Add Search Tab
I am trying to add the search tab. The Window option boxes
are selected as per the Help. There is already an Index and
Contents. But the search tab will not display. A co-worker advises
her experience is that if you don't add at the beginning of the
project, you cannot add it later. Is this true, or is there a
workaround?
Any help would be most appreciated.

If your output is webhelp, there is a check box in the second
page of the wizard.
If you output is compiled help (CHM), then look at the Window
properties. There should be a check box there for the search tab.
If you don't see one, make sure that HTML help is set as your
primary output and then create a new window. The properties of that
will have one.
You can switch it on and off any time you like.

How to add search tab in the .chm file
Hi All,
All these days, I was using RH -5 to create the .chm file. Today, I moved onto RH -9. The chm file had the Search option enabled automatically in RH-5. But in RH-9, Glossary option alone is available and I am not able to add Search tab adjacent to the Index tab. Please refer to the screenshot for more clarification.
Please help me to solve this as the client would expect Search tab for sure.

What you are showing in your image is a mismatch. The tab says Glossary but the contents of the tab show Search.
I think in this case I would suggest attempting to define a new window with the attributes you need. Then configure that window as the default for the layout you are using.
You define the window by:
1. Ensure Microsoft HTML Help is the default layout.
2. Click View > Pods > Project Set-up and you should see the windows there.

Unable to add Search Tab to HTML Help
In RoboHelp HTML 6 I check Search Tab in the Window
Properties dialog but after I compile, no Search Tab is available
in the compiled help. Other Window features seem to switch on or
off as expected. This project was converted from WinHelp (RoboHelp
2002 for Word) at some point. I'm not sure what import/conversion
process was used to move it to HTML Help. Other project aspects
seem to work OK. Previous WinHelp to HTML Help conversions have not

I actually tried that pretty early in the process, but still
ran into the same problem. The good news, though, is that I seem to
have fixed the project. It's a bit of a kludge, but whatever works.
I opened the *.hhp file for the project in question in
Notepad, then opened the *.hhp file for another project that had
the search tab, and compared them. I ended up making the following
changes in the problematic project's *.hhp file to make their
settings match:
In the OPTIONS section, changed Full-text search to Yes.
In the WINDOWS section, changed the settings for the
project's main window to the following:
"Project
Title","project.hhc","project.hhk","","",,,,,0x40040520 (etc.)
That last number in the line was something entirely different
originally, and I think that's where the problem lay. Saved and
closed the file, then recompiled and the tab now shows up.

How do I add Core Audio files from my HD to the search tab?
Hello there,
I'm trying to add a few core audio files from my hard drive the sound effects library in Sound track. I assumed if I just coppied and pasted the CAF files in the ambience folder that is in the ilife sound effects folder in my library that the files would automaticaly show up in the search tab in soundtrack. this is not the case.
Can anybody help me?

mikeiTunes/iPod does not provide a way of copying tracks from an iPod to iTunes except for purchased music. But iTunes can play MP3 files without conversion.
Here are some ways of getting files from an iPod to your PC:
Copy from iPod to PC
It is important not to allow your iPod to sync with an empty library. If it is set to synchronise automatically you will get a message saying your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to sync – it is important to press cancel as syncing with an empty library erases all music from your iPod.
You can also prevent auto sync by holding down shift & ctrl as you plug in your iPod and keeping the keys held down until the iPod appears in iTunes.
Once you are connected, you need to set your iPod to manage music manually.

If you have an iPod with iTunes Store purchases on it, you can use it to copy your purchases to other authorized computers.

