Add users manually to turnkey installation

Hi,
Just installed the turnkey Adobe WF. How do i add users manually? Is the existence of an AD/LDAP instance to backup a domain a must?
If not how do I add users to the default domain that comes setup with the turnkey installation.
If LDAP is the only I understand why that is important in enterprise scenarios but there should have been a simple way to add users for testing purposes.
thx,
CR

Only LDAP user is going to work out ..
You can get only one default Administrator user..

    Hi
We're recently created a CreateUser QPAC that allows you to create a local user (ie in the DefaultDomain, rather than attached to an LDAP domain). It's not yet available for download (still in beta), but I can send you a copy.
We've also created CreateLocalGroup and AssignUserToGroup.
Please email me at: htreisman at avoka.com for download location.

  • Cannot add users to Calendar Server

Cannot add users to Calendar Server
    <P>
You may get the following error when you try to add users to a new
    installation of Calendar Server 3.0:
    <P>
    Could not bind as [nsCalXItemId=10000:00001, o=Ace Industry,c=US].<br>
Create ObjectClass for user [cn=John Doe, o=Ace Industry, c=US]... failed.
    <P>
This is an inconsistent problem that we are trying to duplicate on a
regular basis. There are a few solutions:
    <P>
    1) Create another node. This seems to work every time.<br>
    2) Deinstall the Calendar Server completely and reinstall. Be VERY
careful of the Directory Server URL definition.

What printer model is it? I ask, because often manufacturers provide USB-only drivers for USB-only printers - for Macs, that is. In other words, if you know about CUPS from using Macs and linux, the manufacturers actually provide drivers with the comm protocol built-in, rather than make use of the USB "backend" available from CUPS. These are called "monolithic" drivers - they don't follow the unix/linux/CUPS concept of making use of already-provided modules.

  • Error in creating Java Users during Solution Manager installation

    Hi gurus,
First time trying to install SAP.
    Red Hat Linux 4
    Oracle
    jdk 1.4.2_11
While installing the Solution Manager, it errored when it was creating Java Users, SAPJSF, J2EE_ADMIN and J2EE_GUEST.
The error description read "jco$exception: rfc_error_system_failure: invalid request".
I want to create these users manually and continue with the rest of process.
I searched lots of entries, notes, etc., but somehow, my "old" pair of eyes (and brains, too) failed to come up with something I could understand.
So, gurus, please help, help, help!!
There are no GUI version of anything installed, no Virtual Admin, no nothing like that. I have to rely on good old unix (Linux) command to do (add users) this.
Can you please, please post the instructions (step-by-step)? Please have a pity on me since this is my very first time dealing with SAP.
    Thanks and regards.

Creating users manually is not the intension of the SAP Installation tool. There are other solutions available
A good starting point is to check if SELinux is enabled or disabled. I've seen lots of broken installations on Red Hat because SELinux does not allow the installer to create users. Check if in /etc/selinux/config  the setting
    SELINUX=disabled
    is set.
I see, that you are using JDK 1.4.2_11. Is this the Sun JDK? In case you are on x86_64 you have to use the IBM JDK instead. You can download it from <a href="https://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/iwm/web/reg/download.do?source=lxdk&S_PKG=amd64142sr7&S_TACT=105AGX05&S_CMP=JDK&lang=en_US&cp=UTF-">here</a> .
Also a new SAPINST may help. The current Installation Master CD can you download here:

  • How do I add packages manually?

For offline installation, how do I add packages manually?
I have saved some packages into CD, and then added it to /var/cache/pacman/.
I ran 'pacman -S package' and nothing happens.

    Yes, finally working!
Thanks mcmillan, Cerebral, xdeusx, noalwin, bender02, [vEX], and kevin89 for helping.  It should be all downhill from here.
You just proved me you definitely have to >>!*read*!<< the content of that link
Do you make a habit out of being blunt?  You slap a link, just a link, to an entire guide.  And I am suppose to read that *entire* thing guess what you are trying to point me to?
What are you pointing me to?  How to add a package manually?  No, others have already corrected my mistake on that.  Where to get binaries?  No, I did not get a binary search there.  An easier way to install from sources?  No, did not find that either.  And then you reply, only to point to me to "man pacman".  How much of an ego boost did that give you?
I have read the manual.  -S was the typical switch to install a package.  So I thought tossing in a package to the cache folder would tell pacman that there is no need to fetch the package and just install it.  But I was wrong, others helped by telling me to use -U.  The Upgrade switch was used differently originally.  That easily thrown me off just like it have to another user above.
After that, I found out that the packages in Package Search were not binaries.  Others helped once again.  And finally got it to work.
But you, bangkok_manouel, just told me to go RTFM in a lesser way.  There was more to the problem than an obvious/simple solution.
I have no working connection to do it the easy way.  Yet, I remained enthusiastic on trying Arch.  Other members were helpful.  You just came crashing in.  That is no way to promote Arch.

