Add set type COMM_PR_SHTEXT to product type Service

Hi anyone,
I am trying to add the set type COMM_PR_SHTEXT into a category typed "Service".
I am using the transaction COMM_HIERARCHY.
The problem is when I try to adding the set type (COMM_PR_SHTEXT) doesn't appears it in the matchcode to be selected.
Does anyone knows any solution ?

Hello,
It is possible to add the settype to a single category within a Product Hierarchy per product type.
Also, child categories will inherit this assignment by default.
So, looks like settype COMM_PR_SHTEXT has already been assigned to a category within that
hierarchy for that product type.
You can check this out using table COMC_SETTYPE and COMM_CATFRGR.
So, solution would be to remove the assignment of settype from other category within that hierarchy and re-assigning to the required category. But this is not allowed, if there already exists data for that category.
Other option is try to create new category under the parent category to which that settype is already assigned, so that new category can inherit the settype.

Can't find Set type when maintain Product Category in Local Scenarios

We use SRM7.0 in Local Scenarios. Just create local material.
Our developer made a 'Product Categories mass inport programme' , but for some unexpected reasons, we cann't check or edit original prodcuct categories. so I have to create new product category manually.
When i create prodcut , i get a error message ' Data cannot be maintained for set type COMM_PR_SHTEXT . ' So i wanna add set types 'COMM_PR_SHTEXT' to this product category. but i cann't find this set type in the list whiche ever exist !
which i can find in the list show below:
      CALL_FWD_TD
      COMM_PR_GTIN
      COM_COMMERCIAL
      COM_TA_R3_ID
      CRMM_PR_TAX
      GSM_PHONE_TD
      ISPS_MARA
what should i to do, make the set type 'COMM_PR_UNIT' , ' COMM_PR_SHTEXT ' and some 'Z_xx_settype'... can be used.

Set Types not in IDOC

Dear Experts,
Currently I am working on an interface between CRM 6.0 and XI to deliver product specific information, including customer fields.
I am using the BDOC type PRODUCT_MAT.
The customer fields have been implemented through set types in transaction comm_attrset. For each set type an API append was created successfully through function u201CSet types/attributesu201D > u201CTransportu201D > u201CSet Typeu201D.
The set types are available in the API structure of the BDOC PRODUCT_MAT (structure COMT_PROD_MATERIAL_BDOC_TAB). But the set types are not available in the generated IDOC (I use the function module CRMXIF_PRODUCT_MATERIAL_SAVE to generate the IDOC...).
Has anybody of you an idea why the set types are not in the IDOC / how to get the set types into the IDOC?

Thanku2019s for your reply. I checked the module CRMXIF_PRODUCT_MATERIAL_SAVE, but it has no output structure named CUSTOMER_SET_DATA which could hold the set types.
Any other hints?
At the moment I am wondering what might be the general process to add set types to IDOCs? Are set types generally also added to IDOCs as soon as they are generated and added to BDOCS, or is there a different mechanism like generating the IDOC structure from the BDOC structure?

Set type COMM_PR_SHTEXT error when creating product

I am trying to create a dummy0 product for untilities serivice.
I get the above error.
if I want assign set type COMM_PR_SHTEXT is not existing the list.
is there any way to overcome this issue?

A settype can only be assigned to one hierarchy per product type. The SAP delivered settypes that you have mentioned above are assigned to category Z_SLA (type Service). Hence you cannot use them in the category
you have defined (type Service).
It is advised to use the predelivered category SRV_ as a base category for creating services. You can assign the other enhancements (settypes) required to the category you have defined and later assign the service
to this category too.
Incase you do require to assign the mentioned settypes to your category then first you will need to regsiter your hierarchy as the base hierarchy in transaction comm_prapplcat.
I would like to point to the steps below as to how you can find out where the set types are being assigned.
1. Goto the transaction -> COMM_ATTRSET -> here enter the
set type as ' COMM_PR_SHTEXT' and now click the 'where used list'(there
is a button in the toolbar for the same)
2. Now you should see a list of all category ids along with
hierarchy id's where the settype is being used.
3. Select any one of the category id.
4. Now goto the trx COMM_HIERARCHY -> and click 'Open Category'
5. Now you can see the usage of the settype in settypes tab.
6. To design the settype -> goto the root category and remove the
same , so that you could now assign it to your own category.

Hi Nitin,
Before creating the Service type of product, you have to define the Base category for Service type product. Generally the category for service will be created under the R3 hierarchy R3PRODSTYPE. You can create this category using the TCode:
COMM_HIERARCHY. Here you have to select the product type as Service and have to assign the set types to the category.
You can create a service product using the transaction : COMMPR01 -> Click on Service ICON -> Select the Category for Service Type. Then fill in the details for Service Product description, Service ID(Based on number range settings for products), Language.
Also fill other details like Base Unit of measure, Pricing condition for different sales areas for the service product.
Since you are using CRM7.0, you can do all these activities using a POWER USER role.