You can't add icons to Safari on iOS devices. You can set google as your default search engine for Safari via Settings > Safari > Search Engine - the URL field acts as both URL and search on iOS 7

When your search tab is on you can't highlight or add note etc to the pdf. While this was possible in previous version. Please fix this, it's very annoying

Need to Delete Glossary & Add Search
Hi All,
After converting my RH7 project to RH8, RH added a Glossary tab (which is empty, by design because we don't use them) and removed the Search tab. I am trying to remove the Glossary tab, but the Delete option is greyed out. I deleted the .glo file from the project folder and reopened the project, but all that did was give the Glossary file a red X. I have searched this forum, but no one else seems to have this problem.
Can anyone help me permanently delete the Glossary from my project?
I also can't find how to add back the Search tab. Can anyone help me with that, too?
(If these are simple tasks, I apologize in advance. I've onlly been using RH for a few months.

Thanks for the info.
For CHM files you need to edit the Window definition. Click View > Pods > Project Set Up. Expand the Windows pseudo-folder. Double-click the CHM window definition. (The WebHelp definition will have a small globe in the center of the icon)
Ensure the Glossary check box is cleared in the lower left area of the dialog.

In the image:
Item A shows the Topic Title inside RH.
Item B shows what I'm typing in the Search tab of the HTML Help file. (I'm typing "GD&T").
Item C shows the list results. Notice that when I type "GD&T" in the search tab, the results return "GD?" ion the list of results.
In short the "T" is missing and the ampersand character shows a question mark character instead.
How can I get it to show an ampersand in this list and not delete the letter following the ampersand.

Vista 32 bit.Some co-workers of mine eventually helped fix this.
In the Topic Title field for topic titles that have the & symbol, you need to type & in place of just an & symbol. This causes the & to appear within the Search tab list results. Note however that if you add this topic onto the Table of Contents, it will display & there, so you will need to rename the TOC to just use &. -
Competitor in customer search tab in CIC0

In CIC0 we have customer search tab which contains the details of customer search.
I want to add a field of competitor in that screen. This field will indicate wheather this customer is competitor or not.

I hope you talk about the tab 'Extended BP search' within in workspace area, then you have to follow this steps:
1. Copy in transaction SMW0 the HTML template CRM_CIC_SEARCH_DISPLAY t
an own one (Z_<YOURNAME>.htm).
2. Export this new template to your local PC and use a HTML Editor to
work on this file (like Frontpage).
3. Import this new page in SMW0 again to the copied Web object.
4. Make sure in transaction CRMC_CIC_SEARCH_CNTR the mapping of the
fields is setup for the new template (copy all entries of the
standard template).
5. Make sure the new web object is assigned to the search profile in
CRMC_CIC_SEARCH_RULE
If you want to have additional field available you have to follow
his steps:
1. Create a new structure containing the new fields. Include that
structure in CCMSEARCH_STRUCT.
2. Insert new entries in customizing table CCMSEARCH_CNTRL
(all fields of the new structure that should be displayed
and filled on the HTML).
3. Create your own HTML template in order to display the new fields
4. Create your own search function module. This function module
should return the completely filled structure CCMSEARCH_STRUCT.
So probably you have to call the CCMCS_BP_SEARCH_CONTROL inside
your own function module.
5. Create your own search profile. And insert entries in
CCMSEARCH_RULES to include the new created fm in the dynamic
call in CCMCS_BP_SEARCH_RULES
6. Do changes / modification to the following code:
- New table declarations for new structures in top include
for crm_cic_bp_sub
- Function CCMCS_BP_CLEAR2 (to reset these structures)
- Function CCMCS_GET_TEXTS_FOR_HTML is modified for new headings in the
HTML templates. (used to provide textes on the HTML in several
languages).

