ADD to a selection without deselecting existing selections?

I've searched for a while and I haven't found anything about this...I can't fathom that I'm the only one who's ever wanted to know this, but oh well...
1.) You've got a large clustered group of 100 small shapes, and you've selected the 2/3 of them on the left.
2.) Drag a selection over the 2/3 on the right (with 1/3 overlap in the middle)
3.) You have now selected the previously unselected shapes, but you've also deselected the 1/3 in the middle that you already had selected before.
Is there a way to simply ADD to a selection without deselecting any overlap?
(I am not looking for alternate solutions, I know I can select things individually/etc)

As I said in the last line of the original post, I'm not looking for alternative solutions. I am very much aware that you can select things individually.
So I'm assuming the answer to this question is "no"?
It would be pretty helpful if you could do something like this in Illustrator, just as you can with AutoCad/Vectorworks/Rhino, and essentially every other vector graphics program.
I realize from my example it doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but it can be really annoying in some particular instances. I won't contrive an example, you'll just have to take my word for it. It would be nice if they could add a Ctrl+Shift (or something) function that would do this in CS6.

How do I add photos to my iPhone without deleting the existing ones on the phone if the original photos on my desktop PC have been destroyed by hard drive crash?
Basically, I want to insert new photos on to my iPhone. But, if I do a synch, it will delete my old photos, which now exist only on the iPhone itself.

You don't. The iphone is nota storage device.
It simply mirrors the selected content from your computer.
If it is not on the computer, then it is not on the iphone. Sorry.
Your pics should have been included in your regular back up copy of your computer file/docs/pics/music/etc.
If for some reason you did not backup your pics ( not good), then you can e-mail the pics to yourself.

Adding to ipod from alternative iTunes catalogue without erasing existing

Is it possible to add music to ipod without erasing existing content that was synced from another PC.
So far i have been alerted that if i sync any new material from my list it will automatically erase what my daughter already has on her ipod.

Connect your iPod to your computer. How to extend data selection to the existing delta update without disturbin

Is there any way to extend data selection to the existing delta update with out disturbing the delta mechanism? I mean, is there anyway to add new delta init for the new data selection to the existing delta update without disturbing?

the scenario is we have existing delta, let's say, for the 2 company codes 0001 and 0002. I want to extract delta for the company code 0003 without disturbing the existing delta mechanism. I mean to say I want to extend the data selection for the existing delta from 2 comp codes (0001, 0002) to 3 company codes (0001,0002 & 0003) without disturbing the delta mechanism.

Selection tool in Illustrator is inconsistent! Shift select to add, alt select to deselect!

Selection tool seems to be a popular topic in the feature request forums, but I didn't find anyone complaining about exactly the same thing I am going to suggest.
If I want to select a bunch of points with the Direct selection tool I usually drag a marquee to start selecting, but often am not able to select all the points I want in one move, so I have to shift drag to select additional points. This is when the annyoing thing happens. Points that are previously selected becomes deselected if I drag over them again, while points that where not selected becomes selected. This is confusing and feels quite messy. The inconsistency I am talking about happens when I use the lasso tool instead. Now I can deselect with Alt and add to selection with Shift (good behaviour!) This is also the way it works in Photoshop.
Shift select to add, alt select to deselect! This should be the behaviour for all selection tools in all Adobe programs! It would be much more consistent with Photoshop as well. Right now using the alt-modifier with the Direct selection tool gives you the group select tool instead, so that would have to change. Maybe you can add an option for this old behavour in preferences for lecacy reasons...
If this option is somehow possible allready then I might be missing something, but I didn't find anything like that in preferences.

Make sure Object Selection by Path Only is turned off.
If that does not help, reset your preferences.

if you want to see the result it should run first.
after adding abap program to process chain, activate it.
now right click on process chain start --> display variant --> change selection.
check what is the start condition, if it is nto in immediate then comback
click on edit --> change selection
select immediate --> unchek the periodic values. and save. come back
again click on save. come back.
now schedule your process chain by clikc on clock symbol.
after successfull completion of your process chain you can check in SE16

Adding 2 more rows to a select without inserting rows to base table

hello all,
i have a below simple select statement which is querying a table.
select * from STUDY_SCHED_INTERVAL_TEMP
where STUDY_KEY = 1063;
but here is the situations. As you can see its returning 7 rows. But i need to add
2 more rows..with everything else default value or what exist... except adding 2 more rows.
i cannot insert into base table. I want my end results to increment by 2 days in
measurement_date_Taken to 01-apr-09....so basically measurement_date_taken should
end at study_end_Date...
IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT INSERTING ROWS INTO THE TABLE AND JUST PLAYIHY AROUND WITH
THE SELECT STATEMENT??

Well, I'm not sure if this query looks as good as my lawn, but seems to work anyway ;)
I've used the 'simplified version', but the principle should work for your table to, S2K.
As Frank already pointed out (and I stumbled upon it while clunging): you just select your already existing rows and union them with the 'missing records', you calculate the number of days you're 'missing' based on the study_end_date:

How to add a new Field in the Dynamic Selection screen section.

