  • Unusual behavior of View selector with the report level 'Add to Briefing Bo

    Hi All,
With the report level ‘Add to Briefing Book’ link, we came across an unusual behavior of View selector in a report.
The Briefing Book saves only the default view from View selector in an Updatable Content type, however it behaves perfectly fine when a Snapshot type is selected for saving in Briefing book.
Has anyone faced similar behaviour, is there any fix?

  • Download/Copy/Print Report Links

    Hi,
I have set up a link to a report(briefing book navigation) in a dashboard, when I click on the link to the report it opens up in a new window. However the download/copy/print options are missing in the report.
I checked the original saved report and see these options available there but these do no show up when opening the report from the dashboard.
Can anyone suggest why this maybe the case?
    Thanks

    Hi Srikanth,
I am actually watching this thread looks which is very interesting and i too tried the same.
    1. If we use the briefing book link we get the return and add the briefing book link option, when we do this as you explained then we will not be able to get the return link to return to the original place.
Sorry if i was wrong....please correct me.
    2. if we use this in this way then whats the diff between the guided navigation link and Briefing book link in the dashboard objects to navigate from one page to another.
Iam new to OBIEE so, very interested to know more about each concept.
Could you please calrify little more?
Thank you very much in advance.

  • Role based Report Links

    Hi All,
I have created three roles A,B,C and some reports.
How can I restrict report links as
Role A- Analyze, Edit, Refresh, Print, Export, Add to Briefing Book, Copy
Role B- Analyze, Refresh, Export, Add to Briefing Book
    Role C- Analyze, Refresh
Help me as soon as possible.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
create three different sections for these reports in dashboard edit. now
provide access to section 1 for Role A
provide access to section 2 for Role B
provide access to section 3 for Role C
provide respective previlleges as per your req in admin manage previlleges and also in properties of report in dashboard section.
so each Role C user can only see section 3 in dashboard and he will have only access to Analyze, Refresh
    got it?
    Thanks
    Jay.

  • Briefing Book Report Ignoring Filtered Data Set

    Hello,
I have a simple rpeort that breaks down total sickness by month. There are 2 DB prompts (set to page), start date & end date. If I run the report from January to June and then add it to my briefing book, the briefing book returns all 12 months!
Can anyone suggest why this is happening and a possible resolution please???

  • Briefing Book Title shows the name of the Analysis along with Report Name

    Hi,
When I add a report to the briefing books, The title of the PDF document shows the report name and below that it also shows the name of the analysis. Normally we save our analysis with some standard naming conventions having some special characters. Client does not need that name in the PDF.
How can I stop the Analysis Name to appear on the briefing book?
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Gaurav A.

That's a great question, and it seems like something that should be standard with iCal.
The only thing I could think of would be to add the patient as an invitee, but that still wouldn't solve the problem of having their name be the title of the appointment. But the auto-complete function is there.
The other option (which is more convoluded) would be to use Filemaker Pro. It is extremely powerful and customizable and there are plenty of people out there who know how to develop for it. This option would be more expensive, but it could also be custom-tailored to your needs.
Those aren't great answers so I'm interested to see what others say. I'd like to implement it into my own iCal app.

  • Adding Custom "Report Links"

Does anyone know how to add custom "Report Links" to OBIEE? Right now the standard report links available are "Modify", "Refresh", "Printer Friendly", "Download", "Addd to Briefing Book", and "Copy". I want add another option called "Detailed Report" and have it appear along side all the other report links.
    Is this possible?
    -Joe

I am not aware of a "best practice" for doing exactly what you wish to do. If you have a large number of reports and you wish all to have a "summary" or "detail" that the user can choose, one way to have this functionality is to build a "table of contents" dashboard page composed of "link or image" objects that have, as titles, "Report1 -- Summary" and next to it "Report1 -- Detail" and have them all listed next to each other in column form.
The user can then right off choose if he/she wishes to see the summary version or detailed version of any report and when opening them up (in a new window) can decide whether to print, download, etc. This gives an overall view of all your reports so the user can see everything and at the same time choose between what version of the report he/she wants to view.
As far as "best practices" in general, I have this book which has some good tips:

  • Interactivity within Briefing Book Reader

I was wondering if you create a briefing book .sbb file which is a snapshot of a dashboard, whether there is an option to be able to drill into some of the graphs on the dashboard to their detail level when viewing in the briefing book reader.
For example, if I have a graph on a dashboard and there is a navigation link on one of the measures to be able to drill into a detail report, how do I set up the briefing book to be able to have the same interactivity as the dashboard it came from. Or is the best practice to keep adding pages to the briefing book and view them one at a time without any user interactivity.
    Thanks.

Briefing book primarily consists of static reports. So you need to add all the pages to the briefing book. But if you want the same amount of interactivity you can use disconnected analytics. I have blogged about it today here http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/11/23/oracle-bi-ee-101332-working-with-disconnected-analytics-sadis-utility/ if you quickly want to test how it works.

