Add (+) search criteria grayed out

When searching in a finder window, the normal ( +) button to add search criteria is disabled. I thought maybe I had a corrupt preference file, so I trashed all the .plist files that seemed to relate to the finder. Whe I restarted, the button was back, but only for a few minutes. After that, it went back to being disabled.
It looks like this attached image, with the button grayed out, and a ( - ) instead of a ( + ).
The problem is isolated to my primary user account. Others on the same machine are unaffected.
I looked over the discussion boards, and can't find anyone else with this problem, but maybe I don't know the right terminology. Any help would be appreciated.
What am I missing?

I narrowed it down further. This finder bug only appears when I use Command-N or click the Finder icon in the dock to create a new window.
If I double click any folder icon or drive on the desktop, the finder window that pops up has the ( + ) icon enabled, exactly as it should. What is going on?

How to Dynamically add Search Criteria in Advance Search Region.

Hi All,
I want to understand how can we add Search Criteria dynamically in the Advance Search Region.
The Requirement is to add 4 additional search criteria for an org_id in a multi org structure. For other business those fields should not be visible.
I did try this with the form personalization but could not Show/hide the additional search criteria programatically for the business as we can only see 4 search criteria at the time of page load and other criteria comes in the drop down list to add which can not be show/hide after page load.
I thought of a solution to add search criterias dynamically for my org through extending controller.
I found the OAAdvanceSearchBean (advance search Region in controller) object for my Advance Search but could you tell me how can I add the Criteria Row in that Advance Search (createWebBean function) and then add the item in criteria Row dynamically.
Also please tell me how we can increase the showed criteria from default 4 to more, setDisplayedCriteriaCount(int) is not allowed and it is not working also.

Hi,
As Lars said The "Search Option Set" and the "Search Component Set" offer you quite some flexibility.
You can configure both of these component to customize your search.
Once you did it, you can create a new basic search iview and set these components.
On the other hand, you also customize the layout use to show result of search.
Dont'f forget that you need to configure Trex and create an index.
For instance, I configured the search criteria, the system only asked me some metadatas (created by us,whose value are dependents). Each time that you upload a document you set these attributes.
Then when you want to search, appear a screen with these values

ESS Who is Who - Add search criteria

Hi all,
I have tried searching the forums, but can't find an answer for my problem. I want to add an additional field to the search criteria for the who is who iview.
I am able to change the advanced search, but I want to add a search criteria on the first screen. Changing the service for the adress book (Employee Self-Service -> Service-Specific Settings -> Address Book -> Who's Who -> Who's Who (ESS): Selection and Output) does not change this first screen.
Anyone know how I can make this change?

If by selecting fields you mean in the Who's Who (ESS): Selection and Output, then yes.
I have there available 3 tabs, none have the default settings.
First tab I can set the selectionfields, but when changing/adding a field here, my "simple search" does not change. The changes here are reflected under the advanced search, which is nice, but not what I want.
I simply want to add 1 additional field to the first search screen, so the user does not have to always use the advanced search option.

After upgrade to 10.6.2 the" entire message" search option grayed out

Just upgraded to t10.6.2 but now in the mail when searching for a mail the entire mail search option is not available anymore it is there but it is grayed out it can not be activated. That was the beauty if mail.
on the other hand the To do button now works again

You have not said, but I would guess you are using an IMAP account? If so, then might it be that the selection in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced has gotten changed to not keep copies of messages (and/or attachments) for Offline Viewing? The Entire Mail search will be grayed out when copies of the messages are not stored locally.

How to add search criteria options in CRM UI?

Dear all,
we`ve recently updated to SolMan 7.1 SPS10 (source was SPS04). Now I`m struggling a bit with adding
an additional search criteria to the Incident Management Search View.
I already considered OSS Note 1918128 (same Title as this thread) and I was able to check this in our - not yet updated - Productive System
where this has been implemented already.
Adding the Object /AICRM/PROJECT_ID to the customizing table BTQSRVREQ in SPRO with some Operators didn`t make the trick

Can you please assist me how I can add an additional Search Criteria to the Icident Management Search context (selectable/Operators etc.?).
Reason behind is - we`d like search for open / closed incident for certain Projects as filter criteria.
In Addition it would be also great to know - How the Incident Management Standard View / Table can be extended
by the column "Project ID".
The Project ID itsself is already linked a new created Icident - hence I`m able check the Project assignment by opening
a specific Icident and personalize the view.

Add search criteria field to ERPQOrder

I would like to add additional search criteria fields to the Dynamic Query Object ERPQOrder. I want to enhance the class CL_CRM_QORDER_RUN_ERPIL for the purpose. Is there a way to accomplish this requirement?

Following steps:
In the Append the structure CRMST_QORDER_ERPIL add the new fields.
Update the design layer by adding the new fields to the UI object type ERP and reference design object ERPQORDER in view cluster CRMVC_SDESIGN_G.
In the view cluster CRMVC_DQ update if the new fields have wild card allowed or not.
Using the BSP component workbench, enhance the component view ERP_S/ErpOrdSQ
Using the UI configuration tool add the new search criteria fields.
Enhance the class method CL_CRM_QORDER_RUN_ERPIL~PREPARE_SELECTION_PARAMETERS to include additional filter criteria.

Google search is grayed out and I cannot see what I am typing

FF 6.0.2, Google search bar is grayed out and I cannot see what I am typing. The Search bar works but It is annoying.

Site url field has a grey text as "www.yoursite.com" , the OK button will only be active once site url is entered.
Try to type in the site url and then check.