  • Active Directory and 10.8 Server: Can't add users

I would be most appreciative of any help you folks can give a Mac user at a predominantly Windows/MS/Exchange Tier I university.
I bought a MacMini to act as the departmental File server to allow a granular level of permissions on folders for faculty, administration, residents and students. The students and residents rotate in yearly or for 2 years at a time.
The problem has become when I try and add users from the IT ActiveDirectory domain. The IT folks set-up the DNS, gave it a static IP address etc. all correctly.
The MacMini was also bound to AD in Sys Prefs > Users & Groups > Login Options > Network Account Server to the domain.
There are over 200,000 users in the university system. When I try and search for a user in the Users sidebar it pulls up a completely random list of users and lists "500+ users" next to the buttons. When I try and search for a user, invariably it fails. Furthermore, there is the term "Not Allowed" next to the names of all the random AD users.
    What am I doing wrong?
The Sys Admin guy I spoke with said the only way he could figure it out was to go to Groups sidebar, create a new group and add the user that way.
The whole premise for this is to allow the users the same login ID and PWD they do for every other service on campus. That's it. I then want to be able to control folder permissions directly on the MacMini. Is this possible or do I need to use Open Directory in conjunction with AD?
Any help for this formerly Apple Power User would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks folks.

    Hi
    This is a Jabber-ism I think.
You get this if you are using UDS and the users you are trying to add aren't CUPS-enabled.
You probably also get it if the users are from LDAP and aren't CUPS enabled.
CUPC by comparison allows manual contact creation as well as adding of non CUPS people.

  • Are there any advanced user manual for Application Builder?

    Hi,
I want to find Application Builder user manual that can teach me how to set the Install Settings. For example, I want to know what libraries will be included in the installer if I enable Serial Port Support and Port I/O Support. What's the function of Enable ActiveX server in Application Settings? The Application Builder user guide I found which is a 8 pages installation guide with release note. I hope some NI engineers can answer this question. Thanks.
    Best regards
    Bill

For information about specific options in the Application Builder, click the Help button in the Build Application or Shared Library dialog box. In the Advanced Installer Settings dialog box, you also can click the Help button to display a topic with information about each option in the dialog box. Here are the descriptions of the two support options you mentioned:
Serial Port Support -- Installs the serial portion of NI-VISA needed for applications that access serial instruments or serial port.
Port I/O Support -- Installs the necessary support files for accessing parallel ports and for using the In Port and Out Port VIs.
The description of the "Enable ActiveX server" checkbox is: "Enables the ActiveX server for the application so it c
an respond to requests from ActiveX clients."
These descriptions also have links to more information about the objects mentioned, such as the In Port and Out Port VIs and the ActiveX server.
If this information is insufficient, please email [email protected] with your feedback so we can improve the help topics.

  • Where can I find Photoshop Elements 9 user manual?

Where can I find a link to download, in PDF format, a User Manual for Photoshop Elements 9? There doesn't seem to be a manual on the installation DVD.

    Hey Guys,
    I need some help.
I am TRYING to buy my downloaded trial version of Adobe Premiere Elements 9.  BUT your system is making it next to impossible to do this on-line with its incorrect assumptions re language, place of residence, country of origin of credit card and billing address.
I had this problem before last year and ended up having to buy a DVD version of Adobe PS CS5 from an electronics store in Houston TX when I last visited there last October.  I do NOT want to wait another 6 months before buying this item of software on my next visit to the U.S.
So please give me some guidance.
I have a downloaded version of Adobe Premiere Elements 9
I live in and have a MC billing address here in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, South America.
I require EVERYTHING to be the English Language
My account when I try to buy this software on-line is in GBP including VAT.   GBP ok but surely as I am NOT buying this in the UK I am not liable for VAT!!
The address you are using is my contact address in the UK which happens to be my brothers home!!
All I want to do is buy this software with my CC and get full unrestricted access to Premiere before the TRIAL PERIOD ENDS.
I look forward to hearing from you in due course.  If it will help I can telephone you via Skype or magicJack or you can call me at an agreed time on either of these VOIP systems.
    Thank you
    Brian Robertson.

