Add System center product key to expired evalution of SCVMM 2012

Hi all,
my SCVMM 2012 has expired yesterday, i've just had product key this morning, could you please help me how to activate expired VMM?
Thanks
Truong Van Quang

If the eval has expired then you might not be able to actually use PShell to license the evaluation (you can't with SCOM for example as the SCOM SDK service won't execute the cmdlet).
If that is the case, then the other option is to reset the clock back on the VMM Server to pre-expiry date, run PSHell, and then reset the clock to the correct date. This does work for SCOM.
Cheers

  • Product keys to convert evaluation version of SQL Server Std 2014 to their SQL Server Standard 2014 Volume License

Customer was asked for a product key to convert      evaluation version of SQL Server Std 2014 to their SQL Server Standard      2014
    Volume License.
He cannot download the ISO as he is on a sterile server      on his client’s site.

You may also try and look for PID in to DefaultSetup.ini file in the installation media, which can be found by going to the root folder of the SQL Server set media
on the server or on the DVD, then look for this file in either the x64 or x86 folder.

  • How to hide product key page while installing SQL server 2012 ?

I need to hide the product key page while installing SQL server 2012 enterprise edition
I was trying to use the following command
    Setup.exe /ACTION=Install /FEATURES=SQL /INSTANCENAME=Intuition /PID=<My product Key.
    /IACCEPTSQLSERVERLICENSETERMS
The product key was applied , but the install screen is being shown with the Product key i have provided and it is in editable mode.
Is there any way i can hide this SQL server product key page ?
The reason is we are including SQL setup in our application and as per Microsoft policy we should not reveal the product key to user. If we are able to hide this from installing page , we can hide the installation command in some exe.
Note : Customers need fulfledged versions so we can't install SQLExpress.

    Hello,
Could you try using /Q or /QS parameter?

    Hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 x64 System Recovery Product Key not same as COA sticker

I have restored my Satellite P775-S7232 with Windows 7 Home Premium x64 to the out-of box condition by booting from the Sysyem Recovery Partition. Afterwards during the process of re-installing all my other software, I happened to install Belarc Adivisor and when I ran it, it came up with a different Win7 Product Key than what is shown on the OEM COA sticker on the bottom of the laptop.
What is the reason for this and will either product key work in the future to re-install Windows 7? If for instance, should I decide to re-partition the drive, eliminate the Restore Partition and re-install Win7 x64 from scratch from a Win7 DVD, should I only use the Product Key from the COA sticker? In case anyone is wondering, I have made a complete Toshiba DVD Recovery Set for this system, just in case.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Satellite P775-S7232
The key that keyfinders come up with is the key used by OEMs during installation. It won't work for activatation.
    Magical Jellybean explains it here.
Q: Why doesn't the product key returned match the one on my sticker?
If you purchased your PC with Windows already installed from a large manufacturer such as Dell or HP, it's likely that Windows was installed using an OEM key instead of the actual key for your PC. This saves them (and you) money because it's much more efficient for these large companies to install Windows once and then clone the drive.

  • System center 2012R2 licensing suggestion.

    Hello,
I am reading about system center licensing but getting more and more confused, so any help is greatly appreciated.
I want to implement SCOM to monitor following servers:
win server (90% Virtual machines) - 80 (apprx)
    unix /linux server (50% Virtual machines) -  25
6 Vmware ESX host (3 with 16 and 3 with 24 processor each)
Networking switches and firewall from Dell (looks like scom monitoring is free for them)
and SCCM 2012 R2 with FEP for apprx 1200 WIN 8 client machines
also maintain inventory + FEP for above win servers.
most of my servers have single core CPU, but some of have them 4 and 2-3 have 8 virtual cores.
Now that I understand no license is needed for actual products like SCCM and SCOM, how many and which user cal's do I need in all for my clients together?
    My doubts are:
    - Do I need standard or datacenter approach or can it be mix
    - does the sml's or client machine license covers FEP or is it separate license
    - If I manage a server with both SCCM and SCOM, then 1 need just 1 SMLs not 2.
    - also are they just paper license or do I need to add them in the products.
    Thanks in Advance

