Add (to dictionary) is grayed out in Word 2008 :o(
I have Word 2008 for Mac. I love the "add" to dictionary feature in the spell check but in mine, it's GRAYED OUT. Why? How can I enable this? I'm sick of "ignoring" my last name and other words I often use!

Thanks! I found the answer on that website. Here it is:
You'll need to set up a custom dictionary first. On the word you'd like to add to your custom dictionary, do a right-click or Control+click, select Spelling, and in the Spelling and Grammar dialog click Options. The Spelling and Grammar preferences pane should be displayed. For Custom Dictionaries, click on the Dictionaries button, put a check mark in the Custom Dictionary item box, and OK your way out of there.
Now you should be able to add any "misspelled" words to your custom dictionary.

Ok, so let's sum-up:
- You want to resize your Windows system partition (say C: )
- you failed resizing using Diskpart
- you failed resizing using a third-party server running Windows 2008 and its disk management tool (diskmgmt.msc)
- you failed resizing using Dell Extpart ...
- You have no credit to buy some EaseUS/Acronis/Partition Magic ... stuff
Then the only reliable (and last) solution you have is using Linux GParted, regardless your Partion is physical or virtual;
- if your partition is physical, good for you, boot on the Gparted CD and that would do the trick... just resize, that's a 2 mn Job.
- if your partition is a vmdk disk (VMWare), so you have to tweak your VM forcing it to boot on the GParted .ISO file (to do so: press the F2 key very quickly, as soon as the VM starts). From there, go to the Boot Option of the VM BIOS and select the CD-ROM
as the primary boot disk.
Reboot your VM, now it will automatically boot on GParted, and there you are : you CAN resize your Volume this way, it does work, the procedure is the same as if you resized a physical partition. When done, select 'Apply' and shut down your VM.
In VMWare, go back to the boot option and remove the Gparted "ISO" file from the boot menu (this will let Windows boot again).
Start your VM... Logon Windows... and now you can see your partition is successfuly resized.

Cannot add new printer, selection grayed out
I have been using a brother MFC-9420CN. I have been sharing this printer with a windows computer over a wireless network. It has worked flawlessly since I hooked it up. After the last 10.4.6 update for the OS the printer no longer works. I first noticed it when I selected print from a menu. The top selection said the printer name but there was a grayed question mark next to it. I opened the printer utility. The printer was there but would not work. So I removed it from the list and went to add it once again. When I clicked on add a new menu popped up. The menu searched for new drivers and then stopped. On the bottom of the menu is three selections. One for name, one for location and one for print using. They are all grayed out. Because there is no selection in the above menu for me to choose. I tried deleting all the brother print drivers in /library/printer/brother folder. Then I reinstalled. Same problem. I cannot selet a printer now. I also tried hooking it up diretly and nothing happened. I then tried the IP printer selection. At the bottom there is a print using selection. It shows the brother cups driver but when selected and then I choose to add it a message comes up that says "An error occured while trying to add the selected printer error code 50" The printer still works over the wirless connection on the windows computer. mac mini Mac OS X (10.4.6) 1 gig RamI found a work around for this matter. Most of the time, I use spotlight to remove anything on the hard drive that has anything to do with "Brother Printers" Then I reload the CD that came with the printer and it works ok. Every now and again if I cancel the print job on the printer the computer will do this hiccup and say there is no printer. This is my work around.

Can't add connection. + sign grayed out.

I am running IIS on a remote machine on the network. My site, files, and db file is also located on this remote machine. DW CS4 is running locally.
I setup the SystemDNS for the access db file. However, I am not able to create a connection to any database because the little '+' sign on the Databases palette is grayed out. Any idea why?

It's not much consolation to you now, but Adobe announced it was going to drop support for ASP.NET way back in August 2007, more than a year before the release of Dreamweaver CS4. The issue was also discussed many times in this forum. -

HansOK, I found the solution myself. In Win 7 you have to set the UAC notify slider to the lowest level 9=(never notifY) just for the add on process.

Add WPS Printer ALWAYs grayed out
This is driving me nuts. I've searched high and low and can't figure out how to get this "Add WPS Printer..." menu item to light up. I'm following the (very poorly documented) proceedure provided by Canon for my Pixma Pro-100. What am I missing?
I was able to get it to ungray out by clicking on the AirPort Extreme and authenticating. Then it appeared.
I had to do it a few times, and the sequence that seemed to work was starting WPS on the router first, then starting the search on the printer. -
Hi - bit of an odd one. I love the facebook integration in iphoto11 but at the moment i have an issue.
I want to add a few more photos from a recent holiday to an album on facebook - the album was created in iPhoto and contains 224 pictures - i want to add a few more, but if i select some (could be 1, could be 4 or more - ive tried a few combinations) the particular album i want to add them to is grayed out (greyed out for us brits) - any ideas why?
the other albums are 'available' or i could create a new album - but not add to the one i want to !

I've got many cd's that I've ripped to Itunes. When I try to click "add album artwork" I get an error message (609) from itunes that it can't be found. So when I try to manually add it it is grayed out.

I updated my mini, but some of my apps are no longer available. One of them I purchased from the Apple store. They are grayed out with the word "waiting" underneath the app. Any suggestions?
If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

So, I have had an Ipod touch (fourth generation) for a little less than a year now, and I have never had any problems with it until the latest version of itunes came out. Now, my ipod never can sync (I left it up for an hour before and it only got to step 2 out of 7), and I can't add any more music to my ipod! To make it worse, about 100 songs that I had deleted off my ipod, but could still be found in my itunes library, appeared again on my ipod! But, they are grayed out and I can't listen to them so they just take up space.

Configuring my laptop to access a new airport express plugged in one floor below me. great signal connection works fine, but of course it isn't forwarding ports i want... so I go to set it up... now, the owner of the house set it up first, but he told me the password so I could futz with it... now when i pull up the base station config in airport admin, the relevant options are grayed out! The whole section in which default host option is located is grayed out, as are all the buttons e.g. 'add' on the forward ports tab! I've tried doing all the tricks I can think of; if anyone has any insight as to where to look to fix this, I'd appreciate it enorm.

Launch the Terminal app in /Applications/Utilities, copy and paste the first one into the window that pops up, and hit the return key. When the Password: prompt pops up, carefully type in your admin password, since nothing shows on the screen, and hit the return key. Copy & paste the other two, one at a time, following each with hitting the return key. You won't get the password prompt, since the initial one's good for five minutes.
Quit the Terminal app and you should be able to read and write to the ext HD.

Pro 100 Won't Print Borderless
I've tried printing out of image garden, out of InDesign, out of Photoshop, out of Illustator, as a PDF but nothing seems to make my printer want to print borderless. I've tried A4, 5 x 7, custom paper sizes, images that are exactly the size of the p
