Add photos to album . . .

I'm having a blast with my new (for me) Powerbook with OSX Tiger. Am now playing with iPhoto. I imported photos from my digital camera, then created albums by subject. Noticed I forgot 4 additional photos for one particular album. Can't find anywhere in the iPhoto Help menu, how to ADD photos to an already established album (not folder or book). It tells how to delete but not add. Can it not be done? This is all new to me, so thanx for any help.

Hi, Keehun.
The concept with iPhoto is that you view your photos from the iPhoto application and let it take care of the file management. You can organize with the different choices in the View menu. You can use the calendar tool (lower left corner) to filter you library by year, month, and/or date. After you assign keywords to your photos you can use the keyword tool (lower left corner) to filter your photos to include or exclude (option-click the keyword) any combination of keywords. You can create Smart Albums to gather collections based on date, title, keyword, comment and many other categories. It's very fast and powerful.
That being said, it sounds like you wish to organize your library into more-or-less permanent groups. You can do that, too. Choose Library from the Source Pane. When you view your library, you are looking at your total photo "inventory;" that is, each photo in the library displays once and only once. Choose Film Rolls from the View menu. By organizing the film rolls you are moving photos into distinct folders, and each photo can only exist in one film roll. [As opposed to Albums, where photos can exist in one, 100, or no albums.] Film rolls can be open or closed - click the disclosure triangle beside a roll's title. (Option-click one triangle to open or close all film rolls.) You can move photos between rolls by drag-and-drop. The trick is that you have to drop on the destination roll's title; when the title becomes selected, you can release the mouse and the photo will be placed in that roll. Select photos and choose "Create Film Roll" to make a new roll for them. When a roll's title is selected you can type in the title, roll date, and comment fields in the Info Pane (lower left corner again). Once you get your film rolls organized the way you like, all you have to do is file new imports into your system. You can change it if you want to, or leave it alone. Using the view options and filtering tools I described above will not change your film roll organization. You only have to go back to film roll view to see it.
iPhoto 6 files your photos into folders based on the film rolls. So changes you make to the rolls will be reflected in the Finder. But remember that it's best to stay out of there and manipulate your photos from within iPhoto. Any changes you make to items inside the iPhoto Library folder from the Finder will cause iPhoto to lose the links to your files; at worst, you can corrupt the database and have to create a new library.

  • Can I add photo stream albums to SkyDrive

Can I add photo stream albums to my SkyDrive albums?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photos in the camera roll are those which (in most cases) are taken on the device, the photostream album contains photos which have been synced from photostream in the cloud, which can include photos from your camera roll as well as from other devices using photostream. Photostream photos can be lower resolution than the same photos in the camera roll.
Photos in photostream can be edited and saved to other albums.

  • When I go to add photos into an existing album the albums won't allow me to select them. How do you fix this problem?

When I go to select the photos then hit the arrow to add to existing album it brings up my albums but they are blacked out and won't allow me to select the album I need the photos to go. How do I make it so the photos can go into an album?

Which albums are you trying to add them to ? You should be able to add them to new albums that you've created directly on the iPad, but you can't add photos to albums that were synced from a computer.

  • HT1848 How can I add photos to the iPad while not deleting any currently on it? I have some photos from my brother's camera that I can't get again.  How could save them onto my iMac?

I have uploaded photos from my brother's camera while on vacation to my iPad (1).  Now that I wish to add even more photos to the iPad,  iTunes say that it will replace all the photos once I sync again to add from an album on the iMac.
    WHOA.
I'd like to upload the photos to the iMac! HOw can I do that?
How can I add photos from albums on the iMac and not lose the ones I currently have stored onthe iPad.
I cannot find this task addressed in any Help reference.
I do not understand why I cannot make a simple file transfer back and forth.
    Many thanks!

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • How can I add 100s of old photos to albums on my N...

Hi - I've just switched to an N80. I've got hundreds of photos from previous phones stored in folders. As you'll know, to get this category effect on the N80 I'll need to add them to albums. Any ideas of how I can do this easily for such a large number of photos and videos? Is there a PC-based application? Incidentally, how does the N80 "know" which photo or video goes in which album, does it add a "tag" to the file or something? Thanks in advance...

(or equivalent Store for your country)
You will get by email a code which you use in the Mac App Store (in your Applications folder) to download the installer. You will have to have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed to be able to do this. If you have an earlier version of !0.6 than this you can download an update in Software update. If you are on an earlier system such as Leopard you will have to purchase Snow Leopard - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

  • Adobe Flash Player - Installed latest version but I still cannot add photos to my FB album

I have a Mac with OSX 10.9.5   I have an album on my FB page that I regularly add photos to from my iPhoto. Recently my Adobe Flash Player requested I update to latest version.  I did....several times.   It says It is installed on system preferences...I've installed NPAPI Plug 17.0 as well as PPAPI Plug17.0
And still I get the "Flash Player upgrade required" when I attempt to upload photos.  What can do to fix this?

Ask that in the forum for whatever web browser you're using to access Facebook.

  • "Add to existing album" is missing in Photos app

The Photos app on my iPad 2 gives me the option to add photos from the Camera Roll to a new album, but there is no "Add to existing album" option.  I know it should be there because I've used it before, and I can still see it on my iPhone 4.  But it has disappeared from my iPad.
    I'm using iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1.

You cannot add photos that were synced to to the iPad from iTunes to another album as you have just found out.
Only photos from your camera roll, which would include photos that you take with the iPad, photos saved from emails or photos saved from websites. Synced photos will stay in the albums that you synced them from on your computer.
Synced albums cannot be changed and the photos in those albums cannot be deleted from the device without unselecting them in iTunes and then syncing again.

I'd suggest you ask this question in the iPhoto forums:

Posting here is unnecessarily limiting the people who'll see your question to those running iMacs.

  • How to add photos taken in iOS 8 to albums migrated from iPhoto

Does anyone know how to add photos taken in iOS 8 to albums migrated from iPhoto, or do I have to set up another set of albums?

Albums that you synced from a computer can't be amended in the Photos app, the only way to add (or remove) photos to those albums is to do it on your Mac and resync.

  • How do I get rid of 'add photo' link on published photo album?

I don't see it on my iWeb file but it shows on my published website on the photo album page: a link that says:
    + Add photo
Any idea on how to remove that? Thanks!!

To get rid of the download button, open the Photos inspector and select "Photos Download Size - none".
This will not stop people from downloading images by control clicking. All this does is remove the convenient button.

Do you see any error messages/ diagnostics in the Console Window, when you try to connect to Facebook?
Launch a Console window from Applications > Utilities and clear the Console Window. Then try to upload. Are there any new messages?
And also launch a Terminal and have a look, if "facebook.com" is properly resolved:
    Type
    ping facebook.com
into the window. Do you see any transmissions? What is the IP address used?