    hello,
Sytem Center 2012/2012 R2 is not complexe to understand the licensing model.
for your Servers: you nedd System Center Standard for each physical Server with 2 CPUs to manage 2 VMs.
for example: if you have one Server with 4 CPUs and 6 VMs than you Need 3 System Center Standard or 1 System Center datacenter.
if you have one Server with 2 CPUs and 8 VMs than you Needs: 4 std or 1 datacenter.
    2. for Clients: you Needs 1200 Systen Center Configuration Manager Client mangement License(CML) + 1200 System Center Endpoint Protection as a subscription in open value for example.
    3. if you manage for example one Server with 2 CPUs and 2 VMs with SCCM and SCOM than you Need only 1 System Center Standard while the compenents of System Center 2012 are all included on the std or datacent suites. standalone compenents will no longer
    be sold separately.
    4. you Need to add System Center products on your Server products.
I hope that my Suggestion clear to understand it(my english is not very good!)
    thanks

  • System Center 2012 - 180 days expired

    Hi,I have the following question.
I've installed System Center 2012 evaluation version and it will expire in 90 days.
If I would like to restart again the 180 days, can I uninstall System Center and install again the evaluation version on the server so that the 180 days count starts again?
    Thanks
    Anna

    Hi
For SCOM it would not work, because the licensing data is stored in the database. If you would reinstall the Management Servers it would just pull the data out of the database and therefore it would be expired again.
As far I know the only way to get a Version longer than the eval period is adding a license key

Using the pre-configured VHD might be another Option

    Ouch!
You might get in touch with the people who ran the seminar or someone else who was there.
You are also better off posting in the X-Server forum where you will no doubt find someone who was there.

I have it as an acceptance criteria, but I'm not able to make it work.

So, I would like to hear from a voice of someone who have tried this, and can confirm if it is applicable or not.
ok, I have to ask the stupid question but.... What is wrong with your voice?? The setup tells you it is not supported what more do you want?

  • 2008 R2 64 Bit Product key issue

    Hi Team,
I download Windows 2008 R2 64 bit Evalution (180 days) in microsoft download center . After download comple I try to install this in my Laptop its will asking the product Key.
No option avalible skip the product key. This is very very important for me we are middle of some thing. Can you please provide me the solution for this.
Realy very happy for quick response !
    Thanks !

    Hi,
Changing the product key from the evaluation install to a released channel like Retail or Volume does not remove the timer that is present in the eval edition, this means there are potentially circumstances that could cause the machine to go into a an expired
state since it is evaluation media.  Because that timer is still present, it is not supported to convert from Eval to released product.  the recomendation is to rebuild the server with the correct product key.

So I attempt to install Microsoft System Center and I got something now on a 2012 server called Virtual Machine manager... I am assuming this is not the product I need to manage my windows azure solution so now i'm back to square one. can someone please

what download do I need to install system center on a windows machine to get this working?!?!
    Please help!!

    hi,
It seems like the issue is not related to PAAS. I suggest you could refer to those tutorials

how to monitor your windows azure application with system center 2012 and this blog(https://blogs.technet.com/b/keithmayer/archive/2013/04/01/build-your-private-cloud-in-a-month-new-article-series.aspx#.Ux1QJHnxsic
). You could down load System Center files form
    this page.
By the way, I suggest you could post this issue on azure

  • Monitor server running System Center Essentials

    Hi,
At a customer site they have System Center Essentials, but they wish to use SCOM 2012 R2 for better monitoring purposes. However, they wish to keep SCE for other purposes, such as software deployment.
There are some key features on this server that must be monitored, but it is not possible to install an agent on a server running SCE. I know the workaround with SCSM - removing the console, install the agent and install the console - but it doesn't seem
that I can remove the console only from the SCE server.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Microsoft already announced that System Center Essentials won't have any future release.
It's recommend migrating from System Center Essentials 2010 to Configuration Manager + Operations Manager + VMM

  • Migrating System Center Databases from cluster to Standalone

    Hi
We have been advised to migrate all our System Center SQL DB's (mainly ConfigMgr, OpsMgr, ServiceMgr and Scorch) which are currently running on mostly 4 nodes SQL clusters (with different other business services and impacting the System Center Performance
as Memory and CPU constantly hitting above 90%) to standalone SQL environment.
    OS - Windows Server 2008 R2 / Windows Server 2012

Is this the right SQL architecture for System Center?
How do you optimize this? I ran both queries and it returned zero values.
The DR plan is to implement back up strategy with SCDPM and keep backup copies on Azure Cloud. Plus, we will follow the DR plans for each System Center Product.