  • How to add users in DS 6.3

    hi
i like to know how we can add users to DS 6.3 instances using command line utilities

Please read the admin manuals. You can write your own custom application in a variety of languages with an LDAPv3 compatible module. Or you could assemble the entry by hand and use ldapmodify or ldapadd to add to the directory server.

  • How to add users to the container

    Hi,
My JSF application has security enabled. The users and their roles are defined in a .xml file located in my container (standard). Is there any way I can dynamically add users to this .xml file? Right now I am able to add them manually, but it would be nice if they were added as soon as they joined my service.
    Best Regards
    Thomas

There is always some way ...
Most app servers will support custom login modules via the JAAS "LoginModule" interface. Glassfish has built-in modules for file, LDAP, certificate store and solaris authentication, but you can plug-in others. There is an article and sample for how to do this for a database at <http://dev2dev.bea.com/pub/a/2003/04/Pijpops.html> (targeted at BEA, but Glassfish, etc should be the same).
Using a database or LDAP directory to store your users means there are plenty of standard tools for manipulating and managing the data, and any updates will be available immediately to your app server.
If you want to stick to with the file module, you can obviously update the file directly, but then the app-server or domain might need a restart before your new users get picked up, and also if the file stores the passwords hashed, you have to know the particular hashing algorithm used. Otherwise, each app server usually exposes the admin functionality (like adding users) through some web-service or EJB interface -- but this tends to be app-server specific. Your app server docs should give more details.
What app server and version are you using? Glassfish? JBoss?

  • Error when trying to add users - The server is not operational [domain]

Installed the admin console and went to start adding users to the system.  On the add users screen I select the domain and then get the following error:
The server is not operational [domain]
I looked this up in Service Notes and found this and found SN 1098415.
The root cause indicated there is that the server is part of a WindowsNT domain and as such can't issue the LDAP query.
This server is running in an active directory domain (not sure if it is 2000 or 2003, but it is AD nonetheless.
Any thoughts?  There are no firewalls in-between the servers that provide AD and this server.
    McP

I solved my problem.  For purposes of discussion let's call my Pre-Windows 2000 domain name ACME and my Windows 2000/2003 domain acme.net.
After writing several manual VBScript LDAP queries (to take BPC out of the equation) I determined that the DC didn't want to answer to ACME.  It would only answer to acme.net.
So, I went into Server Manager to "Define System User Groups" and updated the system user group "Domain Users" to look at acme.net for the domain name instead of just ACME.
That did the trick - I am now able to see all the users in the domain.
    Thanks for all the suggestions.

I today finished installing on W2R2+WebSphere 8 LC ES4 with a similar error on XMLForm.exe. This link worked for me and my error was similar.

  • [b]User Manual T2130CT Laptop [/b]

    HI ALL,
I have just bought a Toshiba T2130CT Laptop and wonder if you can help me out with a copy of the User Manual for it and any info about it.
Do you know any good websites re T2130CT
I have never had a Laptop before so will need your help.
Will the battery charge up IF i leave it plugged ON or OFF into the mains AC supply/
Do not know how good the battery is ? it's a Ni-Mh model PA2457U 12V DC 2600maH .. how long does it take to recharge?
As i do not have a CD drive can i add an external CD or would be best to get the Docking station as i think it would have a built in CD ROM drive , and how easy would it be to find a docking station ???? are they cheap?
anyway any help you can give me , would be most gratefull
    bye Patrick GW1SXN
my email is ( [email protected] )
PS. I do NOT have a Operating System installed yet
as it only has a floppy drive , i think i might have
MS DOS 6 some where ?

    Hi
You can look into the archive here:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_manuals.jsp?service=EU&banner_id=DISCONTI NUED_DOWNLOAD_ARCHIVE
    Look in the category ARCHIVE!
    Short answers to Your questions:
The battery will charge both in ON and OFF mode. However, do not expect the battery to be good. The unit is quite old and the battery is probably dead. You can see the 'status' of the battery on the LED in the front (it has a battery icon).
Black - battery not recognized / not charging.
Orange - battery is being charged
Green - battery is fully charged.
The time to recharge is unknown for me but I always look at the LED's to give me the status. Don't care about times, just look at the LED's.
For sure You can use an external CD via PC Card - but remember to use a 16-bit card only!! I don't think it supports 32-bit cards (Cardbus cards).
I don't think that any docking was including a CD. And I don't think You can get hold of a docker for this unit anymore. Perhaps used ones can be found.
    Hope this helps!
    BR