Why are Aperture Add Effect options grayed out?

Hello. I just bought a new iMac and moved all my data in from a Time Capsule. I frequently select "all images" and use the Quick Fixes option within Add Effect under the photos tab on the top left corner of the screen to run a batch process. But now when I try it all of the options are grayed out. I can highlight a couple of images and the option is available where normally running a batch is a non-issue. Thanks in advance for any ideas and help.

Are all Adjustments greyed out, or only the effects in the in the "Effects > Quick Fixes" menu? And does it only happen, when you are trying to adjust more than one image?
Check these possible reasons for disabled adjustments:
Are you in Quick Preview mode? Then no adjustments will be available at all.
If the Quick Preview button is highlighted, disable it.
Do you have "Primary only" enabled? (the framed "1" button to the left of the Quick Preview button). Then deselect it.

"Add to Audition" grayed out

I have a multicam clip that I created and is edited by varioius angles in the timeline. However, there is a section of it I wan to possible replace with a re-do of that section. I have a seperate multicam clip ready to go and I want to use the audition feature.
I first too the section of the clip in the timeline I wanted to have as an audition option and made it made it a new compound clip. When I attempt to drop in the second clip ontop of it to create an audition, I get the white overlay and drop the clip onto it. However, the context menu comes up will not allow me to use teh clip as an audition. "Add to Audition" and "Replace and Add to Audition" are both grayed out.
What am I doing wrong? How do I add the clip to create and audion between the two clips? It shoudln't matter that they are multicam, shoudl it?

I think I need to clarify the situation. There is no additional "Angle" to add. Its a completely different clip. Using another clip to audition against another clip doesn't defeat the object at all.
I had three cameras recording a clip which were combined into a single multicam clip, no prob. The subject (doing a sort of how-to video) explained a process one way. However, after we compelted that filming, we decided to do that section over and have the subject explain it another way. So I made a second multicam clip. They are not sure which one they will like better. So I have multi-clip #1 and multi-clip #2. Two compeltely different recordings (just each utilizing multi-camera instead of a single camera clip). mc#1 and mc#2 don't share anything in common. Thus I want to be able to audition one edited multicamera clip #1 against multicamera clip #2.
I was able to get it to work IF I select the clip in the timeline (#1) and select Duplicate As Audition. Then it created an identical copy and for some reason, then I can drop the new clip (#2) on top and it allows me to add it to the auditon. Then I just delete the un-needed copy. Not sure why that worked, but it does. Now I have both #1 and #2 mc clips availanble for audioion. Gotta be an easier way. But at least it works.

WEB-UI - How can we add search criteria "Activity ID" to archive search?

When searching for an activity via the WEB-UI (Component BT126S_APPT / View ApptSQ) , it is not possible to search by activity ID (Search criteria is not available). Moreover, activity ID is not shown in the result list .
Is there any way to add the activity ID to the search criteria / result list of the WEB-UI?

What are the steps one would need to follow in order to do such a custom development.

My "FIND' (search) Feature Grayed Out

Suddenly, the FIND feature (under EDIT) is grayed out and not working. It was fine last night; not operational this morning. How do I fix this?

Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 Add printer - Advanced grayed out

Trying to add a printer with advanced under the add printer. But all the fields is greyed out? Unable to fill in some fields?
Please advice.

If you use the normal Windows icon or even one of the IP protocols, instead of the Advanced menu, can you enter data there? Just wondering if it is just the Advanced menu that is blocked for you?
Also, you can add a printer using the CUPS web interface (http://127.0.0.1:631/admin). Wonder if this is working for you?
If neither of the above are working, then I would suggest a reset of the printing system. This will remove all devices from Print & Scan but not the supporting drivers.

This link explains how to add new fields to the account search but it was very useful for me because many things are the same.
This are the most important steps:
1. Open structure CRMST_QUERY_ACT_BTIL and scroll down to its bottom. There is an include called
    CI_EEW_BUS2000126_SEARCH. Double click on the include and create it, if needed. Now add the Fields with the data
    elements you want to add.
2. Adjust Design Layer
3. Add the new field to the Activity Search Page in Web Client (Note: Still the fields are without life because search Logic is
    missing).
4. Enhance the Activity Search with BAdI: CRM_BADI_RF_Q1O_SEARCH

"Add New Printer" can't finish setup...grayed out

Can anyone please help me with this?
I have a Brother MFC-290c multifunction USB'ed into my Extreme Gigabit. It shows up there in Airport Utility.
Upon printer setup in the Preferences Pane I click the + symbol to add a new printer. The Brother shows up at that point and where it is connected but the "Add" button is grayed out as though I need to select a driver as well yet there is no driver suitable in the drop down list. Do I need to install my Brother driver onto my Powerbook before this will work?
The setup guide makes no mention of this in the section on adding a printer.

Congratulations, you have just entered the crappy side of Apple, Leopard. I have the same problem with my HP 5510 attached to my Extreme 802.11n. It works great form my little powerbook running Tiger (the best OS I have ever used), but me and my wife just bought new Macs and of course both have leopard and neither will print. We have the same no river in list issue. I have spent countless hours trying to fix personally and with both Apple and HP. Both sugest that I spent even more money to purchase a new Printer that will work. Yeah so it will no longer work when Sow leopard comes out... Thanks Apple/HP...
Sorry, to here about the bad luck... I'd like to suggest doing a Google on Cups and Gutenprint although I am not sure if anyone is supporting these anymore.
