i = 0;
    while (ne.hasMoreElements()) {
    lookupbean = new PEILookupbean();
    i++;
    IPcdSearchResult searchResult =     (IPcdSearchResult) ne.nextElement();
    String location = "pcd:portal_content/" + searchResult.getName();
    lookbean.setLabel(location);
    lookupbean.setHostName(serverName);
    lookupbean.setComponentType(PEIConstants.COMPONENT_TYPE_P);
    pageList.add(lookupbean);
    <i>Try this, hope it worked.

  • Page personalization without page title bar

    Hello,
    we have removed our page title bar in order to save space.
    Is there any way to still personalize a page, e.g. through a direct URL to the personalization of a given page, or do I have to enable the page title bar again?

    I imagine it might be possible if you...
    1. Take the relevant code from the Page Title Bar iView (which does not have the source code - I will leave it up to you how you want to "get" the source - not sure of SAP's stance on decompiling).
    2. Then create a java iView with the relevant code in it that will perform the personalize functionality. Add a link in the page to launch the personalize function. This link will launch the "personalize" page/code (you will see this in the JAR). You can heavily leverage the existing code. FYI, the iView utilizes the abstract portal component instead of a JSP page. If you are not used to using these, it may be a little confusing at first.
    3. Add this iView to a page; then save the page as a template. Then use the template for all of your pages.
    It might take a some effort to make it work with the page. I just don't know. In the default way it works, the page title bar iview is outside the page that it relates to. The option I am suggesting, the iview is within the page.
    I haven't done this, but I have created my own page title bar iview so I could add an additional hyperlink in it. When I added it to the framework page, the back and forward links would not enable/work unless I added it above the already-existing page titlebar iView (in the layout), or removed the already-existing iView.  I did not end up using the modified iView, so I never took the time to figure out why.
    Now that I think about this, the above option would probably "push" down your content visually anyway(thus you lose space) unless you move it to Dynamic Navigation instead of the page template, so it may be better just to add back the original iview to the framework page.

  • Remove "Home" text in page title

    Anyone know how to remove the "Home" text in the page title's breadcrumb?
    I've tried .s4-title h2{display:none}, which doesn't remove it.  But, actually, I see the "Home" text in both the "h1" and the "h2" tags.
    I looked in IE Developer Tools, and I see the "Home" text within this code:
    <h1 name="onetidprojectpropertytitle">
    <span id="ct100_PlaceHolderSiteName_ContentMap">
    <span>
    <a class="ms-sitemapdirectional" href="/sites/sitecollectionname">
    Text - sitecollectiontitle
    <span>
    Text - >
    <span>
    <a class="ms-sitemapdirectional" href="/sites/sitecollectionname/sitename">
    Text - sitetitle
    <span>
    Text - >
    <span class="ms-sitemapdirectional">
    Text - Home
    I want to get rid of that arrow ">" and the "Home" text.
    any help would be appreciated.  thanks!

    If you are only wanting to remove it from a single page you can add a "Content Editor Web Part"  to the page.   Then change the Layout properties of the Content Editor Web Part to  hidden.
    Using the Source Editor for that webpart you can paste the following code:
    <style>
    .ms-globalTitleArea {
    display:none;
    </style>
    This will hide that entire area.  If you still would like to have the search bar available you will want to paste in this instead:
    <style>
    .ms-sitetitle {
    display:none;
    </style>
    This will only hide the title and will leave the search visible.

  • Page Title not displaying correctly in browser

    This was working fine quite a while, but for some reason, now it just displays a lowercase version of the page name.
    The source code for the page does have the proper title, so it seems like Muse is exporting it correctly, but for some reason it doesn't display.
    It's kind of a minor thing, but it also looks very unprofessional.

    Hmmm, looks all fine to me. Is this the lowercase title you were referring to?
    If so you can set that in one of two ways:
    1: It by default pulls the name from your plan view
    2: You can also go into the page properties, uncheck the 'Same as Page Name' and change it to what ever you like.