Predifined set types in product category

Hi forum,
the pre defined set types viz comm_pr_shtext,comm_pr_unit.... are not visible in the category(service) which is assigned to the hierarchy.so creation of products under this category is not being allowed by the system.are there any settings to correct this.plz guide.points guaranteed.

hi,
i have replicated the problem in my system, it is working fine.
answer the following:
have you created a category for service for a base hierarchy, say "Service"?
Have you specified the product type while creating this category?
Have you selected/ checked 'Product/object Assignment Possible' ?
have you created another category for your purpose say "Maintenance below the above category "Service"?
if you have done the above steps, you should be able to assign the SAP provided set types to this new category.
otherwise raise a note to SAP.

Hello all, I am working in SRM 7.0 and when I try to replicate service master (DNL_CUST_SRVMAS) I have this error:
Set type COMM_PR_UNIT is not allowed for product type
What can I do? I think that is an ABAP problem

How to add Z set types in Web UI

Hello ,
We have created Z set types with 4/5 attributes & assigned it into a Z category. The Z set types are showing in GUI in individual objects but when trying to add these set types in Web UI it;s not showing either in BSP component PRD01OV or PRDIOOV as available AB's.
Performed following activities
1. identifying enhancement set.
2. Assignement of set types to OV page
3. create config for the set types.
Note: Also tried with enhanced view --> PRDIOOV/CustomHeader for the set types but not showing the AB's.

in the IMPL class of PRDIOOV there is a method:
REATTACH_STATIC_OVW_VIEWS
I do not know why SAP requires this - but you have to redefine this method to attach your Z settype assignmentblock like this:

EEWB (attributes from product set type)

Hi gurus,
I have a question about EEWB. Could you please help me.
There is possibility to add components (attributes from product set type) at item level:
Business object - BUSINESS_TRANSACTION
Extension Type - ADD_NEW_ITEM_COMPONENT.
Ive created an extension with certain set type (it consists of 2 attributes). Everything was ok. New fields with 2 attributes have been added to new tab in a sales orders item.
But then Ive added 1 new attribute to the same set type. So I think this new attribute is to appear on the same tab with 2 other attributes. But it doesn'tt!
Ive regenerated my extension, Ive recalled wizard for this extension. Nothing has changed. There is still only 2 attribute in the tab.
So is it normal situation and is it necessary to create a new extension in order new fields to appear in a tab? Or I can do something else without creating the new extension?
So could you help me and give any solutions. Appreciate any help.

You can achieve this by redefining the method GET_VH_PRODUCT_TYPE() in IMPL class of searchHelp view. Just copy paste the implementation of this method from super class and now control the internal table as per your requirement like
comment out the line APPEND INITIAL LINE TO lt_ddlb. (line no: 47)
as it will add an empty line at the starting of internal of product type values which you dont want. In you case there should be some default value for product type field, so arrange the inetrnal table values according to you requirement and what ever value you want to default for product type that should be the first value in the drop down without empty line and add an empty line at the end of the internal table.
No need to call super->GET_VH_PRODUCT_TYPE() in your implementation as you have written all the required code in your implemenation itself.

Issue in Product Category regd Set Types

I am customizing Product Category ( for CRM 5.0 standalone) for Material using Building Block guides. I have created root hierarchy and category as described. Now I want to create category for Sales products using the root category. While creating this category the BB guide states following customization steps
Basic Data on Category
Product Type     Material
Product / Object Assignment Possible
Product / Object Maintenance: Control Fields
Can Maintain Documents (Click this)
Can Maint. Conditions (click this)
But in my case I am not able to see following in Product / Object Maintenance: Control Fields section (following 2 controls)
Can Maintain Documents
Can Maint. Conditions
Because of this I am not able to get Set types COMM_PR_UNIT, COMM_PR_LGTEXT1, and COMM_PR_SHTEXT
Pl provide guidance and assist this is quite urgent.

2. you have cretad a root category...say CRM_PROD
3. check whether you have created a sub category under the root category.
    to do that... Please click on CRM_PROD.. right click and create category..

   I dont think its possible to replicate material type DIEN from ECC to CRM Service Product.
   Service Products need to created in CRM, from here transfer to ERP. To transfer service product from CRM to ECC, you need to enable upload for Service Product in SPRO.
       Customer Relationship Management -->
             Master Data -->
                    Products -->
                        Settings for Product Type -->
                                Allow Upload for a Product Type.
   Now here select the check box for product type 02(service).
To send product from CRM to ECC, open the product you need to send it to ECC in COMMPR01.
         Go To -> Transfer to ERP. Here give the ECCRFC Destination and mapping material type.

How to change set type attribute of a product

Hi ;
I created additional fields for products by using "COMM_ATTRSET". It created a table and functions but I dont know how to change this additional attributes.I cant use these attribute set functions because i dont know fragment_id yet. I think there must be a function encapsulates them.
Is there any BAPI to change set type attributes?
PS: In forums , I found an FM "COM_PRODUCT_MAINTAIN_MULT_API" but I think it hasnt been used anymore in CRM7.0

but FM 'COM_PRODUCT_UI_MAINTAIN' doesnt have any generic import parameters to send my data to it in form of newly created attribute set type table "ZPRODUCT".
I want to set some fields of ZPRODUCT and i need to send them in this structure, this table has column FRG_ID , if you set an additional parameter for the first time , it generates new GUID..I think 'COM_PRODUCT_UI_MAINTAIN' generates this GUID but i dont know how to use it.
Can you give an example about using this FM?