How to apply conditional build tags to the topic title that is displayed in Search tab of CHM?
I have the project in which 2 different words are used to reffer to one objects (this word/term depends on the customer). All other information related to functionality, steps, etc. are common. So:
In the help content (body of the files), I created 2 conditional build tags (CBT) for these terms.
In TOC, if topic title contains the term, I created 2 different topics reffered to the single topic file, but the title of the topic shows correct term (depends on CBT).
File names of this topics contain only term1.
The problem occurs when I generate CHM for CBT2 and search for the term1 (marked with CBT1) using the Search tab. All occurrencies where term1 presence in the file name, appear in the found results.
How can I resolve the issue?
These topics must be found by search (that's why "Exclude from search" option is not a decision).Ahhh, you are correct. I believe it was Version 10 introduced that.
So here's what I'd suggest. Even though you are unable to use a variable in a Topic Title, it can still be used in other places such as the TOC, the Index and in the Topic content. So I'd still recommend that you declare and use a variable for those items. Just to simplify things.
As for any topics that have the term in the title, you could create two topics. One with the term one way and the other with the term the opposite way. Then use a Conditional Build Tag to exclude and remove the one that shouldn't be found.
This may cause you a bit of a maintenance issue by having the same topic content in more than one place. (one for each topic)
So to overcome that, you would be able to add the main body information to a topic and use an Inline Frame in the two topics that would then simply be shells with appropriate Topic Titles. Either that or declare a snippet and use the snippet in both topics. Put the main part in the snippet.

Try using any one option:
Create a Search Help in SE11.
Now Goto SE11 -> Enter Ztable -> Select that field -> Click Search Help and try to assign the created Search help to that field in your Ztable explicitly
OR
Create a Zdata element in SE11.
In Data Element, under Further Characteristics tab, enter Name Parameters of Search Help.
Assign this data element to that field in ur Ztable.
OR
Create a Zdomain and maintain a Value Table or Fixed Values for it.
Assign this domain to that field in ur Ztable. -

I'm trying to output a project into a CHM file using RoboHelp 8, and the resulting output completely lacks a Search tab. It's got a Contents tab, an Index tab, and that's it. (The project doesn't have a glossary, so the lack of glossary is no big surprise.) I searched through the forums, and the closest problems I saw were from people whose search tabs "didn't work." However, the fix in that situation (re-registering some DLL files), didn't work for me. I'm hoping someone out there has some insight into how to find a missing search tab. Thanks!

Sorry, but I'm unfamiliar with Frame at this stage of the game. I think the placeholders come into play here. So you may need to experiment with inserting those.
When you create output from RoboHelp, you are able to choose the specific Index you wish to include in the output. Have you ensured you have done this? Additionally, I do believe that for a merged CHM setup a couple of things have to be in place for the index to show.
The master project has to have at lest one keyword defined and mapped to a topic
The index must be configured as Binary
To add a keyword to the master you will need to display the Index Designer pod. Unfortunately it's not straightforward. You do it by expanding the Index pseudo-folder in the Project Manager pod. Then double-click the index listed.
Now you add a term to the index.
From here you ensure Binary is enabled. Click File > Project Settings...
Then when you generate output, ensure you are pointing at the right index.

Blogger has long used Shift+Control+A as the keyboard command for inserting hyperlinks. Now that I've switched to FF4, I discover that it's also the command for opening the add-ons tab. I can still create a hyperlink but every time I do, I have to close the add-on tab. This is a nuisance when writing a link-heavy post. Since I blog regularly on several different Blogger pages, the annoyance factor is growing regularly.
I checked the Keyboard Shortcuts page and read, "Firefox does not provide any method of customizing keyboard shortcuts." Is this absolute? If so, I suggest deleting or changing the FF4 hotkey since Blogger has years of precedence with this command.Scott,
You don't need to use a digital line to create a TTL pulse. The PCI-6025E has two onboard general purpose counters. You can use one of these counters to create a single pulse of the desired pulse width. For an example of how to program the counters on your board, refer to LabVIEW's Search Examples>>I/O Interfaces>>Counters>>Pulse Generation>>DAQ-STC based.
The advantage of using a counter over the digital line is that it allows you to control the timing of the pulse through hardware and not software. Thus, it is inherently faster, and the timing resolution is more accurate. The counter will count down an internal 20 MHz timebase to create the pulse delay and the pulse width.
