Add to a Photo Stream shared with you

We have set up a photo stream to share among family members. Since I created the photo stream, and then shared it with others, and did not make it public, when I go to add a photo I can see the names of the photo streams which I can choose from. So why when a family mamber who has accepted the invite and who can see the photo stream, NOT add to it? When they go to add a photo, they get no list of available streams shared with them. Am I missing something obvious here? Can multiple people not add to the same stream???

only the owner of the shared stream can add photos to it.  Others can set up their own shared streams for you to view.

  • Photo stream sharing

It seems from everything I read that this new option in IOS6 is all about sharing specific pictures into what Apple calls a "stream".  What I was really hoping for was that I could share my photo stream that is on my phone with my wife's icloud account/devices and my son's.  This way as soon as I take a picture with my iphone my wife and son can see the picture.
Is this available and I am just not finding how to use it or am I looking for something that doesn't exist?  Hate to say this but I thought this feature would compete with the Samsung photo sharing commercials that I constantly see and am getting really tired of watching/ignoring.

If you have the settings for iCloud already configured, there's a sub-secton in the iCloud settings for Photo Stream. In that section there's an option to enable your own Photo Stream and/or enable Shared Photo Stream.
Once you have iCloud configured and enabled Shared Photo Stream you'll be able to select some pictures, choose who to share them with, give the Shared Photo Stream a name and then publish it. You can go back later and add more pictures to that Photo Stream. The Shared Photo Stream does not automatically share your entire Photo Stream.

  • No metadata in Photo Stream shared libraries

After uploading images to a Photo Stream shared library, I noticed they do not inclue the IPTC caption, keywords and other metadata, making the process virtually useless. All images are referenced files in Aperture 3.4.5, under Mac OS 10.8.4, with "write metadata to masters" applied. How can you include metadata in Photo Stream shared libraries?
    Thanks!

    Eric,
Now I see - you are asking about "Shared Photo Stream" - I was confused by shared "libraries".
With the "Shared PhotoStream" the only data I am receiving from friends are the EXIF tags - GPS, lens, aperture, etc, none of the IPTC.
When I want to send annotations, I add a comment by pressing the call out badge.
My standard IPTC metedata is also absent after choosing the "Export > Version…" command, and opening the file in the Preview app.
Do you mean, when you are exporting an image from the Photo Straem, or any image? With File > Export > Versions and exporting an image from the library with IPTC as a jpeg, these tags will all show in Previews Inspector.

How do I add subscribers to photo stream in iPhoto 9.4.3? Help says to choose iCloud in the source list, but my source list does not have that option, it simply says Web and under that.... Photo stream.

  • Why can't I share a photo stream album with all of my contacts?

I have been able to share one photo stream album with my sister who has an iPhone. When I try to share another album with both a friend who has an iPhone and another sister who does not have an iPhone, their names are greyed out in my contact list. Looking over my contact list for sharing photo stream albums, half of my contacts are normal, and the other half are greyed out. Any suggestions on how I can remedy this nd share with everyone in my contact list?

For users who have iOS devices, they get a direct connection to the shared stream.  For others, they need to get an email with a link that they use in a browser.  Not too clear on the details myself, but the following link should provide the answers you need.

I have Photo Stream enabled with Automatic downloads enabled. Yet when I try to join a Photo stream I get referred to The I Cloud start support page - this happens for both my Mac and my IPad. What can I do?

The following is from this Apple Document: iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
What do I need to use Photo Stream?
To use Photo Stream, including Shared Photo Streams, you need an iCloud account, compatible devices, and up-to-date software:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6.0 or later
Mac with OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 or later and iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later
PC with Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and the iCloud Control Panel 2.1 or later for Windows
Apple TV (2nd generation) with Software Update 5.1 or later
You can still use Photo Stream without Shared Photo Streams if your devices meet these requirements:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5.1 or later
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and iPhoto 9.2.2 or Aperture 3.2.3 or later
PC with Windows 7 or Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and the iCloud Control Panel v2.0 or later for Windows
Apple TV (2nd generation) with Software Update 5.0 or later
For complete iCloud setup instructions, visit How to set up iCloud.
You need Mt. Lion in order to use Shared Photo Streams.

  • Sharepoint foundation 2013 : After doing backup cannot access the site "Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you"

I am using SharePoint Foundation 2013 , i have backed up the site using powershell with the following command:
    -backup-spsite -identity http://dmsserver/sites/demo/ -path C:\SPSiteBackup.bak
After backup finished, i can't access the site, the message "Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you" appears, even the site administrator collection is configured coorectly, with the  Administrator account.
    Whats the problem?
    Please Advice.