  • How to create a briefing book in Shared Folders

    Hello,
Firstly, can the subject of this thread be achieved?
I am able to create a briefing book (within My Briefing Books) and use delivers to deliver it to myself. However, I receive the access denied error message when trying to send the same BB to a user.
I have created a folder within the shared folder area and copied my BB to the folder. I have added this user to the presentation server administrators group and tried using delivers to deliver the BB from the shared folder, but alas it deosnt work which suggests the BB in essence doesnt exist in the shared folder.
Anyway, can anyone let me know if it can be done, if so, how is it done?

  • Displaying images in Briefing Book

    Hi,
We are using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition v10.1.3.4.
In OBIEE Answers, we have two reports and one dashboard page that hold these two reports. It is to be noted that the measure columns in both the reports have some images based upon the criteria specified in "Conditional Formatting" for the measure columns.
With the above setup in place, here is the problem scenario:
When we create a Briefing Book and individually add the two reports to it, all works fine. The display generated by "Get Now" and "Print Now" buttons in the briefing book is OK.
However, if we create a Briefing Book and add the dashboard that contains the two reports (and not the reports themselves), then the display that is generated using the "Get Now" and "Print Now" buttons does not show the images in the measure columns - instead it shows a red X mark in place of the images.
If we add either of the report to this briefing book now, the red X marks are replaced by the corresponding images for that report.
In essence, we are not being able to display the images in the measure columns if we add the dashboard page (containg the reports) to the briefing book rather than adding the reports themselves.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Piyush

a few points that i can check
If you can see it in RRP3 then you should also be able to see the sales orders in the Standard SAP planing book based on 9ASNP94 planning area. can you see this?
if so .. your planning area is not set right
check if you have intialized the planning area and if your planning book has the required KF setup properly and similar to what you have set up in the Standard book
Also check if your MPOS that is attached to the new planning area is set up correctly
another point to check is if your selection id is properly selected when you load on to the planning area

  • Problem with Briefing Books and iBots

I have a question about the usage of Briefing Books and iBots:
In my Briefing Book there are different analysis, some with tables and others with charts and graphs.
The problem is, when I send this Briefing Book to my email by iBot, then the file attached to the email does not contain the charts anymore. There are just the tables left. When I watch the same Briefing Book directly in Answers, everything is displayed all right.
Does anyone know, why this happens.

    Hi there
If the page is not actually inside of a Book, the WebHelp generation process will sense that.
If you want a Book, try right-clicking the page in the TOC editor and choose "Create Book from Page". This should create a book with the page inside it. Of course both will have the same name, so you may need to rename the Book. Or rename the page. Your choice.
    Cheers... Rick

Supposing there are many detailed reports, then maintaining dashboard pages would be difficult rite!!Except he didn't say he has many reports. Solutions that are perfectly reasonable in one scenaro may prove onerous or even incorrect in another. Supppose someone simply wrote, "How can I change the default number of rows that display in a Table?" Wouldn't the first answer be to go to Table>Properties and change it there? But if the OP then said, "But I have 300 reports!" Well, that extra parameter would change the answer. But if he doesn't explain exactly what the conditions are, he may not get the best answer. I have seen this many times in this forum. Some are very good in describing their problems. Others expect us to read their minds. • Accurate OM booked orders report

My objective is to develop a Booked Orders Report in Discoverer and I'm pretty new to Discoverer 10g.
My logic to property display the records is -- for each order in OM that header status is booked, determine if ANY lines are still open by looking at the Open Flag and if any line is still open, display all lines associated with that order.
example: SO# 100 has 4 lines where line 1 is open awaiting shipping (open_flag = 'Yes') and other 3 are closed (open_flag = 'No').
maybe I'm going about this the long way so if you know a cleaner way, please share....
The best logic in discoverer that I can come up with (based on the various line status fields) is that I can build a new calculation called l_open_flag that is setup as CASE WHEN "Order Lines".Open Flag = 'Yes' THEN '1' ELSE '0' and when I run the discoverer report, the l_open_flag is working and returning 1 or 0 as expected for each line.
The next step is to setup a second calculation to sum the l_open_flag called sum_l_open_flag and add a second non-display parameter to display any order where header level status is 'booked' and the sum_l_open_flag > 0.
the problem is that when I try to sum l_open_flag discoverer throws up a warning that I'm combining detail data point and an aggregated data point -- which I agree.
After adding the new condition to include orders where sum_l_open_flag > 0, I still only get just the one line item out of the 4 lines on the order that is still open.
Hope this is clear like oracle and thanks,
    Rob

    Hi rob,
From your example i understood is if open_flag=Yes it is open and when No then it is closed.Your going in the right path by taking the case as you mentioned.
But why are you taking the second condition sum(l_open_flag).definately it will throw warning. Why do you need this condition? Can you be clearer
I sugest you take a second calculation as calculation2=l_open_flag>0,this suggests that when you are giving zero(0) it says that you want all closed sales orders.
Anything more can you give more explanation.
    Best Wishes,
    Kranthi.

        End With
        CR.ReportSource = reportSales    Call CR.ViewReport    Screen.MousePointer = vbDefault
    thanks!!!

If you still have a working install you can use regedit to get the keycode from the Local Machine key. Other than that you'll have to find the original CD packaging where you'll find the keycode on the packaging. Or check with your accounting department, they may have received an invoice with the keycode on it, I don't think we did that but worth trying.