There is a requirement in which I need to add a field in existing program of dynamic selections.
I need to add a field KNKK-DBRTG (Customer Rating) in dynamic selections screen of some existing report
which has a dynamic selection screen with other fields like customer account, company code etc. Along with this i need to add Customer rating field also in the selection screen.
I have used GET KNKK statement to select this in the Dynamic selection screen. But I need to make it appear
on the screen.
LDB used is the Customer Database.
I have added GET KNKK statement after GET KNA1 statement.
Can any one help me how we can make this rating field appear in the selection screen.
With the GET statement Credit control area Fields can be selected in the selection screen but I have to permanantly add the field in the selection screen.

So you need that this new field have data in old records?
1.- If you are in BI 7.0 and the logic or data for that New field are in the same Dimension, you can use a Remodeling to fill it. I mean if you want if you want to load from a Master Data from other InfoObject in the same Dim.
2.- If condition "1" is not yours.
First add the new field, then create a Backup Cube (both cubes with the new field) and make a full update with all information in the original Cube. The new field willl be empty in both cubes.
Create an UR from BackUp_Cube to Original_Cube with all direct mapping and create a logic in the Start Routine of the UR (modiying the data_package) you can look for the data in the DSO that you often use to load.
To do that both cubes have to be Datasources ( right click on Cube-> aditional function-> and I think is "Extract Datasource")

Friends, I have a Loop that it inserts in a table that does not possess indice. When I to apply one SELECT, the result will be always the same? This sequencia is important for me. SELECT without ORDER BY functions as a LIFO (stack - Last In, First Out) or FIFO (list/line - First In, First Out)?
Example:

x number := 1;

exit when (x = 11);
insert into table1 (field1) values (x);
x: = x + 1;

When I will be to apply SELECT in the table ' table1 ' without ODER BY, which result that always will be returned?
I) 1, 2, 3, ..., 10?
or will be able to come in another order?
II) 10, ..., 3, 2, 1

Oracle does not guarantee the rows order when ORDER BY is not specified.
From Oracle documentation :
order_by_clause
Use the ORDER BY clause to order rows returned by the statement. Without an order_by_clause, no guarantee exists that the same query executed more than once will retrieve rows in the same order.

Can anyone help with changing colors without making a selection

I've been trying to work the the script below. All the front most paths are black I want to change them all to yellow without having to select them first.

A couple of pointers from one novice to another… With script there is NO need to deal with 'selections' to change the writeable properties of any object you simply need reference them with your code as you have done above… You can select art and you can deal with user selected art should you wish but as a rule for all else just target the object with your syntax… The best thing to do is to get your code working… as you know the current state to be ( a document open with you test objects in it ) once you have this then add to it by wrapping your conditionals around this… For example…

There is no point in getting the path items of the active document then checking later if there is a doc… Just a case of putting things in there respective order…
The property filled… I only use to check the state, giving an object a fill will automatically update this… So here are your lines with a little reshuffle and a loop example…

If it is ABAP query there are 2 ways.
You can create at infoset level : In sq02 enter your infoset name press change button.press shift+ F8 there you can find the "Selections"   tab ,press.In that you can find creat button press.
Enter name of the parameter name .Here you will find 2 radio buttons
1. Select-options 2. parameters
select the radio button whichever you want press enter.
In net screen give "Description" "Selection text"   and there you will find 3 formats for parameters.
1. Type   --if your parameter is your own defined ex : type c length 12
2. like --if it is database field structure Ex: mara-matnr.
enter any one.enter & save.

Setting initial UIPickerView selection without click on iPhone

Is there a way to set the initial selection of a UIPickerView without generating the selection click? For example, I have a UIPickerView with 3 rows, and I want the 2nd row to be selected when the app starts. Right now, I'm calling this during initialization:
picker selectRow:1 inComponent:0 animated:NO
but it generates the same sound that plays when a user selects a row. The only way I've found so far to silently set the default selection relies on the undocumented method setSoundsEnabled.

I've never read about any other solution besides setSoundsEnabled except for persuading the user to turn key clicks off in the Settings panel. But you reminded me of an idea I meant to try (atm all I have is a 1st gen touch and no ear phone plug).
Try this if you haven't already: Create a UIPickerView in code, set only the dataSource, then select the rows you want. Then set the delegate and add the picker to a content view. If it still clicks prior to becomming visible, see if setting its hidden, alpha, or userInteractionEnabled properties has any effect. It doesn't make a lot of sense for an invisible picker to click, so I'm hoping some combination of circumstances will convince it that a click is inappropriate.
If there's nothing in that idea, I'm afraid I can't help.

HOW CAN I DELETE AN EVENT WITHOUT HAVING TO SELECTING IT FROM THE LIBRARY?

I have a big problem.
I want to delete an entire event from my library because everytime I select it imovie freezes and then close itself up. So I have to re-open imovie again. And when I want to select that particular event again the same problem occures. So I can not select that particular event. Therefore I can take NO action on this event.
HOW CAN I DELETE AN EVENT WITHOUT HAVING TO SELECTING IT FROM THE LIBRARY?
(Everytime I select it imovie closes itself up)
All other events work fine. I believe The footage had a problem from capturing. but now it's in my computer and i can't open it.
Please help me, I don't need this event, I can't open it therefore I can't use it and it takes place on my hardrive for nothing.

One can delete it from one's computer. In the finder go to homeuser, movies, imovie events, delete the footage.
Then reopen iMovie and see if that helps.