    Hi husseinsa,
According to your description, my understanding is that you could not access the site after backing up the site collection in SharePoint 2013 Foundation.
Could you access other sites at the same site collection?
Let’s do a troubleshooting for this issue:
Please delete the IE cache:  IE options->General->Delete, select all checkboxes, and click Delete.
Go to CA->Application Management->Manage web applications, select the web application which hosts the problematic site .
Click Permisson Policy, make sure there are not any deny policies for site collection administrator and site collection auditor.
Back to the web application list page, click User Policy, check whether there are any user policies for denying permissions.
Change the site collection administrator or add a secondary site collection administrator in CA, then use the new site collection administrator to log in the site, compare the result.
Open IIS, expand the server, and click application pools.
Find the problematic web application pool, make the identity of the pool is correct, then do an IISRESET, compare the result.
If this issue still exists, please check the log file to find more information about this issue. The path of the log file is
    : C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS.
Or you can use Event Viewer(Start->Run->event viewer) to find the log.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Wendy

  • HT5902 Photo stream sharing w/iPhone 4S & iPad mini

My new iPad mini is not showing the photos from my iPhone4S . I have the cloud settings on for photo stream sharing on both the iPhone  4 and the iPad mini. What am I doing wrong? I did reboot both devices.
    Thank you!

Photostream only shows photos taken after Photostream is turned on. Also photos are not added to Photostream until the Camera app is exited.

  • Download Photo from Photo Stream shared by others

How can I download the photos from Photo Stream shared by my friend to my iPhoto Library?

I could not find the photos in both "Photos" view or "Event" view.
You have to look in the "iCloud" view. It is in the "Shared" section. This section may be hidden. Hover the mouse to the right of the caption "Shared". there is a hidden Show/Hide control.

  • Photo stream sharing in iPhoto 9.3.2

Maybe I'm just confused ... But isn't Mountain Lion and this iPhoto update supposed to support Photo Stream Sharing? Photo Stream seems to work the same as it always has, i.e. just as a 30 day distribution channel to all of my devices.
Anybody know how to enable sharing the photo stream from within iPhoto? It doesn't seem particularly intuive assuming e feature is enabled. Is it a setting in Mountain Lion perhaps?

    http://www.apple.com/icloud/coming-soon/
The iCloud coming soon link under the Shared Photo Streams mentions "Friends using iCloud on an iOS 6 device or a Mac running Mountain Lion get the photos delivered immediately in the Photos app or iPhoto."
Fingers crossed this is referring to that sharded photo streams will automatically load into Photos...

  • How quickly does photo stream sync for you?

how quickly does photo stream sync for you?

I have seen some posts floating about here complaining that photos don't or at least don't immediately sync to all devices. I think a small number of these people may not realise that syncing requires wifi and not 3G, one must also remember this community is like a doctors surgery, it is where people come if they have aches and pains.

  • How does photo metadata get uploaded to shared Photo Stream along with the photos?

Performed upgrade to Mountain Lion so I could share Photo Streams with other people,. Trouble is all the naming, descriptions, locations of the photos do not show up in Photo Stream. Is there a way to enable this or is it just not possible?
I am migrating from sharing Picasa Web Albums to Photo Stream and would like to have all the metadata along with the photos...
I was not sure where to post this question as it is related to iCloud, iPhoto, OS X Mountain Lion, etc. The shared Photo Stream feature appeared in my version of iPhoto '11 (version 9.4.2) only after the upgrade to Mountain Lion.

Photo Stream only uses the file names and what you're changing is the Title, not file name.  To get the title to be the file hame you have to export the photo out of iPhoto via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu with the option to use the title as the new file name.
Send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.

  • Photo stream sharing? Where do you subscribe to other's photos?

Found someone else's pics on my iPad. How did this happen?

I read in the icloud guide about the photo stream. It says to enter someone's email to share photos with them...My daughter is two. Is there another way she could have subscribed?

  • Photo Stream Sharing and Apple IDs?

In order to share a Photo Stream so that it automatically keeps friends and family updated, the person invited to the stream must have an Apple product as well as an Apple ID related e-mail address.
Most Apple IDs are the same as Apple e-mail addresses. However, do I need their actual Apple ID primary e-mail, or will Photo Sharing accept any Apple ID associated e-mail?
According to this article, http://support.apple.com/kb/HE68 I should be able to associate multiple e-mail addresses with my Apple ID after I have verified a primary e-mail address, and then theoretically use any of them to invite that person to a photo stream.
Anybody know if this is the case?
Unfortunately, you cannot add one of your own aliases or alternate e-mail addresses to a shared stream, so I have no way to test this ...

My Apple ID and iCloud account email are, for some reason, different -- somehow, iCloud still has a @me.com email address listed as my account email, whereas the rest of Apple services correctly shows the primary email for my Apple ID.
Perhaps this is why, but I can't receive any Photo Stream invitations sent to my Apple ID / primary email.  I only see the invites when they are sent to the old @me.com address listed under iCloud, or to the @icloud.com address that was automatically assigned when me.com transitioned to icloud.com.
Can anyone suggest a way I can fix this situation?  Hopefully I should be able to change the email address associated with my icloud.com account to match my Apple ID primary email, but I can't figure out a way to do this.
